  • Need multiple views to respond to a touch event in an iPhone app

    Setup: I have two views that I need to respond to the touch event, and they are layered out on top of one another. View 1 is on top of View 2. View 2 is a UIWebView. View 1 is sublclassed to capture the touch event. My problem is that if I try to call the UIWebView event handlers (touchesBegan: and touchesEnded:) from within the event handlers of View 1, which is the first responder, nothing happens. However if I set View 1 to userInteractionEnabled = NO, then the touch goes through that view and is processed properly by the 2nd view. Any ideas on how I can have 2 views respond to a touch event? Unfortunately the 2nd view is a UIWebView, so I need to actually call the event handler and not a different method, etc... Thanks in advance for any advice, Joel

  • Hiding UIToolBar for child views of UITableViewController

    My main controller is a subclass of UITableViewController with a UIToolBar at the bottom and when a row is selected, I'd like to display another view without the toolbar. How can I hide the UIToolBar in the child view? Right now, it's present throughout all child views unless they're created as modal. Toolbar is created in RootController: self.toolbar = [[UIToolbar alloc] init]; // add tool bar items here [self.navigationController.view addSubview:toolbar]; RootController displays its child views as such: UIViewController *controller = [[UIViewController alloc] init...] [self.navigationController pushViewController:controller animated:YES]; RootController is instantiated as such in the app delegate's applicationDidFinishLaunching: RootController *rootcontroller = [[RootController alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewStyleGrouped]; self.navigationController = [[UINavigationController alloc] initWithRootViewController:rootcontroller]; [rootcontroller release]; [window addSubview:[self.navigationController view]]; If I add the toolbar to [self.view] within RootController instead of navigationController's view, the toolbar disappears alltogether..

  • iPhoneOS SDK - Remove Corner Rounding from views (iPad problem)

    Hi Guys This might be a little bit picky, but in the iPad SplitViewController setup, there are 2 views. Each of the views has a very small black corner rounding. (This is probably the same with iPhone apps too). This rounding is visible in the image below. What I would like to do is remove the black rounding, so the UI doesnt get these two little bumps along the bottom. Has anyone done this, or know how to? -Its surely possible.     I'm experimenting with using noir to start three servers (each to handle a different aspect of the application). I am trying to do this so that I can run all three servers within one application while developing and easily decouple the project into three different applications for deployment. It is no problem to use noir.server/start and noir.server/stop to run the jetty servers I need. What I'm trying to figure out is some way to call load-views (or something like that) with a different set views for each server so that URI conflicts are handled by the correct defpage.

  • Conditionally embed ASP.NET MVC2 Views as resources during build in Visual Studio 2010

    I have a ASP.NET MVC2 project in VS2010 that can be deployed in two modes: standalone or plugin. In standalone mode, the views should live outside the compiled assembly as .aspx files (the default setup). In plugin mode, the views are switched (currently by hand) to embedded resources and the entire assembly is dropped into a host project folder. Currently, this requires the developer to go through each view and switch it from Build Action: "Content" to "Embedded Resource" and vice versa. I would like to create a new solution configuration to automatically grab all .aspx files and build them as resources. This SO post seems like the solution, but I would prefer not to have to edit the .csproj every single time I add a new view to the project. Is there a way to use a wild cards or some other batch/global conditionally statement to change resources from content to embedded?

  • Zooming to UIView and it's sub-views

    Hi, I have a UIView which I can zoom to (as it is set as a subview of UIScrollView). UIView has UILabel, UITextField, etc. If I just zoom to the UIView, then of course label and text field get fuzzy (the same effect if you are zooming to the image file without changing image resolution). To solve the problem I need to increase the font size and sizes of the UILable and UITextField in according to the scale used to zoom in (scale is passed as a param by the UIScrollView). This is where I am getting confused. Changing frame (by increasing it width and height by zooming scale) I get all my elements (sub-views) repositions (because changing frame effects center and bounds) Question: 1. What would I need to do to zoom in to the sub-views and just increase the sub-view sizes while keeping them in the exactly the same position? thanks

    I have created a main page (myAppViewController) and a add page rect button I have also created a page template (TemplateAViewController) all set up in Interface builder. I would like users to be able to add as many templates themselves and then page through them. I am not sure where to start. I can create views programmatic like so -(IBAction)createnewpage : (id) sender { myAppViewController *viewcontroller = [[myAppViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"TemplateAViewController" bundle:[NSBundle mainBundle]]; [[self view] addSubview:viewcontroller.view]; } I then want to be able to navigate through these views- I guess I need to create a navigation controller to do this ?

  • ASP.net MVC Using view models in different views

    i have 2 customer views one for create and one for edit. i am using the same Customer view model for both. i want to make the 'customer no field' required on the add but not the edit. if i put the requiredfield attribute on the view model property then both views flag 'Customer No' as required (as you would expect). Is there a built in solution to get around this problem or am i going to have to create 2 seperate view models, one with the attribute and one without. Thanks

  • iPhone: Switching Views From Outside Root Controller

    I am using a UINavigationController to switch between views. What I would like is for each view to have the ability to control when it is swapped out for another view by having buttons within the view. All of the samples I've seen thus far have placed buttons on a toolbar, which is located on the root view containing the Switch View Controller rather than the views, them self. Is it possible to do what I want? I can't figure how to wire up the connection back to the UINavigationController. I'm having a difficult time wording this, so please feel free to let me know if you need additional clarification.

  • Visual Studio 2010 deploys views too late in deploy process

    I have a database project in my VS2010 solution. I recently changed a view and and changed a number of functions to use this view instead of going directly against a table. But now when I deploy I get errors on most of these functions because the column asked for does not exists in the view yet. The update of the view happends later than the update of UDF's. Is there any way to change this behaviour? Wouldn't the best thing be if the deploy script updated in this order: tables, views, SP and UDF. It seems like tables is updated first, but the views are just thrown in somewhere in the middle of the deploy script.

    I'm working, as an hobby (before any one rage out of their mind, I'm just trying to study C++ regarding something I love: web. I'm not trying to reinvent your precious wheel, and I'm not trying to create the new web technology. I just have the time to go for it.), creating a web CGI C++ library. I'm at a pretty good point, but in the future I see one big problem: views. I'm used to the great <body><?php echo "Hey!"; ?></body> embedded php, but there's no such thing in C++, so I'm wondering: How would you deal with views? Would you create a simple find-replace-variable templating system and deal with thousands of partial views? For example: View view; view.load("header.html"); view.load("nav.html"); view.load("post_start.html"); for (int i = 0; i < 10; i++) { std::map<std::string, std::string> post; Post p(i); post = p.get(); view.load(post_view.html, post); // p is passed as argument and every `{% varname %}` in the html will be replaced with its value inside the map } view.load(post_end.html); view.load(footer); Would you create a simple templating system?     I created a silverlight 3 application with a navigation frame and 3 views: search, add and edit. I used the app file to pass parameters among the 3 pages, eg: ((App)Application.Current).SNIPSELECTED = currentSnip; Then in the receiving page: currentSnip = ((App)Application.Current).SNIPSELECTED; currentSnip is a SnipItem object: public class SnipItem { public string itemID {get;set;} public string category {get;set;} public string itemDescription {get;set;} public string codeSnip {get;set;} } This worked fine until I decided to make this entire application into a user control and put that inside a second silverlight application with its own navigation frame and app file. The app files are getting confused. The first app file with all my parameter passing is not being read. I know how to pass a simple parameter between views in the first application without the app file (in a query string), but how about these custom types like my currentSnip above?

    Hi, How do I make syncdb execute SQL queries (for table creation) defined by me, rather then generating tables automatically. I'm looking for this solution as some particular models in my app represent SQL-table-views for a legacy-database table. So, I've created their SQL-views in my django-DB like this: CREATE VIEW legacy_series AS SELECT * FROM legacy.series; I have a reverse engineered model that represents the above view/legacytable. But whenever I run syncdb, I have to create all the views first by running sql scripts, otherwise syncdb simply creates tables for them (if a view is not found). How do I make syncdb run the above mentioned SQL?

  • Large Video Uploads via a website

    Some of the problems that can happen are timeouts, disconnections, and not being able to resume a file and having to start from the beginning. Assuming these files are up to around 5gigs in size, what is the best solution for dealing with this problem? I'm using a Drupal 6 install for the website. Some of my constraints due to the server setup I have to deal with: Shared hosting with max 200 connections at a time (unlimited disk space) Shared hosting. Unable to create users through an API (so can't automatically generate ftp accounts) I do have the ability to run cron-type scripts via a Drupal module. My initial thought was to create ftp users based off of Drupal accounts and requiring them to download an ftp client for their OS of choice. But the lack of API to auto-create ftp accounts and the inability to do it from command line kind of hinder that solution. If there's a workaround someone can think of, let me know! Thanks

    Hi, I'm running Drupal and Mediawiki on my server under the same domain. They are connected to each other with extensions/modules. Meaning if I log in to Mediawiki, it automatically logs into Drupal also. Mediawiki has some extensions that filter the information shown on the page. What I want to do is to show that filtered information from Mediawiki on my Drupal page. I'm trying to fetch the data with PHP cURL, but I'm not able to force it to use the login information. How can I convert PHP's $_COOKIE into cURL cookie.txt format? I suppose after that I'm able to fetch the data from Mediawiki with the right permissions.   • Comparing Nginx+PHP-FPM to Apache-mod_php

    I'm running Drupal and trying to figure out the best stack to serve it. Apache + mod_php or Nginx + PHP-FPM I used ApacheBench (ab) and Siege to test both setups and I'm seeing Apache performing better. This surprises me a little bit since I've heard a lot of good things about Nginx + PHP-FPM. My current Nginx setup is something that is a bit out of the box, and the same goes for PHP-FPM What optimizations I can make to speed up the Nginx + PHP-FPM combo over Apache and mo_php ? In my tests using ab, Apache is outperforming Nginx significantly (higher requets/second and finishing tests much faster) I've googled around a bit, but since I've never using Nginx, PHP-FPM or FastCGI, I don't exactly know where to start PHP v5.2.13, Drupal v6, latest PHP-FPM and Nginx compiled from source.   • Site resolves fine without "www", "www" creates database error

    Working with BOA ( Barracuda / Octopus / Aegir ) , I've installed a few Drupal sites without any problems and following the same process for all. BOA is running on Nginx. All sites are going thru Cloudflare's network , where I set the same DNS settings. A example.com points to IPADDRESS A www points to IPADDRESS the nameservers of each domain are pointing to Cloudflare's respective nameservers. It all works , except for one site that works perfectly without "www" , but with "www" returns the typical database error if Drupal can't find the site's database. Site off-line The site is currently not available due to technical problems. Please try again later. Thank you for your understanding. If you are the maintainer of this site, please check your database settings in the settings.php file and ensure that your hosting provider's database server is running. Want to set up the folder structure as follows: Client 1 Name -- Matter 1 (i.e. setting up corporation) -- Matter 2 (i.e. divorce) -- Matter 3 (i.e. setting up trust) Client 2 Name -- Matter 1 Client 3 Name -- Matter 1 and so on. But the attorneys prefer navigating a folder structure, more based on what case type: Civil -- Client 1 Name (i.e. Smythe) -- Client 2 Name (i.e. Jones) -- Client 3 Name (i.e. Johson) -- Landlord/Tenant -- Client 1 Name (i.e. Jones) -- Client 2 Name (i.e. Johson) -- Class Action Suits -- Suit 1 -- Suit 2 Personal Injury -- Client 1 Name -- Client 2 Name -- Client 3 Name Criminal -- Client 1 Name (i.e. Smythe) I'd like to know if it's possible to set up the server with the first folder structure (it's more organized and easier to employ scripts), while having the second folder structure available for users who find it easier to deal with the same types of cases grouped together.

    I am in trouble. I placed and advt on a website in 2012 which said he has 950,000 unique visits each month so early in 2012 i advertised with them. The advertised didn't worked out so checked in 2-3 months time and i saw that the unique visitors on their site was 8,000 at that time.I immediately close the account I dont remember which site i was checking the unique visitors.That advt company has filed a dispute against me. So is there any tool that give me stats of 2012 of any website. i tried google trends but it doesnt show statistics ..
