  • funny behavior of jquery code

    Funny thing is that if i delete the comment for alert(data[i].id) the code works. As it is in the example, the string is not concatenated thus i have no options in the select box. Hints?   • Spry Collapsible Panel within Collapsible Panel, inconsistent errors.

    Hello everyone it is me again with another question. The booking system located here http://www.divethegap.com/scuba-diving-programmes-dive-the-gap/divemaster-training.php?cat=16 There are 3 main collapsible panels controlled by the spry framework. There are then over a dozen more inside the first collapsible panel as you can see on that page. When you open one of those by pressing one of the 'learn more' buttons you will see that the main collapsible panel that it is in also expands to fit that content and the contracts if you close the smaller panel again. However as soon as you go to the next main collapsible panel 'summery and quote' and then go back to the first main panel by pressing the button that says 'back' there are problems. Now if you open up one of the smaller panels inside the first main panel you will see that the main panel does not expand to fit the contents and in fact the content of the smaller panels spreads over the other content, floating above it. Does anybody know how to fix this? Many Thanks,

    Hello, I'm trying to get a View in Backbone.js to save when there's a 'change' event if (and only if) the data has changed. Long story short, I've a 'change' event set on the View that calls this: function changed_event() { log.debug("Before: " + this.model.get('name')) // not 'contrived!' this.model.set({'name': 'contrived!'}); log.debug("After: " + this.model.get('name')) // 'contrived!' if (this.model.hasChanged()) { alert("This is never called."); } } I'd like to know why the model.hasChanged() is false when clearly the model has been changed. I'm not sure what other information is necessary, but if there is more information that may be helpful please comment and I'll elaborate. Thank you for reading.

    Hello, I am using an autocomplete widget, and would like a dialog to show when an item is selected. The dialog does show up, but I want a field in the dialog to receive focus when it opens. Clients will be sending votes for particular pieces of content, and receiving near-realtime updates of aggregated vote tallies from the server. The datastore needs to support: Storing the votes Summarising the votes in near-realtime Preventing multiple votes within an arbitrary time period (e.g. clients can only vote once for a piece of content every 1 minute) Something that already has client libraries for Node.js would be preferable.

    I'm using jquery.qTip on http://comps.gunnjerkens.com/phws/services/ Looks beautiful with the drop shadow and rounded borders in modern browsers...unfortunately the drop shadow is lost on IE. So I want to specify an IE-only rule that makes the border a different color than white.   • drew's autoSuggest plugin help with AJAX results not showing

    hey guys, i use drew's autoSuggest plugin for some time but up until now I have hard coded my data into my JS, I'm trying to see if I can use AJAX to return the JSON data and query data like that. I seem to have it working but no matter what I try I can't get the results to be shown in the drop down UL it creates via jquery. The JSON comes back as it should.   • jQuery: Traversing AJAX response in Chrome/Safari

    I'm trying to traverse an AJAX response, which contains a remote web page (an HTML output). My goal is to iterate through the 'script', 'link', and 'title' elements of the remote page - load them if necessary, and embed its contents to the current page. Its working great in FF/IE, but for some reason - Chrome & Safari behaves differently: When I run a .each() loop on the response, Chrome/Safari seems to omit everything that is under the section of the page.   • Android Custom View to Activity communication

    I have a custom control/view that observes the direction of a gesture within its bounds. I would like to send a different message back to the Activity hosting the View depending on the direction of the gesture. I'm having a hard time determine what the right way to do this is. I would think I could raise a custom event in the control and then stick a listener on the control in the activity, but I cannot find any information on custom events in Android. Right now the code above hits the server every time you type a key and does not wait for you to essentially finish typing. What's the best way to solve this? A. Kill previous AJAX request? B. Some type of AJAX caching? C. Adding some type of delay to only submit .AJAX() when the person has stopped typing for 300ms or so? Thanks
