    I have a page with multiple instances of anythingSlider on it and I'm using PHP to dynamically load pages that swap out the content in them. Reference: http://ceedcreative.com/CEED_2.0/ I would like to edit the anythingSlider to disable the previous / next buttons if the UL it's displaying only has one LI within it. In other words, no buttons, just a clean div that's the same heigh and width (no scrolling) if there's only one image.

  • How can I specify my own Rhino context in Java?

    I'm trying to ensure that my Rhino scripts (running under Java 6) are strict so that if a script developer misspells an expression I want an exception to be thrown. Currently what happens is the expression simply evaluates to "undefined". Now according to Mozilla org https://developer.mozilla.org/en/New_in_Rhino_1.6R6 there are features to enable strict checking in the context. I cannot find a working example of this. What I did so far was write a class to extend ContextFactory and then override the hasFeature method. public class ScriptContextFactory extends ContextFactory { protected boolean hasFeature(Context context, int featureIndex) { switch (featureIndex) { case Context.FEATURE_STRICT_EVAL: return true; case Context.FEATURE_STRICT_VARS: return true; } return super.hasFeature(context, featureIndex); } } Then in the Main I set mine to the default. ContextFactory.initGlobal(new ScriptContextFactory()); and I get an illegal state exception. :( Any ideas or samples on how this works? TIA

    jquery-1.4.2.min.js is 71.8KB Same file compressed through this tool, with gzip enabled, becomes 32.9 KB Which is better? If latter, why doesn't jQuery provide a packed file too instead of just uncompressed and min versions? Thanks

    Hi I'm using a wordpress plugin to allow user to comment using facebook and twitter accounts. This is the page i am testing the plugin on http://blog.pcpal.co.uk/2012/03/london-underground-wi-fi-connectivity-due-within-months/ When i click the facebook icon its opens up a windows where i sign into facebook ad then directs to a blank pages which has a JS error see code below <html><head> <script> function init() { window.opener.wsl_wordpress_social_login({ 'action' : 'wordpress_social_login', 'provider' : 'Facebook' }); window.close(); } </script> </head> <body onload="init();"> </body></html> # Error is Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'wsl_wordpress_social_login' of null If you can help then great..     I'm writing an extension for crossbrowser input&textarea selection getter and setter. So that's the way i write my code: HTMLInputElement.prototype.getSelectionRange = get_selection_range; HTMLInputElement.prototype.setSelection = set_selection_range; HTMLTextAreaElement.prototype.getSelectionRange = get_selection_range; HTMLTextAreaElement.prototype.setSelection = set_selection_range; get_selection_range and set_selection_range are those extended functions. So i just wanted to replace someInputElement.selectionStart = a; // and whole lot of code due to browser someInputElement.selectionEnd = b; // compatibility with just someInputElement.setSelection(a, b); someInputElement.setSelection({ start: a, end: b }); someOtherElement.setSelection(someInputElement.getSelection()); But then i met couple of difficulties in IE7. First of all, IE7 doesnt know what is HTMLInputElement. I don't want to extend whole Object. Well, that would be the last thing i'll do, but i want to evade it. Functions get_selection_range and set_selection_range are alright, don't ask what's within, you've seen it couple of times already. So the question is: is there any legit substitution for HTMLInputElement in JS for IE7?

I have the clicked item saved in the variable 'clicked'. If possible I'd like to delete the link around the image also.

  • Use queried json data in a function

    I have a code similar to this: $.ajax({ success: function(data) { text = ''; for (var i = 0; i< data.length; i++) { text = text + '<a href="#" id="Data_'+ i +'">' + data[i].Name + "</a><br />"; } $("#SomeId").html(text); for (var i = 0; i< data.length; i++) { $("#Data_"+i).click(function() { alert(data[i]); RunFunction(data[i]); return false; }); } } }); This gets an array of some data in json format, then iterates through this array generating a link for each entry. Now I want to add a function for each link that will run a function that does something with this data. The problem is that the data seems to be unavailable after the ajax success function is called (although I thought that they behave like closures). What is the best way to use the queried json data later on? (I think setting it as a global variable would do the job, but I want to avoid that, mainly because this ajax request might be called multiple times) Thanks.

    I'm trying to add style elements to all ALL the head elements in a document, including those in an iframe. if i use var heads = document.getElementsByTagName('head'); It just returns the first head element and not the ones in the iframe. this is the complete code : var heads = document.getElementsByTagName("head"); var style = document.createElement("style"); style.type = "text/css"; style.appendChild(document.createTextNode(css)); for(var i=0;i<heads.length;i++) heads[i].appendChild(style); but this doesn't seem to work! am i doing something wrong here...?

  • Why should I reuse XmlHttpRequest objects?

    From what I understand, it's a best practice to reuse XmlHttpRequest objects whenever possible. Unfortunately, I'm having a hard time understanding why. It seems like trying to reuse XHR objects can increase code complexity, introduce possible browser incompatibilities, and lead to other subtle bugs. After researching this question for a while, I did come up with a list of possible explanations: Fewer objects created means less garbage collecting Reusing XHR objects reduces the chance of memory leaks The overhead of creating a new XHR object is high The browser is able to perform some sort of network optimization under hood But I'm not sure if any of these reasons are actually valid. Any light you can shed on this question would be much appreciated.

    TLDR I have a function that runs on the end of a pan in an openlayers map. Don't want it to fire continously. I have a function that runs on the end of panning a map. I want it so that it will not fire the function until say 3 secconds after the pan has finished. Although I don't want to queue up the function to fire 10 or so times like setTimeout is currently doing. How can I delay a function from running for n seconds then run it only once no matter how many times it has been called?

    I'm trying to check if json[0]['DATA']['name'][0]['DATA']['first_0'] exists or not when in some instances json[0]['DATA']['name'] contains nothing. I can check json[0]['DATA']['name'] using if (json[0]['DATA']['name'] == '') { // DOES NOT EXIST } however if (json[0]['DATA']['name'][0]['DATA']['first_0'] == '' || json[0]['DATA']['name'][0]['DATA']['first_0'] == 'undefined') { // DOES NOT EXIST } returns json[0]['DATA']['name'][0]['DATA'] is null or not an object. I understand this is because the array 'name' doesn't contain anything in this case, but in other cases first_0 does exist and json[0]['DATA']['name'] does return a value. Is there a way that I can check json[0]['DATA']['name'][0]['DATA']['first_0'] directly without having to do the following? if (json[0]['DATA']['name'] == '') { if (json[0]['DATA']['name'][0]['DATA']['first_0'] != 'undefined') { // OBJECT EXISTS } }

    I have a JSON that returns from the server which tabs to build, so I init them in my JS like this: $('#tabs').tabs( 'ajaxOptions', { timeout: 20000, error: function(xhr, status, index, anchor){ console.log( status, index, anchor ); } }) .tabs('add', item.CategoryLink, item.CategoryName); Thing is, when I click a tab, and before it is done loading I click another tab, the previous request is aborted and never called again when I click that first one again! this is very bad, because it obviously didn't fetch the request, so what gives? I tried bypassing this by setting: .tabs({ cache: false }) but this is a bad thing to do, because I don't want to have a request each time again... it should be cachced if response was sent. using jquery-ui 1.8.1

    Hello. I have a problem: When I enter a text into suggestion text box, popup panel appears. But when user places mouse over this popup panel with suggestions - text box loses focus.     i would like to know what the rootPanel (which is in the entryClass) exactly is and how gwt loads the java code into the appname.html file via rootpanel. what happens there exactly? where is the connection between the rootpanel and the html file. i could not find any side which explains this process in a detail. the only thing i know i that all the created panels are div-elements. it would be very helpfulf if somebody could explain it or send some good links to websites which are explaining this issue. thx!
