  • Using database in Android

    - by Paul
Does anyone know a good step by step tutorial for using sqlite on Android? I've found this: http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/data/data-storage.html#db and it ok to start with, but then it wants me to jump into other source code then its difficult to follow. I've tried others on the web, one from screaming penguin and that just kept causing errors with JVM. Advice greatly appreciated. I need to: Create database, with several tables (auto id, declare type) update get

  • Can I write a test without any assert in it ?

    - by stratwine
Hi, I'd like to know if it is "ok" to write a test without any "assert" in it. So the test would fail only when an exception / error has occured. Eg: like a test which has a simple select query, to ensure that the database configuration is right. So when I change some db-configuration, I re-run this test and check if the configuration is right. ? Thanks!

  • SQL Profiler and Tuning Advisor for Reporting Services - what events should be selected?

    - by chris
I've used the SQL Profiler to generate a trace file, and tuning advisor to take that trace file and provide some recommendations on db updates. However, the SQL Profiler doesn't seem to track the queries when running against a Reporting Server, the profiler doesn't seem to be capturing any of the queries. I'm logging the defaults (SQL:BatchCompleted and Starting, RPC:completed, and Sessions - Existing Connections) What events should I be capturing in SQL Profiler in order to run the tuning advisor?

  • Programmatically creating linked tables in access

    - by newtoaccess
Hi all, We need to find a way to programatically *link all the tables* in a SQL Server database to an access db. We will be invoking this access database from a program that uses .net/SQL Server 2008. While invoking the application we would like to add the linked tables so that the users can just run the reports/modules from access without having to worry about linking the tables. Is there a way we can do this? Thanks!

  • How to avoid nested functions when using AJAX?

    - by Fletcher Moore
Sequential Asynchronous calls are gross. Is there a more readable solution? The problem is this is hard to follow: ajaxOne(function() { // do something ajaxTwo(function() { // do something ajaxThree() }); }); where the anonymous functions are callbacks that are called on server response. I'm using a third party API to make the AJAX calls, so I need a generic solution.
