• Custom Output => List of Errors interpretation in VS2008 IDE.

  Hello, I have a "database solution" project in VS2008 - it generates SQL for more than one DB vendor from some sort of templates. In order to save time, I also have a tool in VS2008 configured (a Python script), which can compile an individual stored procedure. Now, with the Python script I have the freedom of processing the output and have it take on whatever form I want. I am toying with an idea of having these errors and warnings somehow recognized and populating the click-able Error / Warning list. This is what a typical Oracle error looks like: LINE/COL ERROR -------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- 324/5 PL/SQL: Statement ignored 324/82 PLS-00363: expression 'VSOURCE_SYSTEM_ID' cannot be used as an assignment target Warning: Procedure created with compilation errors. • Cannot change font size /type in plots

  I recently had to re-install my operating system (Ubuntu). The only thing I did differently is that I installed Matlab on a separate partition, not the main Ubuntu partition. After re-installing, the fonts in my plots are no longer configurable. For example, if I ask the title font to be bold, it doesn't happen. I ran the sample code below on my computer and then on my colleague's computer and the 2 results are attached. This cannot be a problem with the code; rather in the settings of Matlab. Could somebody please tell me what settings I need to change? Thanks in advance for your help. • inconsistent setTexture behavior in cocos2d on iPhone after using CCAnimate/CCAnimation

  Hi, I have a character that goes through multiple states. The state changes are reflected by means of a sprite image (texture) change. The state change is triggered by a user tapping on the sprite. This works consistently and quite well. I then added an animation during State0. Now, when the user taps - setTexture gets executed to change the texture to reflect State1, however some of the times (unpredictable) it does not change the texture.   My Objective is to use h:messages to convey user - error and confirmation messages.The CSS styles to show these two different messages are different, In fact I would like to use an image beside the confirmation message. for Eg: <tr> <td><img/></td><td><h:msg></td> </td>. • Keeping connection to APNs open on App Engine using Modules in Go

  I'm trying to implement iOS push notifications for a messageboard app I've written (so like notification for new message ect. ect.) but have no real idea where to start. Alot the current documentation seems to be out of date in regard to keeping persistent TLS connections open to the APNs from App Engine and links to articles about depreciated backends I'm using the Go runtime and just keep getting stuck. For instance, the creation of the socket connection to APNs requires a Context which can only be got from a HTTP request, but architecturally this doesn't seem to make a lot of sense because ideally the socket remains open regardless. Is there any clearer guides around that I'm missing or right now is it a better idea to setup a separate VPS or compute instance to handle it?

• how can you have the same form handle by javascript multiple times on the same page?

  I have a thumb gallery where I am using ajax/javascript to submit a form per image to report the image as broken seamlessly along with php. The form and script is templated so the script is in the header and then the form is printed multiple times on the same page with a hidden field with a different id for the value per thumb. So basically this is what i have. javascript in header just a quick idea of the forms i have. Just a quick idea not what I actually have. image1 followed by the form image2 followed by the form So when you hit the button it basically submits all of the forms at the same time. I am sure it can be fixed with a (this) or something like that so it only submits a single form at a time. • How do you get SQLAlchemy to override MySQL "on update CURRENT_TIMESTAMP"

  I've inherited an older database that was setup with a "on update CURRENT_TIMESTAMP" put on a field that should only describe an item's creation. With PHP I have been using "timestamp=timestamp" on UPDATE clauses, but in SQLAlchemy I can't seem to force the system to use the set timestamp.   I have recently been assigned a CSS & design project that's in a CakePHP environment and would like to know if I can add an additional button to the form, for a "sign up" link. • Java List Sorting: Is there a way to keep a list permantly sorted automatically like TreeMap?

  In Java you can build up an ArrayList with items and then call: Collections.sort(list, comparator); Is there anyway to pass in the Comparator at the time of List creation like you can do with TreeMap? The goal is to be able add an element to the list and instead of having it automatically appended to the end of the list, the list would keep itself sorted based on the Comparator and insert the new element at the index determined by the Comparator. So basically the list might have to re-sort upon every new element added. Is there anyway to achieve this in this way with the Comparator or by some other similar means? Thanks.

• Get other classes from an element with Jquery

  I am working on a small bit of script that will allow for easy and flexible creation of buttons. My buttons are made of three parts, a left, a right and a streched middle piece. There are three different sizes and three different colours of each. I have written the code that resizes the button to fit the text. Now I am looking to add the ability to easily set the colour and size. I was thinking of using three classes something like <div class="button blue big"> My script already loops through the button classes using each. Now I need to find out what other classes are set and adjust the pictures and dimentions used to fit. So how can I find out what other class selectors an element has? Also I am fairly new to jquery/javascript so I am wondering if storing the design as class selectors is the best way.

  I'm trying to read metadata attached to arbitrary PDFs: title, author, subject, and keywords. Is there a PHP library, preferably open-source, that can read PDF metadata? If so, or if there isn't, how would one use the library (or lack thereof) to extract the metadata? To be clear, I'm not interested in creating or modifying PDFs or their metadata, and I don't care about the PDF bodies. I've looked at a number of libraries, including FPDF (which everyone seems to recommend), but it appears only to be for PDF creation, not metadata extraction.

• Best directory to store application data with read\write rights for all users?

  Hi guys. Until Windows Vista I was saving my application data into the directory where the program was located. The most common place was "C:\Program Files\MyApplication". As we know, under Vista and later the common user does't have rights to write under "Program Files" folder. So my first idea was to save the application data under "All Useres\Application Data" folder. But it seams that this folder has writing restrictions too! So to sum up, my requirements are: Folder should exist under Windows XP and above Microsoft's systems. All useres of the system should read\write\creation rights to this folder and it subfolders and files. I want to have only one copy of file\files for all useres. Thanks for your time.

• How would you create a notification system like on SO or Facebook in RoR?

  I'm thinking that notifications would be it's own resource and have a has_many, through relationship with the user model with a join table representing the associations. A user having many notifications is obvious, and then a notification would have many users because there would be a number of standardized notifications (a commenting notification, a following notification etc.) that would be associated with many users. Beyond this setup, I'm unsure how to trigger the creation of notifications based on certain events in your application. I'm also a little unsure of how I'd need to set up routing - would it be it's own separate resource or nested in the user resource? I'd find it very helpful if someone could expand on this. Lastly, ajax polling would likely improve such a feature. There's probably some things I'm missing, so please fill this out so that it is a good general resource.

• sql server 2005 replication article conflict

  Hi all, I have a sql server 2005 database that I want to setup replication for. The problem is that the database has two schemas both of which have a table with the same name in it. For some reason even though the tables are in different schemas the replication creation fails when done through management studio due to conflicting article names (i assume its trying to create the same name for both tables in the different schemas). Is there any workaround for doing this in the studio, I can probably write a script or program to do this but just for this one thign is a bit annoying and it probably wont be allowed to run in production. Perhaps there is a hot fix or something I'm not aware about? Cheers,

• [jQuery] How to load vtip tooltip on a dynamically generated element?

  I'm new to jQuery and trying to combine the use of a tooltip plugin and a lightbox plugin. More specifically, I am using Colorbox (http://colorpowered.com/colorbox/) and vtip. Colorbox generates a div which displays an image like this: <div id="cboxLoadedContent" style="display: block; width: 400px; overflow: auto; height: 498px;"> <img src="image.jpg" id="cboxPhoto" style="margin: 49px auto auto; border: medium none; display: block; float: none; cursor: pointer;"> </div> I next add class="vtip" title="This is a tip." in order to use the vtip style, but for some reason it does not work when it's a title tag on an element dynamically generated by Colorbox, but works on anything already loaded on the page. Can anyone explain to me why this is and possibly offer some solutions to fix this problem?

• Is there an offline HTML editor for writers? [closed]

  All of our writers and editors use Microsoft Word for document creation and a lot of what they create ends up on the Web. Is there a good offline editor with a flavor similar to Word that they could use to create their documents. Styling of the content should not be a concern, only producing semantic HTML (most documents they create could be done using only header and paragraph tags for instance). They have tried CKEditor and TinyMCE but it is still too foreign for them and it is online so they don't trust it not to lose their work.

• Controlling a browser from Python

  I am looking for a way to control a browser from Python, i.e. fill out form fields and submit them, possibly call JS functions. I've looked around a bit, but as far as I could see PyWebKitGtk only lets you show the browser as a GUI element, not interface with it. Is there a way to do this easily? I wrote my program logic in Python, and I would hate to port it to JS. Besides that, even if I'd use pure JS "bookmarklets", those wouldn't be able to read/write to my local filesystem, would they? P.S. to quell your suspicions, I'm not trying to automatically fill out forum account creation forms or something similarly spammious, though the task is technically similar. I need to crawl/scrape sites for my research project.

• iMX31 dependencies?

  Dear all I am beginner in an silverlight application. So at first i looked on demo application which is provided by wince 6.0 r3 at location WINCE600\PUBLIC\COMMON\OAK\DEMOS\XAMLPERF - this contains c++ code and WINCE600\PUBLIC\COMMON\OAK\FILES\XAMLPERF - this contains xaml file with the images Now before running this application in an emulator. I at first proceeded with the following: I have first taken my workspace went to catalog item and added "Silverlight for Windows Embedded" from the drop down menu of an catalog item Then right clicked on solution explorer and choosed on properties and under configuration in drop down menu i have selected environment variables where i have added new variable called "sysgen_samplexamlperf" and assigned value as 1 for that variable. Now after rebuiding the application, i have dumped the image into emulator and i found that at desktop of device emulator i can see the exe file to which i run and i can see the application is working fine with 3d effects. Now same thing i proceeded in iMX31 hardware and i was not able to see the application running in a proper manner as it was performing in an emulator. So now what i feel is that there be any dependency when we run the application on hardware. So what can be the dependency? Also in this location "WINCE600\PUBLIC\COMMON\OAK\FILES\XAMLPERF" the images are in png format. So is there any dependency with an image format? Thanks and regards

• Textblock doesnt get updated when rendered in memory?

• Serving .docx files through Php

  Hi, I'm having issues when attempting to serve a .docx file using Php. • Why won't this work; opencv Mat_<float>

  I can't seem to get this to work. • Writing to the DataContext

  I have a function. This function takes an IEnumerable<Customer> (Customer being an entity). What the function needs to do is tell the DataContext (which has a collection of Customers as a property) that its Customers property needs to be overwritten with this passed in IEnumerable<Customer>. I can't use assignment because DomainContext.Customers cannot be assigned to, as it is read only. I guess it's not clear what I'm asking, so I suppose I should say... how do I do that? So we have DataContext.Customers (of type System.Data.Linq.Table) which wants to be replaced with a System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable. I can't just assign the latter to the former because DataContext's properties are read only. But there must be a way. Edit: here's an image: Further edit: Yes, this image does not feature a collection of the type 'Customer' but rather 'Connection'. It doesn't matter though, they are both created from tables within the linked SQL database. So there is a dc.Connections, a dc.Customers, a dc.Media and so on. Thanks in advance.

• Joomla ImageBrowser Lightbox not working

  I've been using an image browser for Joomla called ImageBrowser. It's great - easy uploads, easy for clients to use, even handles zip file uploads. I have Joomla v. 1.5.15 installed and the newest version of this plugin as well on 3 or 4 of our sites with no fuss or issues. Recently, the ImageBrowser on one of our sites started acting strangely. It was as if the Lightbox effect that we should have disappeared completely. I compared the settings for the site to another and found they were identical. I couldn't find a solution in the documentation or forums. Here's the URL to look at: http://neda.us/photos?view=gallery&folder=BSU+12-5-09. You can compare that to another of our sites with the same plugin and settings at South Oak Floors dot COM. You should be able to click on a thumbnail and get a full size view of the image in a Lightbox. Any help much needed and much appreciated.
