• Flex DataGrid with ComboBox itemRenderer

  Hi there, I'm going spare trying to figure out the "correct" way to embed a ComboBox inside a Flex (3.4) DataGrid. By Rights (e.g. according to this page http://blog.flexmonkeypatches.com/2008/02/18/simple-datagrid-combobox-as-item-editor-example/) it should be easy, but I can't for the life of me make this work. The difference I have to the example linked above is that my display value (what the user sees) is different to the id value I want to select on and store in my data provider. So what I have is: <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="Type" width="200" dataField="TransactionTypeID" editorDataField="value" textAlign="center" editable="true" rendererIsEditor="true"> <mx:itemRenderer> <mx:Component> <mx:ComboBox dataProvider="{parentDocument.transactionTypesData}"/> </mx:Component> </mx:itemRenderer> </mx:DataGridColumn> Where transactionTypesData has both 'data' and 'label' fields (as per what the ComboBox - why on earth it doesn't provide both a labelField and idField I'll never know). Anyway, the above MXML code doesn't work in two ways: The combo box does not show up with any selected item. After selecting an item, it does not store back that selected item to the datastore. So, has anyone got a similar situation working?

• Paperclip and tempfile with Rails

  I'm trying to write a rails application where users can upload images, but Paperclip doesn't seem to be working for me. I've gone through all the basic steps (added has_attached_file, the migration, making the form multipart) but I keep getting the same error whenever I try uploading an image: can't convert nil into Integer Looking at the top of the stack ...rails3/lib/paperclip/processor.rb:46:in `sprintf' ...rails3/lib/paperclip/processor.rb:46:in `make_tmpname' .../ruby-1.9.2-head/lib/ruby/1.9.1/tmpdir.rb:154:in `create' .../ruby-1.9.2-head/lib/ruby/1.9.1/tempfile.rb:134:in `initialize' It seems the problem is in the tempfile.   Background Working in .NET 2.0 Here, reflecting lists in general. I was originally using t.IsAssignableFrom(typeof(IEnumerable)) to detect if a Property I was traversing supported the IEnumerable Interface. (And thus I could cast the object to it safely) However this code was not evaluating to True when the object is a BindingList<T>. Next I tried to use t.IsSubclassOf(typeof(IEnumerable)) and didn't have any luck either. (Already Working) Once inside this function, given the object the property resides on, and the PropertyInfo related, get the value of the property, cast it to an IEnumerable (assuming it's possible) and then iterate through each child and call ReflectObject(...) on the child with the count variable.

  I'm using DotNetOpenAuth with a MVC 4 application. All the sudden Google auth is failing (MS is working).   Is it possible to create a web service operation using primitive or basic Java types when using the Jaxb2Marschaller in spring-ws? When I try to call the webservice I get the following error: java.lang.IllegalStateException: No adapter for endpoint [...]: Does your endpoint implement a supported interface like MessageHandler or PayloadEndpoint I found out that if I change the method to that: @Override @PayloadRoot(localPart = "AddTaskRequest", namespace = "http://example.com/examplews/") public JAXBElement<Long> addTask(final JAXBElement<Task> task) throws AddTaskFault { final ObjectFactory objectFactory = new ObjectFactory(); return objectFactory.createAddTaskResponse(0L); } I am able to call it - but this signature is not compatible with the interface generated by the maven jaxws plugin. • Ajax Asynchronous in IE - Error "The Data Necessary to Complete This Operation is Not Yet Available"

  Hey there. I have a 100% valid Ajax model written in Javascript with a few inputs I use being, Get or Post method, What page to communicate with, What String to send to that page and What element on my own page I might be fiddling with when I receive my response. The problem is that, should I set the request to Asynchronous (Hence Ajax), IE returns the error "The Data Necessary to Complete This Operation is Not Yet Available" in the onreadystatechange event where all I do is check if the readystate is 4 and the status is 200. The error doesn't come up in Firefox or Chrome as I would exepect as the Ajax is Asynchronous. Heres a snippet from the Post method xmlhttp.open("POST", commPage, true); xmlhttp.setRequestHeader("Content-Type","application/x-www-form-urlencoded; charset=UTF-8"); xmlhttp.onreadystatechange = function() { if (xmlhttp.readyState == 4 && xmlhttp.status == 200) { j = xmlhttp.responseText; i.innerHTML = j; } } xmlhttp.send(str); Edit: I should point out that in IE, I'm using the ActiveX Control - Msxml2.XMLHTTP or Microsoft.XMLHTTP or whichever returns true first.

• Really slow obtaining font metrics.

  So the problem I have is that I start my application by displaying a simple menu. To size and align the text correctly I need to obtain font metrics and I cannot find a way to do it quickly. I tested my program and it looks like whatever method I use to obtain font metrics the first call takes over 500 milliseconds!? Because of it the time it takes to start-up my application is much longer than necessary. I don't know if it is platform specific or not, but just in case, I'm using Mac OS 10.6.2 on MacBook Pro (hardware isn't an issue here). If you know a way of obtaining font metrics quicker please help.   I've seen example com.example.android.apis.view.List11 from ApiDemos. In that example, each row takes the view android.R.simple_list_item_multiple_choice. Each such view has a TextView and a CheckBox. Now I want each view to have 2 TextView's and 1 CheckBox, somewhat similar to the List3 example.   Hi All, I am trying to get update the eye position in my shader from my appliaction but I keep getting error 1281 when I attempt this. I have no problems after the initialization just when i subsequently try to update the values. So, the error message I'm getting is: 'parameter type conflict'... the function "FC_RJS_INCLUIR_RELACAO_PRODCAT" it's a Java Stored Procedure too, it's already exported to Oracle, and returns an int variable, and i have to read this to decide which webservice i will call from this JavaSP. I have already tried the OracleTyep.NUMBER in the registerOutParameter. Anyone knows what i'm doing wrong?

  I use Bouncy Castle for generation of X.509 client certificates and sing them using a known CA. First I read the CA certificate from the certificate store, generate the client certificate, sign it using the CA. Validation of the certificate is failed doe to the following issue A certificate chain could not be built to a trusted root authority. As I understand this is due to the certificate not being related to the CA. This only seems to be a problem when the attached property is of type ObservableCollection so it seems like WPF is trying to do something magical when binding properties of this type and getting confused in the process. Anyone know what I need to do to make it work?

• jQuery DataTables: Problems with POST Server Side JSON output

  Hello Everyone, I am trying to get my datatable to take a POST JSON output from my server. When I change my sAjaxSource to view this page the table doesn't move beyond 'processing'. When I view the JSON directly I see this output. {"sEcho": 1, "iTotalRecords": 1, "iTotalDisplayRecords": 1, "aaData": [ ["Trident","First Ever Job"]] } Just for fun I went to the POST server-side example and copied some of the JSON they are using for their example and just PHP echoed it straight out of another page. This is the output of that page. {"sEcho": 1, "iTotalRecords": 1, "iTotalDisplayRecords": 1, "aaData": [ ["Trident","Internet Explorer 4.0"]] } Here is where it gets interesting. The JSON that has been processed by the server fails to work yet the JSON simply echo'd by the same server on a different page does work... yet both are almost identical in outputs. • Logging in worker threads spawned from a pylons application does not seem to work

  I have a pylons application where, under certain cirumstances I want to spawn multiple worker threads to process items in a queue. Right now we aren't making use of a ThreadPool (would be ideal, but we'll add that in later). The main problem is that the worker threads logging does not get written to the log files. When I run the code outside of the pylons application the logging works fine. So I think its something to do with the pylons log handler but not sure what. • EWS 2010: Public Folder Problem using .NET

  I've recently coded a .NET Console app using C#. It's purpose was to read the emails within a specific folder, parse them for specific values and save them to a database. Our email system, at the time I originally coded this, was Exchange 2003. However, I was made aware we would soon be upgrading to Exchange 2010: ergo, I built the code to work in both environments. Following the migration to 2010, however, the app has broken. The app uses the EWS API for 2010 functionality. When it attempts to use the ExchangeService's FindFolders method to find the publicfoldersroot, it throws an exception. Here's the code: ExchangeService service = new ExchangeService(); FindFoldersResults findRootFldrs; service.UseDefaultCredentials = true; service.AutodiscoverUrl("[email protected]", delegate(string x) { return true; }); FolderView fview = new FolderView(100); fview.Traversal = FolderTraversal.Deep; if (findRootFldrsSub == null) { //Set to root to test local folders -- findRootFldrs = service.FindFolders(WellKnownFolderName.PublicFoldersRoot, fview); } The exception: "The mailbox that was requested doesn't support the specified RequestServerVersion" I've attempted: -Setting the exchangeservice to 2007 (throws an exception: "An internal server error occurred. The operation failed.") -Giving myself the highest level of permission to the Public Folder (no effect) -Manually setting my credentials (no effect) I can view the public folders in outlook; the publicfoldersroot property is available in the intellisense; the code works on local folders (I can parse my inbox). My current thinking is that it's a setting on the recent setup of Exchange 2010: unfortunately that isn't really my field.

• Error using Dynamic Data Filtering: missing datasource

  I am trying to use the ASP.NET Dynamic Data Filtering project, but I'm running into a problem during the configuration. I'm following the instructions on the author's blog, and everything works like described. Then it tells me to change the datasource using the designer view. I am told to select the "GridDataSource" in the "Configure data source" wizard. This option is not there though. I get all of the classes in my project, including the DataContext that was generated by Linq. When I choose "Show only DataContext objects", the dropdown ("Choose your context object:") is completely empty. When I turn of the checkbox and choose my DataContext class, I get asked which table I want and all that. But, as the whole purpose of a Dynamic Data site is NOT to use one single table, that's not much help. So I've looked at the instructions again and copied the resulting datasource from the example: <asp:DynamicLinqDataSource ID="GridDataSource" runat="server" EnableDelete="True" EnableUpdate="True"></asp:DynamicLinqDataSource> Which is exactly what I had, without the "WhereParameters" nodes in there. Now, when I run the list page however, I get an exception about a missing datasource from the filtering component. Of course when I remove the DynamicFilterRepeater, it works again. • ReflectionTypeLoadException with Silverlight serialization attributes

  Hi all, I´m trying to inspect the types in a silverlight 4 assembly from a .NET 3.5 application. I have loaded the silverlight assembly with a Assembly.ReflectionOnlyLoadFrom sentence. contractsAssembly = Assembly.ReflectionOnlyLoadFrom(contractsAssemblyPath); When the .NET application tries to perform a call to GetTypes(), it throws a ReflectionTypeLoadException. Type[] types = contractsAssembly.GetTypes(); The LoaderExceptions property in the ReflectionTypeLoadException contains a list of exceptions, all of them regarding a problem loading a type that has serialization attributes. Type 'XXXX' in assembly 'YYYY' has method 'OnSerializing' with an incorrect signature for the serialization attribute that it is decorated with. The type XXXX has the following definitions in it: [System.Runtime.Serialization.OnSerializing] public void OnSerializing(System.Runtime.Serialization.StreamingContext context) [System.Runtime.Serialization.OnSerialized] public void OnSerialized(System.Runtime.Serialization.StreamingContext context) [System.Runtime.Serialization.OnDeserializing] public void OnDeserializing(System.Runtime.Serialization.StreamingContext context) [System.Runtime.Serialization.OnDeserialized] public void OnDeserialized(System.Runtime.Serialization.StreamingContext context) I have tried changing the method signature to internal or private, but with no luck. However, I see that .NET tools such as Reflector can inspect this Silverlight assembly, so there is a way to inspect Silverlight assemblies with serialization attributes from a .NET applciation.
