• File upload with tdo-miniforms not working

  I am using the TDO-miniforms plugin for wordpress. I have a form set up that lets the user submit files. The files are successfully uploaded to the tmp-folder, but once the post is created they are not copied into the allocated post folder. The only thing that is created in the folder with a post id is a file called array. It seems like the file holds the binary data of the uploaded files. The “correct” urls are appended to the post content I am running wordpress 2.9.2 on snow leopard using Mamp.

• Vim's autocomplete is excruciatingly slow

  Most of the time the autocomplete feature in VIM works nicely for me, but sometimes it seems to be scanning files which the current file references, and then it becomes painfully slow, sometimes taking several seconds to release focus back to me. Sometimes VIM tells me simply that it is "Scanning" other times, it's saying "Scanning tags" I've only this happen in Ruby files, and it happens mostly when there is a require in the file. My guess would be that this is some kind of feature which checks related files for autocomplete options, but I don't really need that, and would prefer quicker autocomplete.

  Does anyone know of a good tool for refactoring resources in a visual studio 2008 solution? We have a number of resource files with translated text in an assembly used for localizing our application. But they have gotten a bit messy... I would like to rename some of the keys, and move some of them into other resource files. And I would like those changes be done in my code, and the translated versions of the resource files as well. Maybe a some analysis on what strings are missing in the translated versions, and what strings have been removed from the original as well... Does anyone know of a good visual studio extension or ReSharper plugin that can help me with this? Right now it is kind of a pain, because I have to first rename the key in the base resource file, then in the localized versions. And then compile to get all the compile errors resulting from the key which now have a different name, and then go through and fix them all... very annoying =/

  I know that linux is mostly safe from viruses, however: if you do download a windows virus (i.e., through a drive-by download), will it just sit there on your computer, and take up space? Is it unable to infect files because of the different operating system? If you transfer files between computers (by using a usb flash drive or through online file sharing), is there any risk that the virus could be transferred to windows and activate?

  Hi, I have two large source trees. One of them has some out of date image files. I would like to automatically update all the old image files (png, jpg, gif) in one source tree with the up to date image files in the other source tree. I am using Windows 7 but I have Cygwin installed. I have tried using rsync so far but with no success. I was hoping I could do something like: rsync -r *.png newSourceTree oldSourceTree Any help would be much appreciated.

• C# Possible to partial class "program" class for a console application?

  I was wondering if its possible to change the default "program" class that gets created for any console application to a partial class. I want to do this because I want better organisation rather than have all methods in 1 file categorized by region. It would make more sense for me to have certain method categories sitting in separate files. My understanding of a partial class is that it is a class definition in multiple files that during a compile merges the class files into 1 class unit. I could be wrong, or there could be a better way for me to achieve better organisational structure. Any suggestions would help, and thanks

  Following this guide: http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/tutorial/install-mongodb-on-ubuntu/ I ended up with mongodb 18 on my Ubuntu 10.04. I've just read the 2.2 mongodb release notes on upgrading and it says to just replace the binary. Would that be /usr/lib/mongodb/mongod ? It looks like the 2.2 tar has several files I might need to copy over: mongo, mongod, mongoexport, mongodump, mongofiles, mongoimport, mongorestore, mongos, xulwrapper Can I just copy and paste all of those over to replace the old versions of those files?

  Title says it all, hope this is possible as I want to start a network of sites for different stuff but want to use one account system with that subdomain using ssl with extended verification, thanks. EDIT: Ok, it has been closed because I am not being clear enough so I will narrow it down a bit more. I am wondering how to move all registration files and login files into a sub-domain instead of just the normal domain so I can put an SSL on it to make it more secure but leave the rest of the blog on the normal domain.

• What code commenting style should I use for both C++ and C# ?

  Hi, I was recently hired in a company. They have a lot of C++ and C# code source files and almost one different commenting style per file. (Well this is exagerated, but you have the picture) This morning, I show my new collegues how my personnal code was commented and how easy it was to generate a documentation from it (I use Doxygen). I somehow convinced them to use a coherent commenting style. I would suggest using Doxygen for C++ source files and native C# style commenting style for C# files. However, I'm not sure that's the best solution here. Are you aware of a commenting style that would work for both C++ and C# allowing us to generate a documentation from it ? If so, what software/tool should we use ? Having a solution that would work on Linux platforms as well would be even better. Thank you very much.

  I am making a grease-monkey plugin for a website that has many flash files. I'd like to make a hash of the flash, the problem is that the flash files are up to 10(total) * 10MEGS. This is slow; I'd like to be able to only grab the first 80KB to hash. The end result would be an easy way to blacklist certain flash files containing unwanted content. Is this possible? Suggestions? Code examples are greatly appreciated!

• WiX 3 Tutorial: Custom EULA License and MSI localization

  In this part of the ongoing Wix tutorial series we’ll take a look at how to localize your MSI into different languages. We’re still the mighty SuperForm: Program that takes care of all your label color needs. :) Localizing the MSI With WiX 3.0 localizing an MSI is pretty much a simple and straightforward process. First let look at the WiX project Properties->Build. There you can see "Cultures to build" textbox. Put specific cultures to build into the testbox or leave it empty to build all of them. Cultures have to be in correct culture format like en-US, en-GB or de-DE. Next we have to tell WiX which cultures we actually have in our project. Take a look at the first post in the series about Solution/Project structure and look at the Lang directory in the project structure picture. There we have de-de and en-us subfolders each with its own localized stuff. In the subfolders pay attention to the WXL files Loc_de-de.wxl and Loc_en-us.wxl. Each one has a <String Id="LANG"> under the WixLocalization root node. By including the string with id LANG we tell WiX we want that culture built. For English we have <String Id="LANG">1033</String>, for German <String Id="LANG">1031</String> in Loc_de-de.wxl and for French we’d have to create another file Loc_fr-FR.wxl and put <String Id="LANG">1036</String>. WXL files are localization files. Any string we want to localize we have to put in there. To reference it we use loc keyword like this: !(loc.IdOfTheVariable) => !(loc.MustCloseSuperForm) This is our Loc_en-us.wxl. ProductKeyCheckDialog* strings are to localize a custom dialog for Product key check which we’ll look at in the next post. Built in dialog text localization Under the de-de folder there’s also the WixUI_de-de.wxl file. This files contains German translations of all texts that are in WiX built in dialogs. It can be downloaded from WiX 3.0.5419.0 Source Forge site. Download the wix3-sources.zip and go to \src\ext\UIExtension\wixlib. There you’ll find already translated all WiX texts in 12 Languages. Localizing the custom EULA license Here it gets ugly. We can override the default EULA license easily by overriding WixUILicenseRtf WiX variable like this: <WixVariable Id="WixUILicenseRtf" Value="License.rtf" /> where License.rtf is the name of your custom EULA license file. The downside of this method is that you can only have one license file which means no localization for it. That’s why we need to make a workaround. License is checked on a dialog name LicenseAgreementDialog. What we have to do is overwrite that dialog and insert the functionality for localization. This is a code for LicenseAgreementDialogOverwritten.wxs, an overwritten LicenseAgreementDialog that supports localization. Scroll up and take a look at the wxl localization file example. We have the LicenseRtf declared there and it’s been made overridable so developers can change it if they want. The value of the LicenseRtf is the path to our localized EULA relative to the WiX project directory. With little hacking we’ve achieved a fully localizable installer package.   The final step is to insert the extended LicenseAgreementDialogOverwritten license dialog into the installer GUI chain.   I have an artist working on 2D graphics for a game UI. He has no problem producing a screenshot showing all the bits, but we're having some trouble exporting this all into an easy-to-use format. For example, take the game HUD, which is a bunch of elements laid out around the screen. He exports the individual graphics for each one, but how should he communicate the positioning of each of them? My desire is to have a yaml file (or some other simple markup file) that contains the name of each asset and pixel position of that element. For example: fire_icon: pos: 20, 30 fire_bar: pos: 30, 80 Is producing such files a common task of a graphic artist? Is is reasonable to request them to produce such files as part of their graphic work?

• SSH error: "Corrupted MAC on input" or "Bad packet length"

  I have 3 boxes set up as shown: The DFW box can communicate to the SFO / internet just fine, and I send files AUS - DFW. However, every time I trying transferring DFW - AUS it fails over SSH (ssh client, rsync, scp, sftp, etc) with the following error: Corrupted MAC on input. Disconnecting: Packet corrupt Occasionally I'll get a different error: Bad packet length 2097180. Disconnecting: Packet corrupt I've restarted the DFW box, as well as replaced the network cable. I'm not sure what else might be causing problems. Right now to get files from DFW I have to use DFW - SFO - AUS which is not optimal.
