  • No Parameterless Constructor defined for - ViewModel with UOW

    I have a view model class which uses UnitOfWork to some database operations like fetching of items to create select lists and IPrincipal for some auditing (like modified by etc.). It cannot work without this UOW. I have configured my web site to use Ninject to inject UOW into Controllers. From controller I pass this UOW when creating view model. But when performing POST operation I am getting No parameterless constructor defined for this object. I have few SelectList type of properties which I have excluded with Bind attribute. How can I overcome this problem? Can I configure Ninject to create the objects of this type and make ModelBinder use it?

Any ideas? thanks.

    What's the best way to automate this function? I want to be able to do this in Outlook 2010, (1)select a specific mail account (2)Key in a folder that I am looking for (3)Then have the macro/program fire off an "*" asterisk (4)Then insert the text that I keyed in step one. I am trying to automate the search for a folder hot-keys that already exist. My problem is that I can't type the folder that I am looking for fast enough and all the search programs that I have used are far too slow. The hot-key search is awesome and super fast, I just can't type the folder that I am looking for fast enough. Can this process be automated?   • Help with proper character encoding.

    I have a HTML form that is sometimes submitted with accented characters: à, è, ì, ò, ù I have a PHP script that exports these form submissions into CSV format, when I look at the CSV format in a text editor (vim or notepad for example) the characters look fine, but when opened with Open Office or Word, I get some funky results: ????? I am also passing these submission to salesforce and am getting an error: "The entity "Atilde" was referenced, but not declared." What can I do to ensure portability of my CSV file? What's the proper way to handle the encoding? My HTML file is content-type is set as: Content-Type: text/html; charset=utf-8 Data is being stored in MySQL as latin1_swedish_ci collation.

  • How can I generate XML application configuration using Zend_Tool?

    When creating a new project using zf create project myproject it will create a default project layout with an application.ini in the configs folder. Where can I change these default settings so that it generates (and uses) an XML file (application.xml)? I've looked at the documentation for Zend_Tool (http://framework.zend.com/manual/en/zend.tool.html), but there seems to be no information on how to do this. And suppose you'd like to use a different default folder layout (ie. use htdocs instead of public as your document root), is there a way to specify this as well? Any pointers to relevant information (btw I've looked at the Quickstart, nothing relevant is mentioned there unless I'm overlooking it)? edit I already tried creating a profile (stored in .zf/project/profiles), and used that to create a project (using zf create project myproject myprofile) but that doesn't change anything, even though the .zfproject.xml file in the root of the new project does contain the <applicationConfigFile type="xml"/> setting... I want to make a query that would work similarly to the following SQL statement using the SQLAlchemy orm: SELECT A.* FROM A, B WHERE A.id = B.id AND B.type = 'some type'; The thing is that I'm trying to separate out A and B's logic into different places. So I'd like to make two queries that I can define in separate places: one where A uses B as a subquery, but only returns rows from A. I'm sure this is fairly easy to do, but an example would be nice if someone could show me.

    i've been doing some research on interfaces and a simple layman's explanation for what it truly is. For some reason people love using overly complex explanations and jargon to explain truly simple concepts (guess it makes them feel big) and i have a gut feeling it's the same in this case. so from what i could grasp, it seems like interfaces are nothing more than a way to reserve method names, their return type if any, and the type and amount of arguments they accept. so when a class implements an interface (or interfaces) it is forced to define the body of each method from the interface(s). Am i on the nose with this one or do i need to keep digging? p.s. i know javascript doesn't have support for interfaces, but i still need to understand the concept because there are quite a few places where it's shown how to emulate to an extent.

  • Django ORM dealing with MySQL BIT(1) field

    In a Django application, I'm trying to access an existing MySQL database created with Hibernate (a Java ORM). I reverse engineered the model using: $ manage.py inspectdb > models.py This created a nice models file from the Database and many things were quite fine. But I can't find how to properly access boolean fields, which were mapped by Hibernate as columns of type BIT(1). The inspectdb script by default creates these fields in the model as TextField and adds a comment saying that it couldn't reliably obtain the field type. I changed these to BooleanField but it doesn't work (the model objects always fetch a value of true for these fields). Using IntegerField won't work as well (e.g. in the admin these fields show strange non-ascii characters). Any hints of doing this without changing the database? (I need the existing Hibernate mappings and Java application to still work with the database).

This example is simplified. The actual code has about a dozen different subtypes of POD, and a couple dozen methods. New subtypes of POD and new methods are added pretty frequently, and so every time we do that, we have to update all these switch statements. The typical way to handle this would be to declare the function members virtual in the POD class, but we can't do that because the objects reside in shared memory. There is a lot of code that depends on these structs being plain-old-data, so even if I could figure out some way to have virtual functions in shared-memory objects, I wouldn't want to do that. So, I'm looking for suggestions as to the best way to clean this up so that all the knowledge of how to call the subtype methods is centralized in one place, rather than scattered among a couple dozen switch statements in a couple dozen functions. What occurs to me is that I can create some sort of adapter class that wraps a POD and uses templates to minimize the redundancy. But before I start down that path, I'd like to know how others have dealt with this.

  • Buffering db inserts in multithreaded program

    I have a system which breaks a large taks into small tasks using about 30 threads as a time. As each individual thread finishes it persists its calculated results to the database. What I want to achieve is to have each thread pass its results to a new persisance class that will perform a type of double buffering and data persistance while running in its own thread. For example, after 100 threads have moved their data to the buffer the persistance class then the persistance class swaps the buffers and persists all 100 entries to the database. This would allow utilization of prepared statements and thus cut way down on the I/O between the program and the database. Is there a pattern or good example of this type of multithreading double buffering?

    I have a managed object with a dueDate attribute. Here is the handler for the button (self.task is the managed object): - (void)taskDoneButtonTapped { self.task.finishedDate = [NSDate date]; } As soon as the value of the "finishedDate" attribute changes I'm hit with this exception: 2010-03-18 23:29:52.476 MyApp[1637:207] Serious application error. Exception was caught during Core Data change processing: no section named 'Done' found with userInfo (null) 2010-03-18 23:29:52.477 MyApp[1637:207] *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'no section named 'Done' found' I've managed to figure out that the UITableView that is currently hidden by the new details view is trying to update its rows and sections because the NSFetchedResultsController was notified that something changed in the data set. The exception is thrown before either controller:didChangeObject:atIndexPath:forChangeType:newIndex or controller:didChangeSection:atIndex:forChangeType are called. At this point I'm stuck. If I change my sectionNameKeyPath to just "dueDate" then everything works fine. I think that's because the dueDate attribute never changes whereas the category will be different when read back after the finishedDate attribute changes. Please help!     Hello, I have lets say a WeeklyViewUserControl.xaml and a DailyViewUserControl.xaml. Normally I used stuff like this to switch content: <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type ViewModel:LessonPlannerViewModel}"> <View:LessonPlannerDailyUC/> </DataTemplate> This worked so far. But now I have still the WeeklyViewUC which uses 90 % of the LessonPlannerViewModel code so I want to make this additionally: <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type ViewModel:LessonPlannerViewModel}"> <View:LessonPlannerWeeklyUC/> </DataTemplate> but this can not work, because from where does the ContentControl know that VM (LessonPlannerViewModel) should display a DailyViewUC or a WeeklyViewUC ? <ContentControl Content="{Binding VM}" />

    I using the FileWatcher Class to locate changes on Files in a specific Folder. I managed to detect Changes on Files but not detailed Information. On the WatcherChangeTypes Enumeration Page http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/t6xf43e0%28v=VS.100%29.aspx they write the Change Type detects the changes include: changes to size, attributes, security settings, last write, and last access time. Is there a way to detect which kind of change happened?
