  I use jquery blockUI plugin (v2) and call $.blockUI when user submits a form. Web page smoothly fades out and new page appears. That's ok. But when user presses "back" button in opera/fire fox he observes fade out page with hourglass mouse cursor that is completely blocked. Chrome/IE visualize page ok. What would you suggest?   I have an ASP.NET website where i have implemented page level caching using the OutPutCache directive.This boosted the page performance.My pages has few parts(Some buttons,links and labels) which are specific to the logged in user.If user is not logged in,they will see different links.Now Since i implemented the page level caching,Even after the user logged in,It's showing the old page content(Links and buttons meant for the Non logged in User). Caching is obviously good.But how to get rid of this problem ? Do i need to completely remove caching ?

I have a blank page in the sharepoint, and I have a custom control uploaded to the site, on adding the webpart the the sharepoint page I get the following error: "Attempted to use an object that has ceased to exist. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80030102 (STG_E_REVERTED))" I get that error even if the sharepoint page is totally blank and so is the web part.

  Answer I need help with is: Recall that paging is implemented by breaking up an address into a page and offset number. It is most efficient to break the address into X page bits and Y offset bits, rather than perform arithmetic on the address to calculate the page number and offset. Because each bit position represents a power of 2, splitting an address between bits results in a page size that is a power of 2. i don't quite understand this answer, can anyone give a simpler explanation?

  I heavily rely on Opera's speed dial and password management features. Lack of these two features is really stopping me from switching to another web browser such as Chrome or Firefox. Opera's password management has two unique characteristics which I rely on heavily: It saves passwords on all pages, (apparently) despite the page's meta data asking not to save passwords. It offers keyboard shortcut and button to automatically fill in username/passwords and all other fields in a login form, then automatically submit the form. (So I'm only one key/click away from logging into a website) How can I get those functions in other browsers? Thank you! Edit: Reason being that I use other web browsers at work and I wish they could have those functions.

  Hi, I'm using my mobile phone to connect to the internet in an area where only GPRS/EDGE is available. To increase the connection speed I would like to use a technique called connection teaming. E.g. I would use two mobile phones / usb sticks to go online with different providers at the same time and let the software distribute requests over both connections. My questions are: is there a software available to do connection teaming?   I have several sites in a class C network that all get crawled by google on a pretty regular basis. Normally this is fine. However, when google starts crawling all the sites at the same time, the small set of servers that back this IP block can take a pretty big hit on load. With google webmaster tools, you can rate limit the googlebot on a given domain, but I haven't found a way to limit the bot across an IP network yet. Anyone have experience with this? How did you fix it?

• Power supply issue? New Radeon5850's fan runs at full speed and PC doesn't boot.

  I recently bought a new ASUS EAH5850 graphics board. I installed it a custom PC which had an ASUS p5n-e SLI mobo along with a 500w Thermaltake W0093RU power supply. Sometimes when doing a cold boot the 5850's fan will run at full speed and the PC will not boot. Powering off by holding down the power button and powering back on sometimes remedies the situation and everything boots normally. Warm reboots also never seem to have problems. For some reason though cold boots almost always do. Another issue I notice is that when the PC does boot normally it takes longer (+30 secs) to POST than with my last video card. I flashed the mobo with the latest available BIOS but it had no effect. Is my problem a power issue or incompatible motherboard or something else I'm missing?

When writing to an NFS mount of the NAS, rsync claims a very high transfer speed for each file and then waits a long time before acknowledging that everything has finished. The total time taken is consistent with the QoS limit and the time taken by the same transfer over FTP. Why does the write to the NFS mount report higher transfer speeds than are actually happening over the network? How can I monitor the actual bandwidth of the transfer?

  Do I need a Gigabit port capable wireless router with a 24MB/s down and 7MB/s upload speed cable modem? Does anyone know how to calculate this? FYI, I wont be using the wireless connection from my main computer system. My computer will connect via a hard wire into the router (of the wireless variety), which in turn is connected to the cable modem. My research suggests that the 100 MB/s port can easily handle it. Is that true?
