  I'm trying to create a rule using Chinese characters #RewriteRule ^zh(.*) /???$1 [L,R=301] creates error 500 when i change the file to UTF-8 #RewriteRule ^zh(.*) /%E4%B8%AD%E6%96%87%E7%89%88$1 [L,R=301] redirects to /%25E4%25B8%25AD%25E6%2596%2587%25E7%2589%2588 (basically replacing % with %25) Anybody familiar with this problem?

  I have SQL Server 2005 operating on a remotely hosted server and wish to access it from my own machine using management studio The firewall on the remote server is allready setup to allow all traffic from my external IP - and that works great. However I have a load balancing router that has a second line attached to it - unfortunatly the second line has a dynamic external IP. I need to therefore set up a rule in the router to always send data from Management studio on the first line - but I need to know the port numbers. Can you advise?

Much of the information I read arbitrarily differentiates between high-traffic vs the unstated non-high-traffic websites. Example in question: RewriteRule .*\.(jpg|jpe?g|gif|png|bmp)$ http://%{HTTP_HOST}/no-leech.jpg [R,NC] The motive behind this question is a desire to create a single htaccess file that would match against an addon domain (on a shared hosting account) and an infinite amount of subdomains below it to prevent hotlinking of images.

• Apache ignore my .htaccess 'dontlog' option

  I wrote .htaccess in file dir/subdir to don't log URI requests in this particular directory. The .htaccess is actually executed by apache (if i write deny from , it works), but if the file contains only this rule: SetEnvIf Request_URI "^dir/subdir" dontlog Don't work. AllowOverride All and mod_rewrite are enabled. What can be the problem? Sorry for my bad english.

  the built in command line ftp client in server 2008 does not support passive mode so I've used these commands to allow outbound ftp (it stalls without this) 1) Open port 21 on the firewall netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="FTP (no SSL)" action=allow protocol=TCP dir=in localport=21 2) Activate firewall application filter for FTP (aka Stateful FTP) that will dynamically open ports for data connections netsh advfirewall set global StatefulFtp enable however in server 2008 r2, these commands seem to work, but it does not affect the outbound ftp, it stalls I do not want to use an alt client

What I think - if I want to access my media centre (using for example SSH or HTTP) and it is suspended, is it possible to catch the ICMP packet (saying the machine is offline) and send the WOL packet to wakeup the machine and resend the SSH or HTTP request? • Devices renamed with udev not working, original device node still there

  I'm trying to rename certain video devices using udev. Here's a rule (broken down for readability): ACTION=="add", SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTR{busnum}=="1", ATTR{devpath}=="2", ATTR{idVendor}=="05e1", NAME="video97" It works. /dev/video97 is created But the original /dev/video1 node is STILL there. The even worse, when I try to view the /dev/video97 node in guvcview it doesn't work, while the original node DOES work.

The thing i would like to do is when i access example.com from lan to connection be routed directly on my server, not to the nearest DNS. • SPF blocking some emails. How to complete disable it?

  We have configured a SMTP server on IIS. We have not configured any SPF rule. Some emails are going straight to the badmail folder. Most of them have this error message: Address does not pass the Sender Policy Framework Is there any way to disable that? I know this is insecure and spammers could use it to send spam, but I really need it to be disabled for now until I have configured and tested the SPF correctly.

  Hi, I'm looking for the rewrite rule for mod_rewrite in Apache so that when asking for a specific subdirectory, it and all its contents gets redirected to another location. I currently have the following: RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ^/SUBDIRECTORY(/.*)? /another/location But this only manages to redirect /SUBDIRECTORY requests to the desired location, while all others (like (/SUBDIRECTORY/ , /SUBDIRECTORY/anything/else ) gets me an error telling me that the redirection is not valid... any ideas?   I have a server installed on one local Win7 machine (say as 192.168.2.14:8080/myAPP) and I want to access that server from different computer (say ip as 192.168.2.16). Even they are connected to same network I can't access server from other computer. I guess the problem is in firewall. This is working when I disable firewall and not working when I allow certain ports in windows firewall but keeping firewall on (As a rule to allow incoming connections).

• Simple, current how-to install mod-security on cPanel server?

  Does anyone have or know of a simple, up to date how to for installing mod-security on cPanel and configuring it after install? Every how to on the web I've found is at least two years old and is based on a mod-security addon function in cPanel which doesn't exist anymore. There are a couple of free add ons to simplify selecting rule files (configserver's for example) but there's no documentation on which rules a cPanel system "should" be using and so on.
