    Hi everybody, I have a webpage where I put 1 image once in a while, this is just like xkcd.com I would like to know how to let google know the text in my images.     Hi, I've just stumbled upon this: within a Unity container, I want to register IDictionary<TK, TV>; assume that it's IDictionary<string, int> _unityContainer = new UnityContainer() .RegisterType<IDictionary<string, int>, Dictionary<string, int>>(); but if I try var d = _unityContainer.Resolve<IDictionary<string, int>>(); it fails to resolve... I get...   • Entity Framework 4 relationship management in POCO Templates - More lazy than FixupCollection?

    I've been taking a look at EF4 POCO templates in beta 2. The FixupCollection looks fine for maintaining the model correctness after updating the relationship collection property (i.e. product.Orders it would set the order.Product reference ). But what about support for handling the scenario when some of those Order objects are removed from the context? The use-case of maintaining cascading deletes in the in-memory model. The old Typed DataSet model used to do this by performing the query through the container to derive the relationship results. Like the DataSet, this would require a reference to the ObjectContext inside the entity class so that it could query the top-level Order collection. Better support for Separation of Concerns in the ObjectContext would be required. It looks like EF is not suited to this use-case that DataSets did out of the box.... am I right?

    How do I mount dynamic disk on new system without access to the old OS ? I need to move Dynamic data disk from old Windows XP (Pro, SP3) system, where disk crashed, to new Windows system without having access to the old OS. On new system, Dynamic disk shows as "Dynamic - Foreign". Microfoft has instructions for moving Dynamic Disk [1]. But Microsoft assumes having access to the old system. But I do not have acess to the old system. I am struck with "Dynamic - Foreign" static of the disk on new system.   • Problems calling Cufon.Replace from within a function

    Hi, I'm doing a content loader and the content that gets loaded needs some Cufon action. And that doesn't work right now since I only apply Cufon when the initial page loads. And not the newly loaded content. Now, shouldn't this be working? function loadContent() { $('#content').load(toLoad,'',showNewContent()) Cufon.replace('h1, h2, h3, h4, .menuwrapper', { fontFamily: 'advent'});} Or am I not getting something?   • Why is TransactionScope operation is not valid?

    I have a routine which uses a recursive loop to insert items into a SQL Server 2005 database The first call which initiates the loop is enclosed within a transaction using TransactionScope. When I first call ProcessItem the myItem data gets inserted into the database as expected. However when ProcessItem is called from either ProcessItemLinks or ProcessItemComments I get the following error. “The operation is not valid for the state of the transaction” I am running this in debug with VS 2008 on Windows 7 and have the MSDTC running to enable distributed transactions. The code below isn’t my production code but is set out exactly the same. The AddItemToDatabase is a method on a class I cannot modify and uses a standard ExecuteNonQuery() which creates a connection then closes and disposes once completed. I have looked at other posting on here and the internet and still cannot resolve this issue.   • How can I prevent static when PC is plugged into an amplified speaker system?

    I've plugged a computer into an amp, using a 1/8 inch male extension cord, into a female adapter, that adapts into a male microphone 1/4 end. That being said, the amp sits at about half volume all the time because there are other things that play on it. (This issue is not flexible, nor is changing the amp) The problem is that now, even when I mute out the computer, you hear some static in the background. I was wondering some about some solutions (preferably multiple).

  • How to stop OpenGL from applying blending to certain content? (cocos2d/iPhone/OpenGL)

    Supporting Info: I use cocos2d to draw a sprite (graph background) on the screen (z:-1). I then use cocos2d to draw lines/points (z:0) on top of the background -- and make some calls to OpenGL blending functions before the drawing to SMOOTH out the lines. Problem: The problem is that: aside from producing smooth lines/points, calling these OpenGL blending functions seems to degrade the underlying sprite (graph background). So there is a tradeoff: I can either have (Case 1) a nice background and choppy lines/points, or I can have (Case 2) nice smooth lines/points and a degraded background. But obviously I need both. The Code: I have included code of the draw() method of the CCLayer for both cases explained above. As you can see, the code producing the difference between Case 1 and Case 2 seems to be 1 or 2 lines involving OpenGL Blending.   • Can you make a Windows network default user profile NOT apply to a certain operating system?

    I would like to create a network Default User account for Windows 7 only. This is on a Windows 2003 domain with servers from Windows 2000 to 2008 R2 and Windows XP on workstation side. We're about to do a full migration to Windows 7 and I'd like to start using the network default user profile functionality as we're not migrating user profiles over. Want everyone to start clean. I followed the simple steps from this page: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/973289 under the heading: "How to turn the default user profile into a network default user profile in Windows 7 and in Windows Server 2008 R2" but the problem is that profile would then apply to a new user\admin logging into a 2008 server. That's no good. Anyone have any ideas on how to limit what actually uses that network profile? I was thinking about setting deny permissions for all my admin\service accounts on that "\\dcserver\netlogon\Default User.v2" folder but then it might be timing out and cause other problems. Haven't tried yet as that seems like a bad way of making this work.

    My ideal scenario is that there is a script/command to boot into the alternate OS from the current OS you are in, restarting the same OS without running the script/command will return it to the same OS. Currently I have grub setup to remember the last OS booted, using GRUB_DEFAULT=saved and GRUB_SAVEDEFAULT=true, I'd like to keep this option. I have read about the ability to manipulate grub from within Ubuntu to boot into windows, shown in this link. Is there a way to similarly boot into Ubuntu from within Windows? I am primarily connecting to this device remotely and hence my query.

    I have a simple task. There are two classes : Ticket and Date. Ticket contains event, event place and event date which is a Date object. I also need to provide a move() method for Date object, so I used Calendar and Calendar's add(). Everything looks fine apart of the output. I constantly get 5,2,1 as the date's day,month,year. Lines with asterix return proper date. After i type a message in the applet, and send it, I get the foll output in java console: Trying to send msg :you deR?? Message sent! But in servlet side, I dont get anything in the logs. I used the O'Reily Java Servlet Programming as reference(The observer interface comes from there). But I am not getting any chat communication between two clients. As can be understood from the logs, the POST method is not called. Any reason for this?

    In the .NET BCL there are circular references between: System.dll and System.Xml.dll System.dll and System.Configuration.dll System.Xml.dll and System.Configuration.dll Here's a screenshot from .NET Reflector that shows what I mean: How Microsoft created these assemblies is a mystery to me. Is a special compilation process required to allow this? I imagine something interesting is going on here.

  • Is there a workaround to the disappearing Perl/Tk text widget scrollbar for right justified content?

    I've come across a bug I believe in Perl/Tk 804.027 Text Widget (using Scrollable('ROText')). When I add a tag that selects all and apply the configuration change to justify to the right, the scrollbars do not show up. If I comment out the tagConfigure where I justify to the right, the scrollbars come back. Does anyone have a workaround or fix for being able to right justify a text widget's contents (includes text and embedded entry widgets) and still have functional horizontal scrollbars?

    I recently upgraded a Dell Inspiron 6400 to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I have a 32-bit 3D application that refuses to run, giving an error of "Failed to initialise [sic] Direct3D device". The dxdiag tool tells me: DirectDraw Acceleration: Enabled Direct3D Acceleration: Not Available However, the 64-bit version of dxdiag tells me: DirectDraw Acceleration: Enabled Direct3D: Enabled I have installed and re-installed the latest graphics drivers, as well as the DirectX 9 redistributable, but it stills fails in the same way. dxdiag reports the chipset name as the "Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset Family" with the the Chip Type as "Intel(R) GMA 950". The main driver is igdumd64.dll, version 8.15.10.1930. How can I get 32-bit Direct3D working?

  • Duplicate content in ASP.NET MVC because of custom routes MapRoute(), are areas the rescue?

    I use custom routes for my URLs and my action become accessible via two URLs (not counting trailing slash and lower\upper case letters): one via my custom route /my-custom-route-url/ and one via default /controller/action. I see one possible solution -- put all controllers which use default routing (they are mostly backend) in one area, and place all others in separate area and use it without default route. May be there is a better way?
