  • App is crashing as soon as UITableView gets reloaded

    - by OhhMee
    Hello, I'm developing an app where TableView needs to reload as soon as the login process gets completed. The app crashes with error EXC_BAD_ACCESS when the table data gets reloaded. It doesn't crash when I remove all case instances except case 0: What could be the reason behind it? Here's the code: - (void)viewDidLoad { [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(loginDone:) name:@"loginDone" object:nil]; statTableView.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; } - (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger) section { return 6; } - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"Cell"; UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; } // Configure the cell. switch (indexPath.row) { case 0 : cell.textLabel.text = @"Foo:"; NSLog(@"%@", data7); UILabel *myLabel2 = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(200, 10, 20, 30)]; myLabel2.text = (@"%@", data7); myLabel2.textColor = [UIColor blackColor]; myLabel2.backgroundColor = [UIColor whiteColor]; myLabel2.font = [UIFont fontWithName:@"Trebuchet MS" size:14]; [cell.contentView addSubview:myLabel2]; break; case 1: cell.textLabel.text = @"Foo: "; UILabel *myLabel4 = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(200, 10, 20, 30)]; myLabel4.text = (@"%@", data11); myLabel4.textColor = [UIColor blackColor]; myLabel4.backgroundColor = [UIColor whiteColor]; myLabel4.font = [UIFont fontWithName:@"Trebuchet MS" size:14]; [cell.contentView addSubview:myLabel4]; break; case 2: cell.textLabel.text = @"Foo: "; UILabel *myLabel8 = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(200, 10, 20, 30)]; myLabel8.text = (@"%@", data3); myLabel8.textColor = [UIColor blackColor]; myLabel8.backgroundColor = [UIColor whiteColor]; myLabel8.font = [UIFont fontWithName:@"Trebuchet MS" size:14]; [cell.contentView addSubview:myLabel8]; break; case 3: cell.textLabel.text = @"Foo: "; UILabel *myLabel10 = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(200, 10, 20, 30)]; myLabel10.text = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@", data4]; if ([data4 isEqualToString:@"0"]) { myLabel10.text = @"None"; } myLabel10.textColor = [UIColor blackColor]; myLabel10.backgroundColor = [UIColor whiteColor]; myLabel10.font = [UIFont fontWithName:@"Trebuchet MS" size:14]; [cell.contentView addSubview:myLabel10]; break; case 4: cell.textLabel.text = @"Foo: "; UILabel *myLabel12 = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(200, 10, 20, 30)]; myLabel12.text = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@", data5]; myLabel12.textColor = [UIColor blackColor]; if ([data5 isEqualToString:@"Foo"]) { myLabel12.textColor = [UIColor redColor]; myLabel12.text = @"Nil"; } myLabel12.backgroundColor = [UIColor whiteColor]; myLabel12.font = [UIFont fontWithName:@"Trebuchet MS" size:14]; [cell.contentView addSubview:myLabel12]; break; case 5: cell.textLabel.text = @"Foo: "; UILabel *myLabel14 = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(200, 10, 50, 30)]; if ([data6 isEqualToString:@"Foo"]) { myLabel14.textColor = [UIColor colorWithRed:(0/255.f) green:(100/255.f) blue:(0/255.f) alpha:1.0]; myLabel14.text = @"No Dues"; } else { myLabel14.text = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@", data6]; myLabel14.textColor = [UIColor redColor]; } myLabel14.backgroundColor = [UIColor whiteColor]; myLabel14.font = [UIFont fontWithName:@"Trebuchet MS" size:14]; [cell.contentView addSubview:myLabel14]; break; /* [myLabel2 release]; [myLabel4 release]; [myLabel8 release]; [myLabel10 release]; [myLabel12 release]; [myLabel14 release]; */ } return cell; }

  • UITableView scrolling for very large cells

    - by Mike
I have UITableView with very large cells with lots of content (more than one screen height). I need to scroll UITableView to a certain position within those cells. I've found method scrollToRowAtIndexPath:atScrollPosition:animated: which works just fine if you got small cells (less than one screen), then you can just command UITableView to scroll, so the needed cell appears at the top of the screen (for example). But this doesn't help at all when you got very large cells. I need UITableView to scroll to a certain position within my large cell, something like scrollToRowAtIndexPath but what accepts pixel offset in addition to cell number. Someone got any ideas? Or maybe ready solution... Would appreciate any help.

  • How to use UISwipeGestureRecognizer on UIButton?

    - by Ashutosh
I have a UIbutton which i want to work as a joystick. So i am trying to add some gesture recognizer on the same button. I have this in my code right now: UISwipeGestureRecognizer *recognizer; recognizer = [[UISwipeGestureRecognizer alloc] initWithTarget:self action:@selector(handleSwipeFrom:)]; [recognizer setDirection:(UISwipeGestureRecognizerDirectionUp)]; [self.gestureRecieverButton addGestureRecognizer:recognizer]; [recognizer release]; recognizer = [[UISwipeGestureRecognizer alloc] initWithTarget:self action:@selector(handleSwipeFrom:)]; [recognizer setDirection:(UISwipeGestureRecognizerDirectionDown)]; [self.gestureRecieverButton addGestureRecognizer:recognizer]; [recognizer release]; -(void)handleSwipeFrom:(UISwipeGestureRecognizer *)recognizer { NSLog(@"Swipe received.%@",recognizer); } This is the error i am getting now: -[CUETutorialSixteenClusterRootController handleSwipeFrom:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x79b71b0 2012-03-28 13:25:55.724 CUETrainer[1788:11f03] * Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '-[CUETutorialSixteenClusterRootController handleSwipeFrom:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x79b71b0' But its not actually doing anything. • Copy NSArray and replace text items with bool values

    - by Frank Martin
I utilize a (nested) plist to populate UITableViews where users can select entries at the deepest levels and set a checkmark (or not). I want to save these selections in a same structured list where at the deepest level the NSArray contains bool values instead the text strings that are displayed in the UITableView. So how can i build from a hierarchy like the following: Root - Item 0 (Dictionary) - Group (Dictionary) - Items (NSArray) - Item 0: @"Please check me" (String) a hierarchy like this? Root - Item 0 (Dictionary) - Group (Dictionary) - Items (NSArray) - Item 0: 0 (NSNumber) // NSNumber for bool values I'm trying to create a deep mutable copy and replace the items at the deepest levels but have somehow the feeling that this can be done easier. Thanks for any help with this in advance. Frank

  • Mobile Safari Youtube opened via javascript

    - by Squeegy
We have a youtube player embedded in a plage in Mobile Safari and it works great. But we need to be able to launch the youtube player by a means other than user tapping the video itself, for various reasons. So I am trying to figure out what event to trigger in javascript to make it happen with no luck. None of the following appear to work. var vid = document.getElementById('vid'); vid.click(); vid.onclick(); vid.ontouchend(); vid.ontouchstart(); vid.focus(); I tried to find an event handler added to the embedded object with this snippet, but didn't find anything. for (var key in vid) { if (typeof vid[key] == 'function') console.log(key +': '+ vid[key]); } Is this just so wrapped up in a custom plugin there is no way?

  • Including a NSUserDefault password test in 1st Tab.m to load a loginView gives eror?

    - by Michael Robinson
I have a name and password in NSUserDefaults for login. I have this in my 1stTab View.m class to test for presence and load a login/signup loginView.xib modally if there is no password or name stored in the app. Here is the pulling of the defaults: -(void)refreshFields { NSUserDefaults *defaults = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; usernameLabel.text = [defaults objectForKey:kUsernameKey]; passwordLabel.text = [defaults objectForKey:kPasswordKey]; { Here is the Test: - (void)viewDidAppear:(BOOL)animated { [self refreshFields]; [super viewDidAppear:animated]; if ([usernameLabel.text length] == 0 || [passwordLabel.text length] == 0) { LoginViewController * vc = [[[LoginViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"LoginView" bundle:nil] autorelease]; [self presentModalViewController:vc animated: false]; } else { [[self tableView ]reloadData]; } } Thanks in advance, I'm getting this error in the console: * Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSUnknownKeyException', reason: '[ setValue:forUndefinedKey:]: this class is not key value coding-compliant for the key usernameLabel.'

  • iOS: How to access the `UIKeyboard`?

    - by MattDiPasquale
I want to get a pointer reference to UIKeyboard *keyboard to the keyboard on screen so that I can add a transparent subview to it, covering it completely, to achieve the effect of disabling the UIKeyboard without hiding it. In doing this, can I assume that there's only one UIKeyboard on the screen at a time? I.e., is it a singleton? Where's the method [UIKeyboard sharedInstance]. Brownie points if you implement that method via a category. Or, even more brownie points if you convince me why it's a bad idea to assume only one keyboard and give me a better solution.

  • How can i see if dealloc is being called on a uikit object, or any object not created by myself

    - by Gyozo Kudor
I think i have an UIImage that has a higher retain count than it should have and i am probably leaking memory. I use this image as a thumbnail, to set a custom background to a uibutton. So the uibutton is holding a reference to it and so do i. But instead of 2, the retainCount is 3. Do i have to create a custom UIImage derived class and override dealloc if I want to place a log message there and then change the class used from UIImage to my class, or is there an easier way. Thanks in advance.

  • When are dynamically loaded NIBs assigned frames and bounds data?

    - by thebossman
In one of my UIViewControllers, I am calling initWithNibName:bundle: for several other UIViewControllers. I am grabbing the view property in each of those dynamically created controllers and placing them, one after the other, in my parent view. For instance, the y offset of viewControllerB should be equal to the height of viewControllerA. The y offset of viewControllerC should be equal to the height of viewControllerB, and so on. I am initalizing these nibs in viewDidLoad, yet none of them have any meaningful bounds or frame properties. The sizes and positions of each are all zero. Where is the 'correct' place to do this type of operation so that I can grab meaningful values from these properties?

  • Using Kal calendar without doing the initialization (and so on) in the AppDelegate

    - by testing
I'm using the Kal calendar. For the code shown below I'm referring to the Holiday example. In this example the allocation and initialization of Kal is done in the applicationDidFinishLaunching in the AppDelegate. The UITableViewDelegate protocol (e.g. didSelectRowAtIndexPath) is also positioned in the AppDelegate class. The AppDelegate: #import "HolidayAppDelegate.h" #import "HolidaySqliteDataSource.h" #import "HolidaysDetailViewController.h" ## Heading ###import "Kal.h" @implementation HolidayAppDelegate @synthesize window; - (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication *)application { kal = [[KalViewController alloc] init]; kal.navigationItem.rightBarButtonItem = [[[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithTitle:@"Today" style:UIBarButtonItemStyleBordered target:self action:@selector(showAndSelectToday)] autorelease]; kal.delegate = self; dataSource = [[HolidaySqliteDataSource alloc] init]; kal.dataSource = dataSource; // Setup the navigation stack and display it. navController = [[UINavigationController alloc] initWithRootViewController:kal]; [window addSubview:navController.view]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; } // Action handler for the navigation bar's right bar button item. - (void)showAndSelectToday { [kal showAndSelectDate:[NSDate date]]; } #pragma mark UITableViewDelegate protocol conformance // Display a details screen for the selected holiday/row. - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { Holiday *holiday = [dataSource holidayAtIndexPath:indexPath]; HolidaysDetailViewController *vc = [[[HolidaysDetailViewController alloc] initWithHoliday:holiday] autorelease]; [navController pushViewController:vc animated:YES]; } #pragma mark - - (void)dealloc { [kal release]; [dataSource release]; [window release]; [navController release]; [super dealloc]; } @end I don't want to put this into the AppDelegate, because there could be some overlapping code with other views. It should be a separate "component" which I can call and put on the stack. In my navigation based project I have a main view, the RootViewController. From there I want to push the Kal view on the stack. Currently I'm pushing an additional ViewController on the stack. In the viewWillAppear method from this ViewController I do the things shown in the code above. The following problems appear: Navigation back has to be done two times (one for the Kal calendar, one for my created view) Navigation to my main view is not possible anymore In the moment I don't know where to put this code. So the question is where to put the methods for allocation/initialization as well as the methods for the UITableViewDelegate protocol.

  • My xcode mapview wont work when combined with webview

    - by user1715702
I have a small problem with my mapview. When combining the mapview code with the code for webview, the app does not zoom in on my position correctly (just gives me a world overview where i´m supposed to be somewhere in California - wish I was). And it doesn´t show the pin that I have placed on a specific location. These things works perfectly fine, as long as the code does not contain anything concerning webview. Below you´ll find the code. If someone can help me to solve this, I would be som thankful! ViewController.h #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #import <MapKit/MapKit.h> #define METERS_PER_MILE 1609.344 @interface ViewController : UIViewController <MKMapViewDelegate>{ BOOL _doneInitialZoom; IBOutlet UIWebView *webView; } @property (weak, nonatomic) IBOutlet MKMapView *_mapView; @property (nonatomic, retain) UIWebView *webView; @end ViewController.m #import "ViewController.h" #import "NewClass.h" @interface ViewController () @end @implementation ViewController @synthesize _mapView; @synthesize webView; - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; [_mapView setMapType:MKMapTypeStandard]; [_mapView setZoomEnabled:YES]; [_mapView setScrollEnabled:YES]; MKCoordinateRegion region = { {0.0,0.0} , {0.0,0.0} }; region.center.latitude = 61.097557; region.center.longitude = 12.126545; region.span.latitudeDelta = 0.01f; region.span.longitudeDelta = 0.01f; [_mapView setRegion:region animated:YES]; newClass *ann = [[newClass alloc] init]; ann.title = @"Hjem"; ann.subtitle = @"Her bor jeg"; ann.coordinate = region.center; [_mapView addAnnotation:ann]; NSString *urlAddress = @"http://google.no"; //Create a URL object. • How to have a UISwipeGestureRecognizer AND UIPanGestureRecognizer work on the same view

    - by Shizam
How would you setup the gesture recognizers so that you could have a UISwipeGestureRecognizer and a UIPanGestureRecognizer work at the same time? Such that if you touch and move quickly (quick swipe) it detects the gesture as a swipe but if you touch then move (short delay between touch & move) it detects it as a pan? I've tried various permutations of requireGestureRecognizerToFail and that didn't help exactly, it made it so that if the SwipeGesture was left then my pan gesture would work up, down and right but any movement left was detected by the swipe gesture.

  • Properly maintain sorted state of Array/Set

    - by Jeff
I'm trying to get data out of my MOC and then create some new objects based on those objects, and put it all back together, while keeping my sort state. The securities come out of the MOC in proper order. And everything seems to be fine until I do the assignment to the game at the bottom from setWithArray. The documentation says that setWithArray removed the duplicate objects, if there are any. I'm wonder if that's messing up my data, but I don't see a good alternative. The data is ultimately being pulled out into a UITableView. When I add items to the game manually, then they stay sorted, so I don't think the breaking of the sort is beyond the scope of what I've included here. NSError *error; NSArray *allTheSecurities = [managedObjectContext executeFetchRequest:request error:&error]; if (allTheSecurities == nil) { // Handle the error. } [request release]; /**/ NSLog( @"Enumerate..." ); NSEnumerator *enumerator = [allTheSecurities objectEnumerator]; id anObject; NSMutableArray *portfolioStocks = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; while (anObject = [enumerator nextObject]) { NSLog( @"Iteration... %@", [anObject name] ); NSLog( @"Build a stock..." ); PortfolioStocks *this_stock = (PortfolioStocks *)[NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:@"PortfolioStocks" inManagedObjectContext:context]; NSLog( @"Set a value..." ); [this_stock setSecurity:(Security *)anObject]; [this_stock setQuantity:[NSNumber numberWithInt:0]]; NSLog( @"Add to portfolioStocks..." ); [portfolioStocks addObject:this_stock]; } //Sorted properly up to here! NSLog( @"Add to portfolio..." ); [game setPortfolio:[NSSet setWithArray:portfolioStocks]]; // <-- This is where it's not sorted anymore.

  • UIActivityView and blocking

    - by Rob Bonner
Hello, I have a section of code that uploads an image: [activity startAnimating]; [self uploadImage:img Session_id:appDelegate.sessionID PlaceID:place.placeID Comment:comment.text]; [activity stopAnimating]; I am sure that activity is wired up correctly to a UIActivityViewIndicator, but it never shows. Inside the uploadImage function, I open a connection to the server and start the upload. Does anyone have an example or possible explanation as to why the activity view would not display?

  • UIImageView Fade-In Dissapears

    - by Winder
I have this code which should create a splash image with either no animation or a fade in, then call code to dismiss the image out after a delay. The SplashViewAnimationNone works fine and creates the full screen image, but the Fade code fades the image in but then immediately disappears. - (void)startSplash { [[[[UIApplication sharedApplication] windows] objectAtIndex:0] addSubview:self]; splashImage = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:self.image]; if (self.animationIn == SplashViewAnimationNone) { [self addSubview:splashImage]; } else if (self.animationIn == SplashViewAnimationFade) { [self addSubview:splashImage]; CABasicAnimation *animSplash = [CABasicAnimation animationWithKeyPath:@"opacity"]; animSplash.duration = self.animationDelay; animSplash.removedOnCompletion = NO; animSplash.fillMode = kCAFillModeForwards; animSplash.fromValue = [NSNumber numberWithFloat:0.0]; animSplash.toValue = [NSNumber numberWithFloat:1.0]; animSplash.delegate = self; [self.layer addAnimation:animSplash forKey:@"animateOpacity"]; } // Dismiss after delay. Hello all, I'm having trouble with playing audio stream using MPMoviePlayerController in the background. On the foreground it's playing the audio just fine, but when the application goes to the background, sound disappears and the time keeps going. I have initialized the AVAudioSession with AVAudioSessionCategoryPlayback and have put the required background modes to audio in info.plist file. Also I have set player.useApplicationAudioSession = YES;. What could be the possible problem here? Thanks in advance :)

  • Is it good choice to move a Sublayer around a view using UIPanGestureRecognizer?

    - by Pranjal Bikash Das
I have a CALayer and as sublayer to this CALayer i have added an imageLayer which contains an image of resolution 276x183. I added a UIPanGestureRecognizer to the main view and calculation the coordinates of the CALayer as follows: - (void)panned:(UIPanGestureRecognizer *)sender{ subLayer.frame=CGRectMake([sender locationInView:self.view].x-138, [sender locationInView:self.view].y-92, 276, 183); } in viedDidLoad i have: subLayer.backgroundColor=[UIColor whiteColor].CGColor; subLayer.frame=CGRectMake(22, 33, 276, 183); imageLayer.contents=(id)[UIImage imageNamed:@"A.jpg"].CGImage; imageLayer.frame=subLayer.bounds; imageLayer.masksToBounds=YES; imageLayer.cornerRadius=15.0; subLayer.shadowColor=[UIColor blackColor].CGColor; subLayer.cornerRadius=15.0; subLayer.shadowOpacity=0.8; subLayer.shadowOffset=CGSizeMake(0, 3); [subLayer addSublayer:imageLayer]; [self.view.layer addSublayer:subLayer]; It is giving desired output but a bit slow in the simulator. I have not yet tested it in Device. so my question is - Is it OK to move a CALayer containing an image??

  • Strategy to keep track of stored files in the documents directory?

    - by mystify
In my app, the user can save his input to disk. This is done with NSKeyedArchiver. Currently I simply name my files with a timestamp. But of course, the user may want to load one of them back in to keep on editing them. What would be the most reliable / safe strategy to keep track of those files? I need to present the user a list of those files, so that he can choose one to open. Currently I think of making an archived NSMutableArray which simply stores the file names, but I feel that this strategy is not really good. We all know when we save files sometimes something goes wrong, and this seems very likely to get currupted easily, or not? How would you do it?
