But i am very comfortable in java and have 1 yr expericne in it.and dont know python. What shold i do? Should i start learning python to take advanctage of the twiste matrix framework??     Hello, I have been working with java and python, so I found a nice web host which has support for these. But my question is, why can you find so hard such hosts? I understand that php is easy, I also understand that oracle host is hard to find ($$$ of course), but what do they have against some good open-source, completely free java spring, jsp, django, python, ror, perl etc etc .... So rare to find hosts ... not to mention freelancer bids Thank you.

    I am trying to build a google app engine app in Java. The app is trying to get information from another site. On my computer I am behind a firewall and need to connect to the site through a proxy. Google app engine does not allow the use of java.net.proxy. Is there a way to configure eclipse so it knows that when I use URL.getContent() my local host will connect to that url through a proxy??

But now I've exported my project to an executable jar file and callig shell commands doesn't work any more.     Why does C# not allow const and static on the same line? In Java, you must declare a field as 'static' and 'final' to act as a constant. Why does C# not let you declare const's as final? I make the further distinction that in Java, every interface is public and abstract, whether this is explicitly declared or not. Aren't const's effectively static in nature? WHy does C# balk at this?

    Is it possible with Axis2 and Eclipse to generate a Web Service client and have it use java types that you already have in packages instead of creating it's own types. Reason being of course if I have type A already created and it creates it's own Type A I can't just assign variable of type A to variable of type B. The wsdl is being generated from a Web Service deployed to an application server. If it's not possible to generate it from that would it be possible to generate a client from the already existing java files.

    I have a piece of code that reads hell of a lot (hundreds of thousand) of relatively small files (couple of KB) from the local file system in a loop. For each file there is a java.io.FileInputStream created to read the content. The process its very slow and take ages. Do you think that wrapping the FIS into java.io.BufferedInputStream would make a significant difference?

The article mentioned using a persistence queue as a Batch Updater instead of immediately sending an individual insert or update to the database.
