  • How do you get the ID of a control in ASP.NET

    I am attempting to loop through an array of numbers, match them to the checkbox they they are associated with, and checkmark that box. My checkbox is set up like: <input type="checkbox" runat="server" id="someID" name="somename" value="1234" /> My code when the page loads currently looks like: foreach (string interest in interests_Var){ foreach (var c in Page.Controls) { } } interests_Var is my array containing different numbers. We'll assume one of them is 1234. While looping through the page controls, I want to compare the value of the control to my number. If it equals my number, I want to then apply the attribute checked="checked". I'm assuming I have to find the ID of the control I am using, then use that ID to add a new attribute. Or is there a way I can add the attribute using the c variable? I'm not dead set on this setup, so if you know a better way, I'm all ears. Thanks for any help and suggestions.

    Hello, I have developed a browser using the standard WebBrowser control in my application that is built against CF 3.5. Google search is not working in the browser. That is when i navigate to www.google.co.in and type a keyword and click on the serach button nothing is happening. Outside the application from the device if i try the same thing in IE am getting a security warning dialog box and if ok is clicked search results are shown. So in my case do i need to set property on the webbrowser control. Thanks in advance

    One of the new features of Silverlight 4 is the new PathListBox Control. This control is basically a Listbox control witch takes the layout of a shape that you want, so we can represent our data as we want without limits.   So we are ready to open the new Microsoft Blend 4 Beta. First, we going to create a new Silverlight Data Driven Application (MVVM) project.   Open the main view (MainView.xaml), you can find it in Views folder, i look for the new control.   Once you add the PathListbox Control to the main layout of the MainView.xaml, we will add a Line Shape. Now, we are in the main step. Set the LayoutPaths property of the PathListbox control with the line shape that is just created.   The final step is set the ItemsSource property of the PathListbox control. We are going to use a mock object collection from the main view model. I have created the object collection on the main view model created by the Silverlight MVVM project template.   This is the result that we can improve with some animations. This a basic basic use of the PathListbox but using your imagination you can do very cool things.

The concept is this: You have a table in a database and the table has a specified number of columns. However, it has been asked of me by previous clients that there also be a set of dynamic user defined columns that can be added on the fly. What is this concept called and is it considered a design pattern?

  • Recomposing data structure in Excel

    I've got a sheet of 35k rows of the following kind of data that I want to reshape into table below. So, I want to reshape this data in a way to get all the people within a specific GroupID in separate columns. I suppose that I should add a counter for each row within specific group id? Also, I suppose these kind of issues are a lot more comfortable to be done in databases? Since I often have this kind of data, I need be much quicker about solving it, then I am now.

When I try and do this now, I end up with an error saying: Type 'IValidator' does not have a public property named 'FancyValidator' What do I need to do to make this work? Thanks!

    So lets say you've failed at preventing a drive failure, and also, you've failed to make a backup of said drive. Push has come to shove and now you need a way to recover you're precious data. Has anybody out there run into this situation? And if so could you please provide any suggestions on how to recover the data based on your experiences? For example have you used any data recovery services that you could either recommend, or that you would definitely avoid if you had a do-over? Thanks in advance

    Hi all, I'm currently working on a large project, and am about to make some large changes, and was looking for a way to 'backup' my prior work. Is there built in functionality in Visual Studio to work with version control? This project is developed only by me, and doesn't use Team Foundation Server (which is what most of my googling seems to give me answers on). Ideally, I would like to identify and restore all the different versions of my program as it evolves, without having to worry about totally messing something up... Cheers and thanks in advance! ---EDIT--- With a version control system though, would that be stored on a seperate server? Or is it possible to store it locally? I'm more just concerned that I will just seriously mess up my code and not be able to undo it at some point...

In the grid view I am having following code for columns <Columns> <asp:DynamicField DataField="UserId" UIHint="Label" /> <asp:DynamicField DataField="Address" UIHint="Address"/> <asp:DynamicField DataField="CreatedDate" UIHint="Label" /> </Columns> But, before displaying I want to do some processing in C# code for each row. In normal ASP.net grid view we can handle OnRowDataBound method, and using FindControl("controlid") we can get the control instance, but in case of dynamic data, I am not getting any id attribute for columns, so I am not able to get the control instance to show updated data in that control depending on some conditions.     Hello, I've been searching for a while and browsing through the samples but could not find a solution to my problem. In Microsoft Chart Control I have created a line series that plots real-time data. As new data points are added, the chart margins will sometimes jump on the form. I have tried disabling the grid lines and have determined that the margins change when the x-axis label overlaps with the y-axis label. I have tried auto-fitting the labels but that does not seem to work probably because it treat x-axis and y-axis separately. Is there any way to prevent the overlap, or keep the labels and corresponding grid lines stationery and just change their value when the data scrolls? Thank you for your help.

It'd been working well, but last week it flat died, and the company's trying to shirk it, claiming it's not under warranty and saying it'll cost at least $900 to recover the data from the drive.     i have a perl script dhcpmanip.pl which contain this line: system "hostapd /etc/hostapd-1.0/hostapd/hostapd.conf " it's a command to start hostapd!and i get this error : Insecure $ENV{PATH} while running setuid at /var/www/cgi-bin/dhcpmanip.pl line 46 After searching on the net i realised that i should accord root permission to www-data user (apache user) then i tried to modify the file /etc/sudoers by inserting this line : www-data ALL=NOPASSWD: /var/www/cgi-bin/dhcpmanip.pl but it still not working...does anyone have any idea about how solving this problem??thx alot

  • "Document in ADF" on Canon MX340

    I have a Canon MX340 multifunction printer. Recently, it keeps saying "Document in ADF" when I turn on the printer. I've tried clearing this multiple times, but as soon as the feeder wheels stop turning, in an attempt to clear the document feeder, it just pops up the same error again. This is particularly annoying, as it blocks all functions on the device - I cannot print, even though printing has no interaction with the document feeder. I've opened up the feeder device, as much as can be done with fingers alone. There just doesn't seem to be anything in there. I ran a sheet of paper through about six times, just to see if some dust might be getting in the way, and I've blown out the feeder with air. Still nothing. At this point, I don't care too much about the ADF working, I just want to disable whatever sensor is tripping this error message. Any ideas? I found this thread online, where a user has the same problem. But no resolution was reached there.

  • Recovered folders from Camera show as JPEG files and can can't be viewed.

    I have recovered a CCTV camera hard disk after a crash and have managed to get most of the data using EasyRecovery Pro. The problem is now that all the data that I have recovered appear like File09.JPG with and image icon in windows XP, but the files can't be viewed in any JPEG viewer software. I suspect that the .JPG files are indeed folders, but I can't force windows XP the change the file type. Very Odd. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Hoo

    Our problem/question revolves around an upload control that loses the selected file (goes blank) when a postback control is used (in this case, the dropdown list posts). Every time that the user selects one category, the subcategories are loaded (AutoPostBack=”true”). The primary user flow works fine: User selects one category, subcategory and selects a file to be uploaded (submitted). HOWEVER, if the user selects a file first, and then selects a category, the screen will do a partial refresh and the selected file will disappear (field goes blank). As a result, the user needs to select the file again. This causes an issue because the fact that the file is no longer selected can easily be overlooked. Seems straighforward --- but causing us a lot of grief. Any experts out there that can help? BIG thanks!
