  • WPF Databinding thread safety?

    - by Petoj
Well lets say i have an object that i databind to, it implements INotifyPropertyChanged to tell the GUI when a value has changed... if i trigger this from a different thread than the GUI thread how would wpf behave? and will it make sure that it gets the value of the property from memory and not the cpu cache? more or less im asking if wpf does lock() on the object containing the property...

  • SSRS 2005 giving me "Invalid URI: The format of the URI could not be determined" when trying to cust

    - by Brian
Hello, I'm getting the error "Invalid URI: The format of the URI could not be determined" when customizing it. I've made several changes to the configuration files and UI, but I keep getting this error. It isn't logging it too in the event log nor the log files, which makes it very annoying to debug. So how do I figure out where the error is coming from? Is it with the URL that's pointing to the ReportServer2005.asmx file, or something else? • How to debug nondeterministic access violation crash?

    - by Special Touch
Our C#/COM/C++ application is crashing and I need help debugging it. Running with gflags enabled and WinDbg attached, we determined the crashes are caused by an access violation, but we haven't been able to narrow it down any more than that. We are not seeing the issue on all machines; there are a couple of machines that seem to reproduce the issue frequently but not deterministically. We have observed the application crash from simply switching away from the application (say, Alt-Tab) and then back. Output from WinDbg is below. We have been trying to systematically comment out areas of code that could be causing the problem, but we haven't had much success yet. Any suggestions on what debugging steps or tools we should try? !analyze -v EXCEPTION_RECORD: ffffffff -- (.exr 0xffffffffffffffff) ExceptionAddress: 1a584ff2 (+0x1a584ff1) ExceptionCode: c0000005 (Access violation) ExceptionFlags: 00000000 NumberParameters: 2 Parameter[0]: 00000000 Parameter[1]: 1a584ff2 Attempt to read from address 1a584ff2 PROCESS_NAME: ProcessFiles.exe ERROR_CODE: (NTSTATUS) 0xc0000005 - The instruction at 0x%08lx referenced memory at 0x%08lx. • sIFR problem in IE document.defaultView.getComputedStyle

    - by Jai Ivarsson
I have sIFR 3 r436 working perfectly in all browsers except IE. IE throws 2 errors. The first is: 'document.defaultView.getComputedStyle' is null of not an object This is on the sifr.js file The second is: 'sIFR' is null or not an object This one is happening I think due to the fact that the sifr.js script is failing in it's load. Has anyone had anything like this before? Thanks, Jai

  • Recommend a good db4o viewer

    - by mgroves
I'm playing around with db4o, and I have the Object Manager viewer thingy for Visual Studio. It seems okay, but not exactly on par with tools like HeidiSQL/SQL Studio/etc., not to mention that it locks the db4o file--I can't use my db4o app and Object Manager at the same time. Maybe I'm using it wrong, but regardless, I'd like to know what else is out there. What tools would you recommend for looking at and manipulating db4o files?

  • Strange crashes when using MPMoviePlayerController in iPad and iPad simulator with iOS 4.2.

    - by Dave L
    I'm getting crashes when trying to play a movie using MPMoviePlayerController on the iPad and in the iPad simulator using iOS 4.2. I am building using xcode 3.2.5 and the 4.2 SDK. When running on an iPad using iOS 3.2 or in the iPad simulator 3.2, the same code works fine, but on an iPad running 4.2 or in the iPad simulator 4.2, it crashes. The crash is due to an exception for calling an unknown selector down somewhere deep in the cocoa libraries, something tries to call a selector called "setHitRectInsets:" on a UIButton object. Also, the crash happens after control has returned to the main event loop. Anybody have any idea what might be causing this? Here is the code (roughly, some extraneous stuff deleted that doesn't seem to have any effect) that is crashing: NSString *fullMovieFilename = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"movie" ofType:@"m4v"]; NSURL *movieURL = [NSURL fileURLWithPath:fullMovieFilename]; moviePlayer = [[MPMoviePlayerController alloc] initWithContentURL:movieURL]; moviePlayer.controlStyle = MPMovieControlStyleNone; // crash happens regardless of the setting here [moviePlayer.view setFrame:self.view.bounds]; [self.view addSubview:moviePlayer.view]; [moviePlayer setFullscreen:YES animated:YES]; // crash happens whether i use fullscreen or not [moviePlayer play]; The same code also works just find if I build using Xcode 3.2.3 and the 4.0 SDK. The crash stack trace looks like this: 2011-03-04 23:08:22.017 MyApp[31610:207] -[UIButton setHitRectInsets:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x990bc60 2011-03-04 23:08:22.020 MyApp[31610:207] *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '-[UIButton setHitRectInsets:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x990bc60' *** Call stack at first throw: ( 0 CoreFoundation 0x0151abe9 __exceptionPreprocess + 185 1 libobjc.A.dylib 0x0166f5c2 objc_exception_throw + 47 2 CoreFoundation 0x0151c6fb -[NSObject(NSObject) doesNotRecognizeSelector:] + 187 3 CoreFoundation 0x0148c366 ___forwarding___ + 966 4 CoreFoundation 0x0148bf22 _CF_forwarding_prep_0 + 50 5 MediaPlayer 0x011b5bdb -[MPTransportControls createButtonForPart:] + 380 6 MediaPlayer 0x011b65d5 -[MPTransportControls _updateAdditions:removals:forPart:] + 110 7 MediaPlayer 0x011b4d78 -[MPTransportControls _reloadViewWithAnimation:] + 299 8 MediaPlayer 0x011b621a -[MPTransportControls setVisibleParts:] + 49 9 MediaPlayer 0x011b6e4a -[MPTransportControls initWithFrame:] + 173 10 MediaPlayer 0x011f9188 -[MPInlineTransportControls initWithFrame:] + 78 11 MediaPlayer 0x011f193a -[MPInlineVideoOverlay layoutSubviews] + 158 12 QuartzCore 0x00d6e451 -[CALayer layoutSublayers] + 181 13 QuartzCore 0x00d6e17c CALayerLayoutIfNeeded + 220 14 QuartzCore 0x00d6e088 -[CALayer layoutIfNeeded] + 111 15 MediaPlayer 0x011f130c -[MPInlineVideoOverlay setAllowsWirelessPlayback:] + 46 16 MediaPlayer 0x011f5b0d -[MPInlineVideoViewController _overlayView] + 526 17 MediaPlayer 0x011f6359 -[MPInlineVideoViewController _layoutForItemTypeAvailable] + 1350 18 Foundation 0x000e56c1 _nsnote_callback + 145 19 CoreFoundation 0x014f2f99 __CFXNotificationPost_old + 745 20 CoreFoundation 0x0147233a _CFXNotificationPostNotification + 186 21 Foundation 0x000db266 -[NSNotificationCenter postNotificationName:object:userInfo:] + 134 22 Foundation 0x000e75a9 -[NSNotificationCenter postNotificationName:object:] + 56 23 MediaPlayer 0x01184dd6 -[MPAVItem _updateForNaturalSizeChange] + 278 24 MediaPlayer 0x011818e4 __-[MPAVItem blockForDirectAVControllerNotificationReferencingItem:]_block_invoke_1 + 82 25 MediaPlayer 0x011899ba -[MPAVController _postMPAVControllerSizeDidChangeNotificationWithItem:] + 138 26 Foundation 0x000e56c1 _nsnote_callback + 145 27 CoreFoundation 0x014f2f99 __CFXNotificationPost_old + 745 28 CoreFoundation 0x0147233a _CFXNotificationPostNotification + 186 29 Foundation 0x000db266 -[NSNotificationCenter postNotificationName:object:userInfo:] + 134 30 Celestial 0x052a35b2 -[NSObject(NSObject_AVShared) postNotificationWithDescription:] + 176 31 Celestial 0x052ab214 -[AVController fpItemNotification:sender:] + 735 32 Celestial 0x052b5305 -[AVPlaybackItem fpItemNotificationInfo:] + 640 33 Celestial 0x052a3d5c -[AVObjectRegistry safeInvokeWithDescription:] + 211 34 Foundation 0x000fa9a6 __NSThreadPerformPerform + 251 35 CoreFoundation 0x014fc01f __CFRUNLOOP_IS_CALLING_OUT_TO_A_SOURCE0_PERFORM_FUNCTION__ + 15 36 CoreFoundation 0x0145a28b __CFRunLoopDoSources0 + 571 37 CoreFoundation 0x01459786 __CFRunLoopRun + 470 38 CoreFoundation 0x01459240 CFRunLoopRunSpecific + 208 39 CoreFoundation 0x01459161 CFRunLoopRunInMode + 97 40 GraphicsServices 0x01e4f268 GSEventRunModal + 217 41 GraphicsServices 0x01e4f32d GSEventRun + 115 42 UIKit 0x0038a42e UIApplicationMain + 1160 43 MyApp 0x0000837a main + 102 44 MpApp 0x00002009 start + 53 ) terminate called after throwing an instance of 'NSException' Been fighting with this for several days, and have searched the internet quite a bit for anybody having similar problems, all with no luck. • Why is casting Derived** to Base*const* forbidden ?

    - by smerlin
After reading this question, i saw the answer by Naveen containing a link to this page, which basically says, that casting from Derived** to Base** is forbidden since could change a pointer to an pointer to a Derived1 object point to a pointer to a Derived2 object (like: *derived1PtrPtr=derived2Ptr). OK, i understand this is evil ... But when casting Derived** to Base*const* this is not even possible, so whats the reason that this is not allowed anyway ?

  • Could someone explain Spring Security BasePermission.Create?

    - by Matthew Sowders
I am working on a project that involves Spring Security ACL and I came across the create permission BasePermission.CREATE. Would someone please explain how this is supposed to work or what it allows someone to do? It is my understanding that each object has an acl, and each acl has many ace's, and each ace has an sid and a permission. How can you grant permission on an object to create it, if it must be created in order to attach the acl to it?

  • actionscript3: reflect-class applied on rotationY

    - by algro
    Hi, I'm using a class which applies a visual reflection-effect to defined movieclips. I use a reflection-class from here: link to source. It works like a charm except when I apply a rotation to the movieclip. In my case the reflection is still visible but only a part of it. What am I doing wrong? How could I pass/include the rotation to the Reflection-Class ? Thanks in advance! This is how you apply the Reflection Class to your movieclip: var ref_mc:MovieClip = new MoviClip(); addChild(ref_mc); var r1:Reflect = new Reflect({mc:ref_mc, alpha:50, ratio:50,distance:0, updateTime:0,reflectionDropoff:1}); Now I apply a rotation to my movieclip: ref_mc.rotationY = 30; And Here the Reflect-Class: package com.pixelfumes.reflect{ import flash.display.MovieClip; import flash.display.DisplayObject; import flash.display.BitmapData; There are several possible reasons: • The file name or path does not exist. • The file is being used by another program. • The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook. please advice to solve this problem. here is my code: private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Application xlApp = new Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Application(); if (xlApp == null) { MessageBox.Show("EXCEL could not be started. Check that your office installation and project references are correct."); return; } xlApp.Visible = true; Workbook wb = xlApp.Workbooks.Add(XlWBATemplate.xlWBATWorksheet); Worksheet ws = (Worksheet)wb.Worksheets[1]; if (ws == null) { MessageBox.Show("Worksheet could not be created. Check that your office installation and project references are correct."); } // Select the Excel cells, in the range c1 to c7 in the worksheet. Range aRange = ws.get_Range("C1", "C7"); if (aRange == null) { MessageBox.Show("Could not get a range. Check to be sure you have the correct versions of the office DLLs."); } // Fill the cells in the C1 to C7 range of the worksheet with the number 6. Object[] args = new Object[1]; args[0] = 6; aRange.GetType().InvokeMember("Value", BindingFlags.SetProperty, null, aRange, args); // Change the cells in the C1 to C7 range of the worksheet to the number 8. aRange.Value2 = 8; // object missing = Type.Missing; // wb.SaveAs(@"C:\mymytest.xlsx", missing, missing, missing, missing, //missing, XlSaveAsAccessMode.xlExclusive, missing, missing, missing, missing, //missing); }

  • How to explicitly select the row in ListView in WPF?

    - by Ashish Ashu
I have a ListView in which one of the column contains combo box. I have binded the selectedItem of a Listview, so that I get the current object (selected row ) in the listview. When I do any operation in a combo box like selection change then the listview row ( in which that combo box belongs) is not selected be default and hence my selectedItem gives null or previous row selected object. Please Help!!

  • How to set a default value with Html.TextBoxFor?

    - by dcompiled
Simple question, if you use the Html Helper from ASP.NET MVC Framework 1 it is easy to set a default value on a textbox because there is an overload Html.TextBox(string name, object value). When I tried using the Html.TextBoxFor method, my first guess was to try the following which did not work: <%: Html.TextBoxFor(x => x.Age, new { value = "0"}) %> Should I just stick with Html.TextBox(string, object) for now?

  • pyQt4: QWidget subclass not responding to new setStyleSheet() background colour

    - by Ronny
I am having an issue with PyQt4. I want to create a new widget within a window, and I want this widget to have a custom color. When i create a subclass of the QWidget class, and instantiate it, I am not able to change its background color through the setStyleSheet() function. When I instantiate a new QWidget object, I have no problems in changing its background color. But i dont want an ordinary QWidget object.I want to create my own subclass of QWidget. When i create a subclass of a QPushButton, I am also able to change its background color using the setStyleSheet() function. There are no error messages or warnings in the console window, it just refuses to work properly without any indication as to why. So what i would like to know is why is it that i can change the background color of a widget if i simply create a QWidget object, or a subclass of QPushButton, but not when i create a subclass of QWidget. And how can i therefore change the background color of an object that is a subclass of QWidget? Is it maybe something specific to the version of python or PyQt that i am using? Is it a bug in the library? or some flaw in the way that i am writing my code? I am using python 2.6.4 and PyQt4 Below is an example of the code that leads me to trouble. There are three widgets within the window one below the other. The parent widget is set with background color of green. The top widget is set to red, the middle one, is the subclass of QWidget, which should be blue, but it appears invisible because it takes on the color of the parent window for some reason. and the bottom widget is a subclass of QPushButton and is white. import sys from PyQt4 import QtGui, QtCore ################################################################################ #--------------------------------------------------------- CUSTOM WIDGET CLASS 1 class CustomWidget(QtGui.QWidget): def __init__(self, parent): QtGui.QWidget.__init__(self, parent) # some custom properties and functions will follow ################################################################################ #--------------------------------------------------------- CUSTOM WIDGET CLASS 2 class CustomWidget2(QtGui.QPushButton): def __init__(self, parent): QtGui.QPushButton.__init__(self, parent) # some custom properties and functions will follow ################################################################################ #----------------------------------------------------------- PARENT WIDGET CLASS class Parent(QtGui.QWidget): def __init__(self, parent=None): #---------------------------------------------------------- SETUP WINDOW QtGui.QWidget.__init__(self, parent) self.resize(500, 340) self.setStyleSheet("QWidget {background-color: #00FF00}") #-------------------------------------------------- SETUP DEFAULT WIDGET wid1 = QtGui.QWidget(self) wid1.setGeometry(10, 10, 480, 100) wid1.setStyleSheet("QWidget {background-color: #FF0000 }") #------------------------------------------------- SETUP CUSTOM WIDGET 1 wid2 = CustomWidget(self) wid2.setGeometry(10, 120, 480, 100) wid2.setStyleSheet("QWidget {background-color: #0000FF }") for i in dir(wid2): print i #------------------------------------------------- SETUP CUSTOM WIDGET 2 wid3 = CustomWidget2(self) wid3.setGeometry(10, 230, 480, 100) wid3.setStyleSheet("QWidget {background-color: #FFFFFF }") ################################################################################ #-------------------------------------------------------------------------- MAIN app = QtGui.QApplication(sys.argv) win = Parent() win.show() app.exec_()

  • jQueryUI autocomplete - when no results are returned

    - by Brian M. Hunt
I'm wondering how one can catch and add a custom handler when empty results are returned from the server when using jQueryUI autocomplete. There seem to be a few questions on this point related to the various jQuery plugins (e.g. jQuery autocomplete display “No data” error message when results empty), but I am wondering if there's a better/simpler way to achieve the same with the jQueryUI autocomplete. It seems to me this is a common use case, and I thought perhaps that jQueryUI had improved on the jQuery autocomplete by adding the ability to cleanly handle this situation. However I've not been able to find documentation of such functionality, and before I hack away at it I'd like to throw out some feelers in case others have seen this before. While probably not particularly influential, I can have the server return anything - e.g. HTTP 204: No Content to a 200/JSON empty list - whatever makes it easiest to catch the result in jQueryUI's autocomplete. My first thought is to pass a callback with two arguments, namely a request object and a response callback to handle the code, per the documentation: The third variation, the callback, provides the most flexibility, and can be used to connect any data source to Autocomplete. The callback gets two arguments: A request object, with a single property called "term", which refers to the value currently in the text input. For example, when the user entered "new yo" in a city field, the Autocomplete term will equal "new yo". A response callback, which expects a single argument to contain the data to suggest to the user. This data should be filtered based on the provided term, and can be in any of the formats described above for simple local data (String-Array or Object-Array with label/value/both properties). When the response callback receives no data, it inserts returns a special one-line object-array that has a label and an indicator that there's no data (so the select/focus recognize it as the indicator that no-data was returned). This seems overcomplicated. I'd prefer to be able to use a source: "http://...", and just have a callback somewhere indicating that no data was returned. Thank you for reading. Brian

  • "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation" Running Tests - VS2008 SP1

    - by omatrot
I'm using Visual Studio 2008 Team Suite and I'm unable to run tests and display the Test/Windows/Test Result Window. The result is a dialog box with the following content : "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation". Team Explorer has been installed after Visual Studio 2008 SP1. So I have re-apllied the service pack. Searching the web I found that this error is pretty common but unfortunately, the proposed solutions does not work for me. The problem was never analysed so I decided to give it a try : I reproduced the problem on a computer, attached the process with windbg and start with the basic investigations. • Casting SelectedItem of WPF Combobox to Color causes exception

I have a combobox databound to the available system colors. When the user selects a color the following code is fired: private void cboFontColour_SelectionChanged(object sender, SelectionChangedEventArgs e) { Color colour = (Color)(cboFontColour.SelectedItem); } This throws a Casting Exception with the following message: "Specified cast is not valid." When I hover over cboFontColour.SelectedItem in the debugger, it is always a Color object. I do not understand why the system seemingly cannot cast from Color to Color, any help would be much obliged.

Hi, Is there a way in NHibernate to get the foreign key of a child object, without fetching the child object? EG. I have User and UserRole. Can I access User.UserRole.UserRoleId without causing another hit on the database to retrieve UserRole? I realize I can set fetch mode to eager and this will stop it from hitting the database again, but theoretically this shouldn't be needed, as the User table has UserRoldId in it. Thanks in advance.
