• Installation of SAP Web Application Server 6.20 in Windows Vista

  I tried installing trial version of sap netweaver 7.1 in windows vista in my laptop but i couldnt succeed there.. then i tried installing SAP WEB AS 6.20 now.I am able to succeed till 91% completion.After that i get some errors and the installation stops... if anybody have any experiences please share.it will be really helpful.I mentioned the complete log details below. nfo: INSTGUI.EXE Protocol version is 10. • Driver for Ensoniq AudioPCI ES1370 on Windows 7

  KVM is a virtualisation package for running operating systems such as Windows on Linux. Windows XP works fine in this, but Windows 7 fails to recognise the sound card. According to the documentation, the soundcard is a Ensoniq AudioPCI ES1370. Does anyone know where I can find a driver for this, or a compatible driver that will run under 7. I've not tried this in Vista as yet.

  Because Nginx requires the geoip_ directives to go into the main http{ } block of the nginx.conf file, does that mean the geoip data is being pulled for every single request? In other words, does EngineX look up the geoip data for ALL of the requests coming in, even for those not needing the data? Also, nginx's documentation page lists "geoip_country" as a valid variable but if I use it, EngineX throws the following error: [emerg]: unknown "geoip_country" variable

  I am compiling quite big project from source. The compilation always ends with: error: invalid conversion from ‘const char*’ to ‘char*’ [-fpermissive] I have already compiled this project one year ago. So I know a solution to this. Actualy I found more solutions: Adding a typecast to appropriate line of cpp code (It went to endless number of changes in each file. So I found next solution.) Modifying a makefile to compile that file with -fpermissive option. (I had to modify a lot of lines in each makefile. So I find even better solution.) "g++" or "gcc" was stored in a variable so I added -fpermissive to these variables. This is the best solution I have. It is sufficient to add this option to each makefile once. Unfortunately this software has big number of subdirectories. So I need to modify more than 100 makefiles. It took me whole day one year ago. Is there a way how to do this faster. What about this? alias gcc='gcc -fpermissive' I am not familiar with aliases. But it should be easy to try this. Is the syntax correct? And is this one correct? alias g++='g++ -fpermissive' ? And do I need to export the alias somehow? Will the make program respect the alias? Should I maybe change ./configure script? Or the ./configure.in? Or other file?

• First Request to IIS Express Fails with 503 Service Unavailable, Second Succeeds

  Each time I start my ASP.Net MVC 3 app from Visual Studio 2010, IIS Express launches and IE spins waiting. The request fails with HTTP 503 Service Unavailable. I hit Refresh in IE, and the request succeeds. All subsequent requests succeed until I stop debugging. The next time I go to start debugging, the first request fails again. Has anyone else experienced this? In IISExpress\applicationhost.config I have: <site name="ProjectName" id="6"> <application path="/" applicationPool="Clr4IntegratedAppPool"> <virtualDirectory path="/" physicalPath="c:\users\chris\dropbox\code\2010\SolutionName\ProjectName" /> </application> <bindings> <binding protocol="http" bindingInformation="*:80:laptop" /> </bindings> </site> I have this in my hosts file: 127.0.0.1 laptop And my Project is set to start with IIS Express, with Project Url set to: http://laptop It's very strange that only the first request fails, perhaps as though Visual Studio isn't waiting long enough for IIS Express to start? Is there some way to make it wait? Stopping debugging, making a change, and then starting again is one of the most common tasks I do so adding another step to get there is pretty annoying.

• Can PPP CHAP authentication use Cisco "Type 5" MD5 passwords?

  Looking over Cisco's documentation, and RFC 1994 (PPP CHAP authentication), my initial guess is "no", because CHAP requires a cleartext password to rehash every time it sends a challenge. Is this true? If so, is there another way to configure CHAP so it doesn't use the easily-decoded type 7 passwords? The Cisco device in question uses local authentication, not a TACACS+ or RADIUS server. Would using RADIUS eliminate the problem or just move it to the RADIUS server?

• How do I set the title of Terminal.app with the fish shell?

  I'm trying the fish shell in Mac OS X, intalled using MacPorts. I'd like to have the title of my Terminal window be my current directory. Currently, the title just says Terminal - fish - 80x24 According to the fish documentation, the default fish_title function should provide this behavior. It doesn't do the right thing in Terminal.app, although it does work with iTerm. Defining my own fish_title function doesn't fix the problem. Has anybody been able to get this to work?

• Check for updates of a specific Debian package list

  The setup I run a Debian Squeeze host that I use to build a multilanguage project (python, java, php...) and generate custom packages (debian and RPM) automatically (through jenkins) The problem The target distributions of those Debian packages are Etch, Lenny and Squeeze. But our project has some native dependencies that are available only through the DebianRelease + 1 repository (i.e Lenny + 1 == Squeeze, Squeeze + 1 == Wheezy). We for example, need the jetty packages from Squeeze in Lenny, and the cyrus-imapd-2.4 packages from Wheezy in Squeeze. Some additional info : Some package we can simply 'backport by hand' by mirroring the DebianRelease + 1 packages to our own repositories. For instance, the jetty package from Squeeze will run fine on Lenny because it doesn't need an s**tload of additional dependencies However we do need to rebuild some packages. For instance, cyrus-imapd-2.4 from Wheezy has a lot of unsatisfied dependencies on Squeeze. So we need to rebuild it in Squeeze and then upload it to our repo. The question I need to have a simple way of knowing if they are any updates on those extra packages (both "normal" and "security" updates). I could write a simple script that runs weekly, get some parameters from a file, and generate an update report. Let's say the file looks like this: jetty:squeeze cyrus-imapd-2.4:wheezy The script should run as normal user not to mess up the system apt configuration and issue the appropriate commands to generate that report. Does Debian has some built-in apt-* commands/options dedicated to that kind of problem I could use to write this script ? If not, can someone think of another clean solution to achieve what I need ?

• Indesign Import XML into Automatic Page generation, data merge

  I've created some InDesign Pages that I want to use as templates. I've created an XML file with all the appropriate data. I want to merge the XML data with the InDesign page and have a few hundred pages automatically generated. I've been reading online and working with InDesign's "Import XML" features without any luck. The documentation has been pretty poor for me. And Google searches haven't returned much fruitful. Here are my present steps: I create a Master Page of my template I add a bunch of text frames where I want the imported data from the XML file to be places I open the "Tags" window and Import and XML file I mark my text frames in the Master Document with the appropriate tags I then add a lot of pages (like 200) to the document Then I use "Import XML" to try and get the data brought in and filled across all 200 pages. This is where I fail. There's something I'm missing. It might be that InDesign doesn't work as I'm expecting... Does anyone have any good tips for mail-merge like functionality with an XML document and auto-generation of InDesign pages? By the way, here's an example of Adobe's great documentation for merging repeated XML elements. There's got to be more...   Hi there, I'm looking to build 4x Maya render slaves/nodes for a friend of mine when his project gets green lit. The project involves MentalRay and lots of glass. I'm unsure if the new i7's 9xx or 8xx with hyper threading will do any better than a core 2 quad of the same (or close enough) speed. Does hyper threading make a difference to Maya or is it more performance per core based? I'm sure he's prefer I'd build another render node than pay for a bleeding edge CPU that only adds fractionly more GHz. -- The rest of the spec so far: 4Gb - 8Gb ram 64 bit OS: Probably Windows 7 (I know Linux is free, but want to build something my friend can support himself as easily as he supports his own workstation) 1TB HDD to hold textures, Maya files and renders which will be copied to central storage later Mobo with on-board video, gigabit NIC 500 - 650 watt PSU Desktop case something like a: Cooler Master ATCS 840 The machines will sold afterwards if necessary. -- If anyone has had experience in Maya and has done any tests with the new CPUs vs. the older ones I'd really appreciate your input.

• Cannot open files in Visual Studio but in Delphi and Notepad

  About an hour ago Visual Studio 2008 decided that it cannot find files any more. This is on 64 bit Windows Vista. When I right-click on a text file (source code or otherwise) and select "open with" and "Visual Studio 2008", I get the following error (example): Windows cannot find 'C:\Users\ajbrehm\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\Hello Prism\Hello Prism\Main.pas'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. When I right-click the same file and select "open with" and "Delphi 2010" or "Notepad" (both other options available for text files on my system), the file opens correctly. Oddly enough when the file is part of a Visual Studio project and I open the project itself with Visual Studio (this works), I can open the file from within Visual Studio. Any ideas what might be going on? This started about an hour after I made a complete backup of my Vista VM and after I installed IIS 7, SQL Express, and Sourcegear Vault. The first files I noticed couldn't be opened in Visual Studio any more where Pascal source files in checked-outed folders from Vault. And Vault also seems to be unable to see one of the sources files and claims they don't exist. I found out about Visual Studio not opening ANY files any more when I tried to recreate the file Vault refused to see. Update: I just checked. Another user, "administrator", can still open text files with Visual Studio 2008. Both users have administrator rights. Update: I just restored the hours-old backup. Same problem. Apparently whatever triggered this happened before the install of IIS 7 and SQL Express. Never noticed it before.

It apparently supports ssh administration and I get a password prompt when attempting to ssh [email protected] but no passwords I try work and theres no documentation for it.   We have purchased a Dell Optiplex 9010 SSFV for our organization's work. Since the first installation two of the USB keyboard keys were not working properly. I had to press those keys two times simultaneously, on first time keys did not work and for for second time it printed two characters (as it were buffering first character.) Two keys that were not working properly: Hexangrave (Below the ESC key: `) Double Quotes (Left the enter key ") We registered our complaint with DELL and they suggested (with some hard to understand and weird ENGLISH accent) some test and tricks, such as switching to different ports, checking keyboard on different PC, and it worked well with diff. PC(with Windows 7 Home Premium installed). It was clear that it is an OS fault, hence they suggested to re-install OS. Problem began here, we have a project on the run and currently a video editing project setup on our system, so can't re-install system in hurry and also DELL persons were not providing any other solution such as updating keyboard driver, etc. Arguments I am a Software Engg. and don't think it is a feasible solution to re-install entire system for simple problems. This prob is coming since the fresh system installation, so I don't think it will solve the problem. Finally, I had to find solution myself and got it here, now I want to show my disappointment to dell persons or at least tell them that they should improve there support system to not advice to re-install entire system for that simple problems. Notes We have purchased 5 years NEXT business day support from DELL for around 8000 INR (Not for that kind of solutions from DELL). It is Dell India Support System. So can anyone tell me how to tackle dell support system officially, so that they will pay more attention in near future. Thanks
