  • Opening a file opens the folder the file is in, not the file itself

    Whenever I try to open a file (such as an .odt, or .doc) from say, the Dash or the Firefox Downloads, Ubuntu 11.10 opens Nautilus to the the folder where the file is, rather than just going to the application and loading the file straight away. In previous releases, when I clicked on a downloaded file, it just went straight to LibreOffice, and it was fine. This is adding a superfluous step in the process. How do I associate the correct extensions?

  • I want files in fat32 partition to be shown in My personal folder

    I have a 25gig partition in ext4 for ubuntu, an NTFS 25gig partition for W7,a logical swap of 2gig, and then a logical 60 gig partition in fat32 which i've read is the correct file system for files as music, pics, videos i want to share with Windows. The problem is that those files are not "asociated" or shown in My personal folder, and it would be great to. I hope I get your answers asap. Thanks

So when someone browse domain.com/robots.txt then a different file is shown. And when someone go to test.domain.com/robots.txt then a different file is shown.     I had many folders and filters and mail in general in Evolution on my previous Ubuntu install, which I thought would be available for me for I had backed up my home directory. I have copied now Evolution related folders to my new home directory, and Evolution is not showing either the folders I had or any of the filters. To be more precise, I have copied the mail folder to ~/.config/evolution/ but that hasn't changed anything, as I said.
