• Error occurs while using SPADE method in R

  I'm currently mining sequence patterns using SPADE algorithm in R. SPADE is included in "arulesSequence" package of R. I'm running R on my CentOS 6.3 64bit. For an exercise, I've tried an example presented in http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Data_Mining_Algorithms_In_R/Sequence_Mining/SPADE When I tried to do "cspade(x, parameter = list(support = 0.4), control = list(verbose = TRUE))" R says: parameter specification: support : 0.4 maxsize : 10 maxlen : 10 algorithmic control: bfstype : FALSE verbose : TRUE summary : FALSE preprocessing ... 1 partition(s), 0 MB [0.096s] mining transactions ... 0 MB [0.066s] reading sequences ...Error in asMethod(object) : 's' is not an integer vector When I try to run SPADE on my Window 7 32bit, it runs well without any error. Does anybody know why such errors occur?

• Merging XMLTextReaders in C#

  I have a website that needs to pull information from two diffferent XML data sources. Originally I only need to get the data from one source so I was building a URL in the backend that went and retrieved the data from the XML site and then parsed and rendered it in the front end of the website. Now I have to use a 2nd data source and merge the result sets (which are identically structured XML) into one result set.   I need to generate some passwords, I want to avoid characters that can be confused for each other. Is there a definitive list of characters I should avoid? my current list is il10o8B3Evu![]{} Are there any other pairs of characters that are easy to confuse? for special characters I was going to limit myself to those under the number keys, though I know that this differs depending on your keyboards nationality!   Suppose I have a 2 column table (id, flag) and id is sequential. I expect this table to contain a lot of records. I want to periodically select the first row not flagged and update it. Some of the records on the way may have already been flagged, so I want to skip them. Does it make more sense if I store the last id I flagged and use it in my select statement, like select * from mytable where id > my_last_id order by id asc limit 1 or simply get the first unflagged row, like: select * from mytable where flagged = 'F' order by id asc limit 1 Thank you!

• Android move data between activities

  Example I have 4 activities. A B C D A is a list of objects. B C D are used to add a new object. So A calls B then C then D . However C or D have button to 'add the object' When going up from B or C or D to activity A , A should have a List with these objects. Even if user tap back items should be 'saved' However I dont want to start a new Intent at C or D because i dont want user to go back to A and then click again add new item. I have been adviced to keep these data at application object. Is there any other suggestion ?

I've imported the necessary libraries. I mention that I work on a plugin project. This code runs in a class with main function. I don't understand why it gave me this error. Thank you !

  OK, I have a set of tables that I want to use for my user logins. I am guessing that I need a separate model for each table in the database. My tables are as follows: Users - user information such as first and last name, groups_id, status, etc... groups - defines the user groups with id, name, description permissions - defines a list of permissions that a group can have permission_assignments - groups_id and permissions_id. many to many relationship table I am not sure how to go about populating an array that would contain the list of permissions that a user would have based on the group they are in after a successful login. Basically, a user belongs to a group, and the group gets assigned permissions. I want to then be able to validate functions/methods based on weather the logged in user has certain permissions. Any help is appreciated

  Hi! I have a "super entity" SuperEntity and three entities ChildEntity1, ..., ChildEntity3 which extends the super class. It's easy to search for all entities in the database, i.e. we could use session.createCriteria(SuperEntity.class); It's no problem to search for one specific entity type, too, just replace the SuperEntity with any of the children to look for entities of that type. But I have a problem when allowing 'multiple choice' for the types. I.e., it could be neccessary to search all entities of type 1 and 2, but not of type 3. A first idea was to create two independent queries and join the results in a final list - but that would destroy the paging which uses offset and limit functionality of the database...   So i have a button drop down list that i want users to select a choice, and basically the button will return the users selection.Pretty straight forward, tested on jsFiddle and works great. Using ruby on rails btw, so i'm not sure if it might conflicting the way rails handle javascript actions. • is there any way to get country names from iPhone APIs?

  Hi, I want to provide a picker to the user to select a country. I've had a look in the NSLocale docs and I can get a list of all of the country codes supported on the device, which feels like a start: Code: NSArray *codes = [[NSArray alloc] initWithArray:[NSLocale ISOCountryCodes]]; But I can't work out if there is a programatic way to convert this array into country names... Ideally this list would be localized as well, i.e. show the country name in the user's preferred language. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

• Android ratings and listviews

  I'd like to add a list of reviews of books to my Android app. Basically what I'm after is a fixed rating using the RatingBar and a ListView containing the snippet of the review for each review. Once clicked I want the list item to expand and fill with the text of the full review. I have the content of the snippet, full text, and rating, but don't know how best to go about the layout. Any ideas are ok, I don't need full code, but I would much prefer to keep it to XML layout.

So... i've got an image gallery with thumbs, and everything goes well.. except... when i click on the first image... it shows - ok, but i can go to the next image by clicking "next". It's loading all the time. When i choose second image... everything is allright, and i can skip to the next images... but i also cannot go back to the first one.

• fastest way to perform string search in general and in python

  My task is to search for a string or a pattern in a list of documents that are very short (say 200 characters long). However, say there are 1 million documents of such time. What is the most efficient way to perform this search?. I was thinking of tokenizing each document and putting the words in hashtable with words as key and document number as value, there by creating a bag of words. Then perform the word search and retrieve the list of documents that contained this word. From what I can see is this operation will take O(n) operations. Is there any other way? may be without using hash-tables?. Also, is there a python library or third party package that can perform efficient searches?

• Delphi: what are the 8 mystery components on my form?

  When I iterate of the controls on my form, I see those which I placed there at design time or run time. They are all of type TEdit, Tmemo, TComboBox, etc ... However, there are always exactly eight which I do not recognize. I can skip over them, since they are not of a type which interests me, but I am curios. I am guessing system controls like min/max/close. Their Name property is empty. Is there any way I can determine what type they are (without explicitly testing for every standard component derived from TWinControl) ? I am curious - but not yellow ;-)

A basic problem is to keep the number of iterations low (i.e. at 1), but that affects readability.   I've been studying magic methods in Python, and have been wondering if there's a way to outline the specific action of: a = MyClass(*params).method() versus: MyClass(*params).method() In the sense that, perhaps, I may want to return a list that has been split on the '\n' character, versus dumping the raw list into the variable a that keeps the '\n' intact. Is there a way to ask Python if its next action is about to return a value to a variable, and change action, if that's the case? • Very basic database theory.

  I have a set of tables to show the relationship between organziations and supporters below. Although I have done some basic mySQL querries, I know very little about database 'design'. I plan to querry the database for: -a list of contributors to a specific organization... or, -a list of organizations that a specific suporter supports. The database tables for organiations and contributors may have other columns in the future and recieve a lesser amount of querries based on that information. A | X A | Y A | Z B | X B | Y C | X C | Z How should the tables be set up? I assume that there should be a third table, but there is still redundent information in the third table.
