I want to see the overview of the image at the beginning. Then i want to be able to zoom with the normal safari zoom functions,..

  • HTML + CSS: fixed background image and body width/min-width (including fiddle)

    So, here is my problem. I'm kinda stuck at the moment. I have a huge background image and content in the middle with those attributes: content is centered with margin auto and has a fixed width the content is related to the image (like the image is continued within the content) this relation is only horizontally (vertically scrolling moves everything around) This works actually fine (I'm only talking desktop, not mobile here :) ) with a position fixed on the huge background image. The problem that occurs is the following: When I resize the window to "smaller than the content" the background image gets it width from the body instead of the viewport. So the relation between content and image gets lost. Now I have this little JavaScript which does the trick, but this is of course some overhead I want to avoid: $(window).resize(function(){ img.css('left', (body.width() - img.width()) / 2 ); }); This works with a fixed positioned image, but can get a litty jumpy while calculating. I also tried things like that: <div id="test" style=" position: absolute; z-index: 0; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%: height: 100%; background: transparent url(content/dummy/brand_backgroud_1600_1.jpg) no-repeat fixed center top; "></div> But this gets me back to my problem described. Is there any "script-less", elegant solution for this problem?   • Ruby Design Problem for SQL Bulk Inserter

    This is a Ruby design problem. How can I make a reusable flat file parser that can perform different data scrubbing operations per call, return the emitted results from each scrubbing operation to the caller and perform bulk SQL insertions? Now, before anyone gets narky/concerned, I have written this code already in a very unDRY fashion. Which is why I am asking any Ruby rockstars our there for some assitance. Basically, everytime I want to perform this logic, I create two nested loops, with custom processing in between, buffer each processed line to an array, and output to the DB as a bulk insert when the buffer size limit is reached. Although I have written lots of helpers, the main pattern is being copy pasted everytime. Not very DRY! Here is a Ruby/Pseudo code example of what I am repeating. lines_from_file.each do |line| line.match(/some regex/).each do |sub_str| # Process substring into useful format # EG1: Simple gsub() call # EG2: Custom function call to do complex scrubbing # and matching, emitting results to array # EG3: Loop to match opening/closing/nested brackets # or other delimiters and emit results to array end # Add processed lines to a buffer as SQL insert statement @buffer << PREPARED INSERT STATEMENT # Flush buffer when "buffer size limit reached" or "end of file" if sql_buffer_full || last_line_reached @dbc.insert(SQL INSERTS FROM BUFFER) @buffer = nil end end I am familiar with Proc/Lambda functions. However, because I want to pass two separate procs to the one function, I am not sure how to proceed.     Hello! I am using phpmailer class to send email and i am attaching a file to the mail. The email is sent successfully but the attachment which is an sql file is empty which should not be the case. I have tried with an image file, but it seems that every file that i attach is empty.   • Creating a table with an initial element selected

    I want to create a table which displays in each row a set of data, in addition to a radio button for possible selection. This can be achieved easily by using a simple table model class which extends the DefaultTableModel and a cell renderer and editor class which implements the TableCellRenderer and TableCellEditor interfaces respectively. What I really couldn't manage to do is to make the table to display initially one of the elements (rows) initially selected. It seems straightforward but it isn't...does anybody have a clue about it?

My goal is to include all rows where $data[70] isn't blank, and also include rows where $data[29] = 713555666 && $data[8] isLongDistance = TRUE My question is, if isLongDistance($data[8]) returns false, will it still return the row since $data[70] is not blank? thanks in advance

  • Avoid having a huge collection of ids by calling a DAO.getAll()

    Instead of returning a List<Long> of ids when calling PersonDao.getAll() we wanted not to have an entire collection of ids in memory. Seems like returning a org.springframework.jdbc.support.rowset.SqlRowSet and iterate over this rowset would not hold every object in memory. The only problem here is i cannot cast this row to my entity. Is there a better way for this?

  • Cairo / GTK example code crashes when window is too big or maximized

    I have copied and compiled the source code available in the section titled "Full Source". http://cairographics.org/threaded_animation_with_cairo/ I adapted this code to a project that I'm working on only to find that the app would crash when I made the window too big. Going back to the original example code, it too crashes when the window is too big ( 1000x1000 or so). I narrowed down in the example that this line appears to be responsible: pixmap = gdk_pixmap_new(window-window,500,500,-1); Where pixmap is of type GdkPixmap*. Resizing the window overwrites pixmap with a new pixmap that is the size of the window. I am doing this in Eclipse Juno in Windows Vista, 32-bit. My compiler is MinGW version 0.5-beta-20120426-1. My GTK+ version is 2.24.10 and apparently Cairo is 1.10.2 I added all of the includes and libraries for GTK and also added compiler switch -mms-bitfields. Is there a limit to the size of a pixmap or something? I'm just starting with GTK with examples so I'm not sure where to go if this example doesn't work.

    I am trying to mix dynamic and static cells in a grouped table view: I would like to get two sections with static cells at the top followed by a section of dynamic cells (please refer to the screenshot below). I have set the table view contents to static cells. Edit II I have recreated my scene in storyboard (please refer to my updated screen shot above) and rewritten the view controller in order to start from a new base.     I have some strings that need a-strippin': ÃœT: 9.996636,76.294363 Tons of long strings of location codes. A literal regex in PHP won't match them, IE $pattern = /ÃœT:/; echo preg_replace($pattern, "", $row['location']); Won't match/strip anything. (To know it's working, /T:/ does strip the last bit of that string). What's the encoding error doing on here? Alternately, I would accept a concise way to take out just the numbers.

  • How to calculate the height of the text rectangle from an NSString?

    I know there is this one: sizeWithFont:minFontSize:actualFontSize:forWidth:lineBreakMode: But since the CGSize always has the same height and doesn't adjust to any shrinked text or whatsoever, the CGSize is not telling how heigh the text is. Example: Make a UILabel with 320 x 55 points and put a loooooooooooooong text in there. Let the label shrink the text down. Surprise: CGSize.height remains the same height even if the text is so tiny that you need a microscope. Ok so after banging my head against my macbook pro which is half way broken now, the only think that can help is that nasty actualFontSize. But the font size is in pica I think, it's not really what you get on the screen, isn't it? When that font size is 10, is my text really 10 points heigh at maximum? Once in a while I tried exactly that, and as soon as the text had a y or some character that extends to below (like that tail of an y does), it is out of bounds and the whole text is bigger than 10 points. So how would you calculate the real text height for a single line uilabel without getting a long beard and some hospital experience?

The code would need to enter the product_id into an array and check whether it is unique. If the product_id is unique to the array, then the product_id is echoed out unaltered, and parent is echoed out to the 'Parent/Child' column and then the product_id is repeated to the 'Parent SKU' column. However, if the array is checked and the product_id already exists in the array, then the product_id is echoed out to the 'SKU' column with a suffix i.e. _1. Then child is echoed to the 'Parent / Child' column and the original parent product_id echoed to the 'Parent SKU' column. HOWEVER - the same SKU cannot be repeated with the same suffix i.e. 12345_1, 12345_1 - so presumably there would be to be another array for the suffixed SKUs to be checked against. If anybody could help, it would be great.     I'm trying to build a rather specific query to find a set of user_ids based on topics they have registered to. Unfortunately it's not possible to refactor the tables so I have to go with what I've got. Single table with user_id and registration_id I need to find all user_ids that have a registration_id of (4 OR 5) AND NOT 1 Each row is a single user_id/registration_id combination. My SQL skills aren't the best, so I'm really scratching my brain. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • What are my best ASP.Net GridView replacement options?

    We currently use a GridView to display 1000+ rows of data. Minimum requirement for replacement is a fixed header row, fixed footer and columns would be a plus. This would have to work across IE 6 and greater. I've heard good things about Infragistics, but the demo on their page is slow. So what are my best options? jQuery? YUI? other 3rd party?

  • Large number of UPDATE queries slowing down page

    I am reading and validating large fixed-width text files (range from 10-50K lines) that are submitted via our ASP.net website (coded in VB.Net). I do an initial scan of the file to check for basic issues (line length, etc). Then I import each row into a MS SQL table. Each DB rows basically consists of a record_ID (Primary, auto-incrementing) and about 50 varchar fields. After the insert is done, I run a validation function on the file that checks each field in each row based on a bunch of criteria (trimmed length, isnumeric, range checks, etc). If it finds an error in any field, it inserts a record into the Errors table, which has an error_ID, the record_ID and an error message. In addition, if the field fails in a particular way, I have to do a "reset" on that field. A reset might consist of blanking the entire field, or simply replacing the value with another value (e.g. replacing the string with a new one that has all illegals chars taken out). I have a 5,000 line test file. The upload, initial check, and import takes about 5-6 seconds. The detailed error check and insert into the Errors table takes about 5-8 seconds (this file has about 1200 errors in it). However, the "resets" part takes about 40-45 seconds for 750 fields that need to be reset. When I comment out the resets function (returning immediately without actually calling the UPDATE stored proc), the process is very fast. With the resets turned on, the pages take 50 seconds to return. My UPDATE stored proc is using some recommended code from http://sommarskog.se/dynamic_sql.html, whereby it uses CASE instead of dynamic SQL: UPDATE dbo.Records SET dbo.Records.file_ID = CASE @field_name WHEN 'file_ID' THEN @field_value ELSE file_ID END, . . (all 50 varchar field CASE statements here) . WHERE dbo.Records.record_ID = @record_ID Is there any way I can help my performance here. Can I somehow group all of these UPDATE calls into a single transaction? Should I be reworking the UPDATE query somehow? Or is it just sheer quantity of 750+ UPDATEs and things are just slow (it's a quad proc server with 8GB ram). Any suggestions appreciated.
