SQuirreL Client: Opening up a table in a separate tab

I've switched to SQuirrel Client to view an Oracle database with a variety of tables. At any given time, I need to look at the contents of several related tables at the same time. The problem is that, at least by default, SQuirrel Client does not open up multiple tables at a time. When you click on a different Table object, the main view is refreshed with newly selected table data. Oracle's SQLDeveloper (which I am trying to move away from) did this by default if I recall, but there was an option to "freeze" panes. Does a similar option exist in SQuirrel Client? I do not require the ability to view the contents of two different tables on the same screen (i.e. a split view) but I would like the ability to have tabs for each table so I can quickly switch between each table view rather then having to find the table in the table list over and over again. Note: I am using this in a professional capacity but if it does not "belong" here then I suppose it could be moved to superuser.

Calculating WPM given a variable stream of input

I'm creating an application that sits in the background and records all key presses (currently this is done and working; an event is fired every keydown/keyup). I want to offer a feature for the user that will show them their WPM over the entire session the program has been running for. This would be easy if I added a "Start" and "End" button to activate a timer, but I need to detect only when the user is typing continuously - ignoring all one-time keyboard shortcuts and breaks the user takes from typing. How in the world do I approach this? Is this even realistically & accurately possible?

plotting histograms in ROOT with varying variable names

I am not sure how to phrase this question correctly, but this is what I am trying to do. A single histogram can be plotted using cern ROOT with a following command, (TH1F*)electron->Draw(); But I have tens of histograms named in a sequence, such as electron1, elecron2, electron3, etc, and I want to write a simple loop to plot them all. I tried using sprintf and a simple for loop, but ROOT doesn't like it. char name[20]; (TH1F*)electron->Draw(); for(int j=0;j<5;j++){ sprintf(name, "%s%d","electron",j); (TH1F*)name->Draw("same"); } What am I doing wrong? I got the idea of the MVC and would like to try to build my program that way. But I'm a little confused about how to exchange information between those modules. I'm trying to get an entity (a bullet, a grenade, and an explosive) from my player player. Specifically, I want the shootingRate of my bullet (how frequently it can be fired). How can I do this without having to call getEntityByType each time I fire this projectile? SSI: Failed String Comparison with CGI Environment Variable [migrated]

I am currently working on developing a personal website. It's not my first time doing this, but this is my first major foray into implementing SSI. I've run myself into a wall, however, with an if-else directive that uses one of the CGI environment variables as part of its comparison. Even after some limited attempts at debugging, all of the output and documentation that I have means that the comparisons being made should fail outright. This is not the case, and the wrong evaluation is being made by the if-else directive. SQL binary value to PHP variable leading zeros

Using sql query to pull data from a mssql database results in a value that still has leading zeros. The data in database is stored as binary(13) - so it will pull all 13 digits. However the value is a text, so any leading zeros will generally show up as '?' in a form on the site - and in return will update wrong data to the database later. So what i need is to only select/display the text itself, not all 13 bytes. using: SELECT CONVERT(char,uilock_pw) AS uipwd FROM tbl_UserAccount or SELECT uilock_pw FROM tbl_UserAccount still adds the leading zeros to the char array. Example in database: 0x71776531323300000000000000 Would show up as: qwe123??????? But should be: qwe123 Im not even sure what character those ? represent. Using Echo results in a normal qwe123 - but not in a form.

Defining pages by custom variable, reporting to Google Analytics

Does anyone know how I could add some information to my page (whether in a meta tag or some other way) to indicate to Google Analytics that a page is targeted to a certain segment? This is pretty straightforward on my main site where everything is set up in hierarchy by target user so I can just use the URL to filter the data. However for my subdomains, its a flat structure that's just a bunch of landing and conversion pages so I can't use the URL. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

I have this type of data categories: today news - news item jobs news - news item general news - sub category news - news item So i have followed the very good tutorial 'Building an iPhone App Combining Tab Bar, Navigation and Tab' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBnPfAtswgw and all is good with the 1st two 'todays news' and 'jobs news' but can't figure out the best method for implementing the sub category table view? Do i use the same table view but reload it with the sub categories then some how work out when one is click that it's a sub category or is there a better method? Sql server table can be queried but not updated

i have a table which was always updatable before, but then suddenly i can no longer update the any of the columns in the table. i can still query the whole table and the results come back very fast, but the moment i try to update a column in the table, the update query simply stalls and does nothing. i tried using select req_transactionUOW from master..syslockinfo where req_spid = -2 to see if some orphaned transaction was locking the table, but it returns no results. i can't seems to find signs of my table being locked, but simply cannot update it. any clues as to how to fix the table or whatever state it is in?

MySQL + MyISAM table size question

Hello, I have a test table. The test table is as follows: CREATE TABLE mytest ( num1 int(10) unsigned NOT NULL, KEY key1 (num1) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1; I inserted 50 million rows in this table. When I do show table status the avg_row_length is 7. I was expecting to see 4 since mySQL uses 4 bytes for integers. Does the key have an effect on the avg_row_length? How to efficiently SELECT rows from database table based on selected set of values

I have a transaction table of 1 million rows. The table has a field name "Code" to keep customer's ID. There are about 10,000 different customer code. I have an GUI interface allow user to render a report from transaction table. User may select arbitrary number of customers for rendering. I use IN operator first and it works for few customers: SELECT * FROM TRANS_TABLE WHERE CODE IN ('...', '...', '...') I quickly run into problem if I select few thousand customers. There is limitation using IN operator. An alternate way is create a temporary table with only one field of CODE, and inject selected customer codes into the temporary table using INSERT statement. I may then using SELECT A.* FROM TRANS_TABLE A INNER JOIN TEMP B ON (A.CODE=B.CODE) This works nice for huge selection. However, there is performance overhead for temporary table creation, INSERT injection and dropping of temporary table. Do you aware of better solution to handle this situation?

SSIS - Update flag of selected rows from more than one table

Hi I have a SSIS package that copies data from table A to table B and sets a flag in table A so that the same data is not copied subsequently. This works great by using the following as the SQL command text on the ADO Net Source object: update transfer set ProcessDateTimeStamp = GetDate(), LastUpdatedBy = 'legacy processed' output inserted.* where LastUpdatedBy = 'legacy' and ProcessDateTimeStamp is not null The problem I have is that I need to run a similar data copy but from two sources table, joined on a primary / foreign key - select from table A join table B update flag in table A. I don't think I can use the technique above because I don't know where I'd put the join! Is there another way around this problem? Thanks Rob.

MVC Entity Model not showing my table

I have a database with multiple tables, and some basic relationships. Here is an example of the problem I am having: My Database: **Org** ID Name etc **Detail1** ID D1name **Org_Detail1** Org_ID Detail1_ID **Detail2** ID D2Name **Org_Detail2** Org_ID Detial1_ID BooleanField My problem is, the Org_detail1 table is not showing up in the entity model, but the Org_Details2 table does. I thought it may have been because the Org_Detail1 table only contains two ID fields that are both primary keys, while the Org_Details2 table contains 2 primary key ID fields as well as a boolean field. If I add a dummy field to Org_detail1 and update it, it still won't show up and wont allow me to add a new entity relating to the Org_Detail1 table. The table won't even show up in the list, but it is listed under the tables. Is there any solution to get this table to appear in my model?

I have been pulling my hair out with this one. Please help.

DB2 Child Table - Auto Delete With Parent

I have a bit of a task before me. (DB2 Database) I need to create a table that will be a child table (is that what it is called in SQL?) I need it so that it has a foreign key constraint with my other table, so when the parent table is modified (record deleted) the child table also loses that record. Once I have the table, I also need to populate it with the data from the other table (if there is an easy way to UPDATE this). If you could point me in the right direction, this would help alot, as I do not even know what syntax to look for. Thanks in advance

I had created a new table named USERLOG with two fields from a previous VIEW. The table already consist of about 9000 records. The two fields taken from the VIEW, i.e. weblog_views consist of IP (consists of IP address), and WEB_LINK (consists of URL). This is the code I used, CREATE TABLE USERLOG AS SELECT C_IP, WEB_LINK FROM weblog_views; I want to add another column to this table called the USER_ID, which would consists of a sequence starting with 1 to 9000 records to create a unique id for each existing rows. I need help with this part. I'm using Oracle SQL Developer: ODMiner version 3.0.04. I tried using the AUTO-INCREMENT option, ALTER TABLE USERLOG ADD USER_ID INT UNSIGNED NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT; But I get an error with this, Error report: SQL Error: ORA-01735: invalid ALTER TABLE option 01735. 00000 - "invalid ALTER TABLE option" So, I would really appreciate any help that I can get!

problem with TEMPORARY TABLE

Within PHP I do: 1.) A temporary table is created: CREATE TEMP TABLE new_table AS SELECT .... FROM ...; 2.) AFter that I want to use this table to create a shape file: shell_exec ("pgsql2shp .... -u username -P password ...); Separetly those two things work, but by creating a temporary table and after that using this table in pgsql2shp does not work. I pressume this is because temporary table duration is to the end of session. But to create shp file I need to use username and password what means new session starts and temporary table is dropped before I use it for shape creation. Any tip how to solve it? Thank you!
