    Hello, I have a page called guestbook.php in which contains $('#guest_form').ajaxForm({}); When the form is triggered it goes to a save.php page which contains and values inserted if($_POST['x']){ $xx = $_POST['x']; $yy = $_POST['y']; $zz = $_POST['z']; $query_one = "INSERT INTO xxx (x1,yl,z1,z2) values ('$xx','$yy','$zz','00000')"; mysql_select_db($database_1, $1); $Result = mysql_query($query_guest_one, $1) or die(mysql_error()); So far so good. Now I run a select query based on the insert and display it in a div on the guestbook.php page. That is where I cannot do it. All help appreciated. Thanks Jean

  • Linq2SQL using Update StoredProcedure

    We use queries generated by Linq for data retrieval but for INSERT and UPDATE we do not allow generated SQL, but restrict to the use of stored procedures. I connected the Update and the Insert behaviour in the DBML to the stored procedures. The procedures are called, the data gets inserted/updated = all if fine, except in the case of optimistic concurrency. If a record was changed between retrieval and update, the update should fail. When Linq generates the Update statement itself, it throws a ChangeConflictException as expected, but using the stored procedure no Exception is thrown. Thanks a lot for any help on this!

  • Determine the 'Overtype' mode using Javascript

    We are creating a web app to replace an old-school green-screen application. In the green-screen app, as the user presses the Insert key to switch between overtype and insert modes, the cursor changes to indicate which input mode the user is currently in. In IE (which is the official browser of the company), overtype mode also works, but there's no visual indication as to whether overtype mode is on or not, until the user starts typing and possibly over-writes existing information unexpectedly. I'd like to put some sort of visual indicator on the screen if in overtype mode. How can you determine if the browser is in 'overtype mode' from Javascript? Is there some property or function i can query to determine if the browser is in overtype mode? Even an IE-specific solution would be helpful, since our corporate policy dictates the browser to use as IE7 (pure torture, btw). (I do know that one solution is to do check for key presses of the Insert key. However, it's a solution that I'd prefer to avoid since that method seems a bit flaky & error-prone because I can't guarantee what mode the user would be in BEFORE he/she hits my page. ) The reasoning behind this question: The functionality of this portion of the green-screen app is such that the user can select from a list of 'preformatted bodies of text'. crude eg. The excess for this policy is: $xxxxxx and max limit is:$xxxxxx Date of policy is: xx/xx/xxxx and expires : xx/xx/xxxx Some other irrelevant text After selecting this 'preformatted text', the user would then use overtype to replace the x's with actual values, without disturbing the alignment of the rest of the text. (To be clear, they can still edit any part of the 'preformatted text' if they so wished. It's just that usually, they just wish to replace specific portions of the text. Keeping the alignment is important since these sections of text can end up on printed documents.) Of course, the same effect can be achieved by just selecting the x's to replace first, but it would be helpful (with respect to easing the transition to the web app) to allow old methods of doing things to continue to work, while still allowing 'web methods' to be used by the more tech-savvy users. Essentially, we're trying to make the initial transition from the green-screen app to the web app be as seemless as possible to minimise the resistance from the long-time green-screeners.

  • How to limit JTextArea max Rows and Coloums?

    I am using JTextArea in JScrollPane I want to limit the maximum number of lines possible and the maximum chars in each line. I need that the string will be exactly like on the screen, each line will end with '\n' (if there another line after it) and the user will be able to insert only X lines and Y chars in each line. I tried to limit the lines but i don't know exactly how many lines do i have because of the line wrapping, The line wrapping is starting new line visualy on the screen(because of the width of the JTextArea) but in the string of the component it is really the same line with no '\n' to indicate new line. I do not have an idea how to limit the max chars in each line while typing. There are 2 stages: The typing of the string- keep that the user will not be able to type more then X lines and Y chars in each line. (even if the line wrap only visualy or the user typed '/n') Insert the string to the DB- after cliking 'OK' convert the string that every line will end with "/n" even if the user did not typed it and the line was wrapped only visualy. There are few problems if i will count the chars in the line and insert '/n' in the end of the line, thats why i decided to do it in two stages. In the first stage ehile the user is typing i would rather only limit it visualy and force line wrpping or something similar. Only in the second stage when i save string i will add the '/n' even if the user did not typed it in the end of the lines! Does anyone have an idea? I know that i will have to use DocumentFilter OR StyledDocument.     TLDR: Want to get each heading from an array and insert it into a div without knowing what is inside the div using Jquery - getJSON. Trying along the lines of $.getJSON(url, function(data){ $.each(data.items, function(i,item){ $('#testfield').html('<p>' + item.d.title + '</p>'); }); }); to no avail. I am using Getjson in other places but in cases where I know what request I am making. e.g: $('#livetime').html(data.Time); Which is all working perfectly fine but in this case I need to get the details out of the array without knowing what is inside the array I'm sure there is something simple that I'm missing here or doing wrong ^^.

    I have a view between other views, the order may vary. For example: viewA on top of viewB, on top of viewC, or in another order. Suppose I have viewA, viewB, viewC, viewD and viewE A is on the top and E on the bottom. I need to replace viewC with viewZ, but I need to insert viewZ in the same index of viewC. How do I know, before removing viewC, what index it has, so I can insert viewZ using [self.view insertSubview:viewZ atIndex:?????) and it will be at the same level? thanks for any help.

    In my question Insert Update stored proc on SQL Server I explained an efficient way of doing an insert/update - perhaps THE most efficient. It's nothing amazing but it's a small algorithm that I came up with in a mini-Eureka moment. Although I had "invented" it by myself and secretly hoped that I was the first to do so I knew that it had probably been around for years but after posting on a couple of lists and not getting confirmation I had never found anything definitive written up about it. So my questions: What software algorithm did you come up with that you thought that you'd invented? Or better yet, did you invent one?

  • CSS: Chrome and Safari seem to 'add' border to width, while IE, Firefox & Opera don't

    Hey guys, I'm trying to achieve cross-browser consistency for my website, but I have been trying all day now and its driving me nuts (0.38 am here in Europe now..). It's about this page: http://www[insert-dot-here]geld[insert-dash-here]surfen[insert-dot-here]nl/uitbetalingen.html (please note that I prefer this URL not to be made crawlable for seo-bots) If you view this page in IE, Firefox or Opera, everything is fine, but in Chrome and Safari the tables are a little out of line (as you'll probably clearly notice). What seems to be the problem?; it appears to me that in Chrome and Safari the left and right border (2px) in total are added to the set table width, while in the other browsers the border is considered part of the width. The (most) relevant CSS-lines are the following ones (from the tabel.css-file, also available through the page's source file): table.uitbetaling { margin: 11px 18px 10px 19px; border: 1px solid #8ccaee; width: 498px; padding: 0; } table.uitbetaling img, table.uitbetaling td { margin: 0; border: 0; padding: 0; width: 496px; } table.uitbetaling tr { margin: 0; border: 0; padding: 0 1px 0 0; } So basically I have used a table-structure to organize images, like this; (the class of the table is 'uitbetaling') <table> <tr><td><img /></td></tr> <tr><td><img /></td></tr> ... <tr><td><img /></td></tr> </table> If, here, I set the width of 'table.uitbetaling' and 'table.uitbetaling img, table.uitbetaling td' to the same value (e.g. both 496 or 498), the 'problem' in Chrome and Safari is solved, however in Firefox the right side border is than blank. Because the right-side border can't 'fit' in anymore. 'img' and 'td' must be at least 2px more narrow than 'table.uitbetaling' for the right-border be visible in Firefox.     Hi, I have added one contact to android by following code. ContentValues values = new ContentValues(); Uri rawContactUri = getContentResolver().insert(RawContacts.CONTENT_URI, values); long rawContactId = ContentUris.parseId(rawContactUri); values.clear(); values.put(Data.RAW_CONTACT_ID, rawContactId); values.put(Data.MIMETYPE, StructuredName.CONTENT_ITEM_TYPE); values.put(StructuredName.DISPLAY_NAME, "Mike Sullivan"); getContentResolver().insert(Data.CONTENT_URI, values); It shows up on emulator 2.1, but when i am going to delete it manually by "delete contact" option, its not deleteing from emulator. If I edit some thing on it then only it deletes. How can i directly delete it from menu ? Thanks in advance...
