• Does Google counts backlinks from homepage to inside pages?

  I have a site with good PR and my inside pages are getting increase of PR, but they don't have links pointing to them, only from my homepage. Does that means that Google counts ALL links on my homepage, including links to inside pages? Does it calculate inside pages PR with one coming from my domain, my homepage, too? Also, if inside pages that got high PR from homepage have link back to homepage, will that increase homepage PR additionally, since those links should count too? By Google PR algorithm formula, by calculations on Wikipedia and Stanford PR algorithm explanation ( which is originally developed by ) it counts those links, and also it counts after-increase backlink again, making few times circle ( it stops because of d ( 0.85 ) factor. ), but it counts them. Does anyone know is this correct?

• All images are gone after open a doc file created by libreoffice writer

  I got a paper template in .doc format from a conference site. Now when i work on it with libreoffice and insert image to it and insert caption for the image, after closing the file and opening it again, all images are gone. I saw that when the image Anchor is set "to frame" the image will be gone but when it is set to e.g. "to paragraph" it will maintain but it's alignment will be corrupted. Also, i need the Anchor to be set to "Frame". What can I do? I searched the net but i didn't find a good answer.

• Where is EasUS coming from?

  I have downloaded the Universal USB Installer and Ubuntu 12.04 Desktop as described on your site. I installed it to a 16Gb USB stick including the format option. Now when I try to boot from the stick into Ubuntu I get a couple of lines of script then a screen with EasUS Todo Backup with Backup. Recovery, Clone and Tools options, but no sign of Ubuntu starting. Where is the start Ubuntu option please? I can find no reference to EaseUS on your help pages.

  I am in the process of creating my own website, which will include a technical blog. I want to build my website using modern technologies such as HTML5 and CSS3. Since my website will be targetted at programmers and mostly tech-savvy users, should I take for granted that these people will be using a modern browser? Or should I make my site compatible with older browsers just in case? I don't want to go through the pain of adapting my website to be compatible with browsers I assume won't be used.

• Is NTFS-3G safe for writing?

  These days, I have to use the NTFS-3G driver to write to an NTFS drive (which will later be used in Windows). But I still remember the olde times of Linux ntfs driver which clearly said in the docs: 'If you write to an ntfs volume, run our special program afterwards which will clean up the damage done.' So, I read through the man, the docs, the Tuxera site and Askubuntu and found no discussion of the write-safety of NTFS-3G. The only thing that was mentioned somewhere is that the driver doesn't support the NTFS journal. So, the question is, can I use NTFS-3G and be sure that I will later read what I have written to the files? Won't, for example, Windows find the journal entries missing and 'clean up' the data according to its own faulty understanding?

• How to recover organic position in Google results after server down?

  I have several sites that were doing quite well in terms of organic SEO rankings. I have the important sites setup in Google's Webmaster tools. Long story short, the system was down for about two weeks. Now in AdSense and Analytics, I am seeing that the page views are SLOWLY increasing. and I would like to know if there is anything I can do now to try to expedite the process of regaining those positions. Since there were several errors from that server, is it possible that Google will now rank any site from that IP address lower due to those two weeks of errors? Is this something that I just have to let ride out? Thanks.

  Can anyone recommend affiliate networks that focus on B2B development. We are about to launch a UK job search engine that allows job boards to list their jobs on the engine. We have decided to keep the advertising in house, with the goal being of keeping the costs down. I was wondering if anyone could offer any advice on potential advertising routes that we could take. For example B2B affiliate networks, adwords etc. We are in the position of launching an empty site and ideally we would like to be attracting recruitment agencies or businesses to signup to either a free or paid account.   I need to redirect CakePHP installation host to my domain. Location of my Cakephp installation: myhosting.com/newsite/ Domain: www.mydomain.com I'm currently using URL Frame to direct www.mydomain.com to myhosting.com/newsite/. Problem When I load www.mydomain.com, I see all links in the site is pointing to the hosting location - example - myhosting.com/newsite/product/1 It should be pointing to www.mydomain.com/product/1 Any simple way to fix this? Probably very simple to solve it, but I can't bend it. Help much appreciated.

Some people will realize that the period is not a part of the url but others will not. Is there an easy way to redirect from http://example.com/home. to http://example.com/home? I have a IIS 7.0 shared hosting with GoDaddy. This means I have access to the box only through their interface so some options might be limited.

  i have a website with thousands of dynamic pages. I want to use the robots.txt file in order to dissalow certain url patterns corresponding to pages with duplicate content. For example i have a page for article itemA belonging to category catA/subcatA, with URL: /catA/subcatA/itemA this is the URL that i want to be indexed from google. this article is also visible via tagging in various other places in the web site. The URLs produced via tagging is like: /tagA1/itemA this URL i want NOT to be indexed from google. However i want to have indexed all tag listings: /tagA1 so how can i achieve this? dissalow URLs of including a specific string with a '/' at the end? /tagA1/ itemA - dissalow /tagA1 - allow

  Hello everyone. I am working on website and I am trying to make it fast as much as possible - especially the small things that can make my site a little bit quicker. So, my to my question - I got loop that run 5 times and in each time it echo something, If I'll make variable and the loop will add the text I want to echo into the variable and just in the end I'll echo the variable - will it be faster? loop 1 (with the echo inside the loop) for ($i = 0;$i < 5;$i++) { echo "test"; } loop 2 (with the echo outside [when the loop finish]) $echostr = ""; for ($i = 0;$i < 5;$i++) { $echostr .= "test"; } echo $echostr; I know that loop 2 will increase a bit the file size and therefore the user will have to download more bytes but If I got huge loop will it be better to use second loop or not?   I'm using a WordPress site and I thought I got all the kinks out of it. For some reason Webmaster Tools is crawling my website and showing a lot of 404 errors which are from /_ like additional pages that I've never created. I just can't figure out what is creating these for Google crawlers and then displaying a 404. My robots.txt is here. My sitemap (created by the Yoast plugin) is here.   I finished my website and launched it, I think I had a problem with my robots.txt - so I changed it to look like this: 03/08/2012 # Allows all bots Sitemap: http://www.mysite.co.za/sitemap.xml User-agent: * Disallow: /dashboard/ When I google my domain.co.za - I get this back: Home A description for this result is not available because of this site's robots.txt – learn more. You've visited this page 3 times. Last visit: 2012/08/15 Now since I fixed this and added a 301 redirect to redirect mysite.co.za to www.mysite.co.za I would love it if google bot would come do a visit. Is there anything I can do to get this fixed?
