  • How to create a column that can never be updated?

    In SQL Server 2008, is it possible to create a column that can have a value inserted into it, but can never be updated? In other words, the column can have an initial value inserted into it, but once it contains a non-null value, it can never be changed. If possible, I would prefer to do it without using a trigger.     Hi everyone, I use MonoDevelop 2.2.2 with Mono 2.6.3 on OpenSuse so the linq to sql feature is implemented. But I have the problem I can create a new connexion to a postgresql database it's ok but when I click in Tool - Generate Data classes and select the connexion I've created before I obtain nothing, no tables appear. What's the problem ?

    I have a C++ application that needs to support binary database content (images, etc). When using MS Access or MS SQL Server this data is wrapped inside an OLE object. How do I strip this OLE header information? Note that I can't just look for the beginning of a specific tag as the content can be png, jpg and a whole heap of other formats. Should I use something like COleDataObject?

    I'm trying to execute a PL/SQL function in EclipseLink which uses Oracle Specific types(eg. Boolean). I've tried using PLSQLStoredProcedureCall which complains that I'm not executing a procedure and I have tried using StoredFunctionCall but that returns PLS-00382: expression is of wrong type Has anyone developed a solution to invoke functions in EclipseLink with Oracle Types? I have heard that it would be possible to extend StoredFunctionCall but I'd rather leverage existing functionality as much as possible.
