  • Invalidating the HTTP Cache on read only front servers

    We have a CMS system and in the production mode a number of servers only have read-only access to the content (with a few exceptions) and the editors for the site work on the content on servers behind it (which are not available to the public). We're caching the content quite a long time on the front servers, but sometimes we want the content the editors publish to be available for visitors instantly. What would the best way be to invalidate the cache in this situation, should we trigger it from our code?

    Does anyone know a c++ library that uses advanced encryption standard encryption that can achieve encryption and decryption (using counter mode) in just two lines of codes. No need of padding or buffering the plaintexts the library will take care of all this. I have had a look at crypto++, openssl and libtomcrypt but in these it seems I need to write codes to buffer and pad the plaintexts which I don't want. In brief, I need something along these lines: ciphertext = encrypt(ctr_mode(),plaintext,key) plaintext = decrypt(ctr_mode(),ciphertext,key) Thanks!

But when I run svn diff for these file, Subversion prevents me =================================================================== Cannot display: file marked as a binary type. svn:mime-type = application/octet-stream I can still view them, but only with the --force argument Since all the files in the repository are of this binary code, how can I permanently force subversion to open the files for diff or edit mode?

I also create a lot of web services which are consumed via AJAX applications. Do these technologies really help you in speeding up development times? Do you still have to build the database or object code first?

    I have a web-app that requires two settings: A JDBC datasource A string token I desperately want to be able to deploy one .war to various different containers (jetty,tomcat,gf3 minimum) and configure these settings at application level within the container. My code does this: InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext(); Context envCtx = (javax.naming.Context) ctx.lookup("java:comp/env"); token = (String)envCtx.lookup("token"); ds = (DataSource)envCtx.lookup("jdbc/datasource") Let's assume I've used the glassfish management interface to create two jdbc resources: jdbc/test-datasource and jdbc/live-datasource which connect to different copies of the same schema, on different servers, different credentials etc. Say I want to deploy this to glassfish with and point it at the test datasource, I might have this in my sun-web.xml: ... <resource-ref> <res-ref-name>jdbc/datasource</res-ref-name> <jndi-name>jdbc/test-datasource</jndi-name> </resource-ref> ... but sun-web.xml goes inside my war, right? surely there must be a way to do this through the management interface Am I even trying to do the right thing? Do other containers make this any easier? I'd be particularly interested in how jetty 7 handles this since I use it for development.     I'm making a notepad-like program. To get the text from a file I read each character into the buffer by doing while (!file.EOF()) { mystr += file.get(); } however if I load in an exe it stops after MZ but Notepad reads the whole exe. I set my ifstream to binary mode but still no luck. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

    Hi, lets say I have a script like that: if(some condition) begin select somecolumn from sometable end Lets say, that "somecolumn" does not exist and the condition is not true, which means the select is NOT executed. Even though the select would not be executed, the script is not valid, Management Studio complains about the missing column "somecolumn". Question: Can I somehow disable this sort of check so that the script is executed and since the if is not true, it will never notice that the column is missing? Thanks :-)

  • Ctrl-M chars when transfer files SFTP

    Hi, I am sending files from a windows system to a Unix SFTP server using JSCAPE ftp client. However, I am experiencing the following issue: When uploading a text file from windows to UNiX, each line of text files transferred contains Control-M characters. I did some search and found out that If I use the "ASCII" transfer mode it should solve the issue. But the Ctrl-M is still appearing on the files. Can anyone throw some light in this issue? thanks in advance

    Hi, I've just installed a fresh copy of SQL 2008 Express. before I did anything I opened Management Studio and successfully connected using Window Authentication. However I tried to run the following on the command line "telnet localhost 1433" and got the error "Could not open connection to the host, on port 1433: Connect failed" I checked netstat and there is nothing listening on port 1433. Before I go any further, is there a problem with the install? thanks, Shane
