  • Will there be any problem if i inherit aspx page from System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage

    I am developing a website which will be having both asp.net pages and MVC pages in it, So I have BaseWebPage class which will be used for both asp.net pages and MVC Views. but My BaseWebPage class is inherited from System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage, So Will there be any code/ functionality break for normal asp.net pages, because System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage is overriding some of the Pagelife cycle methods.

    I would like to implement something similar to the Google quick scroll extension with jquery for the extracts of a search result, so when the full document is opened (within the same website) it gives the user the opportunity to go straight to the extract location. So let's say the user clicks on the second extract in the search resutls page, the browser would open the detailed document in the same website, and would offer the user the possibility to go to the extract as the Google quick scroll extension does. Is there an existing jquery script for this? If not, can you suggest any jquery/javascript code that would simplify my task to implement this. Notes: I can access the extracts from the document details page. I'm aware that the HTML in some cases could be slightly different in the extract than in the details page, finding no match. The search engine does not return where the extract was located. At the moment I'm trying to understand the JS code that the extension uses.

  • .NET Impersonate not working!

    I have a webpage that allows a user to upload a file to a network share. When I run the webpage locally (within VS 2008) and try to upload the file, it works! However, when I deploy the website to the webserver and try to upload the file through the webpage, it doesn't work! The error being returned to me on the webserver says "Access to the path '\05prd1\emp\test.txt' is denied. So, obviously, this is a permissions issue. The network share is configured to allow full access both to me (NT authentication) and to the NETWORK SERVICE (which is .NET's default account and what we have set in our IIS application pool as the default user for this website). I have tried this with and without authentication, and neither one works on the webserver, yet both ways works on my local machine. The code that does the file upload is below.     Did any one have luck recently register Visual studio 2008 express C# product? Look like, I would have to reformat my computer and install every thing all over again. I un-installed it and installed VS2008 express again but it will not start because it demands registration. When I click the register button, the website launches and hour glass spins forever. I'm trying to change CSS values inside the textarea replacement (the iFrame where the text gets written) - but I just can't seem to figure out how.     Afternoon, Bit of a tricky question this one, I have a website and need to translate the pages into french, I am using google translate API to do the translation. What I am doing is loading in the HTML templates into a string using PHP and then need to translate the text copy on the pages and then save as for example: fr_master_header.html de_master_header.html The problem I have is identifying the text copy on the page ignoring the HTML, replacing the copy in the extact place and then saving the file with the HTML tags and trasnlated text copy. I came up with brute force naive algorithm, but it seems there should be better approach.     About a month ago I saw a portfolio website in Flash that featured a stack of cards, and each time you clicked on it, they sort of blew all over the place, thus exposing the backs as videos and pictures. Although I could easily take a bunch of 3D planes and tween them to turn and flip, these cards actually seemed to 'bend'. How is this effect achieved? Sorry I don't have the link to the example.
