• Three ways to upload/post/convert iMovie to YouTube

You are also allowed to copy the URL from Tell a Friend window and paste it into an email you created in your favourite email application if you like. Anyone you send to email to will be able to follow the URL directly to your movie. Note: Videos uploaded to YouTube are limited to ten minutes in length and a file size of 2GB. Solution 3: Upload to iMovie after conversion If neither of the above mentioned method works, there is still a third way to turn to.   I have a folder/array of images, it may be 1, maximum of 12. What I need to do is dynamically add them so the images are added to an images table. "*.jpg"); for ( $i= 0; $i <= count($images); $i += 1) { mysql_query("INSERT INTO project_images (image_name, project_id)VALUES ('$images[0]', '$id')") or die(mysql_error()); } this is fine but it does not feel right, how is this for performance?   Hi, I need to send a file to MobileMe via Cocoa. I stumbled across a .Mac framework from Apple but it hasn't been updated in years, so I don't want to use it due to possible compatibility problems it may cause. I think that the MobileMe.framework is private, so I don't think I can use it. What kind of alternatives are there available for me so that I can upload the file to MobileMe? I've also been looking into WebDav frameworks (since MobileMe is WebDav based), but I didn't find anything useful either. Thanks!

  I trying to retrieve some json to pass into a flot graph. I know that json is right because I hard coded it to check, but I'm pretty sure that I'm not passing right because It's not showing up. • Zend Framework: Undefined class constant 'MYSQL_ATTR_INIT_COMMAND'

  As you may have known that I switched from ubuntu to windows from my previous questions. I was working on Zend Framework on ubuntu and now working on same project in windows. Because of this switching I facing some problems in windows which was not occurred in ubuntu. • use of EntityManagerFactory causing duplicate primary key exceptions

  Hey guys, my goal is create an EntityManager using properties dependent on which database is in use. I've seen something like this done in all my Google searches(I made the code more basic for the purpose of this question): @PersistenceUnit private EntityManagerFactory emf; private EntityManager em; private Properties props; @PostConstruct public void createEntityManager(){ //if oracle set oracle properties else set postgres properties emf = Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory("app-x"); em = emf.createEntityManager(props); } This works and I can load Oracle or Postgres properties successfully and I can Select from either database. HOWEVER, I am running into issues when doing INSERT statements. Whenever an INSERT is done I get a duplicate primary key exception.. every time!   Hi, I animate NSImageViews using its animator proxy. While testing my application on Snow Leopard, everything works as expected. However, on Leopard, none of the animations are functioning. In addition, NSImageViews don't seem to take into effect the alphaValue I set on them, whether through the animator proxy or not. The only way I can get them to disappear is by setting their image to nil. What is weird is that this all works fine in Snow Leopard, but does not work on Leopard 10.5.8. Any idea on why this may be occurring?

• How to determine MS Access field size via OleDb

  The existing application is in C#. During startup the application calls a virtual method to make changes to the database (for example a new revision may need to calculate a new field or something). An open OleDb connection is passed into the method. I need to change a field width. The ALTER TABLE statement is working fine. But I would like to avoid executing the ALTER TABLE statement if the field is already the appropriate size. Is there a way to determine the size of an MS Access field using the same OleDb connection?

• How do I change my iPhone App binary filename

  I get the following error when I try to upload the application on iTunes Connect: "Binary file names cannot contain a space. Please rename your binary file and try again." If I try to Validate the Application in XCode, I get: "My Application.ipa: filename may not contain whitespace" So I guess I have to find a way to rename this .ipa file. I don't want to change my product name which has to stay "My Application". How can I do that? Thanks!

  I'm looking for some best practice advice on enumerations and retrieving an associated string value. Given this: public enum SerialKillers { TedBundy, EdGein, AlbertFish, GeorgeBush } What is the best way to get a related string value of the name? Eg. "Ted Bundy", given that the string value may not match the representation in the enumeration. eg "George W Bush" My current thinking is function accepting an enum and returning a string, but would that not mean hard coding the string values (which I prefer not to do)? Is using a resources file where the string can be retrieved via the enumeration too heavy handed? Should I accept the fact I am going to Hell for victimising Ted Bundy by associating him with George Bush?

Anyone know which it is? (For the record, I'm running SL 4.0 on VS 2010 RC, which may be contributing to the problem).

  I had a pretty simple requirement in my Scheme program to execute more than one statement, in the true condition of a 'if'. . So I write my code, something like this: (if (= 1 1) ((expression1) (expression2)) ; these 2 expressions are to be executed when the condition is true (expression3) ) Obviously, the above doesn't work, since I have unintentionally created a # procedure with # arguments. So, to get my work done, I simply put the above expressions in a new function and call it from there, in place of the expression1, expression2. It works. So, my point here is: is there any other conditional construct which may support my requirement here?

  I'm coding a board game where there is a bag of possible pieces. Each turn, players remove randomly selected pieces from the bag according to certain rules. For my implementation, it may be easier to divide up the bag initially into pools for one or more players. These pools would be randomly selected, but now different players would be picking from different bags. Is this any different? If one player's bag ran out, more would be randomly shuffled into it from the general stockpile.

• Handling two WebException's properly

  Hi Everyone, I am trying to handle two different WebException's properly. Basically they are handled after calling WebClient.DownloadFile(string address, string fileName) AFAIK, so far there are two I have to handle, both WebException's: The remote name could not be resolved (i.e. No network connectivity to access server to download file) (404) File not nound (i.e. the file doesn't exist on the server) There may be more but this is what I've found most important so far. So how should I handle this properly, as they are both WebException's but I want to handle each case above differently. This is what I have so far: try { using (var client = new WebClient()) { client.DownloadFile("..."); } } catch(InvalidOperationException ioEx) { if (ioEx is WebException) { if (ioEx.Message.Contains("404") { //handle 404 } if (ioEx.Message.Contains("remote name could not") { //handle file doesn't exist } } } As you can see I am checking the message to see what type of WebException it is. • Multi page forms on ASP.NET MVC

  Hi, I have decided to use ASP.NET MVC to develop multi page (registration) forms in asp.net. There will be two buttons on each page that allows the user to navigate to the previous and next page. When the user navigates back to a page they recently filled out, the data should be displayed to them. I understand ASP.NET MVC should remain stateless but how should I maintain page information when the user navigates back and forth. Should I? Save the information to a database and retrieve information for each page change? save information to the session? Load all the fields and display only whats's needed with javascript? This registration form is going to be used in multiple sites but with different sets of questions (Some may be the same). IF performance is a main concern, should I avoid generating these forms dynamically? Jay

• What's viewport mean to the jQuery guys?

  I came here intent on asking a 'how do i' type question focused on a particular UI problem i have to solve and i started using the term 'viewport'. Seems there's lots of contexts that tag evokes. Before i outline mine i should ask - is there a generally recognized consensus as to what a 'viewport' is? Any gallery or object browser that focuses on a UI principle where multiple frames/panes show feeds of different graphs where each feed might be a complex grid/graph? I'm imagining something where my page may open with a half dozen different grids (tabular data) stay updated via ajax interactions with various servers. UI elements provide control scale up or down a given grid with a quasi accordion slide kinda thingie. For example, one click on a scale up-or-down control would rescale the other viewports in the opposite direction. More clicks - more pronounced effect. So my 'how do i' question morphs into a 'how have others...' thx

  Hi All, i am new to the web development environment, having came from a unix/c environment. i've been recently asked to create a web app, which i thought would require postgresql, java/j2ee, and javascript for the client interface. as i had wanted a nicer gui, i've been reading up on extjs, which looks really nice to me. a colleague mentioned that the time needed time needed to learn all these various pieces is time consuming, and Jdeveloper seems to provide most of what we'd need (i was shown a demo, which appears to be able to generate some nice web interfaces). what are the pros and cons with the different approaches ? some i can think of: - jdeveloper is an integrated ide, which creates UI easily, tightly integrated with database. (pro) - jdeveloper will be heavier? (con) - wizard generated code may be harder to refactor ? • JQuery UI sortable is slow in IE8, but works good in IE7 and IE8 compatible mode

  JQuery UI sortable (including demos) are slow in all IE8 I can test, but runs smoothly in IE7 and IE8 compatible mode. The more complex is a markup on the page, the more IE8 is slowing down (that's I can understand, the DOM tree became more complex). I'm using JQuery 1.3.2 and JQuery UI 1.7.2 (tested with 1.7.3 -- the same story). I've found a lot of similar reports (for the new JQuery UI 1.8.x with JQuery 1.4 too), but no answers. May be there is a some solution (EXCEPT turning IE8 into IE7 compatibility mode by metatag or header). Thanks in advance!

  Hi All, All the time we are hearing that java is enterprise. We have read many books about jpa, entity beans and other stuff. All this books explain this technology with some dummy examples. I have not seen a book that explains real problems with enterprise beans, java clients and security! I mean real book not some imaginated stupid examples . Is there any book that describes completely some enterprise system, Its architecture, communication, security, of course the client that uses the distributed components ? I need a book that will cover the flowing: server side components (ejb, jpa) client side java desktop application security (authentication and authorization) web services with complete authentication clustering (we can find for all of this a book, but there is no book that covers all this things in one piece. • Python string formatting when string contains "%s" without escaping

  When formatting a string, my string may contain a modulo "%" that I do not wish to have converted. I can escape the string and change each "%" to "%%" as a workaround. e.g., 'Day old bread, 50%% sale %s' % 'today!' output: 'Day old bread, 50% sale today' But are there any alternatives to escaping? I was hoping that using a dict would make it so Python would ignore any non-keyword conversions. e.g., 'Day old bread, 50% sale %(when)s' % {'when': 'today'} but Python still sees the first modulo % and gives a: TypeError: not enough arguments for format string

• Can RaphaelJS be object aware?

  In the course of trying to figure out whether it's possible to contain text within the boundaries of a rectangle using RaphaelJS (and without doing what would seem to be a lot of work), I came across this question (and its answer) which intrigued me. I haven't seen--either before or since reading the answer--any indication that Raphael can do anything like this. My sense, therefore, is that it's a glib answer, but the concept is compelling and I'm just breaking into some Raphael work, so I thought it was worth shining the spotlight on that answer and asking for any clarification someone may be able to give. • Trouble using Loader, can't access properties of loaded swf

  May not have asked question correctly so I’m asking again. I’m using Flash AS3 with code in actions layer. Main movieclip onstage is : design_mc. Within it is a movieclip already in place onstage with an instance name clipart_mc. Now I’m also loading a ListBox to the stage and each time a selection is made from listbox myLoader9 is used to load selected .swf into design_mc.clipArt_mc. Now within each of the .swf files loaded into design_mc.clipArt_mc there is a mc I’d like to color transform called color_mc. So now the listbox is onstage and I make a selection that places heart.swf inside of design_mc.clipArt_mc. I want to access heart.swf so I did this: var child:DisplayObject = myLoader9.content.contentLoaderInfo.content.color_mc; var colorTrans3:ColorTransform = new ColorTransform(); var trans3:Transform = new Transform(child); I still can not get to heart.swf. I find a way: take all the unseen mails for the curent day(ex:9 may 2010), loop it and for then checking if it was send in the last X minutes echo it( using the imap_headerinfo-udate )BUT when i looked at gmail.com one email was recevied at 17:08 and on my server appears that the email was received at 14:08 Dan
