  I am getting the following error while sending mail by click of a button in MS access form I am using sendObject to send mail using vba code. The host 'smtp' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'pop3', Server: 'smtp', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D Points to note: I am able to send and receive mails in my outlook; Problem is only when send mails through VBA access application.(Means it is not a outlook client configuration problem) When i copy paste the Vba application to another PC, i could successfully send emails without any error. (means this is not a vba access application problem) Please help.

• How to add a dynamic library to Android?

  I want to add a non-native shared library to Android so every application on the device would be able to use it. I mean using packaged classes just like a core library as if they were present in the application itself. I studied Android source code to figure out a way to add a new path to the application ClassLoader and found out that it is created during startup and there's no way to change the paths later. I can use my own ClassLoader, but all I will get after loading a class will be a reference to a Class object. This way I will be bound to work through reflection mechanism, which is slower than the native execution system. Is there any way to organise a shared library on Android?

My application reads from xml and create tree accordingly.   Pre-Snow Leopard, I could use the following command: defaults write com.apple.loginwindow Finder /Applications/My-replacement-app-such-as-Terminal.app Which would a.) replace the Finder launching at login with an application of my choice, and b.) cause that application to launch instead of Finder when all other applications are quit. Is it possible to do this in Snow Leopard, or has this behavior been deprecated? (I don't want to disable Finder altogether, I just don't want it to start at login.)

• Sendto shortcuts not working on Vista

  I'm trying to customize my sendto shortcut following instructions posted on a How-To Geek article. The problem is that any shortcut I drop into the sendto folder doesn't appear as a shortcut when I right-click-sendto. If I copy the actual application (say, Notepad) into the Sendto folder, it will appear as an option but it will not run. If I create a shortcut by copying the actual application and pasting a shortcut, it doesn't appear. Anyone run into this problem before?

  Hello All, My Application is crashing due to low memory [ Received memory warning level 1 + 2] To trace this I have used Instrument and come with following points Test Enviorment : Single view controller added on Window When I don't use UIImageView Real Memory is used 3.66 MB When I uses UIImageView with Image having size 25 KB : Real Memory is used 4.24 MB. almost 560 KB extra when compare to w/o UIImageView and which keep on adding as I am adding more UIImageview on the view. below is sample code for adding UIImageview which I am refering UIImageView* iSplashImage = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"Default-Landscape.png"]]; iSplashImage.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 480); [self.window addSubview:iSplashImage]; AND dealloc if(iSplashImage) { [iSplashImage release]; iSplashImage = nil; } Issue is this 560 KB is not getting release and after some time application receives low memory warning.   I am getting the following error on my page: Security Exception Description: The application attempted to perform an operation not allowed by the security policy. To grant this application the required permission please contact your system administrator or change the application's trust level in the configuration file. The problem is with the following code SmtpClient mailClient = new SmtpClient("smtp.gmail.com", 587); What's weird is that when testing it at my localhost, everything works fine, but when I put it on my 1and1 web host it generates the error above. I contacted their support and here's their answer. We do check the error logs and the operation require a FullTrust environment which currently fall under restriction on .NET Framewor k What should I do?

• Why wouldn't a flex remoteobject work within a custom component?

  Please enlighten this flex noob. I have a remoteobject within my main.mxml. I can call a function on the service from an init() function on my main.mxml, and my java debugger triggers a breakpoint. When I move the remoteobject declaration and function call into a custom component (that is declared within main.mxml), the remote function on java-side no longer gets called, no breakpoints triggered, no errors, silence. How could this be? No spelling errors, or anything like that. mxml code: &ltmx:RemoteObject id="myService" destination="remoteService" endpoint="$(Application.application.home}/messagebroker/amf" &gt &lt/mx:RemoteObject%gt function call is just 'myService.getlist();' when I move it to a custom component, I import mx.core.Application; so the compiler doesn't yell

  I have an ASP.net MVC application that is using NHibernate under the covers for data access. I'm using the Windsor container to handle injecting ISession references into each controller. This works great, but now I'm looking to expand my application with a pluggable architecture so that I can have a core product and specific add-ons. I found a great article on doing this with MEF. My question is how to make the Windsor container and MEF container, life/work together so that I can achieve this. There was an article (http://codebetter.com/blogs/glenn.block/archive/2009/10/31/should-i-use-mef-with-an-ioc-container.aspx) by Glenn Block that talked about this exact issue. Then end then said that the next article would show you how to do this, but there's no part 2. Has anyone created an application like this using asp.net mvc, mef, nhibernate, castle windsor?

• Uninstaller that can work with failed installs

  I'd like an application that can uninstall applications that does not show up in the normal add/remove applications. I have an application that failed to install properly. It installs half way and then crashes leaving short cuts, folders with exe and config files in and some stuff in the registry. Ideally I would like to be able to point the uninstaller to the install dir and tell it to remove everything that references files in that dir.

  I'm using NUnit to test View Models in a WPF 3.5 application and I'm using the BackgroundWorker class to execute asynchronous commands.The unit test are running fine with the NUnit runner or ReSharper runner but fail on TeamCity 5.1 server. How is it implemented : I'm using a ViewModel property named IsBusy and set it to false on BackgroundWorker.RunWorkerCompleted event.   I need to run Symantec Endpoint Protection scans on Windows 7 systems using the SYSTEM account. I know that I can run DoScan.exe to manually run a scan, and this works fine using a regular user account. Unfortunately, when I try to run DoScan as SYSTEM, the application exits immediately without running a scan. Is there a way that I can get this to work, or another application besides DoScan.exe that I should be using?

The two situations that I am aware of are as follows: When our application is a multi-threaded application and more than one thread needs JPA transaction because EntityManager is not thread-safe and we need one EntityManager per thread. When any of the thread needs multiple concurrent transactions, we need more than one EntityManager in that thread because there is one-to-one relationship between EntityManager and EntityTransaction.   Hello I have a web application, which is using a MS SQL 2005 database. My problem is, that the application has no rolemanagement. So the application always accesses the database with one default user. But now I have to save and access a value only for the current user. Is there any way to do this? Maybe something like a session on the webserver? The best way would be, if there is any possibility to access the current session id of the webserver from T-SQL.   We are developing a rather large WPF based application and would like to include some automated UI testing in our test suite (which already contains a number of unit tests). The UI Automation Framework from Microsoft partly sounds like a perfect fit for programatically launching and interacting with the application in a test setup. However, I've struggled to find solid references for samples and experiences with the technology, the articles and small samples available on MSDN is not enough to convince me that it is a solid choice. So, does anybody have real world experiences using the UI Automation Framework in their test suite? What are the caveats and the gotchas? Any best practices when written tests scripts, can you "record and replay" to a scriptable format, how much should you facilitate the testing from the application, how did you incorporate it in the automatic build? Should we be looking in another direction than the UI Automation Framework? Feel free to post you experiences here or link to some good references I might have missed

  How do you replace the Passenger Application failed to load error messages. They are lovely, but I'd rather not display them when we move our application to production. It'd be better to just show them on the dev box and maintenance page on the live site. For clarification, this is the call stack page passenger displays when your rails app fails to load. I'd rather not modify the passenger template files directly. Passenger doesn't seem to be respecting: ErrorDocument 500 /500.html

  Hi , I built an application in c# vs2005 .net . Everything works fine when i run the application in win 32 bit, But when running the application in win 64 it crashes while trying to call the pinvoke interlockedexchange(which is within the kernel32.dll) function . This is the exception : unable to find an entry point named 'interlockedexchange' I didnt find the interlockedexchange function within the kernel32.dll under system32 directory but it was found under the syswow64 directory(in the kernel32.dll) . I guess that the .net runtime is configured to the system32 directory and not to the syswow64 . How is it possible to change this configuration ? Can you think of any other problem that could cause this? any help would be appreciated! thanks , Miki Amit

  I'm designing an application which will have a network interface for feeding out large numbers of very small metadata requests. The application code itself is very fast, basically looking up data cached in memory and sending it to the client. What's the absolute lowest latency I can get for a network application server running on a linux box? This will be an internal app running on gigE with no authentication. Any language/framework considered, with a preference for C, C++, or Python. Likewise for protocol, although HTTP would be nice.
