• TortoiseSVN 1.6.8 missing repository browser in Branch/Tag "To URL" dialog?

  It seems that in TortoiseSVN 1.6.8 (on Windows), when you click the "To URL..." button in the Branch/Tag dialog, it now pops up a generic "browse for folders" dialog. It used to pop up a Repository Browser. Displaying a regular folder browser isn't much use, since you can't navigate to any of the tags/branches via the file system. Does anyone know if this is a regression or a deliberate change? Any possible workarounds (other than reverting to 1.6.7, which works fine)? Notes: I am running a repository on the local file system, which may yield different results to one going across a network. I'm definitely using an FSFS repository, so changes to BDB access via file:/// shouldn't apply.   I am trying to set up WebSVN on a Windows Server 2003 machine and not having any luck. I have done the following: Installed FastCGI Installed PHP 5.3.1.0 to c:\PHP Updated php.ini with the following: cgi.force_redirect = 0 cgi.fix_pathinfo = 1 fastcgi.impersonate = 1 fastcgi.logging = 0 Downloaded and extracted WebSVN 2.3.0 to D:\myWebRoot\websvn Copy distconfig.php to config.php Added the following: $config-setSVNCommandPath('c:\Program Files\Subversion\bin'); $config-setDiffPath('C:\Program Files\FogBugz\accessories'); $config-addRepository('Documents', 'https://myServer/myDir/Docs)', null, 'myDocsUser', 'myDocsPassword'); When I browse to URL myServer//websvn, I get the following error: Error running this command: "c:\Program Files\Subversion\bin\svn" --version --config-dir /tmp Any ideas?

• ASP.NET MVC 2 Areas 404

  Hey, Has anyone been able to get the Areas in ASP.NET MVC 2 to work? I created a new Area called "Secure" and placed a new controller in it named HomeController. I then Created a new Home/Index.aspx view. However, when I browse to http://localhost/myapp/Secure/ it gives a 404 resource cannot be found. http://localhost/myapp/Secure/Home gives the same error.   Hi, I recently struggled with an apparently simple Android layout: I wanted a WebView above a Button. It worked fine with the following parameters: WebView: Height: wrap-content Weight: unset (by the way, what is the default?) Button: Height: wrap-content Weight: unset However if the web page became too big it spilled out over the button. I tried various combinations of weights and heights, and all except one either completely hide the button, or partially cover it. This is the one that works (copied from http://code.google.com/p/apps-for-android/source/browse/trunk/Samples/WebViewDemo/res/layout/main.xml): WebView: Height: 0 Weight: 1 Button: Height: wrap-content Weight: unset If you change any of those, e.g. give button a weight or change the WebView height to wrap-content then it doesn't work. My question is: Why? Can someone please explain what on Earth the android layout system is thinking?

• Allowing connections initiated from outside

  I've got an old Juniper SSG5 running ScreenOS 5.4.0r6.0. Once a day, more or less, it'll start randomly dropping packets at a rate of ~5-10%. We currently solve this issue by simply rebooting the unit, after which it resumes working in perfect condition. As this error has started appearing randomly, without any configuration or hardware changes, I'm assuming I've got an aging unit about to fail. As such, I've got a replacement SSG5 running ScreenOS 6.0. I've dumped the config on the 5.4 and imported it into a clean 6.0, and it seems to gladly accept it, and all my configuration seems to be A-OK. However, upon connecting the new unit, all outside-initiated connections seem to be blocked. If I browse our external IP from the inside, everything works perfectly, and it's not just port 80, SSH, Crashplan - all of our policies route correctly. All normal networking, initiated from the inside, work perfectly as well. If on the other hand I browse our external IP from the outside, everything is blocked. Barring differences between ScreenOS 5.4 and 6.0, the config is identical. • Zend_Soap_Client - Ignore HTTPS verification

  All, I want to use Zend_Soap_Client class to load WSDL from an HTTPS url. Currently, if I call like this, it gives me an error even if the WSDL is perfectly valid: $wsdlUrl = "https://abc.xyz.com/webservices/WeatherService.php?wsdl"; $soapClient = new Zend_Soap_Client($wsdlUrl); The error I receive is: SOAP-ERROR: Parsing WSDL: Couldn't load from 'https://abc.xyz.com/webservices /WeatherService.php?wsdl' : Start tag expected, '<' not found If I browse to the WSDL url in the browser, it loads up the WSDL just fine. I think Zend_Soap_Client is trying to validate the certificate and failing. Is there a way to set the SOAP option to ignore the HTTPS verification and just load the WSDL? Thanks

  I am interested in how hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto=validate actually works and I am struggling to find comprehensive documentation. We've recently discovered production system was affected by http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/hibernate/browse/HHH-3532 (Hibernate matches foreign keys on name, rather than signature and so will recreate them for you) and hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto=update is being removed from our next release. I would be quite happy to just get rid of hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto altogether and manage our database ourselves. However, not all my colleagues share this world view and some are keen to add back in hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto=validate. I'm concerned this will hit the same problem and I'm interested in finding more documentation about how this validation actually works. The Hibernate Community Documentation (http://docs.jboss.org/hibernate/core/3.3/reference/en/html/session-configuration.html) really just makes reference to the values. Does anyone have any good documentation pointers, or any real life experience of using validate in a production system?

• URL Routing with WebForms, what to do with additional querystrings like page number, filter, etc?

  I am switching from Intelligencia's UrlRewriter to the new web forms routing in ASP.NET 4.0. I have it working great for basic pages, however, in my e-commerce site, when browsing category pages, I previously used querystrings that were built into my pager control to control paging. An old url (with UrlRewriting) would be: http://www.mysite.com/Category/Arts-and-Crafts_17 I have a MapPageRoute defined in global.asax as: routes.MapPageRoute("category-browse", "Category/{name}_{id}", ~/CategoryPage.aspx"); This works great. Now, somebody clicks to go to page 2. Previously I would have just tacked on ?page=2 as the querystring. Now, How do I handle this using web forms routing? I know I can do something like: http://www.mysite.com/Category/Arts-and-Crafts_17/page/2 But in addition to page, I can have filters, age ranges, gender, etc. Should I just keep defining routes that handle these variables, or should I continue using querystrings and can I define a route that allows me to use my querstrings like before?

  Hi Everybody, I have just installed Magento on Windows using WAMP. Installation was successfull without any errors or warnings. When i browse administration page, i can see login screen. After entering the correct credentials it is not displaying me the Dashboard/Control Panel. Its displaying the same login page. If i enter wrong credentials, its authenticating and displaying a message as "invalid username or password" I am unable to determine the issue. If anybody has been through this issue and solved it please help me. How can i login Magento administration. Note: While installation i have selected session=Database. Will that be a issue? • Passenger apache default page error

  Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this question. I asked it a couple of days ago on Server Fault but am getting no love. (It is sort of related to rails development...) The Question I just installed Passenger and the Passenger Pref Pane on OSX. However, when I try to browse to one of my Rails applications I just get the default Apache "it works!" page. I've checked the vhost definitions and they seem ok so I can't seem to figure out whats wrong... I've tried reinstalling passenger and the pref pane and restarting apache but to no avail. Anyone know how to fix this? • Integrating Simple Machines Forum in my custom membership site - login not working?

  Hi guys I'm trying to integrate simple machines forum into my custom made membership website. I'm using the SMF API which is available here at http://download.simplemachines.org/?tools. The thing is that its working on my localhost testing server - however on my online server where the system is hosted - its not working. I have set it up so that when the user log into my own custom CMS membership site, he/she is logged in automatically to his/her corresponding account on the forum. However it works on my localhost but online its not working at all.. I log into my site and then browse to the forum to find out I havent been logged in there :( - I think its not creating the cookies or registering the session.. where should I look here. Please do help.

• Pear SOAP and XAMPP on Ubuntu

  All, I have installed xampp for linux on ubuntu 9.10. The installation directory is /opt/lampp. The xampp website says PEAR comes with the installation.. I am relatively new to PEAR and want to know the answers for following: Is PEAR installed with xampp or need to be installed separately using synaptic package manager? I browse to /opt/lampp/bin directory and see "pear" there, but when i type it in the command line, it says "The program 'pear' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing: sudo apt-get install php-pear pear: command not found " I want to use PEAR:SOAP package in my PHP code. How to use that? Do I need to set any paths to the pear in my php.ini? Thanks

• GTK+ (GTKSharp) poor performance in Windows

  Hi, In my Mono (C#) project that is meant to be cross-platform, I am using the GTK for the UI. However one thing I noticed is, on my netbook in Archlinux, the performance is really speedy, so events such as mouse hover, and redrawing of widgets, etc, are really fast. Compared to windows (7) on dual core CPUs, the performance is really really weak. Which perplexes me. Am I doing something wrong that is warranting this difference in performance between OSes? What are some ways I can do to optimize GTK on Windows? Its really bad to take around 0.5 secs for a hover event to kick in whereas its almost immediate on a weak(er) netbook with Linux.   I'm trying to search Netflix through their API, but without logging anyone in (because I want to do this on the back-end, not necessarily related to any user action). I'm just starting off with their API so please forgive me if I'm doing something completely stupid. Here's the URL I'm trying to access: http://api.netflix.com/catalog/titles/?oauth_consumer_key=MY_CONSUMER_KEY&oauth_token_secret=MY_SECRET&term=fight+club However, that gives me a 400 Bad Request error. Is there no way to browse/search the Netflix catalog without having a user first sign in to my application? Or am I doing something wrong? Note: I'm accessing said URL through my browser, since I only want to perform a GET request, which is what a browser does by default.

So far I've discovered the SQL system function object_definition, which takes a given sysobjects.id and returns the text of that object; also discovered via search this post which describes extracting the parameters in the context of a app using the ADO.NET method DeriveParameters in conjunction with some caching for better performance; and for good measure found some helpful system stored procs from this earlier post on Hidden Features of SQL Server. I'm leaning towards implementing the DeriveParameters method in my C# app, since parsing the output of object_definition seems messy, and I haven't found a hidden feature in that post so far that would do the trick. Is DeriveParameters applicable to both functions and stored procs for purposes of retreiving their parameters, and if so, could someone please provide an example?

  Hello. I'm starting with Python coming from java. I was wondering if there exists something similar to JavaDoc API where I can find the class, its methods and and example of how to use it. I've found very helpul to use help( thing ) from the Python ( command line ) I have found this also: http://docs.python.org/ http://docs.python.org/modindex.html But it seems to help when you already the class name you are looking for. In JavaDoc API I have all the classes so if I need something I scroll down to a class that "sounds like" what I need. Or some times I just browse all the classes to see what they do, and when I need a feature my brain recalls me We saw something similar in the javadoc remember!? But I don't seem to find the similar in Python ( yet ) and that why I'm posting this questin. BTW I know that I would eventually will read this: http://docs.python.org/lib/lib.html But, well, I think it is not today.

• ShoutCast over SSL

  So I've gone ahead and set up my ShoutCast server DNAS and set my DSP in Winamp on my host computer. The server listens on port 8000, so per some instructions I installed an output plugin for winamp (Shoutcast DSP) and used 8000 and the password to connect. Server accepts the connection. Now, what the heck do I do now? My host computer is SSL secured and the DNAS server is installed within the secure web directory (if that matters). My desired end result is that I want to listen to my ShoutCast setup at home (host computer) from any computer. I try browsing to my ip address and port 8000 (without using HTTPS) and it comes back with nothing. If I browse with HTTPS://my.server.com:8000, I get Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long) Have I completely missed something, or am I just a total moron? Thanks.

• ^M characters when using Tramp (on Windows) to connect to Ubuntu Server

  I've set up Tramp on Emacs on my Windows 7 box (64 bit). For this test, this is the only thing in my emacs-config: (setq tramp-default-method "plink") Then I connect to my Ubuntu Server 9.10 running in a VM on my local network. Connection goes fine, i can use dired to browse folders and open files. Yay! However, git status shows up as: Git:master^M An when i open speedbar all folders and files ends with ^M, ie: <+ conf/^M Does anyone know how to prevent this line-ending collision from occurring?

• Compiler is able to find function without matching .h file is updated?

  Hello Friends, I'm writing a C University project and stumbled upon a compiler behavior which I don't understand. In this file http://code.google.com/p/openu-bsc-maximveksler/source/browse/trunk/20465/semester/tasks/maman14/alpha/maman14/assembler/phaseOne.c?r=112 I've added a call to function named freeAsmInstruction(). This function is defined in file named lineParser.c, yet I haven't updated the matching lineParser.h header file to include this function declaration. Why does this code compile? I would expect that gcc would fail to compile phaseOne.c until the correct lineParser.h is updated with the declaration of freeAsmInstruction(). I would appreciate an explanation. Thank you, Maxim

• asp.net web deployment

  i have successful created asp.net web deployment project under visual studio 2008 and everything works fine. However there is a new requirement from my user where they want to browse the location to install the web application instead of using the default install location. Is there anyway to achieve this ? or do i need to use some third party deployment tools? i have tried the sample transformation file on http://www.codeproject.com/KB/install/ChangeVDirWebSetupProject.aspx?fid=295594&fr=1&df=90&mpp=25&noise=3&sort=Position&view=Quick#xx0xx but it only seems to work under vs2005 thanks

• Aborting jQuery().load()

  The .load() function of the jQuery library allows you to selectively load elements from another page (subject to certain rules). I would like to know whether it is possible to abort the load process. In our application, a user can browse a list of items. They may choose to click a button which loads and displays additional information about an item from another document (which can take some time). If they choose a different item in the list whilst a .load() is still happening, I would like the loading to be aborted. Is this possible? Is it even worth it? Any ideas? Dan

• How can I make a fixed hex editor?

  So. Let's say I were to make a hex editor to edit... oh... let's say a .DLL file. How can I edit a .DLL file's hex by using C# or C++? And for the "fixed part", I want to make it so that I can browse from the program for a specific .DLL, have some pre-coded buttons on the programmed file, and when the button is pressed, it will automatically execute the requested action, meaning the button has been pre-coded to know what to look for in the .DLL and what to change it to. Can anyone help me get started on this?
