  • Visual Studio 2010 is not allowing me to debug my code

    So, this interesting issue has been plaguing me for the past couple of hours. Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate no longer attaches the debugger and lets me debug my code. If I use the built in development server, then everything works fine. If I switch to Use Local IIS Web Server (http://localhost/), then all it does it attach to w3wp.exe, but no DLLs or PDBs are loaded for anything. I can go to Debug Windows Modules, and literally nothing is loaded in this window. Conversely, when using the built in development server, the Modules window displays all the DLLs and shows that the symbols for my DLLs have been loaded. Something is obviously amiss. The VS installation is completely bone stock. In IIS, my website is configured with ASP.NET 2.0 (because no 3.5 exists to select from the drop down), along with read / log visits / index this resource options checked on the "Home Directory" tab. Some of my failed ideas: 1) If I attach to process on the iexplore.exe instance where the website is displayed, it loads Internet Explorer's DLLs, but not mine. 2) I've restarted the computer multiple times 3) I've invoked devenv.exe /resetuserdata once 4) I've confirmed that every project is indeed set to debug and not release. 5) Deleted all \bin contents and rebuilt the solution. 6) Deleted entire solution and repulled from Source Control. Can someone tell me what is wrong with this thing? I'm going to have an aneurism from the headache this is causing me.

  • Is there a Designer for MFC in Visual Studio like for windows forms in .NET?

    I'm a .NET programmer. I've never developed anything in MFC. Currently I had to write a C++ application (console) for some image processing task. I finished writing it. But the point is I need to design GUI also for this. Well, there won't be anything complex. Just a window with few Buttons, RadioButtons, Check Boxes, PicturesBox & few sliders. thats it. I'm using VS 2008 and was expecting a .NET style form designer. Just to test, I created a MFC project (with all default configuration) and these files were created by default: ChildFrm.cpp MainFrm.cpp mfc.cpp mfcDoc.cpp mfcView.cpp stdafx.cpp Now, I'm unable to find a Designer. There is no View Designer. I've opened all the above *.cpp and in the code editor right clicked to see "Designer View". ToolBox is just empty because I'm in code editor mode. When I built the project. This is the window I get. How to open a designer?

  • jquery mouseover animation jumping

    Hi all, I have a table which is looped in <li>. On mouseover each row, there will be a border shown, and the row id="resFunc" will be displayed. However, in IE, the animation jumps up and down. Anyone has similar experience or solution to solve this?   • Is it possible to turn a View-Based App into a navigation-Based App?

    I am close to finishing my first application (a UITableView style one) on the iphone but have realised it will look much better, and stand a far better chance of getting through the approval process, if it is presented as a navigation-based app rather than a view-based one - in hindsight my initial choice is not really suitable... Is it possible for me to somehow change easily the application into a new type, or would i be better starting again from scratch with all the hassle that would entail... thanks for any advice on how it may be done, karl

  • Implementations details of drag and drop of file path in cocoa.

    Hi, I'm trying to get a part of my window to react to drag and drop. In this case to copy the file path to the file being dropped on the view. I have looked over some documentation but I still have some problems to see exactly where I should implement my methods for drag and drop. I have seen some examples but almost all of them assumes that I want to drop an image on the view. I'm pretty new to cocoa and Xcode so, I have some problems with seeing the exact relation between interface builder and the generated code. I have created a subclass to NSView, called drop zone like this: #import <Cocoa/Cocoa.h> @interface dropZone : NSView { } @end I then use an NSRect to color it grey like this: #import "dropZone.h" @implementation dropZone - (void)drawRect:(NSRect)rect { NSRect bounds = [self bounds]; [[NSColor grayColor] set]; [NSBezierPath fillRect:bounds]; } @end I then drag this class to my window in interface builder. But I will need to implement the registerForDraggingTypes method, but where? I have also seen a convenience method in the Apple docs for file paths like this: dragFile:fromRect:slideBack:event: that might work.

Have the super class create all the header component and open the components to the sub class, the sub class will access to component's setText method to update the text? or Have abstract method in super class to create the components, sub class will implement these methods to create the component.     Given the following function: def foo(a, b, c): pass How would one obtain a list/tuple/dict/etc of the arguments passed in? Specifically, I'm looking for Python's version of JavaScript's arguments keyword or PHP's func_get_args() method. What I'm not looking for is a solution using *args or **kwargs; I need to specify the argument names in the function definition (to ensure they're being passed in) but within the function I want to work with them in a list- or dict-style structure.

  • Make a table start on the same line as header

    I am trying to get a table of icons appear on the same line as the header. In the HTML below, the icons appear on a separate line. I tried using 'top' attribute to move the table, but this is not a good solution because then there's an ugly space between the icons table and the rest of the document.   • HTML form with single text field + preventing postback in Internet Explorer

    I have noticed a rather strange behaviour in IE. I have a HTML form with a single input text field and a submit button On Submit click I need to execute a client side JavaScript function that does the necessary. Now when I want to prevent the postback in the text field (on enter key press) I have added a key press JavaScript function that looks like this: <input type=text onkeypress="return OnEnterKeyPress(event)" /> function OnEnterKeyPress(event) { var keyNum = 0; if (window.event) // IE { keyNum = event.keyCode; } else if (event.which) // Netscape/Firefox/Opera { keyNum = event.which; } else return true; if (keyNum == 13) // Enter Key pressed, then start search, else do nothing. { OnButtonClick(); return false; } else return true; } Strangly this doesn't work.   • cfdiv working in FF and Safari but does not show up in IE

    Within a form I have a button that launches a cfwindow, then presents a search screen for the user to make a selection. Once selection is made, the cfwindow closes and the selected content shows in the main page by being bound to a cfdiv. This all works fine in FF but the cfdiv doesn't show at all in IE. In IE, the cfwindow works, the select works, but then no bound page. I have tried setting bindonload and that made no difference (and I need it to be true if there is content that is pulled in via a query when it loads). All I have been able to find so far regarding this issue is setting bindonload to false and putting the cfdiv outside of the form but that's not possible in my current design.   • WPF Binding Path=/ not working?

    I've set up my DataContext like this: <Window.DataContext> <c:DownloadManager /> </Window.DataContext> Where DownloadManager is Enumerable<DownloadItem>. Then I set my DataGrid like this: <DataGrid Name="dataGrid1" ItemsSource="{Binding Path=/}" ... So that it should list all the DownloadItems, right? So I should be able to set my columns like: <DataGridTextColumn Binding="{Binding Path=Uri, Mode=OneWay}" Where Uri is a property of the DownloadItem. But it doesn't seem to like this. In the visual property editor, it doesn't recognize Uri is a valid property, so I'm guessing I'm doing something wrong. It was working before, when I had the data grid binding to Values, but then I took that enumerable out of the DownloadManager and made itself enumerable. How do I fix this? PS: By "doesn't work" I mean it doesn't list any items. I've added some to the constructor of the DM, so it shouldn't be empty.

  • Negative margins: can they work in IE7 and IE8?
