• Is there a modern Windows FLAC encoder application? [closed]

  I've decided I want to use FLAC for my music library, but I'm not sure what I should be using to encode the FLAC files. The latest release on flac.sourceforge.net is 5 years old, as are all of the other applications shown on the download page. Googling for updated encoders has just led me back to the same 5 year old apps. Is there a more up-to-date FLAC encoder, either a Windows GUI or Windows CLI app?

  I run dnsmasq locally as a cache server, in the old days, I allow all INPUT packets from lo+, and set policy of INPUT to DROP: -A INPUT -i lo+ -j ACCEPT Now I decide to put this on the raw table to speed up rules matching, -A PREROUTING -i lo+ -j ACCEPT But that doesn't work as expected. Why? Since the packets get processed by the raw table first, then nat, then filter, why isn't that rule work the same as the old one?

  I am a software developer, and I need to use old version of Borland/Embarcadero Delphi 7 for one software. The others ones are PHP software. I will have soon a 64 bits PC, running Linux, but I need a Windows 32 bits virtual machine for Delphi (because Delphi 7 is a bit old, and our clients still use Windows XP 32 bits systems). • How do I edit git's history to correct an incorrect email address/name

  When I started using git I just did a git init and started calling add and commit. Now I am starting to pay attention and I can see that my commits are showing up as cowens@localmachine, rather than the address I want. It appears as if setting GIT_AUTHOR_EMAIL and GIT_COMMITTER_EMAIL will do what I want, but I still have those old commits with the wrong email address/name. How can I correct the old commits?

  I am using Xampp for a local dev server, I am trying to upgrade it so I can use the latest version of PHP. I had it installed in my c drive c:\webserver\php I just installed everything new in a new drive D d:\webserver\php I then boot everything up and then I run phpinfo() and it is still showing my old version of PHP and even points to the old php installation C:\webserver\php\php.ini Am I missing something obvious here?

  What is the best way for me to migrate my VMWare Fusion Bootcamp Partition to a new MAC. Preferably I would like to import the current bootcamp partition in as a strict virtual machine on the new mac, instead of in bootcamp. The "older mac" is about two years old, so I don't think there will be any compatibility issues, but i do not have enough disc space on the old machine to import it as a virtual machine, and then migrate it.   I have got an old laptop (HP Pavilion DV2000, 5.5 years old) and I just bought a new battery for it (10,8V 5200mAh 6 Cells) probably not an original one. When I charged it full the first time, it reached a capacity (as see through the Ubuntu 12.04 Power Statistics tool) of 80%. After 3 full cycles, it's at 79.5%. Do you think it is normal, or the battery may be damaged (and I can complain with the vendor)?

  Hello, Recently I'm working on a refactor project from asp to asp.net 3.5. There are lots of .html file uses .inc file for the header and footer in the old site, and needed to be converted to .aspx uses master page. My problem is, for search engine and for bookmark those old pages are all gone Therefore I need to redirect the old .html pages to .aspx. I've been trying to find a way to fix that, finally i found ISAPI_Rewrite might be the tool that i can use. After a few hours reading the document on the site, i still have no clue how to write the syntax at all :( Could anyone give a some examples please? ex. rewrite all urls under www.example.com/en to www.example.com/ rewrite all .html to .aspx The server is using Windows 2000, IIS6, ISAPI_Rewrite 3 Lite Thanks in advance ben :)

• Google index vs asp.net url routing

  I've made the change from querystring asp.net webforms application to an url routing one. Now I'm trying to let google know that there's a new set of urls to be aware of. The G has indexed 133 out of 179 new urls sent in sitemap.xml, but the site:mistral.hr command returns the old querystring version of the links. This could partly be so because I left the functionality of the old querystring version of the site(for backwards compatibility), and haven't done any 301 redirects(nor do I know how to achieve them in my shared hosting account). The old querystring and the new url routing both point to the same Default.aspx page.

• Perforce command line only showing local users/changelists/workspaces, but P4V shows all

  We are using P4 for free with two users. In the P4V admin gui I can see both myself and my partner as users, and in the P4V gui I can see all workspaces (clients) and all changelists (both mine and my partner's). From the command line, 'p4 users' only shows me, 'p4 clients' only shows my local workspace, etc. Is there some mode, environment setting, or special directory from which I have to use the p4 command line to see those global objects? I believe I am a p4 superuser (since I read this is the default on installation and we didn't change anything). I'm obviously missing something very basic about the relationship between p4 command line and P4V. The reason I need to use the command line is to delete an old client workspace (used on a different machine) that has an empty changelist associated with it. I therefore need to use 'p4 client -d -f old-workspace-name' from the command line. But when I do it tells me client 'old-workspace-name' doesn't exist.

• How can I force mod_perl to only allow one process per connection?

  I have a perl cgi script that's fairly resource intensive (takes about 2 seconds to finish). This is fine as long as only at most 4 or 5 of them are running at the same time and that's usually the case. The problem is that when a user clicks a link that calls this script, a new process is spawned to handle that connection request, so if a user clicks many times (if they're impatient), the server gets overloaded with new processes running and most of them are redundant. How can I ensure that only one instance of this process is running per host? This is an old system that I'm maintaining which uses an old framework for the frontend, and I would like to avoid using javascript to disable the button client side if possible. Converting this to fast-cgi perl is out of the question as well, again because this is an old system and adding fast-cgi to apache might break a lot of other things that this thing runs.

  When formatting a string, my string may contain a modulo "%" that I do not wish to have converted. I can escape the string and change each "%" to "%%" as a workaround. e.g., 'Day old bread, 50%% sale %s' % 'today!' output: 'Day old bread, 50% sale today' But are there any alternatives to escaping? I was hoping that using a dict would make it so Python would ignore any non-keyword conversions. e.g., 'Day old bread, 50% sale %(when)s' % {'when': 'today'} but Python still sees the first modulo % and gives a: TypeError: not enough arguments for format string

• TortoiseSVN: how to set up projects on a existing directory structure of source code

  I have an old pet project I want to revive (haven't had enough time for it last year - small kid - you know) - so restored old copy of my dev folder from archive, but since I have rebuilt my machine since when - I can't remember what needs to be done now. I installed the latest version of TortoiseSVN, and the existing directory structure from my old dev machine looks like: ProjectName *SubProject1 **branches ***1.1 ***1.2 **tags **trunk *SubProject2 **branches **1.0.3 **1.0.4 **1.0.5 **tags **trunk I tried "import project" but it ask for a url - don't know what to specify there ... can someone post a url to a good TortSVN tutorial - so I could set up my projects quickly (I guess I need to setup SubProject1 and SubProject2) - then I install AnkhSVN for VS2008 and will spend this Sunday coding like crazy while I still have some time ;-)

• Windows 2003 IIS FTP Server Migration w/ User Accounts

  I'm trying to figure out the best way to migrate an FTP server from old hardware to new hardware. The server is on a domain, but not all the users setup on the server (to use FTP) are domain accounts, some are local to the server. For example, I have users both ways: domain\username machinename\username The new machine name will be different. So I need to copy all the files with permissions in tact from the old server to the new server. Then I need to convert all the user accounts from the old server to the new server. Then I need to change the file permissions so that they are no longer oldserver\username but newserver\username. Can this be accomplished all with CALCS? Is there an easy way that perhaps I'm missing?

So, my question: Where can I get dev tools that can still target Classic? (Ideally free, since this is just for fun, but if grabbing a used version of CodeWarrior on eBay is the best way to go, so be it.) Where can I get at least reference materials so I don't have to guess-and-check my way around Carbon/the System Toolbox? Are there any forums still running that would be open to answering old-school Mac questions for when I get stuck? This is purely for fun, so don't worry about how impractical this is. I know.

• reading a string with spaces with sscanf

  For a project I'm trying to read an int and a string from a string. The only problem is sscanf appears to break reading an %s when it sees a space. Is there anyway to get around this limitation? Here's an example of what I'm trying to do: #include<stdio.h> #include<stdlib.h> int main(int argc, char** argv) { int age; char* buffer; buffer = malloc(200 * sizeof(char)); sscanf("19 cool kid", "%d %s", &age, buffer); printf("%s is %d years old\n", buffer, age); return 0; } What it prints is: "cool is 19 years old" where I need "cool kid is 19 years old".   Hi, I need to do migration date-timestamp with timezone similar to described here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1664627/migrating-oracle-date-columns-to-timestamp-with-timezone. But I need to make additional convertion (needed to work correctly with legacy apps): for all dates we need to change timezone to UTC and set time to 12:00 PM. So now dates are stored in local database (New York) timezone. I need to convert them this way 25/12/2009 09:12 AM (local timezone) in date column = 25/12/2009 12:00 PM UTC timestamp with local timezone column. Could you advice, how to set timezone for date value in Oracle (I found only suggestions how to convert from one timezone to another) (for example in Java there is setTimeZone method for Calendar objects). We want to make a convertion this way: rename old date column to NAME_BAK create new column timestamp with local timezone iterate over old column for not-null values set timezone to UTC, time to 12:00 PM drop old column after testing of this migration
