  • iPhone UIWebView initial focus?

    I have a simple app with a full screen UIWebView. This contains HTML generated by the app. I respond to clicks on various elements of the page via document.location = "someCommand" I have to touch the screen once before it will respond to a second touch. It's almost like it is not the focused control. it is the only view in the app. How can I ensure that the first time the UIWebView is touched it responds?

  • Clickable TextView in Android

    i'm building an Android App that has many many TextView that i want to be clickable. I've tried to assign to the single TextView the properties android:clickable="true" and android:onClick="clickHandler" and when the app fires the clickHandler(View v) i correctly get, through the v.getId(), the clicked item. What i don't like is to define, for every TextView, the properties android:clickable and android:onClick ... is there something that i can do by code to say: "all the textviews are clickable and click is handled in 'clickHandler' ?"     In our organization, we are still on .net 1.1 environment, using javascript, a few open source applications/widgets. Development is done using Visual Studio 2003, grid view, and iframes. Our application works in Internet Explorer 7 and IE 8 (in compatibilily mode). Can anyone give any basic steps we can take to get our application to work cross browsers? What are the starting locations we can get at to start making existing code work in different browsers?

  • Trying to filter a ListView with runQueryOnBackgroundThread but nothing happens - what am I missing?

    I have a list of countries in a database. I have created a select country activity that consists of a edit box for filtering and a list which displays the flag and country name. When the activity starts the list shows the entire list of countries sorted alphabetically - works fine. When the customer starts typing into the search box I want the list to be filtered based on their typing. My database query was previously working in an AutoCompleteView (I just want to switch to a separate text box and list) so I know my full query and my constraint query are working. What I did was add a TextWatcher to the EditText view and every time the text is changed I invoke the list's SimpleCursorAdapter runQueryOnBackgroundThread with the edit boxes text as the constraint. The trouble is the list is never updated. I have set breakpoints in the debugger and the TextWatcher does make the call to runQueryOnBackgroundThread and my FilterQueryProvider is called with the expected constraint. The database query goes fine and the cursor is returned. The cursor adapter has a filter query provider set (and a view binder to display the flag): SimpleCursorAdapter adapter = new SimpleCursorAdapter (this, R.layout.country_list_row, countryCursor, from, to); adapter.setFilterQueryProvider (new CountryFilterProvider ()); adapter.setViewBinder (new FlagViewBinder ()); The FitlerQueryProvider: private final class CountryFilterProvider implements FilterQueryProvider { @Override public Cursor runQuery (CharSequence constraint) { Cursor countryCursor = myDbHelper.getCountryList (constraint); startManagingCursor (countryCursor); return countryCursor; } } And the EditText has a TextWatcher: myCountrySearchText = (EditText)findViewById (R.id.entry); myCountrySearchText.setHint (R.string.country_hint); myCountrySearchText.addTextChangedListener (new TextWatcher() { @Override public void afterTextChanged (Editable s) { SimpleCursorAdapter filterAdapter = (SimpleCursorAdapter)myCountryList.getAdapter (); filterAdapter.runQueryOnBackgroundThread (s.toString ()); } @Override public void onTextChanged (CharSequence s, int start, int before, int count) { // no work to do } @Override public void beforeTextChanged (CharSequence s, int start, int count, int after) { // no work to do } }); The query for the database looks like this: public Cursor getCountryList (CharSequence constraint) { if (constraint == null || constraint.length () == 0) { // Return the full list of countries return myDataBase.query (DATABASE_COUNTRY_TABLE, new String[] { KEY_ROWID, KEY_COUNTRYNAME, KEY_COUNTRYCODE }, null, null, null, null, KEY_COUNTRYNAME); } else { // Return a list of countries who's name contains the passed in constraint return myDataBase.query (DATABASE_COUNTRY_TABLE, new String[] { KEY_ROWID, KEY_COUNTRYNAME, KEY_COUNTRYCODE }, "Country like '%" + constraint.toString () + "%'", null, null, null, "CASE WHEN Country like '" + constraint.toString () + "%' THEN 0 ELSE 1 END, Country"); } } It just seems like there is a missing link somewhere.     In my view, if I have a situation where I need to use a dynamic method (such as Domain.findByName("name")) in multiple places, would it be better to define a variable with and refer to that, rather than have the dynamic method in multiple places? I know this seems like an obvious answer, but I just wanted to make sure Grails doesn't cache it or something, and indeed two DB calls are being made.

How can you compare the current state of the remote repository (with the 3 changesets checked in) vs. the current source (on your local machine)? I'd like to do this using the visual diff tool which I currently have configured (Examdiff or Kdiff3).

    I want to use enumeratorAtURL:includingPropertiesForKeys:options:errorHandler: to do this, as I'm coding under Snow Leopard. I know how to use this method. However, as for my purposes it's not adequate to load the contents lazily, I have the following question: How can I create an object hierarchy (of, say, the custom FileOrDirectory class with the standard children,count,isLeaf attributes) from the information I load from the enumeratorAtURL: method? I need to load this data beforehand, and show it in an outline view, for my purposes.

    Hello, I have a section of code that uploads an image: [activity startAnimating]; [self uploadImage:img Session_id:appDelegate.sessionID PlaceID:place.placeID Comment:comment.text]; [activity stopAnimating]; I am sure that activity is wired up correctly to a UIActivityViewIndicator, but it never shows. Inside the uploadImage function, I open a connection to the server and start the upload. Does anyone have an example or possible explanation as to why the activity view would not display?

I found this bug report: http://ironpython.codeplex.com/WorkItem/View.aspx?WorkItemId=8143 But that is from 2008, and nowhere can I find ICustomAttributes or PythonNameAttribute. I don't see anything useful in Interfaces.cs either. Can someone point me in the right direction?
