  • Extra blank page when converting HTML to PDF using abcPDF

    I have an HTML report, with each print page contained by a <div class="page">. The page class is defined as width: 180mm; height: 250mm; page-break-after: always; background-position: centre top; background-image: url(Images/MainBanner.png); background-repeat: no-repeat; padding-top: 30mm; After making a few changes to my report content, when I call abcPDF to convert the report to PDF, suddenly I'm getting a blank page inserted after every real report page. I don't want to roll back the changes I've just made to remove this problem, so I'm hoping someone may know why the extra pages are being inserted.

  • How to handle error with content-disposition

    Hi, how should I handle an exception that occurs after sending a Content-Disposition header for an attachment? I'm trying to generate a report at server and send it as a file, but if an exception occurs during the report generation, the error message itself is sent to browser which still takes it as a content of a file and shows a Save As dialog. User cannot know there was an error generating report, saves the file which is in wrong format now. Is there a way to cancel the response with this header and redirect to an error page? Or what else can I do to inform user about the error? Probably I could generate the report first and only if there was no error send the headers, but I want the report render directly to the Response output stream so that it does not need to stay in memory.     I can use the following code to attach a log file to my Gallio 3.2 acceptance test report: TestLog.AttachPlainText("Attached log file", File.ReadAllText(path)); When I run my tests locally I can see the log file contents by viewing the report in my web browser. However, if I run the tests under CCNET 1.4.4 I get the following error when I try to browse to an attached file in the report via the web dashboard: Exception Message The attachment was not inlined into the XML report.   • How to place text on top of image in ReportViewer

    I feel very silly asking this, since it seems like it just should work, but I cannot make it work and cannot find anything in the documentation about this. The problem: I'm developing an application in Visual Studio 2010 that is utilizing ReportViewer, rendering the report locally. In the report designer, I place a textbox on top of an image. This looks fine in the designer, but when rendering the report, the textbox is rendered below the image. Now, before you suggest it, I have tried placing a textbox on top of a rectangle (or other control) with the BackgroundImage property set. This works. But: I cannot find a way to rescale the background image to fit the control. Setting a different dpi for the background image does nothing. Simply rescaling the image to a different resolution is not an option, since I eventually want to print the report. Does anybody have a solution to this?

    I want to use a rdl file with the query information stored in it. I don't want to have to convert it to a rdlc file. I have an ASP.NET app that I want to show the report. I thought I would use a ReportViewer on my page and then have it use the rdl file. However, I get an error and in researching it appears that I have to convert the file to an rdlc file. I don't want to strip out the data contained in the report. How can I show the report to the user by running the rdl report?

    I have two tables. Report and ReportData. ReportData has a constraint ReportID. How can I write my linq query to return all Report objects where the predicate conditions are met for ReportData?     I am using iReport with JasperReports. I want to include multiple subreports that have unrelated sql queries. I would like to be able to put these all on one report. The problem I am facing is that when I leave the master report sql query empty, none of my subreports have any data. There isn't really anything that the master report sends to the subreports since they are unrelated. Basically how do you throw multiple unrelated reports together into one report.

  • Multi-threaded library calls in ASP.NET page request.

    I have an ASP.NET app, very basic, but right now too much code to post if we're lucky and I don't have to. We have a class called ReportGenerator. On a button click, method GenerateReports is called. It makes an async call to InternalGenerateReports using ThreadPool.QueueUserWorkItem and returns, ending the ASP.NET response. It doesn't provide any completion callback or anything. InternalGenerateReports creates and maintains five threads in the threadpool, one report per thread, also using QueueUserWorkItem, by 'creating' five threads, also with and waiting until calls on all of them complete, in a loop. Each thread uses an ASP.NET ReportViewer control to render a report to HTML. That is, for 200 reports, InternalGenerateReports should create 5 threads 40 times. As threads complete, report data is queued, and when all five have completed, report data is flushed to disk. My biggest problems are that after running for just one report, the aspnet process is 'hung', and also that at around 200 reports, the app just hangs. I just simplified this code to run in a single thread, and this works fine. Before we get into details like my code, is there anything obvious in the above scendario that might be wrong?

  • Is there a way to sort by more than one field in Crystal Reports?

    I'm using Crystal Report with VB.NET in Visual Studio 2005. I have report that works if I pass in a list of List(Of Stuff). I had been sorting the report by one of the members of Stuff but a need now to sort first by one member, like Stuff.StatusCode and then by another member, like Stuff.ItemNumber. Can I do this just be having more than one SortField member, or do I need to do it some other way? Thanks as always!

    Using vs2008, winforms C#. Im using the crystal reports version that comes with vs2008. I can create and load a crystal report ok. But becasue it can take a few minutes to load, i want to bring up a wait cursor, but am having trouble with that. I have tried setting the this.crystalReportViewer1.Cursor = Cursors.WaitCursor; and tried the parent form this.cursor = cursors.waitcursor; The cursor changes briefly to wait mode, then changes back before the report has finished loading. How can i best set the wait cursor before the report starts to load, force it to stay in wait mode then change it back to the arrow, only after the report has finished loading thanks for any advice

This is based off a report built in SQL Server Report Builder, where the user can specify multiple text values as a single report parameter. The query for the report grabs all of the values the user selected and stores them in a single variable. This is not permitted when the subquery follows =, !=, <, <= , >, >= or when the subquery is used as an expression. Am I even on the right track here? Sorry if the example looks long-winded or confusing.

  • Crystal Reports.NET problems accessing FieldObject for page count

    Hi, We're using Crystal Reports.NET that was bundled with VS2005. We have a confirmation booking form letter report that we want to batch print. Generally this prints one page per person on letterhead paper, however occasionally if they've booked lots of courses the letter rolls over to two pages. The second page should not be printed to letterhead paper. Basically, because it's a rare occurance I was just going to print the lot and pause if a particular letter went over 1 page. I.e. Load the report, grab the page count, hollah at the user if it's more than one page otherwise carry on regardless. I have dropped a TotalPageCount on the footer of my report (Which I would supress if it worked!) and then try and read it in my application. Once I've loaded the document I am trying to call report.ReportDefinition.ReportObjects("TotalPageCount1") Which is of type CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.FieldObject I cannot seem to get the value out of this for love nor money (nor any amount of cursing and swearing!) I can read any items of type TextObject, but if I append the TotalPageCount to a text field, it shows correctly in the report but then returns "Page count: TotalPageCount" rather than "Page count: 1" for example. Soo, short of going out of my mind, does anyone have any suggestions? Either a way to read the value or a way round it. The printer doesn't have multiple trays, though even if we got one, I'm not sure how to convince crystal to print different pages to different trays.   • Passing parameters to service by URL - How do I discover the parameter names?

    Hi, I have a report to which I have execute-only access - I don't have the access to the RDL file. This report exposes several parameters which I would like to set from URL. I've successfully changed some parameters using the standard param=data form (as explained here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms153586.aspx). However, some parameters don't have the same parameter-prompt and parameter-name. Unfortunately, to pass parameter values by URL I must know the name of the parameter and I don't see how I can deduct from the report and its parameters prompt text. I've tried to inspect the source and post-data but to no avail. Anyone has an idea? Thanks P.S I also stumbled on this: http://odetocode.com/Articles/123.aspx. However, I wasn't able to connect to the web-services of my report server.

    I am trying to generate a report using SSRS 2008. During report processing i am facing an error which states.."An error has occured during report processing .Query execution failed for dataset (datasetno).A severe error occured opn the current command.The results if any,should be discarded.Operation cancelled by user ". The datasetname for which query execution is failing is changing randomly.When I am executing those dataset queries seperately it was not throwing any errors.Sometimes I am getting my report without any failure. I am really fix in this issue.Don't have any clue how to solve this error. plz anyone help me. Thanks in advance.
