  • Errors to do with modules when using net-snmp utils

    - by bob
I was using the net-snmp packages that come with my linux distro (version 5.3.2.2), but wanted to do some work with the latest version of net-snmp (5.7), so tried compiling and installing the new source. It seemed to work ok but now I'm getting a load of errors when use net-snmp utils (snmpget, snmpset snmpwalk etc..) for example: $ snmptranslate -On SNMPv2-MIB::system.sysDescr MIB search path: /home/me/.snmp/mibs:/usr/local/share/snmp/mibs Cannot find module (SNMPv2-SMI) At line 6 in /usr/local/share/snmp/mibs/SNMPv2-MIB.txt Cannot find module (SNMPv2-TC): At line 9 in /usr/local/share/snmp/mibs/SNMPv2-MIB.txt Cannot find module (SNMPv2-MIB): At line 9 in (none) : <a lot of similar lines> : Cannot find module (NET-SNMP-VACM-MIB): At line 9 in (none) .1.3.6.1.2.1.1.1 From this I assumed perhaps that I was missing mibs from the 'MIB search path', so I looked at the first error 'Cannot find module (SNMPv2-SMI)', however it seems to be in the right directory: $ ls /usr/local/share/snmp/mibs/*SNMPv2-SMI* /usr/local/share/snmp/mibs/SNMPv2-SMI.txt And the same result for the other in the list.. so I'm wondering if anybody knows why it might not be finding the modules even though they seem to be in the search path?

  • tftpd-hpa service must be restarted before working after fresh boot

    - by Steve
I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 inside a VirtualBox VM. I've installed tftpd-hpa so I can boot an embedded Linux device via tftp. My problem is that after a fresh boot of the VM, tftpd doesn't seem to work until I restart the service, after which is works great until the system is rebooted. The transcript below should explain the situation. EDIT: After the fresh boot, I execute netstat -a | grep tftp and find nothing. After restarting the service, the same command returns udp 0 0 *:tftp *:* (whitespace removed). I think this might be the key to the problem, I'm just not sure how to resolve it. I don't think it's related to this specific issue, but I had another problem with tftpd that was asked and answered in this question. steve@steve-VirtualBox:~$ cat /etc/default/tftpd-hpa # /etc/default/tftpd-hpa TFTP_USERNAME="tftp" TFTP_DIRECTORY="/var/lib/tftpboot" TFTP_ADDRESS="0.0.0.0:69" TFTP_OPTIONS="--secure" steve@steve-VirtualBox:~$ ls -l /var/lib/tftpboot total 8204 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 34352 May 28 08:22 am335x-boneblack.dtb -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 33206 May 28 08:22 am335x-bone.dtb -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 41564 May 28 08:22 am335x-evm.dtb -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 38048 May 28 08:22 am335x-evmsk.dtb -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 4117904 May 20 09:39 zImage -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4117616 May 28 08:22 zImage-am335x-evm.bin steve@steve-VirtualBox:~$ tftp localhost tftp> get zImage Transfer timed out. tftp> quit steve@steve-VirtualBox:~$ sudo service tftpd-hpa restart [sudo] password for steve: tftpd-hpa stop/waiting tftpd-hpa start/running, process 2106 steve@steve-VirtualBox:~$ tftp localhost tftp> get zImage Received 4143798 bytes in 1.4 seconds tftp> quit steve@steve-VirtualBox:~$

  • Identifying Httpd error log in Fedora 16

    - by Cerin
How do you find the cause of httpd errors in Fedora 16? The new systemctl command in Fedora 16 seems to horribly obscure any useful logging info. [root@host ~]# systemctl start httpd.service Job failed. See system logs and 'systemctl status' for details. [root@host ~]# systemctl status httpd.service httpd.service - The Apache HTTP Server (prefork MPM) Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/httpd.service; enabled) Active: failed since Thu, 21 Jun 2012 16:26:56 -0400; 1min 23s ago Process: 2119 ExecStop=/usr/sbin/httpd $OPTIONS -k stop (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) Process: 2215 ExecStart=/usr/sbin/httpd $OPTIONS -k start (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE) Main PID: 1062 (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) CGroup: name=systemd:/system/httpd.service So the first command fails...and it tells me to run another command...which simply tells me that the command returned an error code. Where's the actual error? Even more frustrating is nothing seems to have been written to the logs: [root@host ~]# ls -lah /var/log/httpd/ total 8.0K drwx------. 2 root root 4.0K Jun 21 16:19 . drwxr-xr-x. 21 root root 4.0K Jun 20 16:33 .. -rw-r----- 1 root root 0 Jun 21 16:19 modsec_audit.log -rw-r----- 1 root root 0 Jun 21 16:19 modsec_debug.log

  • Trying to delete a directory stored on a WIndows server, mounted on a mac

    - by AdamG
I am trying to delete a directory stored on a Windows 2008 R2 server, mounted on a Mac as network home (10.8.5). The directory was created by Safari and stores temporary internet files. I need to be able to delete this folder on logout from a Mac bash script. The Terminal on Mac shows the directory as empty: 36W-FacRm-02:History lwickham$ cd /home/lwickham/Library/Caches/Metadata/Safari/History 36W-FacRm-02:History lwickham$ ls -al total 0 drwx------ 1 lwickham CGPS\Domain Users 264 Nov 8 09:24 . drwx------ 1 lwickham CGPS\Domain Users 264 Nov 8 09:28 .. However, on the Windows server it has a single 0kb file that doesn't start with a "." but yet is invisible to the Mac. • Dash (-) in directory listing

    - by Mazzy
I've Googled around for this to no avail, I'm sure its just something simple but I have not been able to figure this out perhaps because searching in Google or SF for a "-" can be problematic. I had a strange directory listing show up the other day in my git repository within Drupal. Listing my sites directory looks like this: -sh-4.1$ ls -al total 52 drwxr-xr-x 5 (hide) (hide) 4096 Dec 6 16:15 . drwxr-xr-x 24 (hide) (hide) 4096 Dec 11 16:22 .. -rw-rw-r-- 1 (hide) (hide) 24271 Dec 6 15:57 – drwxrwxr-x 4 (hide) (hide) 4096 Sep 17 11:53 all drwxr-xr-x 3 (hide) (hide) 4096 Sep 17 11:54 default drwxrwxr-x 8 (hide) (hide) 4096 Dec 11 17:40 .git -rw-rw-r-- 1 (hide) (hide) 476 Sep 17 11:53 .gitignore -rw-rw-r-- 1 (hide) (hide) 81 Sep 17 11:53 README.md This "-" file cannot be opened and does not appear to be a symlink, although when I execute "cd -" I get this: -sh-4.1$ cd - /home/sites/dev1.(hide).com That is coincidentally or not the users home directory, and the site's root directory. The other strange this is this entry does not show up for any other user browsing this same directory. Nor does it show up for other users period in their Git directories. The entry cannot be removed via RM. Running Centos 6.2 by the way...

  • BASH Wildcard Expansion

    - by Aaron Copley
I'm not really sure how to phrase this, and maybe that's why I can't find any thing, but I want to reuse the values enumerated by a wildcard in a command. Is this possible? Scenario: $ ls /dir 1 2 3 Contents of /dir are directories 1, 2, and 3. $ cp /dir/*/file . Results in file being copied from /dir/1 /dir/2 and /dir/3 to here. What I would like to do is copy the files to a new destination name based on the wildcard expansion. $ cp /dir/*/file ???-file Would result in /dir/*/file being copied to 1-file, 2-file, and 3-file. What I can't figured out is the ??? portion to tell BASH I want to use the wildcard expanded values. Using the wildcard in the target nets a cp error: cp: target `*-file' is not a directory. Is there something else in bash that can be used here? The find command has {} to use with -exec which is similar to what I am looking for above.

  • User directive in nginx generates error despite running as UID root

    - by Joost Schuur
I'm running nginx on a MacOS X machine, installed with brew, and when I launch nginx, even with sudo, I get the following warning in my log file over and over again: 4/21/11 2:03:42 AM org.nginx[3788] nginx: [warn] the "user" directive makes sense only if the master process runs with super-user privileges, ignored in /usr/local/etc/nginx/conf/nginx.conf:2 From nginx.conf: user jschuur staff; I'm already launching nginx with sudo, since I want the thing to listen on port 80. Shouldn't that be enough to give it the proper super user privileges? The nginx binary as it's installed: jschuur@Glenna:sbin ? master ls -la total 4544 drwxr-xr-x 3 jschuur staff 102 Apr 12 20:53 . drwxrwxr-x 15 jschuur staff 510 Apr 12 15:25 .. -rwxr-xr-x 1 jschuur staff 2325648 Apr 12 20:39 nginx FWIW, I recompiled the binary to set passenger up and moved it around from it's original location into /usr/local/sbin. Update: As it turns out MacOS X was restarting nginx after I'd stopped it, because the launchd plist in ~/Library/LaunchAgents had set it to 'KeepAlive'. However, because I installed this plist into my local user's LaunchAgents folder as opposed to /Library/LaunchAgents (or better yet /Library/LaunchDaemons, which run before you even log on), it wasn't executed as root. Because of an error about not having permissions to use port 80, it actually exited right away, but still wrote to the same log file as the nginx process I started with sudo. I had thought the errors stemming from the automatic restart were actually coming from my manual restart via sudo. So, bottom line, problem solved. The real problem here was the homebrew instructions specifically asking you to install the plist file into an area that wouldn't allow a local site to use port 80.

  • Symlinks are inaccessible by their full path on OS X

    - by Computer Guru
Hi, I have symlinks pointing to applications placed in /usr/local/bin which is in the path. However, I can't run these applications from other folders. Even more weird, I can't access them by the full path to the symlink. • PPP kernel module fails to load

    - by Harel
I am trying to deal with a problem on a server I don't normally deal with. Out of the blue a script using ppp started failing saying that the ppp kernel module is not loaded. When I try to modprobe it it complains about files missing. Note below that the kernel version the server thinks it at, does not match the kernel version directory in /lib/modules. I'm not sure how this could have happened. Could the other maintainers of the server botched a kernel upgrade? My question is how can I fix this discrepancy. Can I simply rename the lib directory and hope for the best? I don't want to break stuff for the people who actually maintain the server but I do need to fix the PPP issue. $ sudo /sbin/modprobe -v ppp FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/2.6.35.4-rscloud/modules.dep: No such file or directory $ cat /proc/version Linux version 2.6.35.4-rscloud ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.4.3 (Ubuntu 4.4.3-4ubuntu5) ) #8 SMP Mon Sep 20 15:54:33 UTC 2010 $ ls /lib/modules/ 2.6.33.5-rscloud

  • Why can't I get rid of default index.html even if I disable the default virtual host in Apache2?

    - by Emre Sevinç
I have created a virtual host settings file and I disabled the default settings by using a2dissite default (this is a pretty standard Ubuntu 10.04 installation). But no matter what I try my Apache2 server simply keeps on displaying the default index.html page instead of the index.php page that I set up in the virtual host file. Can someone help me what I'm missing. Details follow: No default settings: ls -l /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/ total 0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 51 May 5 13:32 webmin.1273066327.conf -> /etc/apache2/sites-available/webmin.1273066327.conf lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 34 May 30 11:03 www.accontax.be -> ../sites-available/www.accontax.be Contents of the relevant virtual host: cat /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/www.accontax.be <VirtualHost *> ServerName www.accontax.be ServerAlias accontax.be DirectoryIndex index.php DocumentRoot /var/www/drupal/ <Directory /var/www/drupal/> Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews AllowOverride None Order allow, deny allow from all </Directory> </VirtualHost> Contents of httpd.conf: cat /etc/apache2/httpd.conf Listen 80 NameVirtualHost * I also have those relevant lines in my apache2.conf: # Include generic snippets of statements Include /etc/apache2/conf.d/ # Include the virtual host configurations: Include /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/ When I visit http://www.accontax.be I expect apache2 server go to the /var/www/drupal subdirectory and start serving index.php but it simply keeps on serving index.html from /var/www directory. I have reloaded the configuration, restarted the server, deleted my browser cache. Nothing changed. Probably I'm missing a simple yet crucial step but I just could not find it.

  • Deployment and Ownership issues

    - by kylemac
As an extreme newbie, I am having difficulty managing ownership and permissions on my first box. What I can't figure out is how to deploy using one user, we will call him deploy and operate my php application with www-data user. Currently as it stands, I know my server runs as www-data through this function <?php echo(exec("whoami")); ?> but I am having to chown between deploy and www-data every time I deploy. There has got to be an easier way to deploy with one user and still run as www-data. EDIT: Here is the output from ls- l on the folder in question. You will see user deploy and group www-pub, the group is from an attempt to add the two different users to a new group and chown one of them in the hopes that they both would have the permissions (newb alert) drwxrwxr-x 4 deploy www-pub 4096 Mar 7 01:41 example.com I am using capistrano for deployment under the user deploy then once its done i chown to www-data, otherwise I can't use php to manipulate files. I am also unsure how to even change which user apache is running.

  • Advanced Linux file permission question (ownership change during write operation)

    - by Kent
By default the umask is 0022: usera@cmp$ touch somefile; ls -l total 0 -rw-r--r-- 1 usera usera 0 2009-09-22 22:30 somefile The directory /home/shared/ is meant for shared files and should be owned by root and the shared group. Files created here by usern (any user) are automatically owned by the shared group. There is a cron-job taking care of changing owning user and owning group (of any moved files) once per day: usera@cmp$ cat /etc/cron.daily/sharedscript #!/bin/bash chown -R root:shared /home/shared/ chmod -R 770 /home/shared/ I was writing a really large file to the shared directory. It had me (usera) as owning user and the shared group as group owner. During the write operation the cron job was run, and I still had no problem completing the write process. You see. I thought this would happen: I am writing the file. The file permissions and ownership data for the file looks like this: -rw-r--r-- usera shared The cron job kicks in! The chown line is processed and now the file is owned by the root user and the shared group. As the owning group only has read access to the file I get a file write error! Boom! End of story. Why did the operation succeed? A link to some kind of reference documentation to back up the reason would be very welcome (as I could use it to study more details).

  • How to convert a raw disk image to a copy-on-write image based on another image for use with kvm and

    - by Jean-Paul Calderone
I have a virtual Windows machine running on kvm. Presently it has a 90GB raw disk image. I would like to clone this VM without having to keep two copies of the 90GB raw disk image around. It seems like a good approach for doing this is to make two new qcow or qcow2 images based on the original. First I converted the raw image to a qcow2 image: qemu-img convert -O qcow2 basewindowsxp.img basewindowsxp.qcow2 Then I tried creating a new image backed by this: qemu-img create -F qcow2 -f qcow2 -b `pwd`/basewindowsxp.qcow2 windowsxp-1.qcow2 Then I used virt-manager to point the original VM at windowsxp-1.qcow2. However, when I try to start up the VM in this new configuration, virt-manager reports an error: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/virt-manager/virtManager/engine.py", line 588, in run_domain vm.startup() File "/usr/share/virt-manager/virtManager/domain.py", line 150, in startup self._backend.create() File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/libvirt.py", line 300, in create if ret == -1: raise libvirtError ('virDomainCreate() failed', dom=self) libvirtError: internal error unable to start guest: qemu: could not open disk image /var/lib/libvirt/images/windowsxp-1.qcow2 The error suggests that the filename was misspecified or that the filesystem permissions are too restrictive, but neither of these is the case: $ ls -l /var/lib/libvirt/images/windowsxp-1.qcow2 -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 262144 2010-05-27 08:32 /var/lib/libvirt/images/windowsxp-1.qcow2 Why won't virt-manager start this vm?

  • How can I download a copy of an S3 public data set?

    - by tripleee
i was naively assuming I could do something like s3cmd sync s3://snap-d203feb5 /var/tmp/copy but I seem to have the wrong idea of how to go about this. I cannot even get a simple thing to work; vnix$ s3cmd ls s3://snap-d203feb5 Bucket 'snap-d203feb5': ERROR: Bucket 'snap-d203feb5' does not exist I guess the identifier I have is not for a "bucket" but for a "public data set". How do I go from one to the other? Do I have to start up an EC2 instance and create a bucket for this? How? The instructions at http://docs.amazonwebservices.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/using-public-data-sets.html seem to assume I want to use the data in an EC2 instance, but in this case, I'd just like to browse a bit, at least for a start. By the by, copy/pasting the "US Snapshot ID" causes a nasty traceback from Python; they publish the ID with a weird Unicode (I presume) dash which cannot directly be copy/pasted. Is there a mistake when I copy it? And what's the significance of "US" in there? Can't I use the data outside North America??

  • Debootstrap Ubuntu over NFS leads to mknod I/O error

    - by Aaron B. Russell
Hi everyone, I'm trying to prepare an Ubuntu environment for a diskless machine that will PXE boot and mount an NFS share as it's root. I've currently got another Ubuntu machine mounting the NFS share and I'm trying to debootstrap into it, but it has trouble creating devices over NFS: root@kimiko:~# mount | grep Seiuchi 192.168.0.203:/mnt/user/Seiuchi on /mnt type nfs (rw,addr=192.168.0.203) root@kimiko:~# debootstrap --arch i386 maverick /mnt http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ mknod: `/mnt/test-dev-null': Input/output error E: Cannot install into target '/mnt' mounted with noexec or nodev My NFS rule on the unRAID server is 192.168.0.201/32(rw,no_root_squash,sync). I don't have the noexec or nodev options set. I've not got much experience with NFS, so I'm probably missing something basic in the way I'm sharing this, but my attempts at Googling for an answer isn't really turning anything useful up. Does anyone have suggestions on what I might have missed or maybe relevant docs? Edit: Creating normal files (and directories) works just fine, I just can't create devices... root@kimiko:/mnt# mkdir foo root@kimiko:/mnt# cd foo root@kimiko:/mnt/foo# touch bar root@kimiko:/mnt/foo# mknod quux c 4 64 mknod: `quux': Input/output error root@kimiko:/mnt/foo# ls bar

  • What does it mean for the file name to be shown with red background

    - by user56614
I'm trying to install Cisco VPN client on Linux Ubuntu 10.04. The installer creates the directory, places all the necessary files in it, and then fails to launch the binary. I tried to launch it myself, the system rebukes me too. Closer inspection yields the following: eugene@eugene-desktop:/opt/cisco/vpn/bin$ sudo chmod u+x vpnagentd eugene@eugene-desktop:/opt/cisco/vpn/bin$ ls -la total 5124 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2010-10-23 11:51 . drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 4096 2010-10-23 11:51 .. -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1607236 2010-10-23 11:51 vpn -rwsr-xr-x 1 root root 1204692 2010-10-23 11:51 vpnagentd -r--r--r-- 1 root root 697380 2010-10-23 11:51 vpndownloader.sh -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1712708 2010-10-23 11:51 vpnui -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 3654 2010-10-23 11:51 vpn_uninstall.sh eugene@eugene-desktop:/opt/cisco/vpn/bin$ ./vpnagentd bash: ./vpnagentd: No such file or directory eugene@eugene-desktop:/opt/cisco/vpn/bin$ sudo ./vpnagentd sudo: unable to execute ./vpnagentd: No such file or directory The file name "vpnagentd" is shown in white letters with red background. The other three executables are in green letters with black background, as expected. Any ideas?

  • Cannot connect to FTP sites anymore

    - by Wayne M
I have the FTP service running on Server 2003, and I am hosting websites through Apache. I have users configured to point to certain directories on the server. I am using FileZilla to remote FTP, but it never seems to connect to the directory. The command window says: Command: USER wayne Response: 331 Password required for wayne Command: PASS: ***** Response: 230 User wayne logged in Status: Connected Status: Retrieving directory isting... Command: PWD Response: 257 "/wayne" is current directory Command: TYPE I Response: 200 Type set to I. Command: PASV And that's it. It doesn't display any directories at all, and the pane says "Not connected to any server". Sometimes it will display the folder, but nothing happens when I click on it to expand it. It was working fine, and I have another FTP server set up the same way that does work. How can I fix this? EDIT: I've tried changing it to Active FTP, and it says: Command: LIST Command: 150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for /bin/ls Response: 425 Can't open data connection. Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing. I also noticed that I'm not able to browse the site in IIS's management console anymore, it just shows a blank screen when I click on one of the names and says There are no items to show in this view, although the name has permissions to view the folder and everything. Could it be because I have the Web Publishing service disabled (as I'm not using IIS to host websites)? That shouldn't cause anything should it?

  • pdftotext not outputting hebrew characters

    - by Ofri Raviv
I'm using Xpdf's pdftotext to get the text out of some hebrew pdf files on Ubuntu. On my local machine this worked fine. I then tried to do it on another machine and the hebrew characters don't show up in the text file. I verified that I have the language package (see below why I think so). • CentOS tftp server is broken

    - by Mike Pennington
I'm trying to run tftpd from xinetd on CentOS 6; however, I can only tftp from localhost. I have a file in /opt/tftpboot/fw.test.conf that I can retrieve if I tftp to localhost: [mpenning@localhost ~]$ tftp localhost tftp> get fw.test.conf tftp> quit [mpenning@localhost ~]$ ls fw.test.conf [mpenning@localhost ~]$ However, I cannot receive this file if I tftp to eth1 on this server (the address on eth1 is 172.16.1.4). • Authenticate VNC session with ConsolKit?

    - by lori
I have a linux machine running Fedora 16 in a cupboard. It has no screen or keyboard. I connect to it using a combination of vnc and ssh. Recently, after an update, I have had issues with authentication on the machine. If I vnc to it, the kde desktop pops up an error dialog every few minutes saying Authorization failed. Failed to obtain authentication. If I plug in a USB drive it fails to mount, Dolphin reports an authentication issue again. I have had limited success finding the solution. AFAICT, it is an issue with ConsoleKit deeming me to be a non-local user so it prevents authentication. This is the output from ck-list-sessions: $ ck-list-sessions Session5: unix-user = '1000' realname = 'steve' seat = 'Seat6' session-type = '' active = FALSE x11-display = ':1' x11-display-device = '' display-device = '' remote-host-name = '' is-local = FALSE on-since = '2012-09-16T08:07:03.137011Z' login-session-id = '1' I have tried to update my .vnc/xstartup script to include ck-launch-session as follows: $ cat ~/.vnc/xstartup #!/bin/sh exec ck-launch-session vncconfig -iconic & unset SESSION_MANAGER unset DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS export XKL_XMODMAP_DISABLE=1 OS=`uname -s` if [ $OS = 'Linux' ]; then case "$WINDOWMANAGER" in *gnome*) if [ -e /etc/SuSE-release ]; then PATH=$PATH:/opt/gnome/bin export PATH fi ;; esac fi if [ -x /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc ]; then exec ck-launch-session /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc fi if [ -f /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc ]; then exec ck-launch-session sh /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc fi [ -r $HOME/.Xresources ] && xrdb $HOME/.Xresources exec ck-launch-session xsetroot -solid grey exec ck-launch-session xterm -geometry 80x24+10+10 -ls -title "$VNCDESKTOP Desktop" & exec ck-launch-session twm & This has not helped. How can I either authenticate myself to ConsoleKit, or trick it into believing I am a local user?

  • Successful login with iscsiadm on target still doesn't create block device

    - by Halfgaar
I've set up an experiment to test iscsitarget and initiator, which at some point worked. Later, I turned the setup back on and much to my dismay, the initiator machine stopped making block devices for its successful logins. As far as I know, I haven't changed anything on either machine. Some details: # iscsiadm -m node --login Logging in to [iface: default, target: iqn.2010-12.nl.ytec.arbiter:arbiter.lun1, portal: 10.0.0.1,3260] Logging in to [iface: default, target: iqn.2010-12.nl.ytec.arbiter:arbiter.lun2, portal: 10.0.0.1,3260] Login to [iface: default, target: iqn.2010-12.nl.ytec.arbiter:arbiter.lun1, portal: 10.0.0.1,3260]: successful Login to [iface: default, target: iqn.2010-12.nl.ytec.arbiter:arbiter.lun2, portal: 10.0.0.1,3260]: successful Sessions: # iscsiadm -m session tcp: [3] 10.0.0.1:3260,1 iqn.2010-12.nl.ytec.arbiter:arbiter.lun1 tcp: [4] 10.0.0.1:3260,1 iqn.2010-12.nl.ytec.arbiter:arbiter.lun2 Netstat: # netstat -n -p|grep 3260 tcp 0 0 10.0.0.2:48719 10.0.0.1:3260 ESTABLISHED 1078/iscsid tcp 0 0 10.0.0.2:48718 10.0.0.1:3260 ESTABLISHED 1078/iscsid /var/log/syslog doesn't give errors: Jan 27 11:41:49 vmnode001 kernel: [ 378.041749] scsi7 : iSCSI Initiator over TCP/IP Jan 27 11:41:49 vmnode001 kernel: [ 378.044180] scsi8 : iSCSI Initiator over TCP/IP lsscsi doesn't show my devices: [0:0:1:0] cd/dvd TSSTcorp DVD-ROM TS-L333A D100 /dev/sr0 [4:0:0:0] disk ATA Hitachi HUA72105 A74A - [4:0:1:0] disk ATA Hitachi HUA72105 A74A - [4:1:0:0] disk Dell VIRTUAL DISK 1028 /dev/sda And there are no block devices in /dev for it: # ls -1 /dev/sd* /dev/sda /dev/sda1 /dev/sda2 /dev/sda3 /dev/sda4 I tried loading all scsi kernel modules I could find, but that doesn't seem to be the problem. • How to forceably unmount stuck network share in Mac OS X?

    - by Kyle Lowry
Not long ago my Xserve failed (power loss) while an iMac was working with files on a particular network share (called "Work Share"). This volume, "Work Share", is now stuck. It can't be seen in the GUI, you can only detect it using the Terminal. Even after power cycling over the course of several days, ls -a still shows that it's there, but I can't unmount it using any command - not even as root in single user mode. Every time I attempt to unmount that volume, I get the message that the resource is busy (which it can't possibly be since nothing is using it), and error code 4915. The issue is that when I mount the real "Work Share", it internally is renamed to "Work Share-1", which breaks all my links, and several files in the share. If I can't unmount the false "Work Share", then that computer would be unuseable without a reformat, I would imagine - and I don't want it to have to come to that. I've tried everything I can think of - it looks like sudo can't save me now. Any ideas on how to unmount this stuck volume?
