  • Unwanted horizontal scroll bar in IE7

  • Read from file in eclipse

    I'm trying to read from a text file to input data to my java program. However, eclipse continuosly gives me a Source not found error no matter where I put the file. I've made an additional sources folder in the project directory, the file in question is in both it and the bin file for the project and it still can't find it. I even put a copy of it on my desktop and tried pointing eclipse there when it asked me to browse for the source lookup path. No matter what I do it can't find the file. here's my code in case it's pertinent: System.out.println(System.getProperty("user.dir")); File file = new File("file.txt"); Scanner scanner = new Scanner(file); in addition, it says the user directory is the project directory and there is a copy there too.   • Detect use of older Java libraries

    Is there a third party library to detect the use of a Java 1.5 library when compiling with a 1.5 compiler with -source 1.4 and -target 1.4? I could use a 1.4 rt.jar in the bootclasspath however I hope there is a better way. To be used, for example, to fail the compile/build if a newer library is used.

    After using Git from the command line for a while, I am ready for the convenience a GUI plugin (for Eclipse) can offer. However, I prefer a Git plugin similar to to MS Visual Studio's Git Source Control Provider which is only a wrapper around the already installed msysgit. I really don't want two different Git implementations accessing the same repository. EGit sounds perfect - if it can use the already installed msysgit in my PC. But can it?

  • Why does the web page I fetch with Perl look odd?

    I have a Perl script to open this page http://svejo.net/popular/all/new/ and filter the names of the posts but except headers everything seems encrypted. Nothing can be read. When I open the same page in a browser everything looks fine including the source code. How is it possible to encrypt a page for a script and not for a browser? My Perl script sends the same headers as my browser (Google Chrome).

I'd like to give the users of this language some minimalistic ide to work with, but i don't want/have time to make one from scratch so i'd like to take one already existing (it has to run on Linux platforms natively, so no windows-only editors plz) and customize it. I know the source of contents are from volunteers (Please correct me if I'm wrong here). But what measures they have to ensure that contents are properly written. Even if they have admin/moderator and all that, they may not be experts in all areas. So how do they validate the appropriateness of the content?

  • Wierdness debugging Visual Studio C++ 2008

    I have a legacy C++ app, that in its most incarnation we've been building with makefiles and VS2003's command-line tool. I'm trying to get it to build using VS2008 and MsBuild. The build is working OK, but I'm getting errors where I'd never seen errors, before, and stepping through in VS2008's debugger only confuses me. The app links a number of static libraries, which fall into two categories: those that are part of the same application suite, and those that are shared between a number of application suites. Originally, I had a .csproj file for each static library, and two .sln files, one for the application suite (including the suite-specific libraries) and one for the non-suite-specific shared libraries. The shared libraries were included in the link, their projects were not included in the application suite .sln. The application instantiates an object from a class that is defined in one of the shared libraries. The class has a member object of a class that wraps a linked list. The constructor of the linked list class sets its "head" pointer to null. When I run the app, and try to add an element to the linked list, I get an error - the head pointer contains the value 0xCCCCCCCC. So I step through with the debugger. And see weirdness. When the current line in the debugger is in a source file belonging to the static library, the head pointer contains 0x00000000. When I step into the constructor, I can see the pointer being set to that value, and when I'm stepped into any other method of the class, I can see that the head pointer still contains 0x00000000. But when I step out into methods that are defined in the application suite .sln, it contains 0xCCCCCCCC. It's not like it's being overwritten. It changes back and forth depending upon which source file I am currently debugging. So I included the shared library's project in the application suite .sln, and now I see the head pointer containing 0xCCCCCCCC all the time. It looks like the constructor of the linked list class is not being called. So now, I'm entirely confused. Anyone have any ideas?

  • Vim, vimgrep, and file caching

    My entire source code base is < 20MB. I want it all loaded in memory in the background. So that when I do vimgrep */.cpp */.cxx */.hpp , it doesn't ahve to do file IO since vim has loaded all the files into memory already. How can I achieve this? Thakns!

Can anyone tell me if there are any implications in using NULL to represent empty value? Should I follow some other convention like 'data_not_available'? or something like that? Can anyone suggest?

  • pageTest C# wrapper
