• CascadeType problem in One to Many Relation

When I Use CascadeType.ALL in my OneToMany, I got this error: org.hibernate.HibernateException: Illegal attempt to associate a collection with two open sessions and when I change CascadeType to something else I got this error: org.hibernate.TransientObjectException: object references an unsaved transient instance - save the transient instance before flushing: com.RCSTT.library.FieldMapper Thanks for your help.

  I have developed a xpcom component using c++. I have GetHWND() method in my component. I have also developed another xpcom component using javascript. I want to make use of GetHWND function in javascript xpcom component. • How can I get latency info from Android's AudioTrack class?

  I've noticed that the C++ classes underlying the AudioTrack and AudioRecord APIs in Android both have a latency() method that is not exposed via JNI. As far as I can see, the latency() method in AudioRecord still does not take into account the hardware latency (they have a TODO comment for that), but the latency() method in AudioTrack does add in the hardware latency. I absolutely need to get this latency value from AudioTrack. Is there any possible way I can do this? I don't care what kind of crazy hack is needed as long as it doesn't require a rooted phone (the resulting code must still be packaged as an app on the market).

• Rails: simple bundler question

  Hi! I just installed the ruby-openid gem and then bundled it by entering gem 'ruby-openid', :require => 'openid' in the gemfile. Then I started bundle install and bundle lock. Everything worked fine so far. But how can I now access the classes of ruby-openid. OpenID::method won't work for me. It raises a not found error. What have I forgot or done wrong? I'm thankful for any help!

• How do you implement caching in Linq to SQL?

  We've just started using LINQ to SQL at work for our DAL & we haven't really come up with a standard for out caching model. Previously we had being using a base 'DAL' class that implemented a cache manager property that all our DAL classes inherited from, but now we don't have that. I'm wondering if anyone has come up with a 'standard' approach to caching LINQ to SQL results? We're working in a web environment (IIS) if that makes a difference. I know this may well end up being a subjective question, but I still think the info would be valuable. EDIT: To clarify, I'm not talking about caching an individual result, I'm after more of an architecture solution, as in how do you set up caching so that all your link methods use the same caching architecture.

• Embedded web server and gui framework for .NET applications

  Hi, I'm looking for a framework which allows me to manage my application through a webbased GUI (using an embedded webserver) instead of winforms. Something like this: http://www.webtoolkit.eu/wt but then for .NET In my code I should be able to instantiate classes (like buttons, forms etc), and when a user browses to a given port, the app should render it as javascript/ajax etc etc. preferably, when buttons are pushed, a notification in my code should be called. this is a less specific question than another one I posted about extjs. I hope this will attract more viewers since it is more generic Thanks. Update: cassini like solutions don't fit the bill. Since the webbrowser is embedded in my application, there is no need for ASP.NET server side scripts. I would rather have the framework, call functions inside my application when things happen on the page. onButtonClicked() for instance.

• Multiple webservices in 1 ear/ejb project

  We have a ejb project (which is in an ear) that shares quite a bit of code between 2 webservices. The classes that the webservices expose are in different packages but they have different names. For example Web service1 com.d.trunk.Response WS1.process( com.d.trunk.Input ); Web service2 com.d.fwd.Response WS2.process( com.d.fwd.Input ); So this builds fine, but when we deploy and we view the generated wsdl and the generated xsd things begin to go a bit haywire. So if we look at web service 2 it generates the wsdl and xsd as we expect. But when we look at ws 1's wsdl for some reason it includes the xsd from the ws 2 and its own xsd. And its own xsd are missing key types like the Response type. Is this an issue because we have 2 web services in 1 ejb project? Or some config issue with Netbeans 6.7.1 and glassfish v2?

  Hi a little background: I am Using Spring 2.5, and specifically spring IOC and annotations. I am using @Autowired in my code (the Autowiring is done by type) and use @Component for exposing Classes to the Automatic wiring. The situation described bellow arose while i tried to test my code. now to the problem: Note: i use a different Spring Context for the Test environment. I have a class FOO which is @Autowired but in the test context i want to use a different class of the same type MockFoo (extends FOO) The Spring Setup of course fails do so automatically due to multiple options for the Dependency Injection of the FOO class (both FOO and MockFOO comply to the Type check) I am looking for a way to inject the test bean instead of the original bean. I expected Spring to allow using the Context configurion file to override a bean injection or to order Spring not to autowire a specific bean BUT All these option seem to exists only for the beans which were originally defined in the Spring Context Configuration file

  Hello, The question I'm asking is kind of subjective. I've seen twice, while exercising with real projects such as StoreFront, both Repository and Services. Sometimes they can just be folders or projects attached to the solution. But they contain classes and interfaces. So, I'd like to know what goes to the repository and what goes to the services. So far, I was familiar with repositories (we put methods and properties in the repository to reduce the complexity in the controller). How about the services? So, ASP.NET MVC: What's the difference in concept between Service and Repository? (Maybe none) My question is Kind of subjective, but I'd like to make sure that I'm not missing anything.   Hi all, I implemented the delegate-callback pattern between two classes without retaining the delegate. But in some cases, the delegate is dealloced. (My case is that I have a ViewController is the delegate object, and when the user press back button to pop that ViewController out of the NavigationController stack) Then the callback method get BAD_EXE: if (self.delegate != nil && [self.delegate respondsToSelector:selector]) { [self.delegate performSelector:selector withObject:self withObject:returnObject]; } I know the delegate-callback pattern is implemented in a lot of application. • Are evolutionary algorithms and neural networks used in the same problem domains?

  I am trying to get a feel for the difference between the various classes of machine-learning algorithms. I understand that the implementations of evolutionary algorithms are quite different from the implementations of neural networks. However, they both seem to be geared at determining a correlation between inputs and outputs from a potentially noisy set of training/historical data. From a qualitative perspective, are there problem domains that are better targets for neural networks as opposed to evolutionary algorithms? I've skimmed some articles that suggest using them in a complementary fashion. Is there a decent example of a use case for that? Thanks

  I am still fairly new to C# and I am trying to decide the best way to structure a new program. Here is what I want to do and I would like feed back on my idea. Presentation Layer Business Layer (Separate Class Library) Data Layer (Separate Class Library) Model Layer (Separate Class Library) What I am struggling with is if it is ok to have the classes in the Data Layer and Business Layer inherit from the types I define in Model Layer. This way I can extended the types as needed in my Business Layer with any new properties I see fit. I might not use every property from the Model type in my Business Layer class but is that really a big deal? If this isn't clear enough I can try and put together an example.

• Best Practice - Validating Input In Simple GUI Application?

  I'm writing a GUI app with wxwidgets in C++ for one of my programming classes. We have to validate input and throw custom exceptions if it doesn't meet certain conditions. My question is, what is best practice when it comes to this? Should I write a seperate function that checks for errors, and have my event handler's call that function? Or should I do my error-checking in my event handlers? Or does it really matter? Thanks!

  Is there a way for me to include a simple array of strings, or List<string> on my custom subclass of ConfigurationSection? (Or an array or generic list of simple data objects, for that matter?) I'm becoming familiar with the new (and VERY verbose) ConfigurationSection, ConfigurationElement, and ConfigurationElementCollection classes, but I'm by no means an expert yet. It seems like ConfigurationSection should handle simple collections/lists on its own, without me having to create a custom ConfigurationElementCollection subclass for each and every one. But I haven't found any reference to this ability online.

  Hi, I'm trying to integrate Sugar CRM with one of my projects. I'm using Apache Axis as my SOAP client. I've created the Sugar CRM client Stub classes using Apache Axis. I'm able to login and add Leads, Opportunities, Accounts and Contacts. But I'm unable to add a relation ship between my Account and Opportunity. I've found following method in the SugarsoapPortType port.set_relationship(session, module_name, module_id, link_field_name, related_ids, name_value_list, delete) but I cannot understand the different parameters required by this method.   Hello guyz,i am new to daatbase and class diagram.I just get scenarios from internet and try to develop ERD and Class Diagram for them.But the following scenario has caused me some problems, and i am not sure about my design. "Whenever an employee fills leave application form, the leave application should be appeared for approval to his/her team leader. Team Leader has the option to change the date of requested leave and to approve or reject the leave. Employee also has the option to change date of previously unapproved leaves or to cancel any of unapproved leave. In case of team leader, he can approve his own leaves. Management should be able to create categories of leaves like (Casual, Sick, Planned work, etc) and should be able to adjust the days allocated to each type of leave". I have identified these as entities for ERD 1) Employee(I think i dont need to make entity for Technical lead,since he is an employee) 2) LeaveHistory 3) LeaveCategory Plz correct me if the system need more classes or entities

• Ordering the calling of asynchronous methods in c#

  Hi, Say I have 4 classes ControllerClass MethodClass1 MethodClass2 MethodClass3 and each MethodClass has an asynchronous method DoStuff() and each has a CompletedEvent. The ControllerClass is responsible for invoking the 3 asynchronous methods on the 3 MethodClasses in a particular order. So ControllerClass invokes MethodClass1.DoStuff() and subscribes to MethodClass1.CompletedEvent. When that event is fired, ControllerClass invokes MethodClass2.DoStuff() and subscribes to MethodClass2.CompletedEvent. When that event is fired, the ControllerClass invokes MethodClass3.DoStuff() Is there a best practice for a situation like this? Is this bad design? I believe it is because I am finding it hard to unit test (a sure sign) It is not easy to change the order I have an uneasy, code-smell feeling about it What are the alternatives in a situation like this?

  We have this XML: <Summary> <ValueA>xxx</ValueA> <ValueB/> </Summary> <ValueB/> will never have any attributes or inner elements. It's a boolean type element - it exists (true) or it doesn't (false). JAXB generated a Summary class with a String valueA member, which is good. But for ValueB, JAXB generated a ValueB inner class and a corresponding member: @XmlElement(name = "ValueB") protected Summary.ValueB valueB; But what I'd like is a boolean member and no inner class: @XmlElement(name = "ValueB") protected boolean valueB; How can you do this? I'm not looking to regenerate the classes, I'd like to just make the code change manually.

• jQuery exclude elements with certain class in selector

  I want to setup a click event trigger in jQuery for certain anchor tags. I want to open certain links in a new tab while ignoring ones with a certain class (before you ask I cannot put classes on the links I am trying to catch as they come from a CMS). I want to exclude links with class "button" OR "generic_link" I have tried $(".content_box a[class!=button]").click(function (e) { e.preventDefault(); window.open($(this).attr('href')); }); But that doesn't seem to work, also how do I do an OR statement to include "generic_link" in the exclusion? In WPF implementation of RelayCommand or DelegateCommand classes there is a such eventhandler /// <summary> /// Occurs whenever the state of the application changes such that the result of a call to <see cref="CanExecute"/> may return a different value. /// </summary> public event EventHandler CanExecuteChanged { add { CommandManager.RequerySuggested += value; } remove { CommandManager.RequerySuggested -= value; } } but in SL subset of namespaces there are no CommandManager class. And this is where I'm stuck. I haven't yet found an workaround for this in MVVM adoptation for SL (PRISM is so complex for me yet). Different simple HelloWorldMVVM apps don't deal with at all. • Intercept web requests from a WebView Flash plugin

  I've got a desktop browser app which uses a WebView to host a Flash plugin. The Flash plugin makes regular requests to an external website for new data, which it then draws as fancy graphics. I'd like to intercept these web requests and get at the data (so I can display it via Growl, instead of keeping a desktop window around). But best I can tell, requests made by Flash don't get picked up by the normal WebView delegates. Is there another place I can set a hook? I tried installing a custom NSURLCache via [NSURLCache setSharedURLCache] but that never got called. I also tried method swizzling a few of the other classes (like NSCachedURLResponse) but couldn't find a way in. Any ideas? Many thanks!

  In my code I am using JSF - Front end , EJB-Middile Tier and JPA connect to DB.Calling the EJB using the Webservices.Using MySQL as DAtabase. I have created the Voter table in which I need to insert the record. I ma passing the values from the JSF to EJB, it is working.I have created JPA controller class (which automatcally generates the persistence code based on the data base classes) Ex: getting the entity manager etc., em = getEntityManager(); em.getTransaction().begin(); em.persist(voter); em.getTransaction().commit(); I have created the named query also: @NamedQuery(name = "Voter.insertRecord", query = "INSERT INTO Voter v values v.voterID = :voterID,v.password = :password,v.partSSN = :partSSN,v.address = :address, v.zipCode = :zipCode,v.ssn = :ssn, v.vFirstName = :vFirstName,v.vLastName = :vLastName,v.dob = :dob"),But still not able to insert the record? Can anyone help me in inserting the record into the Data base through JPA.(Persistence object)?

• Where and how to validate and map ViewModel?

  Hi, I am trying to learn Domain Driven Design and recently read that lots of people advocate creating a ViewModels for your views that store all the values you want to display in a given view. My question is how should I do the form validation? should I create separate validation classes for each view, or group them together? I'm also confused on what this would look like in code. This is how I currently think validation and viewmodels fit in to the scheme of things: View (some user input) - Controller - FormValidation(of ViewModel) - (If valid map to ViewModel to Domain Model) - Domain Layer Service - Infrastructure Thanks!
