  • java.lang.NumberFormatException: unable to parse '' as integer one more time

    - by Quzziy
    I will take two numbers from user, but this number from EditText must be converted to int. I think it should be working, but I still have problem with compilation code in Android Studio. CatLog show error in line with: int wiek = Integer.parseInt(wiekEditText.getText().toString()); Below is my full Android code: public class MyActivity extends ActionBarActivity { int Wynik; @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.activity_my); int Tmax, RT; EditText wiekEditText = (EditText) findViewById(R.id.inWiek); EditText tspoczEditText = (EditText) findViewById(R.id.inTspocz); int wiek = Integer.parseInt(wiekEditText.getText().toString()); int tspocz = Integer.parseInt(tspoczEditText.getText().toString()); Tmax = 220 - wiek; RT = Tmax - tspocz; Wynik = 70*RT/100 + tspocz; final EditText tempWiekEdit = wiekEditText; TabHost tabHost = (TabHost) findViewById(R.id.tabHost); //Do TabHost'a z layoutu tabHost.setup(); TabHost.TabSpec tabSpec = tabHost.newTabSpec("Calc"); tabSpec.setContent(R.id.Calc); tabSpec.setIndicator("Calc"); tabHost.addTab(tabSpec); tabSpec = tabHost.newTabSpec("Hints"); tabSpec.setContent(R.id.Hints); tabSpec.setIndicator("Hints"); tabHost.addTab(tabSpec); final Button Btn = (Button) findViewById(R.id.Btn); Btn.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(View v) { Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(),"blablabla"+ "Wynik",Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); } }); wiekEditText.addTextChangedListener(new TextWatcher() { @Override public void beforeTextChanged(CharSequence s, int start, int count, int after) { } @Override public void onTextChanged(CharSequence s, int start, int before, int count) { Btn.setEnabled(!(tempWiekEdit.getText().toString().trim().isEmpty())); } @Override public void afterTextChanged(Editable s) { } }); } @Override public boolean onCreateOptionsMenu(Menu menu) { // Inflate the menu; this adds items to the action bar if it is present. getMenuInflater().inflate(R.menu.my, menu); return true; } @Override public boolean onOptionsItemSelected(MenuItem item) { // Handle action bar item clicks here. The action bar will // automatically handle clicks on the Home/Up button, so long // as you specify a parent activity in AndroidManifest.xml. int id = item.getItemId(); if (id == R.id.action_settings) { return true; } return super.onOptionsItemSelected(item); } }

  • How to display HTML-like table data on iPhone?

    - by Jason
    I have a set of data in a matrix which I would like to display in my iPhone app with all of the rows and columns intact. Everything I can find on the web dealing with "tables iPhone" gives me information on UITableView, which only lets you show a list of items to the user - not an actual table in the HTML sense. What's the best way on the iPhone to display an actual table of data to the user, with column & row headings and table cells?

  • I cannot get mlocManager.removeUpdates(mlocListener); to work

    - by Colin
    I have an app that uses the LocationManage functions which works well until the app is stopped or paused. The location listener function is still carrying on in the background. Relevant bits of code follow. When I click home or back the onstop() function is being triggered correctly. package uk.cr.anchor; import android.app.Activity; import android.content.Context; import android.location.Location; import android.location.LocationListener; import android.location.LocationManager; import android.media.MediaPlayer; import android.media.RingtoneManager; import android.net.Uri; import android.os.Bundle; import android.view.View; import android.widget.EditText; import android.widget.TableRow; import android.widget.Toast; import android.widget.ToggleButton; import android.content.SharedPreferences; import android.graphics.Color; public class main extends Activity { /** Called when the activity is first created. */ private LocationManager mlocManager; private LocationListener mlocListener; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); LocationManager mlocManager = (LocationManager)getSystemService(Context.LOCATION_SERVICE); LocationListener mlocListener = new MyLocationListener(); mlocManager.requestLocationUpdates( LocationManager.GPS_PROVIDER, 0, 0, mlocListener); } @Override protected void onStop(){ stoplistening(); super.onStop(); } /* Class My Location Listener */ public class MyLocationListener implements LocationListener { @Override public void onLocationChanged(Location loc) { loc.getLatitude(); loc.getLongitude(); etc etc etc } private void stoplistening() { if (mlocManager != null) { Toast.makeText( getApplicationContext(), "kill", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT ).show(); mlocManager.removeUpdates(mlocListener); } else { Toast.makeText( getApplicationContext(), " not kill", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT ).show(); } } } I always get the "not kill" message. Can anyone help me!

  • IBOutlets are always nil

    - by Jonas
    Hi, In IB I have subclassed the File Owner and the subclass loads my .nib. The subclass itself doesn't need access to the IBOutlets so they're instance variables in another class, which I added as a subclass of NSObject in the .nib. Then I connected the interface elements to that object. But somehow, in the class that "owns" the IBOutlets, they show up as nil. What am I doing wrong here?

  • How do I drop 'NOT NULL' from a column in MySQL?

    - by Will
    A show create table command shows the following: 'columnA' varchar(6) NOT NULL DEFAULT ''; How do I modify that column so that the not null is removed? I need it to be: 'columnA' varchar(6) DEFAULT NULL; I thought the following would work, but it has no effect: ALTER TABLE tbl_name MODIFY columnA varchar(6) DEFAULT NULL;

  • Format TimeSpan in DataGridView column

    - by Dan Neely
    I've seen these questions but both involve methods that aren't available in the CellStyle Format value. I only want to show the hours and minutes portion (16:05); not the seconds as well (16:05:13). I tried forcing the seconds value to zero but still got something like 16:05:00. Short of using a kludge like providing a string or a DateTime (and only showing the hour/minutes part) is there any way I can get the formatting to do what I want.

  • How to prove worst-case number of inversions in a heap is O(nlogn)?

    - by Jacques
    I am busy preparing for exams, just doing some old exam papers. The question below is the only one I can't seem to do (I don't really know where to start). Any help would be appreciated greatly. Use the O(nlogn) comparison sort bound, the theta(n) bound for bottom-up heap construction, and the order complexity if insertion sort to show that the worst-case number of inversions in a heap is O(nlogn).

  • Login system and sessions (php)

    - by Jonathan
    I've created a login page and registration page and now I want to use that to password protect pages and have pages which show information specific to that user. Would storing the user ID of the user logged in in a Session variable be a safe and correct way of doing this? How easy would it be for a user to change the session variable to a different ID and access another user's information, and not having to type the users login details in?

  • Can I suppress or enforce URLs to be prefaced with http:// in ALL browsers?

    - by Ryan Dunlap
    I want to ensure that regardless of what browser a user is in, they all see the EXACT same characters in the URL bar. Most browsers show the preceding protocol type in the URL bar. However, Chrome for example truncates http:// (not sure about https) and starts with the domain name, ie: Chrome: stackoverflow.com/questions/ask Safari: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/ask So, is there a way to either suppress the http:// in all browsers, or even enforce it in all browsers? Preferably suppress.
