3D primitive rendering library

Hi, I am looking for a library which would easily allow me to render shapes (cubes, spheres, lines, circles, etc.) in 3D3 and OpenGL if possible. I want to be able to rapidly design visual debugging tools and I am not proefficient enough in graphics rendering to do it myself (writing the low level stuff that is). The library would have to be for C/C++. I've already taken a look at the open-source 3d engine, but I feel those are too big for what I really need. Do any of you know if such library exist? If so, links would be appreciated!

Entity System and rendering

Okey, what I know so far; The entity contains a component(data-storage) which holds information like; - Texture/sprite - Shader - etc And then I have a renderer system which draws all this. But what I don't understand is how the renderer should be designed. Should I have one component for each "visual type". One component without shader, one with shader, etc? Just need some input on whats the "correct way" to do this. Tips and pitfalls to watch out for.

for vs. foreach vs. LINQ

When I write code in Visual Studio, ReSharper (God bless it!) often suggests me to change my old-school for loop in the more compact foreach form. And often, when I accept this change, ReSharper goes a step forward, and suggests me to change it again, in a shiny LINQ form. So, I wonder: are there some real advantages, in these improvements? In pretty simple code execution, I cannot see any speed boost (obviously), but I can see the code becoming less and less readable... So I wonder: is it worth it?

SQL Server Requery() sometimes hangs

I have an issue with Visual C++ and Microsoft SQL Server 2008R2. The following code will occasionally hang: Object->Update(); if(Object->CanRestart()) { //Why does this not return?? m_pDBRoRBaseObject->Requery(); } Object is derived from CRecordset. It looks to me as though a call to ::SQLExecute(m_hstmt) in the Requery() method is hanging, but I can't (with my current skill set anyway) figure out a way around this. Has anyone had a similar problem, or an insight of any sort?

Questions about TinyMCE. Or suggestions on a compariable product.

Hi I am using jquery 1.3.2 and asp.net mvc 1.0. Originally I was using some other rich html editor but I ran into one major problem when a user pasted in text from open office or MS office it would bring along tons of styling junk. If a user like wrote one sentence what was like 25 characters and pasted that into my current html editor the count would 25,000 characters and I don't want to store all that junk( I can't afford to). So tinyMCE seems to not have this problem. However I got some questions. It seems if you want to use for commercial use(what my site is but currently is not making very much at this time) you need to get a commercial license. However it does not say if it is free or if it will cost money. I am assuming it means that you will have to pay but I would like to confirm this. So do you have to pay for a license to use tinyMCe if your using it for commercial use? (Yes/ No) ------------------ Answer the following questions if you said "no" to the first question ----------- So would I use the jQuery package then or is it better to use the other versions? What is this .net compressor zip for? Do I need it? I only want a few of the buttons(like bold,font size) can I remove the other buttons? It seems to display a word count. Can it be changed to character count? ----------------- Answer the following question if you said "yes" to the first question -------- Is there a rich html editor that is free for commercial use and preferably for jquery that can remove the junk that office programs seem to bring along? using ResultSet.Previous method not working in Java using .mdb file OBDC

Hello, I'm currently having an issue with my open result set not working how I believe it should. The only function that is currently working is the next() method, nothing else will work. If the project is placed into a debug mode you can follow through actionperformed event on the button it hits the previous() method and jumps over the remaining code in the method. If someone could point me in the right direction it would be truly appreciated. I am able to do encoding with a usb connected web cam but I cannot find a way to use the encoder to connect to ip camera connected to our switch. Windows Vista language text service problem

Hi, All I'm using English version of Vista and having problems with using programs that display Russian characters somewhere. For example dictionaries doesn't work for me, since they display Russian character. Also I see just "magic" characters in text editor (notepad) when open a Russian text file. I tried to change whole Vista Interface language to Russian, but it still didn't solve the problem. I CAN read any web page from browser, that's not a problem. Also adding "Russian" in "Text Services and Input Languages" doesn't solve this problem. Does anyone know how to solve this? Thanks. My System: 32-bit Windows Vista Home Premium - SP2

VisualVM over ssh

I've read Visual VM remotely over ssh but I think I've not fully understood because it was not working for me :-( Please can someone give some example? ssh -D 9696 [email protected] and visualvm.exe -J-Dnetbeans.system_socks_proxy=localhost:9696 -J-Djava.net.useSystemProxies=true starts visualvm, but no processes of external machine are shown (only the local ones like visualvm itself). Moreover sometimes (but not always) I got the message "channel 3: open failed: connect failed: Connection refused" in my ssh window. Any help?

MySQL Workbench: Orphaned document changes detected

Each time I open MySQL Workbench, I get this annoying message at the bottom of the screen saying "Orphaned document changes detected". It comes up whether I close all the SQL Editor workspaces or not. Dismissing the error doesn't help either. I did a Google search of the exact error message but it only yields four results. Anyone here who has faced the same issue in the past? How do I clean up these "orphaned documents" or completely disable this message? FYI: I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and the only customization that's made to MySQL Workbench is that I've disabled the query results limit.
