• mod_access for lighttpd causes a 403 error for all POST requests

  I have found on my debian server that running the lighttpd module mod_access is causing the server to response with a 403 to all POST requests. It's very odd as I have two servers, one is running as I'd expect and the other keeps returning these 403's. They are running identical configs for lighttpd and php. My lighttpd.conf is: https://gist.github.com/4269500 There is also one other custom conf: https://gist.github.com/4269508 I've opened up the servers for requests until I get this fixed, the server that works is http://mercury.isitup.org/ and the one that fails is http://venus.isitup.org/. After working out that disabling mod_access resolves the problem I greped all my lighttpd configs for uses of it (docs). Disabling each line I found didn't help, leading me to think this is perhaps some default behaviour (or bug?)... Has anyone come across this before or know what configuration value I've got wrong? • Bios wont post unless I restart power supply.

  I have an annoying problem with a computer. The BIOS wont post after it has been turned off and started again unless I turn the switch off/on on the power supply. The fans, cdrom hdd and everything starts running but the bios never beeps and the monitor stays black. I HAVE TRIED: reinstalling windows xp, flashed bios to latest, cmos clear, new power supply, other hdd, new memory sticks, graphics card. I also removed the motherboard from the computer case and laid it on a cardboard box and only connected the PSU, RAM and CPU. Other than this the computer works great but its annoying having to off/on the power supply switch before turning it on after its been off. My guess is that the motherboard is faulty but I would just like to hear what you guys think. Sorry for my english / Remy

I need a plugin for Winamp that will send the current playing track information to a PHP script, via GET or POST. I have almost no requirements... it can be the name/artist, or the filename (preferred). No fancy functionality needed, just something basic! At the end of evaluation, it turns this information into a report, which it sends to the server (if requested). And at the end of evaluation puppet agent would generate a report and sent the report to the master. Is there a way to get real-time status of evaluation phase and post them to a remote logcollector? Glad for any suggestions.

  Im looking for an FTP server solution, that we can host either internally on a dedicated server, or on Rackspace Cloud/AWS, that provides a HTTP POST notification when a file is uploaded, and allows user accounts to be created either through an API or MySQL database. There are several offerings that provide email notification - but has anyone come across anything that matches the above requirements. BrickFTP being a IaaS system is an option, but we would prefer something hosted in house. I don't believe the standard FTP servers provided with Apache can do the above ... can they?

  Hi, I'm trying to display all orders placed and I have a primary accessdatasource control that has a select query to get the customer information and the orderID. I want to use the orderID value from this first query as a parameter for the secondary accessdatasource control that selects the product information of the products in the order. In plain english, I want to:- select product info from product table where orderID = ? • Matching the superclass's constructor's parameter list, is treating a null default value as a non-null value within a constructor a violation of LSP?

  I kind of ran into this when messing around with FlashPunk, and I'm going to use it as an example. Essentially the main sprite class is pretty much class Entity. Entity's constructor has four parameters, each with a default value. One of them is graphic, whose default value is null. Entity is designed to be inherited from, with many such subclasses providing their own graphic within their own internal workings. Normally these subclasses would not have graphic in their constructor's parameter lists, but would simply pick something internally and go with it. However I was looking into possibly still adhering to the Liskov Substitution Principal. But if the default value for graphic is used, it'll exhibit two different behaviors, depending on whether you're using the subclass or the superclass. In the superclass, there won't be a graphic, but in the subclass, it'll choose the default graphic. Is this a violation of the Liskov Substitution Principal? Does the fact that subclasses are almost intended to use different parameter lists have any bearing on this? Would minimizing the parameter list violate it in a case like this? Thanks.

• GKSession sendDataToAllPeers getting invalid parameter

  This is my first post and I wanted to start it by thanking the many stackoverflow contributors who will never know how much they helped me out these past several days as I worked to complete my first iOS app. I am indebted to them and to this site for giving them a place to post. To 'pay off' some of that debt, I hope this will help others as I have been helped... So, my app uses the GKPeerPickerController to make a connection to a 2nd device. Once connected, the devices can send text messages to each other. The receiving peer has the message displayed in a UIAlertView. Everything was working fine. Then I decided to experiment with locations and added code to get the current location. I convert it into latitude & longitude in degrees, minutes, and seconds and put them into one NSString. I added a button to my storyboard called 'Send Location' which, when tapped, sends the location to the connected peer. This is where I ran into the problem. Both the send text and send location methods call the sendPacket method with a NSString. sendPacket converts the string to NSData and calls sendDataToAllPeers. When I learned how to capture the error, it was "Invalid parameter for - sendDataToAllPeers:withDataMode:error:". [.....pause.....] Well, this was going to be a question but in writing all this to explain the problem, the answer just dawned on me. Did a few tests and verified it now works. The issue was not in sendDataToAllPeers, it was in the conversion of the NSString (strToSend) to NSData: packet = [strToSend dataUsingEncoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding]; Specifically, it was the degree sign character (little circle, ASCII 176). NSASCIIStringEncoding only includes ASCII characters up to 127 so don't use any above that. I'm sure there was a quicker way to find the problem, but I don't know Objective-C or Xcode's debugging facility well enough yet. Whew! Several hours to discover that little tidbit. I did learn a lot, though, and that's always a good thing!

• Dropdownlist post in ASP.NET MVC3 and Entity Framework Model

  I have 3 tables: RateProfile RateProfileID ProfileName Rate RateID RateProfileID PanelID Other stuff to update Panel PanelID PanelName I have models for each of these. I have an edit page using the RateProfile model. I display the information for RateProfile and also all of the Rates associated with it. This works fine and I can update it fine. However, I also added a dropdown so that I can filter Rates by PanelID. I need it to post back on change so that it can display the filtered rates. I'm using @Html.DropDownList("PanelID", (SelectList)ViewData["PanelDropDown"], new { onchange = "$('#RateForm').submit()" }) for my dropdownlist. Whenever it posts back to my HttpPost Edit method though, it seems to be missing all information about the Rates navigation property. It's weird because I thought it would do exactly what the input/submit button that I have in the form does (which actually passes the entire model back to my HttpPost Edit action and does what I want it to do). The panelID is properly being passed to my HttpPost Edit method and on to the next view, but when I try to query the Model.Rates navigation property is null (only when the post comes from the dropdown. Everything works fine when the post comes from my submit input). However, when I run the client and add some info, parameters go OK, but in next time I input different parameters it'll input the same. I run this several times and I can't get the reason of it.   Using CakePHP 1.3 there are named parameters in the URL like .../name:value/... These are used for example by pagination links .../page:2/key:date/sort:desc/... How to generate links with HtmlHelper::link() adding/deleting such named parameters from the current URL? Basically I want create links to add/remove/modify the category:ID named parameter in the current URL. It must not touch the URL, anchor, other named parameters, GET parameters in the URL. Or how can I pass named parameters to HtmlHelper::link()?

  Good people: is there a way to express that my Spring Web MVC controller method should be matched either by a request handing in a ID as part of the URI path ... @RequestMapping(method=RequestMethod.GET, value="campaigns/{id}") public String getCampaignDetails(Model model, @PathVariable("id") Long id) { ... or if the client sends in the ID as a HTTP request parameter in the style ... @RequestMapping(method=RequestMethod.GET, value="campaigns") public String getCampaignDetails(Model model, @RequestParam("id") Long id) { This seems to me a quite common real-world URL scheme where I don't want to add duplicate code, but I wasn't able to find an answer yet. Any advice highly welcome.

• CGBitmapContextCreate: unsupported parameter combination

  I'm getting this error when creating a bitmap context: CGBitmapContextCreate: unsupported parameter combination: 8 integer bits/component; 24 bits/pixel; 3-component color space; kCGImageAlphaNone; 7936 bytes/row. Here's the code (note that the context is based on the parameters of an existing CGImage: context = CGBitmapContextCreate(NULL, (int)pi.bufferSizeRequired.width, (int)pi.bufferSizeRequired.height, CGImageGetBitsPerComponent(imageRef), 0, CGImageGetColorSpace(imageRef), CGImageGetBitmapInfo(imageRef)); Width is 2626, height is 3981. I've leaving bytesPerRow at zero so that it gets calculated automatically for me, and it's chosen 7936 of its own accord. So, where on Earth is the inconsistency? It's driving me nuts.

• Java generics parameters with base of the generic parameter

  Hello, I am wondering if there's an elegant solution for doing this in Java (besides the obvious one - of declaring a different/explicit function. Here is the code: private static HashMap<String, Integer> nameStringIndexMap = new HashMap<String, Integer>(); private static HashMap<Buffer, Integer> nameBufferIndexMap = new HashMap<Buffer, Integer>(); // and a function private static String newName(Object object, HashMap<Object, Integer> nameIndexMap){ .... } The problem is that I cannot pass nameStringIndexMap or nameBufferIndexMap parameters to the function. I don't have an idea about a more elegant solution beside doing another function which explicitly wants a HashMap<String, Integer> or HashMap<Buffer, Integer> parameter. My question is: Can this be made in a more elegant solution/using generics or something similar? Thank you, Iulian

• No long-running conversations - IllegalArgumentException: Stack must not be null

  Hi all, I have a very simple application with just 2 pages on WebLogic 10.3.2 (11g), Seam 2.2.0.GA. I have a command button in each, which makes a redirect-after-post to the other. This works well, as I see the URL of the current page I am seeing in the address bar. BUT, even though I have no long-running conversations defined, after a random number of clicks, and - I think - after a random number of seconds (~10s - 60s) I get the lovely exception at the end of this post. Now, if I have understood how temporary conversations work when redirecting this happens: When I first see my application, the url is http://localhost:7001/myapp When I click the button in pageA.xhtml, I end up in "pageB.xhtml?cid=26". This is normal because Seam extends the temporary conversation of the first request to last until the renderResponse phase of the redirect. So, it uses the cid (Conversation Id) of the extended temporary conversation to find any propagated parameters. When I click the button in pageB.xhtml, I end up in pageA.xhtml?cid=26 The same cid was given to the new extended temporary conversation. This is normal because the conversation ended at the end of the previous redirect-after-post, and not the number 26 is free to use as a cid. Is this all correct? If yes, why does this happen: If I re-type the applications home address (showing pageA) and re-click, I end up in pageB.xhtml?cid=29, which is a different number than 26. But 26 has ended after the previous RenderResponse phase, befire I re-types the url. Why is it not used instead of 29? So, to sup up, 2 questions: Why do I get the exception, even though I have not started any long-running conversations? What happens exactly with the cid? On what basis does it change? Cheers,

• How to marshal a COM-Parameter as VT_ARRAY of VT_RECORD

  I've already done some extensive search, but I can't seem to find anything matching my problem. The task I'm currently working on is to create a WCF-Wrapper for some DCOM-Objects. This already works great for the most parts, but now I'm stuck with one invocation that expects a VT_ARRAY containing VT_RECORD-Objects. Marshalling as VT_ARRAY is not a problem, but how can I tell COM that the elements in this array are VT_RECORDs? This is the invocation as I current use it. InitTestCase(testCaseName, parameterFileName, testCase, cellInfos.ToArray()); The parameter I'm talking about is the last one. It's defined as List<CellInfo>, CellInfo itself is already attributed with Guid("7D422961-331E-47E2-BC71-7839E9E77D39") and ComVisible(true). It's not a struct but a class. This is the condition failing on the native side: if (VT_RECORD == varCellConfig.vt)... Because of old software using these interfaces, changing the native side is not an option Any idea?

• Posting xml from classic asp to asp.net

  I apologize if this has been asked before. I searched and didn't find anything that matched my situation. Also bear in mind I am fairly new to asp/asp.net development. My current project is a relatively simple e-commerce site. The customer will connect to the site, select products, input shipping and billing information, payment information (credit card) and submit the order. The project is being split into two parts: The store front which includes displaying the items and taking the customer's shipping and billing information and the payment site which will collect the customers credit card, compute tax, and save the order into the company's system. The reason that the site was split up, was that our side (payment side) already has facilities for credit card handling and tax computation. There may also be some regulatory issues that the store front side does not want to deal with (which we already do). I'm working on the payment portion of the app and I am using asp.net. The store front side is being written in classic asp (not my decision). Each part will be hosted on different servers. The problem I am having is transferring the contents of the "shopping cart" to our app so that we can collect the cc info and submit the order. We had thought that the classic asp could somehow post an xml fragment which contains the billing/shipping info and the items selected. Our side would display a summary of the order, securely collect the credit card info, and submit the order to our system. But I have been unable to post or send the xml from a classic asp on one server, to our asp.net application on another. It all works just fine when I test on the same server. How can I post (or otherwise transfer) the shopping cart data from classic asp to asp.net across server boundaries and transfer control to the asp.net application? As I said, I am new to web development, so this is proving quite a challenge for me. Thanks

• jQuery ajax() function is ignoring dataType parameter in Firefox

  I'm trying to use jQuery.ajax() to fetch some html, but Firefox is giving me a "junk after document element" error message. As explained here and here the problem seems to be that Firefox is expecting XML from the server, and when it doesn't parse correctly it throws the error. Here's my ajax code: jQuery.ajax({ url: name, dataType: "html", success: function(result) { console.log(result); }, error: function (jqXHR, textStatus, errorThrown) { console.log(errorThrown); } }); The server returns the html with these response headers: Accept-Ranges bytes Content-Length 2957 Last-Modified Tue, 02 Jul 2013 16:16:59 GMT Note that there's no content-type header. I'm sure that adding one would solve the problem, but that's not an option. The real problem is that Firefox appears to be ignoring the dataType: parameter in the ajax call. I've also tried adding contentType: and accepts: parameters, but it doesn't help. What am I missing here? How do I force Firefox to process the response as plain text?

• PostgreSQL Invalid Value for Parameter Warning

  In PostgreSQL 8.4.3, I get this error when logging on to one of my databases (adus): WARNING: invalid value for parameter "default_text_search_config": "tsc_markets" which makes sense since executing the command \dF does not list any such configuration (and only lists the defaults). However, when I ask psql to show me the current value: adus=# show default_text_search_config; I get default_text_search_config ---------------------------- pg_catalog.english (1 row) In addition, the postgresql.config file has the entry: # default configuration for text search default_text_search_config = 'pg_catalog.english' plus, there is only one (user) defined schema that I use (also called adus) in this database. What's going on?
