• How to run stored procedure 1000 times

  I have a stored procedure that I'm using to populate a table with about 60 columns. I have genereated 1000 exec statements that look like this: exec PopulateCVCSTAdvancement 174, 213, 1, 0, 7365 exec PopulateCVCSTAdvancement 174, 214, 1, 0, 7365 exec PopulateCVCSTAdvancement 175, 213, 0, 0, 7365 Each time the stored procedure will be inserting anywhere from 1 to 3,000 records (usually around 2,000 records). The "server" is running desktop hardware with 4 gigs of available memory on a server OS. The problem I have is that after the first 10-15 executes of an average of 1-2 seconds each time, the next 10-15 seem to never finish. Am I doing this correctly? How should I do this? Thanks!   I have a struct that reads data from the user: typedef struct { int seconds; } Time; typedef struct { Time time; double distance; } Training; Training input; scanf("%d %lf", input.time.seconds, input.distance); This scanf will be looped and the user can input different data every time, I want to store this data in an array for later use. I THINK I want something like arr[0].seconds and arr[0].distance. I tried to store the entered data in an array but it didn't really work at all... Training data[10]; data[10].seconds = input.time.seconds; data[10].distance = input.distance; The data will wipe when the program closes and that's how I like it to be. So I want it to be stored in an array, no files or databases!

I've got this kind of timestamp: 2010-05-10T22:00:00 (That's Y-m-d) I would like to subtract, say, 10 days (or months, whatever) from this, and have my result be in the same format, i.e. 2010-04-30T22:00:00. What function(s) do I need to do this in PHP? Note: I'm using this to do a computed field in Drupal. The result will be the date that an e-mail is sent. Bonus question: If 2010-05-10T22:00:00 means "May 10, 2010 at 10pm", is there a timestamp equivalent of "May 10, 2010 (all day)"? Thanks everyone.

  I currently have an array of around 8 - 10 numbers that changes on a periodic basis. So around every 5 - 10 seconds the numbers get updated. I need to get the top 3 numbers in the array every 10 seconds. This is all done on a mobile device. At the minute I iterate through the array 3 times and each time I take out the three highest numbers and place them in three previously declared variables. My question is what should I look to do to increase speed and efficiency in this instance?

On the first page the result ok: $curr_page = 0 The query would be: SELECT * FROM `news` ORDER BY `id` LIMIT 0, 5 But on the second page, the result from the query is adding extra news, 10 instead of 5. The query on the second page: SELECT * FROM `news` ORDER BY `id` LIMIT 5, 10 Whats wrong? Why the result has 10 values instead of 5? Thank you!

Instead I have to write, ArrayList<String>[] alist = new ArrayList[10]; or I have to create List of ArrayLists. Aren't arrays supposed to be more efficient than ArrayLists? Then why doesn't Java allow it? Also, what is the difference between following two lines. ArrayList<String>[] alist = new ArrayList[10]; ArrayList<String>[] alist = new ArrayList<?>[10];

  SQL Server Management Studio returns results in Grid View, Text View and to the file. When we copy results from Grid View to Excel there is a common complaint that the column  header displayed in resultset is not copied to the Excel. I often spend time in performance tuning databases and I run many DMV’s in SSMS to get a quick view of the server. In my case it is almost certain that I need all the time column headers when I copy my data to excel or any other place. SQL Server Management Studio have two different ways to do this. Method 1: Ad-hoc When result is rendered you can right click on the resultset and click on Copy Header. This will copy the headers along with the resultset. Additionally, you can use the shortcut key CTRL+SHIFT+C for coping column headers along with the resultset. Method 2: Option Setting at SSMS level This is SSMS level settings and I kept this option always selected as I often need the column headers when I select the resultset. • Final Release of Silverlight Tools for Visual Studio 2010 Released

  If you haven’t already heard the news, the final release of the Silverlight Tools for Visual Studio 2010 have been released! That’s great news for Silverlight developers and to top it off the crew up at Microsoft even snuck in a few new features including intellisense for styles (a big deal in my opinion) and the ability to easily manipulate Grid rows and columns.  One of the most time consuming (and boring) tasks experienced by developers is also covered with the new “Go To Value Definition” feature that allows you to jump directly to style definitions with ease.  That feature alone is worth the upgrade especially if you’re working with a large application that uses a lot of styles. • Announcement: Oracle Database Appliance 2.4 patch update now available

  The Oracle Database Appliance 2.4 patch is now available from My Oracle Support (MOS).  If you search for the Oracle Database Appliance 2.4.0.0.0 Kit under Patches it will display the newly uploaded bundles. The patch highlights include: Normal redundancy (double-mirroring) option providing 6TB of usable storage Enhanced Diagnostics - Trace File Analyzer and ODACHK Also, if you review the README, you may see content that says:        "The grid infrastructure and database patching, both are rolling upgradable. During our patching, we patch the node 1 first and when completed, we patch the node 2." I would like to clarify that the 'infrastructure' updates (OS, Firmware, ILOM, etc) will require a  short downtime of the ODA while it is applied.  When you update the grid infrastructure (--gi), the appliance manager verifies that the infrastructure was updated so you cannot just patch the GI without first updating the infrastructure. The high level update patch steps include (but not limited to): Download patch update to your ODA The --infra (infrastructure) is updated and ODA Databases are down and the ODA is/may be rebooted ODA and GI/Databases are restarted Issue the command to update the Grid Infrastructure/databases (The order of the steps are completed automatically and you cannot control when the nodes are brought up and down during the patching) Node 1 -- shutdown databases and GI Node 1 -- patch GI/database Node 1 -- bring up databases and GI Node 2 -- shutdown databases and GI Node 2 -- patch GI/database Node 2 -- bring up databases and GI A replay from Friday's with Sohan on the 2.4 release can be found here.  The PDF of the presentation is here.
