  • IIS7 - Basic Authentication Module missing?

    I'd like to use basic HTTP authentication to keep people out of our dev site instance since it is unfortantly exposed to the wild internet. However, in IIS7, the only authentication modes listed are Forms, Anonymous and Impersonation. Where did the "Basic Authentication" module go, and how can I get it back?

  • Patches after updating to ESX 4 U1

    Hi, I have one server with ESX 4 U1 installed through downloaded dvd from Vmware site. How do I know what patches I need to install? When I check the Patch Repository, i see that the release date for the update is Dec.9,2009. Does it mean that I don't need any patches before that date?     Hi All, I have a Telerik RadEditor on the sharepoint and iam unable to edit the webpart. How can i edit the webpart, please suggest. The “Edit” option is not visible although i have clicked on “edit page” from site actions. IMP:- the webpart uses 3 images all of which are of size 567X113 pixels.   • Best Way to Load Streaming Media Content in Intranet

    Hello, What would be the best way to deal with large streaming media content in Intranet. We have a 50 MB file that is to be loaded to our Intranet site. Currently we have just pointed it to a file location instead of using a Data Streaming Server. This will download to each client when selected and is obviously not a good approach to accessing streaming media when accessing from overseas offices. Any suggestions? Cheers, Magic

    Hi, I recently have moved my server and changed nameservers and ip, i updated my domain. but somehow in windows 7 when i go to my domain, it resolves old ip even though mac os x shows the new site. Then i edited hosts file with the new ip in windows, it is ok now. but why this happens ? is it about isp cache or sth ? thanks

Just realized though that the maintenance block examples for nginx take the site down for everyone. How do you serve the maintenance page to visitors will still allowing localhost access. Should I just create a new server block listening on another port and deny all, allow 127.0.0.1?

  • How can I make Google Chrome display a plain text HTTP response, rather than downloading it in a fil

    There's a web site I visit that includes a document which is returned with content type text/plain and my version of Google Chrome used to display it in the browser window, as plain text. I like it that way. However, it has started to download the document now when I visit it, instead, meaning I have to open it with a text editor to view it. How can I make Chrome return to the old behaviour?

    For some reason(Happened before I started working on this project)- my client's website has 2 duplicates of every single file. Effectively tripling the size of the site. The files look much like this: wp-comments-post.php | 3,982 bytes wp-comments-post (john smith's conflicted copy 2012-01-12).php | 3,982 bytes wp-comments-post (JohnSmith's conflicted copy 2012-01-14).php | 3,982 bytes The hosting that the website is on has no access to bash or SSH. In your opinion, what would be the easiest way to delete these duplicate files that would take the least time?

    This fails: $ curl --trace multipart-fail.log -F "source={}" http://127.0.0.1:3003/jslint With a squid status 417 error, ERR_INVALID_REQ. trace of failing curl request trace of successful curl request that uses urlencoding (curl -d) instead of multipart (curl -F) formatted version of squid's error message I've never had this in practice through a web browser, so it's probably curl usage instead of squid, but if I tell curl not to use the squid proxy, the web application on the other end accepts it just fine. (If there's a more appropriate StackExchange site for this, please let me know.)

I uninstall the old SDk and double click the .dmg file then i got a popup stating that "The following Disk Images couldnt found" and "xcode_3.2.2.2_and_iPhone_SDK_3.2_final.dmg is not recognized".   • What is error 324? Is it related to Google Chrome? Or Verizon Webmail?

    My in-laws are having trouble with signing into their Verizon Webmail account at webmail.verizon.net, only when they are on their wireless network. When they try to log in from wireless they get "Error 324" in the browser, in both Google Chrome and Internet Explorer 8. But they can access any other site, and they can get on their Verizon email when they plug in directly to the browser. Why is this?

For example, for any anonymous request to http://www.mycompany.com, I would like to serve up http://myinternal as though MYDOMAIN/GuestAccount were accessing the site. Is this even possible in ISA/TMG? If so, where do I go to configure this?

Ive been getting reports form people who try accessing my site from a PS3, that every page appears like a jumble of random characters on a white background, sorta like echoing out a gzipped string as plain text. Im using nginx. Does the PS3 browser not support gzipping? Anything I can do except disabling it?

  • Unable to load type error in ASP.NET 4 application on Windows Server 2003 / IIS6 -- only happens after first worker process recycle

    I'm running an ASP.NET 4.0 web application on IIS6 (Windows Server 2003 x64). This app is one of many running on this server under the Default Web Site -- but is alone on it's own application pool because the other sites are all running ASP.NET 2.0 still. When I deploy my application, it works just fine until the application pool recycles or kills its worker process (by default 2 hours or 20 minutes with no activity). After this, I get the error: "Unable to load one or more of the requested types. Retrieve the LoaderExceptions property for more information.   • How can I prevent firefox from using bitmap fonts at certain zoom levels?

    In firefox 3.6 on Ubuntu 9.10, certain sites seem to use bitmap fonts for any fixed-width fonts, but only at specific zoom levels. This site and other stackexchange sites are among the affected sites, and of course the default zoom level is affected. At unaffected zoom levels, I get the expected smooth curvy fonts. How can I make firefox use the nice curvy smooth fonts at all zoom levels?
