  • Organize array in PHP from mysql

    Hi i have a social networking website. what i want it to do is pull out my friends status updates. basically what it does is i have a mysql query that pulls out all of my friends and in that while loop there is another mysql query that pulls out the status's from my friends. i want it to be in order of date but since its one while loop in another what it does is pull out all status's from friend 1 then 2 then 3 and not in order by date. i even tried ORDER BY DATE but that just ordered it by date within the friend.. my thought is that i could putt it all in an array and friends is one thing and the values is the stats. then just sort by values would this work and how could i do it.   • Java Web App: Passing form parameters across multiple pages

    Hi, what is the best practice or best way of passing form parameters from page to page in a flow? If I have a flow where a user enters data in a form and hits next and repeats this process until they get to an approval page, what ways could I approach this problem to make the retention of data as simple as possible over the flow? I guess you could put all the information as you go in the session but could you get into memory issues if a lot of people are using your app and going through the flow at the same time?

  • How to automate testing of a browser-based app?

    If it were a windows program, I would use Auto it to automate testing. Is there something similar for browser-based apps? Nothing too complex, it should just allow scripting (preferable for me to macro-recording) to simulate human interaction with the browser, which means being able to identify fields of a form by name, inject text into some, simulate mouse-click on others, etc and then, after submitting a form, should be able to read text certain named controls, check the status of others (checked, radio group index, read-only, etc). While I do appreciate a full featured product, I don't appreciate a steep learning curve. so something as simple as the scripting of Auto It woudl be fine. I don't know if it makes a difference which browser is used, but I could live with MSIE 6 or higher (maybe 7 or higher at a push).

  • Help with interesting VS2010 and SQL2008 bug

    Hey So im using Visual Studio 2010 to create a webpage. im calling some tabels from sql server 2008 here is where im confused... The code runs fine no errors. The pages works except im missing my rows in my 3rd column from the table. Everything else shows up. Ive checked to make sure the names are matching everywhere and that in sql the joins and such worked. What is the general feeling on JavaFX, will it become a power house, or go down the same path as Java Applets?     I am requesting data from a service whose response in stored in a database.First, I have an empty table, whenever I make my very first request the records from the service comes to my database table. from now, whenever I make second request, the service will provide me some records which may be same as my first response, may be new records, may be updated records etc. my query is to how to update my table with respect to the responses coming from the service during my second request on-wards? so that Unchanged records will remain same, New records will be added, updated records will be updated.Do I need to write any stored procedure on my DB or any workaround ?what might be the scenario if I use Nomysql DB's like mongo DB ?   • Should I be concerned with infected zip files?

    I'm writing a ASP.NET application to process user submitted zip files and limiting my extraction of files from it to only the extensions I want. I've heard of infected zip files attached to emails and I was wondering if I should be concerned about extracting data from infected zip files in my application. I don't plan on executing the content inside of the zip file, but will opening and extracting from an infected zip file cause the file to execute a virus even if I'm not executing any content inside of the zip file?

I understand that this is the existing definition of PUT - this question is about the reason(s) why it would be defined that way. i.e: What is gained by preventing partial PUTs? Why was preventing idempotent partial updates considered an acceptable loss?

  • Any active Bold for Delphi users ?

    What are you using as a persistance framework when programming in Delphi? If the application is growing it soon became really complicated to handle the model in SQL ? Bold is a persistance framework for Delphi win32 that really deserve more attention. I use it daily and using OCL instead of SQL to get data from the database saves a lot of time and debugging. When the model is changed Bold translate this to an SQL script and change the database. EDIT: For those that are interested in Bold for Delphi I have spend this evening on create a site on Google about it. I'm not a guru in html so the design is maybe not so exciting.   • Is Amazon SQS the right choice here? Rails performance issue.

    I'm close to releasing a rails app with the common networking features (messaging, wall, etc.). I want to use some kind of background processing (most likely Bj) for off-loading tasks from the request/response cycle. This would happen when users invite friends via email to join and for email notifications. I'm not sure if I should just drop these invites and notifications in my Database, using a model and then just process it with a worker process every x minutes or if I should go for Amazon SQS, storing the messages and invites there and let my worker retrieve it from Amazon SQS for processing (sending the invites / notifications). The Amazon approach would get load off my Database but I guess it is slower to retrieve messages from there. What do you think?

I have this in my config: frontend frontend 0.0.0.0:9999 [snip] capture cookie foo len 10 Then I use nc to talk directly to the server and send it: GET / HTTP/1.1 Cookie: foo=bar I get a log line, but there's a "-" where the captured cookie should be.

  • NetNamedPipe: varying response time when communication is idling

    I have two WCF apps communicating one-way over named pipes. All is nice, except for one thing: Normally, the request/response cycle takes zero (marginal) time. However, if there was a time span of, say, half a minute without any communication, the request/response increases up to ~300-500ms. I looked around the net and I got the idea of using a heart beat/ping mechanism to keep the communication channel busy. Using trial and error I found that when doing a request each 10 seconds, the response times stay low. Starting at around 15s intervals, the "hiccup" response times begin to appear. Now I'm wondering where this phenomenon is originating from. I tried setting alle conceivable timeouts on both sides to 1 minute, but that did not help. Can anybody explain what's going on there?
