    Hi all, I want to block users from changing directories when they log in via scponly's shell. How can I do that? I need to be able to provide users with their own upload directory that only they can see and read/write. They should not be allowed to execute any code, ie, change directories or the like. Thanks.

    I have two Windows VPS's that talk to each other. 1) I already firewall Remote Desktop to a few IPs. I want to require me to connect instead to the server via VPN (IPSec?) in order to then be able to RD. 2) I want to also only permit access to port 80 on the server if I am VPN'd in to the server (authenticated) 3) If possible, I want to secure communication between other VPS's I have using the same method?     Is it possible to enforce a maximum rsize/wsize in nfsd? I'm having issues related to IP fragmentation (yes, I'm stuck with NFS-over-UDP, contrary to the warnings in the manpage), and have no practical access to the client mount command (buried in one of many TFTP boot images). http://nfs.sourceforge.net/nfs-howto/ar01s05.html lists a kernel source parameter limiting the maximum block size, but I'm not gong to get away with recompiling the nfsd kernel module so that's not really an option either :-(

  • How would I isolate one netowrked PC to LAN only?

    I would like to have one of my PCs available to the rest of my home network for file sharing and VNC access, but I want to block any Internet traffic going to and from the PC. In other words, I want all local PCs I have connected to the router functioning as any normal LAN would, but when it comes to the Internet I want one particular PC to be "safe" from the Internet. My guess is that this is some sort of port blocking or some other router function, but I'm not quite sure.

So I have the config like rewrite ^/foo/(.*)$ /bar/$1 last; At the same time, I want to block public access to the real url /bar, Then I add the config like location ~* ^/bar{ return 404; } But when I add this url into the config, the 1st config above not work, now both return 404 Anything I should fix in order to make the rewrite work?     I have remote Windows 2003 server with two network interfaces e.g. Cn1 and Cn2. I need that all traffic goes through Cn1 except for one port (for me it's 3389, rdp for administration) that works over Cn2. Currently when I setup all connections work through Cn1, I completely lose connection over Cn2 - and can't connect to server via RDP over Cn2. Now I used static routing based on my ip address (which can changed - so it's bad).

  • Server access through switch port

    I am using wireshark to monitor traffic on a server - Problem is, the computer I am using is only a terminal wired through the switch. Main line comes into the server which is relayed to multi-port switch (roughly 50 connections). Right now I get a lot of server communication between my it and my terminal but shows no information for other terminals. Can wireshark be configured to monitor ALL traffic in this environment?

  • Configuring correct port for Oozie (invoking PIG script) in Cloudera Hue

    I am new to CDH4 Oozie workflow editor. While trying to invoke a pig script from Oozie workflow editor, i am getting the following error. HadoopAccessorException: E0900: Jobtracker [mymachine:8032] not allowed, not in Oozies whitelist It looks like Oozie is submitting the job to Yarn port (8032). I want it to submit to 8021 (MR jobtracker) port. Can someone help me in identify where to set the job tracker URL or port so that oozie picks up the correct one (using Hue or Cloudera manager). Previously I tried the following but none of them helped Modfied workflow.xml file /user/hue/oozie/workspaces/../workflow.xml file. However it gets overwritten when I submit the job from workflow editor. In cloudera Manager -- oozie -- configuration --Oozie Server (advanced) -- Oozie Server Configuration Safety Valve for oozie-site.xml property I set the following- <property> <name>oozie.service.HadoopAccessorService.nameNode.whitelist</name> <value>mymachine:8020</value> oozie.service.HadoopAccessorService.jobTracker.whitelist mymachine:8021 and restarted the oozie service. 3. Tried to override 'jobTracker' property while configuring the pig task. This appears as follows in the workflow file however it doesn't take effect (or doesn't override) and still uses 8032 port. <global> <configuration> <property> <name>jobTracker</name> <value>mymachine:8021</value> </property> </configuration> </global> I am using CDH4 version.   • Configuring IHS server to direct traffic to the Netty component bound to a port

    I have a Server Component ( based on Jboss-Netty, which could maintain & handle persistent connections ) deployed in WAS. This component when deployed & initiated within the WAS environment, binds to a port & listens for incoming HTTP connection. [ Why i had to deploy a Netty HTTP Server within WAS is another story - management requirement !! Netty is deployed in WAS as a spring bean which when initiated runs on a port in the machine, independent of WAS ] Clients (mobile app) were able to establish persistent HTTP connections (to the above URL::Port) with this netty component & send/receive requests. Now, I have to replicate this feature in our Production Environment where a IHS Server (Web Server) which sits before the WAS. What i expected is to get a IHS URL which could redirect the incoming packets to the specific PORT on WAS, so that the Client apps can establish a similar persistent http connection. Our Server Admin tried a few combinations and we are not able to identify how to proceed further on this. Your expert ideas would be highly appreciated.

I have written the application with the help of IO and IO.Ports but comport.DataRecived event does not fire, even though device is sending data on that port. I have some software on which i define the port number and it successfully display data, which insure me that data is receiving on the Port but i am unable to receive.     I'm trying to use SNMP to map outgoing ports on my host computer with the application running on the computer that is responsible for that communication. When running "netstat -ano" I get access to Protocol, Local Address (with port), Foreign Address (with port), State and PID. But I want to do this entirely without having to execute "cmd" from Java. By using SNMP OID: .1.3.6.1.2.1.25.4 (.iso.org.dod.internet.mgmt.mib-2.host.hrSWRun) I get access to PID (ex. 1704), Name (ex. cmd.exe), Path (ex. C:\Windows\system32) among others. There is an SNMP OID: .1.3.6.1.2.1.6.13 (.iso.org.dod.internet.mgmt.mib-2.tcp.tcpConnTable) that give you access to TCP connection state, local address, local port, remote address, remote port. But NO PID. So to sum up. My question again: Is there a way to "map" these tables together? Either directly in SNMP with other OID's or in conjunction with WMI / WMIC?

    In asp.net webpages framework what is the difference between using a content block versus a helper? They both seem to be used to output HTML to multiple pages. They both can contain code and both can pass parameters. Are there other differences? When should you use a helper versus a content block? More info: With Content Blocks we create a .cshtml (for example _MakeNote.cshtml) file to hold the content we want to insert into a page. Then we use: @RenderPage("/Shared/_MakeNote.cshtml") to insert the content into a page. We can pass parameters to the content block like this: @RenderPage("/Shared/_MakeNote.cshtml", new { content = "hello from content block" }) It's somewhat like an include file, but I think does not share scope with the parent page. With Helpers we create a .cshtml page in the App_Code folder (for example MyHelpers.cshtml) and place methods in that page which we want to call. The method looks something like this: @helper MakeNote(string content) { <div>@content</div> } The helper is called by using: @MyHelpers.MakeNote("Hello from helper")
