Settings are as follows - Apache - Handles the name-based server www.MYDOMAINLOLFAKE.com on all addresses Address Any Port 80 Server Name www.MYDOMAINLOLFAKE.com Document Root /var/www/html BIND DNS Server - Master Zone MYDOMAINLOLFAKE.com ns1.mydomainlolfake.com IPHERE - works ns2.mydomainlolfake.com IPHERE - works mydomainlolfake.com IPHERE - works www.mydomainlolfake.com IPHERE -works mail.mydomainlolfake.com IPHERE - works ftp.mydomainlolfake.com IPHERE - works What I need - something.mydomainlolfake.com -- CANT GET THIS TO WORK What I tried - Create new virtual host Handles the name-based server something.mydomainlolfake.com on something.mydomainlolfake.com Address Any Port 81 Document Root: /var/www/vhosts/something What happens - I create the new VHOST and then ALL address try to go to that new Document root.     1024x768 Truth be told, as I was getting my morning coffee today, I was pondering the recent election results more than Oracle [there, I said it]. But then an email from Glen Hawkins from the Enterprise Management team hit my Inbox and I started viewing this video. It was about the world’s largest convenience store chain, 7-Eleven, focusing on creating the best Digital Guest Experience (DGE) for their customers. Turns out that Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) powers 7-Eleven’s DGE Middleware Platform as a Service solution that consists of Oracle SOA Suite, Exalogic, and Exadata. “We need to present a consistent view of 7-Eleven across all our endpoints: 10,000 stores & various digital entities like our websites and apps”, said Ronald Clanton, the DGE Program Director for 7-Eleven. As 7-Eleven was rolling out a loyalty program with mobile support across multiple geos, it had many complex business & technical requirements, including supporting a wide variety of different apps, 10M guests in NA alone, ability to support high speed transactions, and very aggressive timelines. A key requirement was shortening the cycle for provisioning new environments. Whereas with other vendors this would take a few weeks, Oracle consulting showed them how with OEM provisioning new environments would take half a day, which was quite impressive. 7-Eleven has started to roll out this new program and are delighted to report that some provisioning cycles are as low as 10 minutes which includes provisioning the full Oracle SOA suite, Exalogic and more.   • kubuntu: wireless manager can't find any networks

    I just installed Kubuntu 12.10 and as I knew my wireless driver would not be recognized, I installed it manually through here. I suppose I shall mention that I also had to do this. The driver worked just fine until I restarted my system. Since then I can't even start over. I am really frustrated. You can the time in the logs, I didn't get up early. Just needed to share my feelings. Even the ethernet cable I have use is short for God's sake, I have had to sit at this massively uncomfortable posture for hours. edit: I discovered something interesting. When I boot my windows I see that my wireless manager says "disconnected" now. However when I start ubuntu after windows and modprobe rtl8723e wireless works just fine. Then again, when I restart ubuntu I am back where I have started. So now I have to start windows, restart my machine and do the modprobe thing to see wireless networks.

  • Visual Studio Load Tests Virtual Users Simulation

    Hello, I'm currently working on writing a load testing application that takes advantage of Load Test using Visual Studio 2010. The load test will simulate 20 users on the same machine, and I need some data to be shared in-memory between all simulated users. I was suprised I couldn't find documentation answering the following question: What seperates each virtual user's running context from the other? Does each virtual user runs the tests in its own process? Maybe in its own app domain? Or just on its own thread? I need to know because if each user is running tests in its own process then all the in-memory cache isn't shared and is created for each user instead of one time for all of them, which is bad for me.

  • Apache Virtual Host setup not working?

    I had follow this link to setup my first virtual host with apache2 under ubuntu 12.x. Looks easy but is not working. [How to][1] My internal dns can resolv the name, but my browsers is not showing me my webpage. from my lan, Im using ubuntu server no GUI. Every time I point to my virtual host name, I receive apache default page, I cannot see my custom page. My docs are under /home/mydomain/public_html This is my settings: ServerAdmin webmaster@localhost ServerName example.com DocumentRoot /home/example.com/public_html Options FollowSymLinks AllowOverride None Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews AllowOverride None Order allow,deny allow from all The rest of the file is the same. No, I even try to change the port from *:80 to *:81, restart and don't see apache listen to port 81. My localDNS running in other machine works. What I forget?

  • Is there a quick way of undoing a folder change in Far Manager?

    I love Far Manager. However, it has a feature to quickly go to the root directory of a drive with Ctrl+\. I do sometimes need and use this feature, but more frequently I use Ctrl+? to quickly insert the file name under the cursor into the command line. As it so happens, the ? key is located dangerously close to \ which is why I sometimes erroneously go the root directory (which then is doubly unfortunate since I originally wanted to work with a file in the directory I was in). Now I could probably just redefine Ctrl+\ to do nothing, although I still sometimes need that (can be replicated with a quick cd\, though). But Windows Explorer, in the wake of the WWW, provided us with a handy directory history and two separate ways of navigating backwards: backwards through the history and backwards through the hierarchy. Is there something quick and easy to get back to the folder I were in? This is less of an issue in C:\Users\Me (still nagging) but more so in deeper hierarchies.

  • Accessing class member variables inside a BackgroundWorker's DoWork event handler, and other Backgro

    Question 1 In the DoWork event handler of a BackgroundWorker, is it safe to access (for both reading and writing) member variables of the class that contains the BackgroundWorker? Is it safe to access other variables that are not declared inside the DoWork event handler itself? Obviously DoWork should not be accessing any UI objects of, say, a WinForms application, as the UI should only be updated from the UI thread. But what about accessing other (not UI-related) member variables? The reason why I ask is that I've seen the occasional comment come up while Googling saying that accessing member variables is not allowed. The only example I can find at the moment is a comment on this MSDN page, which says: Note, that the BGW can cause exceptions if it attempts to access or modify class level variables. All data must be passed to it by delegates and events. And also: NEVER. NEVER. Never try to reference variables not declared inside of DoWork. It may seem to work at times, but in reality you are just getting lucky. As far as I know, MSDN itself does not document any restrictions of this kind (although if I'm wrong, I'd appreciate a link). But comments like these do seem to pop up every now and again. (Of course if DoWork does access/modify a member variable that could be accessed/modified by the main thread at the same time, it is necessary to synchronise access to that field, eg by using a locking object. But the above quotes seem to require a blanket ban of accessing member variables, rather than just synchronising access!) Question 2 To make this into a more general question, are there any other (not documented?) restrictions that users of the BackgroundWorker should be aware of, aside from the above? Any "best practices", perhaps?

  • Using unset member variables within a class or struct

    It's pretty nice to catch some really obvious errors when using unset local variables or when accessing a class or struct's members directly prior to initializing them. In visual studio 2008 you get an "uninitialized local variable used" warning at compile-time and get a run-time check failure at the point of access when debugging. However, if you access an uninitialized struct's member variable through one of its functions, you don't get any warnings or assertions. Obviously the easiest solution is don't do that, but nobody's perfect. For example: struct Test { float GetMember() const { return member; } float member; }; Test test; float f1 = test.member; // Raises warning, asserts in VS debugger at runtime float f2 = test.GetMember(); // No problem, just keeps on going This surprised me, but it makes some sense -- the compiler can't assume calling a function on an unused struct is an error, or how else would you initialize or construct it? And anything fancier just quickly brings up so many other complications that it makes sense that it wouldn't bother classifying which functions are ok to call and when, especially just as a debugging help. I know I can set up my own assertions or error checking within the class itself, but that can complicate some simpler structs. Still, it would seem like within the context of the function call, wouldn't it know insides GetMember() that member wasn't initialized yet? I'm assuming it's not only relying on static compile-time deduction, given the Run-Time Check Failure #3 it raises during execution, so based on my current understanding of it it would seem reasonable for the same checks to apply. Is this just a limitation of this specific compiler/debugger (Visual Studio 2008), or more tied to how C++ works?

  • CTE to build a list of departments and managers (hierarchical)

    I need to generate a list of users that are managers, or managers of managers, for company departments. I have two tables; one details the departments and one contains the manager hierarchy (simplified): CREATE TABLE [dbo].[Manager]( [ManagerId] [int], [ParentManagerId] [int]) CREATE TABLE [dbo].[Department]( [DepartmentId] [int], [ManagerId] [int]) Basically, I'm trying to build a CTE that will give me a list of DepartmentIds, together with all ManagerIds that are in the manager hierarchy for that department. So... Say Manager 1 is the Manager for Department 1, and Manager 2 is Manager 1's Manager, and Manager 3 is Manager 2's Manager, I'd like to see: DepartmentId, ManagerId 1, 1 1, 2 1, 3 Basically, managers are able to deal with all of their sub-manager's departments. Building the CTE to return the Manager hierarchy was fairly simple, but I'm struggling to inject the Departments in there: WITH DepartmentManagers AS ( SELECT ManagerId, ParentManagerId, 0 AS Depth From Manager UNION ALL SELECT Manager.ManagerId, Manager.ParentManagerId, DepartmentManagers.Depth + 1 AS Depth FROM Manager INNER JOIN DepartmentManagers ON DepartmentManagers.ManagerId = Manager.ParentManagerId ) Can anyone help?

    In RAII, resources are not initialized until they are accessed. However, many access methods are declared constant. I need to call a mutable (non-const) function to initialize a data member. Example: Loading from a data base struct MyClass { int get_value(void) const; private: void load_from_database(void); // Loads the data member from database. int m_value; }; int MyClass :: get_value(void) const { static bool value_initialized(false); if (!value_initialized) { // The compiler complains about this call because // the method is non-const and called from a const // method. load_from_database(); } return m_value; } My primitive solution is to declare the data member as mutable. I would rather not do this, because it suggests that other methods can change the member. How would I cast the load_from_database() statement to get rid of the compiler errors?

I'm still fairly new to inheritance polymorphism, fyi.

However, it doesn't appear to let me do this. It seems like it will allow me to define players if I make it a non-static member variable however.   • Is it ok to throw NotImplemented exception in virtual methods?

    I have a base class for some plugin-style stuff, and there are some methods that are absolutely required to be implemented. I currently declare those in the base class as virtual, for example public virtual void Save { throw new NotImplementedException(); } and in the descendand I have a public override void Save() { //do stuff } Is it a good practice to throw a NotImplementedException there? The descendand classes could for example be the modules for handling different file formats. Thanks
