  • Trying to install mysql then lots of brew doctor errors

    - by gdi2290
    I couldn't install mysql I get this brew install mysql Error: You must `brew link cmake' before mysql can be installed so then I type brew ink cmake Linking /usr/local/Cellar/cmake/2.8.8... Error: Could not symlink file: /usr/local/Cellar/cmake/2.8.8/share/doc/cmake /usr/local/share/doc is not writable. You should change its permissions. when I typed brew doctor I get this Error: Some directories in /usr/local/share/locale aren't writable. This can happen if you "sudo make install" software that isn't managed by Homebrew. If a brew tries to add locale information to one of these directories, then the install will fail during the link step. You should probably chown them: /usr/local/share/locale/ar /usr/local/share/locale/ar/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/be /usr/local/share/locale/be/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/bg /usr/local/share/locale/bg/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/bs /usr/local/share/locale/bs/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/ca /usr/local/share/locale/ca/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/cs /usr/local/share/locale/cs/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/da /usr/local/share/locale/da/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/de /usr/local/share/locale/de/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/de_AT /usr/local/share/locale/de_AT/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/de_CH /usr/local/share/locale/de_CH/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/de_DE /usr/local/share/locale/de_DE/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/el /usr/local/share/locale/el/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/en_AU /usr/local/share/locale/en_AU/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/en_CA /usr/local/share/locale/en_CA/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/en_GB /usr/local/share/locale/en_GB/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/eo /usr/local/share/locale/eo/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/es /usr/local/share/locale/es/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/es_ES /usr/local/share/locale/es_ES/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/es_PE /usr/local/share/locale/es_PE/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/et /usr/local/share/locale/et/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/fi /usr/local/share/locale/fi/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/fr /usr/local/share/locale/fr/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/fr_FR /usr/local/share/locale/fr_FR/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/gl /usr/local/share/locale/gl/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/he /usr/local/share/locale/he/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/hi /usr/local/share/locale/hi/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/hr /usr/local/share/locale/hr/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/hu /usr/local/share/locale/hu/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/hu_HU /usr/local/share/locale/hu_HU/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/id /usr/local/share/locale/id/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/it /usr/local/share/locale/it/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/ja /usr/local/share/locale/ja/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/ka /usr/local/share/locale/ka/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/ko /usr/local/share/locale/ko/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/lv /usr/local/share/locale/lv/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/mr /usr/local/share/locale/mr/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/nb /usr/local/share/locale/nb/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/nds /usr/local/share/locale/nds/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/nl /usr/local/share/locale/nl/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/nn /usr/local/share/locale/nn/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/oc /usr/local/share/locale/oc/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/pl /usr/local/share/locale/pl/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/pt /usr/local/share/locale/pt/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/pt_BR /usr/local/share/locale/pt_BR/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/pt_PT /usr/local/share/locale/pt_PT/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/ro /usr/local/share/locale/ro/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/ru /usr/local/share/locale/ru/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/sk /usr/local/share/locale/sk/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/sr /usr/local/share/locale/sr/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/sv /usr/local/share/locale/sv/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/ta /usr/local/share/locale/ta/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/te /usr/local/share/locale/te/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/tr /usr/local/share/locale/tr/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/uk /usr/local/share/locale/uk/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/vi /usr/local/share/locale/vi/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/zh_CN /usr/local/share/locale/zh_CN/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/zh_HK /usr/local/share/locale/zh_HK/LC_MESSAGES /usr/local/share/locale/zh_TW /usr/local/share/locale/zh_TW/LC_MESSAGES Error: The /usr/local directory is not writable. • iPhone SDK NSString To NSDate

    - by disp
    I got a string from parsing a XML file which looks like this: Fri, 09 Apr 2010 00:00:45 +0200 and the corresponding pattern should be this "EEE, dd MMM yyyy HH:mm:ss ZZ", but I get (null). This is my code: NSString *dateString = @"Fri, 09 Apr 2010 00:00:45 +0200"; NSDateFormatter *dateFormatter = [[NSDateFormatter alloc] init]; [dateFormatter setDateFormat:@"EEE, dd MMM yyyy HH:mm:ss ZZ"]; NSDate *date = [dateFormatter dateFromString:dateString]; NSLog(@"date:%@",date); // result date:(null) Edit: This works for me now, I had to switch to en-US locale: NSLocale* usLocale = [[NSLocale alloc] initWithLocaleIdentifier:@"en-US"]; NSDateFormatter *dateFormatter = [[NSDateFormatter alloc] init]; [dateFormatter setLocale:usLocale]; [dateFormatter setDateFormat:@"EEE, dd MMM yyyy HH:mm:ss ZZ"]; NSDate *date = [dateFormatter dateFromString:dateString];

  • WPF databind Image.Source in MVVM

    - by BrettRobi
I'm using MVVM and am trying to databind the Source property of Image to my ViewModel in such a way that I can change the icon on the fly. What is the best pattern to follow for this? I still have the flexibility to change my ViewModel to suit, but I don't know where to start in either the xaml or ViewModel. To be clear, I don't want my ViewModel to know about the specific images (that's for the View to know), just the state that triggers different images. For now I have just two states, lets say Red and Green. Should I create an Enum property or a bool? And then how do I databind to switch the image source?

  • Android: onKeyDown() problem

    - by niko
Hi, I would like to create a photo/video capture application. I have created a CaptureView class which extends SurfaceView and placed it in the main form. The main form's activity has onCreateOptionsMenu() method which creates a menu. The menu worked fine but then I tried to implement a method onKeyDown: @Override public boolean onKeyDown(int keyCode, KeyEvent event) { if(event.getAction() == KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN) { switch(keyCode) { case KeyEvent.KEYCODE_CAMERA: videoPreview.TakePicture(); return true; } } return super.onKeyDown(keyCode, event); } The menu doesn't appear anymore and the method doesn't catch onKeyDown event. Does anyone know what could be the reason for this issue? Thanks!

  • What's the best C# recommendation engine or framework?

    - by cDima
Is there anyway to use the examples for the "My Media" Microsoft research project? My Media is a "dynamic personalization and recommendation software framework toolkit" ( http://www.mymediaproject.org ), but out of the box it doesn't provide a sample database (only a LINQ-to-SQL .dbml schema), I don't believe it will be easy to re-create by hand. I was hoping to understand recommendation engines and machine learning with this C#/.Net as a testbed, but without a simple quick start or db it seems impractical. Any suggestions? (I guess it's time to switch to Java with Apache's Mahout, Weka or something similar?)

  • EF4, self tracking, repository pattern, SQL Server 2008 AND SQL Server Compact

    - by Darren
Hi, I am creating a project using Entity Frameworks 4 and self tracking entities. I want to be able to either get the data from a sql server 2008 database or from sql server compact database (with the switch being in the config file). I am using the repository pattern and I will have the self tracking entities sitting in a separate assembly. Do I need two edmx files? If so, how do I generate only one set of STE's in the separate assembly? Also do I need to generate two context classes as well? I am unsure of the plumbing for all this. Can anyone help? Darren I forgot to add that the two databases will be identical and that the compact version is for offline usage.

  • Creating a constant Dictionary in C#

    - by David Schmitt
What is the most efficient way to create a constant (never changes at runtime) mapping of strings to ints? I've tried using a const Dictionary, but that didn't work out. I could implement a immutable wrapper with appropriate semantics, but that still doesn't seem totally right. For those who have asked, I'm implementing IDataErrorInfo in a generated class and am looking for a way to make the columnName lookup into my array of descriptors. I wasn't aware (typo when testing! d'oh!) that switch accepts strings, so that's what I'm gonna use. Thanks!

  • JavaMail not sending Subject or From under jetty:run-war

    - by Jason Thrasher
Has anyone seen JavaMail not sending proper MimeMessages to an SMTP server, depending on how the JVM in started? At the end of the day, I can't send JavaMail SMTP messages with Subject: or From: fields, and it appears other headers are missing, only when running the app as a war. The web project is built with Maven and I'm testing sending JavaMail using a browser and a simple mail.jsp to debug and see different behavior when launching the app with: 1) mvn jetty:run (mail sends fine, with proper Subject and From fields) 2) mvn jetty:run-war (mail sends fine, but missing Subject, From, and other fields) I've meticulously run diff on the (verbose) Maven debug output (-X), and there are zero differences in the runtime dependencies between the two. I've also compared System properties, and they are identical. Something else is happening the jetty:run-war case that changes the way JavaMail behaves. What other stones need turning? Curiously, I've tried a debugger in both situations and found that the javax.mail.internet.MimeMessage instance is getting created differently. The webapp is using Spring to send email picked off of an Apache ActiveMQ queue. When running the app as mvn jetty:run the MimeMessage.contentStream variable is used for message content. When running as mvn jetty:run-war, the MimeMessage.content variable is used for the message contents, and the content = ASCIIUtility.getBytes(is); call removes all of the header data from the parsed content. Since this seemed very odd, and debugging Spring/ActiveMQ is a deep dive, I created a simplified test without any of that infrastructure: just a JSP using mail-1.4.2.jar, yet the same headers are missing. Also of note, these headers are missing when running the WAR file under Tomcat 5.5.27. Tomcat behaves just like Jetty when running the WAR, with the same missing headers. With JavaMail debugging turned on, I clearly see different output. GOOD CASE: In the jetty:run (non-WAR) the log output is: DEBUG: JavaMail version 1.4.2 DEBUG: successfully loaded resource: /META-INF/javamail.default.providers DEBUG: Tables of loaded providers DEBUG: Providers Listed By Class Name: {com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPSSLTransport=javax.mail.Provider[TRANSPORT,smtps,com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPSSLTransport,Sun Microsystems, Inc], com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPTransport=javax.mail.Provider[TRANSPORT,smtp,com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPTransport,Sun Microsystems, Inc], com.sun.mail.imap.IMAPSSLStore=javax.mail.Provider[STORE,imaps,com.sun.mail.imap.IMAPSSLStore,Sun Microsystems, Inc], com.sun.mail.pop3.POP3SSLStore=javax.mail.Provider[STORE,pop3s,com.sun.mail.pop3.POP3SSLStore,Sun Microsystems, Inc], com.sun.mail.imap.IMAPStore=javax.mail.Provider[STORE,imap,com.sun.mail.imap.IMAPStore,Sun Microsystems, Inc], com.sun.mail.pop3.POP3Store=javax.mail.Provider[STORE,pop3,com.sun.mail.pop3.POP3Store,Sun Microsystems, Inc]} DEBUG: Providers Listed By Protocol: {imaps=javax.mail.Provider[STORE,imaps,com.sun.mail.imap.IMAPSSLStore,Sun Microsystems, Inc], imap=javax.mail.Provider[STORE,imap,com.sun.mail.imap.IMAPStore,Sun Microsystems, Inc], smtps=javax.mail.Provider[TRANSPORT,smtps,com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPSSLTransport,Sun Microsystems, Inc], pop3=javax.mail.Provider[STORE,pop3,com.sun.mail.pop3.POP3Store,Sun Microsystems, Inc], pop3s=javax.mail.Provider[STORE,pop3s,com.sun.mail.pop3.POP3SSLStore,Sun Microsystems, Inc], smtp=javax.mail.Provider[TRANSPORT,smtp,com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPTransport,Sun Microsystems, Inc]} DEBUG: successfully loaded resource: /META-INF/javamail.default.address.map DEBUG: getProvider() returning javax.mail.Provider[TRANSPORT,smtp,com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPTransport,Sun Microsystems, Inc] DEBUG SMTP: useEhlo true, useAuth true DEBUG SMTP: trying to connect to host "mail.authsmtp.com", port 465, isSSL false 220 mail.authsmtp.com ESMTP Sendmail 8.14.2/8.14.2/Kp; Thu, 18 Jun 2009 01:35:24 +0100 (BST) DEBUG SMTP: connected to host "mail.authsmtp.com", port: 465 EHLO jmac.local 250-mail.authsmtp.com Hello sul-pubs-3a.Stanford.EDU [171.66.201.2], pleased to meet you 250-ENHANCEDSTATUSCODES 250-PIPELINING 250-8BITMIME 250-SIZE 52428800 250-AUTH CRAM-MD5 DIGEST-MD5 LOGIN PLAIN 250-DELIVERBY 250 HELP DEBUG SMTP: Found extension "ENHANCEDSTATUSCODES", arg "" DEBUG SMTP: Found extension "PIPELINING", arg "" DEBUG SMTP: Found extension "8BITMIME", arg "" DEBUG SMTP: Found extension "SIZE", arg "52428800" DEBUG SMTP: Found extension "AUTH", arg "CRAM-MD5 DIGEST-MD5 LOGIN PLAIN" DEBUG SMTP: Found extension "DELIVERBY", arg "" DEBUG SMTP: Found extension "HELP", arg "" DEBUG SMTP: Attempt to authenticate DEBUG SMTP: check mechanisms: LOGIN PLAIN DIGEST-MD5 AUTH LOGIN 334 VXNlcm5hjbt7 YWM0MDkwhi== 334 UGFzc3dvjbt7 YXV0aHNtdHAydog3 235 2.0.0 OK Authenticated DEBUG SMTP: use8bit false MAIL FROM:<[email protected]> 250 2.1.0 <[email protected]>... • Multiple Silverlight Unit Test Projects in Solution

    - by IUnknown
I am building out a number of Silverlight 4.0 libraries that are part of the same solution. I like to break them into separate projects and have a Unit Test project for each: SolutionX -LibraryProject1 ---Class1.cs ---Class2.cs -LibraryProject1.Test ---Tests1.cs ---Tests2.cs -LibraryProject2 ---Class1.cs ---Class2.cs ---CLass3.cs -LibraryProject2.Test ---Tests1.cs ---Tests2.cs ---Tests3.cs -LibraryProject3 ---Class1.cs -LibraryProject3.Test ---Tests1.cs This works great when using VS regular test projects and infrastructure because I can create and execute list of test that are aggregated from each Test project. But with the Silverlight Unit Test Framework since the Silverlight Unit Test Project must be the "start up project" I cannot figure how to run a collection of tests from each test project in one go. I have to run each separately then switch the starting project each time. I would prefer to avoid create complex build scripts or build definitions - is there a way to run all the tests at once? -Thanks

  • Android TabHost: update tabs from tab's activity

    - by joshuadlillie
I have a TabActivity and am going to have 3 or 4 tabs. In TabA, I would like to have an ExpandableListView, which will list products. I would like TabC to act as a sort of "shopping cart", probably with a ListView of itself. So, my question is: is there a way to interact with the TabHost from the Activity? I would like to be able to click a button inside of TabA and have it update and switch to TabC. Is this possible? Can I get the Tab's activities call it's parents methods?

I have an application which have code like: window = [[UIWindow alloc] initWithFrame:[[UIScreen mainScreen] bounds]]; // UIWindow *window; viewController = [TopicsViewController new]; //TopicsViewController *viewController; //This is a UITableViewController navigationController = [UINavigationController new]; // UINavigationController *navigationController; UIImageView *background = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"background.png"]]; [self.navigationController.view addSubview:background]; [self.navigationController.view sendSubviewToBack:background]; [navigationController pushViewController:viewController animated:YES]; [window addSubview:[navigationController view]]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; Basically i am using UINavigationController and then push UITableViewController or sometime a UIViewController. UIViewController contain elements such as UITextView, UIImage, UIScrollView. Problem is i have been trying to make this application respond to iphone rotation e.g. when held in landscape, application should switch to landscape and vice versa, but nothing works so far.

  • C# Conditional Compilation and framework targets

    - by McKAMEY
There are a few minor places where code for my project may be able to be drastically improved if the target framework were a newer version. I'd like to be able to better leverage conditional compilation in C# to switch these as needed. Something like: #if NET_40 using FooXX = Foo40; #elif NET_35 using FooXX = Foo35; #else using FooXX = Foo20; #endif Do these symbols come for free? Do I need to inject these symbols as part of the project configuration? Seems easy enough to do since I'll know which framework is being targeted from msbuild. I think I've seen that NET_40 symbol isn't defined? If so I think I could do this? #if !NET_35 && !NET_20 #define NET_40 #endif Or do I need to define it in the msbuild command: /p:DefineConstants="NET_40"

  • Component based game engine design

    - by a_m0d
I have been looking at game engine design (specifically focused on 2d game engines, but also applicable to 3d games), and am interested in some information on how to go about it. I have heard that many engines are moving to a component based design nowadays rather than the traditional deep-object hierarchy. Do you know of any good links with information on how these sorts of designs are often implemented? I have seen evolve your hierarchy, but I can't really find many more with detailed information (most of them just seem to say "use components rather than a hierarchy" but I have found that it takes a bit of effort to switch my thinking between the two models). Any good links or information on this would be appreciated, and even books, although links and detailed answers here would be preferred.

  • How to change VS2010 Add Reference box filter ?

    - by rook
I'm getting used to the new IDE (it's vc# express), but the first contact is somewhat confusing. When I open the Add Reference dialog and switch to the .NET tab, a label above the assembly list states: "Filtered to:.NET Framework 4". And it's true - I can reference .NET 4.0 assemblies only plus things like XNA 3.1. However I can't see older assemblies i.e. Managed DirectX libs, which are obviously installed on my computer as there was no trouble with adding a ref to them in vc#08. What is this? How to change the filter? The label is read-only. These sound like dull guy's questions, but I'm out of lack of finding an answer and there is no intuitive solution. Thanks in advance.

  • Is git / tortoisegit ready to replace snv / tortoisesvn on windows?

    - by opensas
I've been using svn thru tortoise and svn:// protocol on windows for a couple of years and I'm pretty comfortable with it. Nevertheless tThere are a couple of features I'd like to hove, mainly shelves (something like local commits) and easier branch / merge support. From my experience, svn / tortoise on windows is rock solid stuff. I was wondering if git / tortoisegit has achieved the level of maturity and stability so as to be a replacement for svn on windows. Any experience about it? saludos sas some links: a similar question, only a bit outdated http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1500400/is-tortoisegit-ready-for-prime-time-yet http://stackoverflow.com/questions/931105/tortoisegit-tortoisebzr-tortoisehg-are-any-solid-enough-to-switch-from-tortois (well, it seems like mercurial could be an option) http://code.google.com/p/tortoisegit/ http://www.syntevo.com/smartgit/index.html (free of charge for non-commercial use or to active members of the Open Source community)

  • micro-SD card initialization using SPI interface

    - by Ron
I'm using a micro-SD card in an embedded design. The card is connected to a microcontroller using the SPI interface. It worked fine for all cards I've used before, but now my new card will not initialize. The card is a Transcend 2GB micro-SD card (TS2GUSD). After sending the initial clock train to switch to SPI mode I do the following: 1) CMD0 (Argument 0, CRC 0x95) - Response 0x01 - OK 2) CMD8 (Argument 0x000001AA, CRC 0x87) - Response 0x01 0x000001AA - Means it's SDC V2+ card, the Voltage range 2.7V~3.6V is supported - OK Then I should send the ACMD41 command, but when sending the CMD55 (argument 0, CRC 0) that must precede CMD41, I get response 0x05 - Illegal Command. I've also tried to send CMD1 (for MMC cards), but it gives a similar Illegal Command response. The code works fine with my Sandisk 2GB micro-SD card. Does anyone have any idea? Thanks, -Ron-

  • UITableView custom popping

    - by ckrames1234
Okay, I made an app that has a list of items as a main view, and when you select an item it pushes a detail view controller. In this detail view controller you can switch between items. I want to be able to push a view, scroll a few items, and pop the view as if the current item was initially selected. I want to push a view, and then when i pop it, i want it to look like a different view was initially pushed. Here's a rough image, because its hard to explain in writing: http://96.248.81.29:83/misc/PushPopSituation.png (Thats a fixed IP, its not going anywhere) If anyone knows how I could do something like this, it would be a great help to me.

  • Clickonce intranet application trust

    - by Mark
Hi, we have a VSTO outlook add-in we'd like to silently deploy to everyone via AD. I'm signing the App with a "Code signing" certificate (requested certmgr from AD). If I add this certificate to my Trusted Publishers, then I can silently install the signed app via the VSTOInstaller.exe (with the /S switch). We don't want to have to install my certificate as a trusted publisher on everyone's machine - we'd like to be able to say that any code signed by a certificate issued within our AD is trusted. Is there some way to do this?

  • Mavericks system Ruby and gem broken

    - by T1000
When I tried to run ruby -v or gem -v (or any other command), I get: dyld: lazy symbol binding failed: Symbol not found: _ruby_run Referenced from: /usr/local/bin/ruby Expected in: /usr/lib/libruby.dylib dyld: Symbol not found: _ruby_run Referenced from: /usr/local/bin/ruby Expected in: /usr/lib/libruby.dylib This is after I ran rvm system to temporally switch to the system default Ruby. RVM is working fine, but I have a special need to install a gem to the system Ruby and I can't because of this problem. Does anyone know why? It seems to be some kind of link problem to Ruby, but I'm don't know how to solve this. I ran which ruby and it's at this point located in "/usr/local/bin/ruby". I checked the Ruby in "/usr/lib/" and it's pointing to my system Ruby: "../../System/Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/Current/usr/lib/ruby" Any help would be appreciated.

  • debugging C++ when compared to debugging C

    - by benjamin button
HI, I am normally a C programmer. I do regularly debug C programs on unix environment using tools like gdb, dbx. i have never done debugging of big applications of C++. Is that much different from how we debug in C. theoretically i am quite good in C++ but have never got a chance to debug C++ programs. I am also not sure about what kind of technical problems we face in c++ which will lead a developer to switch on the debugger for finding out the problem. what are the common issues we face in C++ which will make debugger to be started what are the challenges that a c programmer might face while debugging a C++ program? Is it difficult and complex when compared to C?

  • jQuery autocomplete disabled makes autocomplete partially transparent, not disabled

    - by Ryan Giglio
I'm using the jQuery UI's "autocomplete" function on a search on my site. When you change a radio button from 'area search" to "name search" I want it to disable the autocomplete, and re-enable it when you switch back. However, when you disable the autocomplete it doesn't hide the dropdown, it just dims it to 20% opacity or so. Here's my javascript: var allFields = new Array(<?php echo $allFields ?>); $(document).ready(function() { if ($("input[name='searchType']:checked").val() == 'areaCode') { $("#siteSearch").autocomplete({ source: allFields, minLength: 2 }); } $("input[name='searchType']").change(function(){ if ($("input[name='searchType']:checked").val() == 'areaCode') { $( "#siteSearch" ).autocomplete( "option", "disabled", false ); alert("enabled"); } else { $( "#siteSearch" ).autocomplete( "option", "disabled", true ); alert("disabled"); } }); }); You can see it happening at http://crewinyourcode.com First you have to chose an area code to search, and then you can see the issue.
