  • How to stop gecko-mediaplayer from buffering endlessly?

    I'm using the gecko-mediaplayer plugin (formerly "mplayerplug-in"). The totem plugin was not always working correctly with Opera, and I'm actually depending on the [Copy URL] feature of gecko-mediaplayer. However that plugin does some inept buffering of videos. It seems to default to 20% caching regardless of what you set in the preferences window. This is quite annoying for big video files. But appearantly it's by design http://groups.google.com/group/gecko-mediaplayer/browse_thread/thread/b7f0f5a3cedc8979 The Gentoo forums listed some workaround http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-816690.html - but ~/.config/gecko-mediaplayer/gecko-mediaplayer.conf is not working in the Ubuntu version. Does anyone know the actual way to configure the cache= size. Which is the real configuration filename under Ubuntu?

    I just installed the ATI driver for my Ubuntu 11.10. After some annoying bugs and errors it works for now. But there is one most stupid bug. Whenever I open a picture in the default image viewer (eye of gnome EOG) it shows me an overexposed picture. Update Driver I used was 8.911-111025a-128237C-ATI with Catalyst 11.11. I installed the driver via jockey and used the driver released with Ubuntu because the post-release driver fails everytime.

    I'm looking for a wordpress theme that I can work from. I'm basically creating a website like the following two http://www.damnyouautocorrect.com/ and http://icanhas.cheezburger.com/ - both are wordpress based websites which I guess are custom made themes. I'm looking for a theme that will let users enter content without beign logged in. Basically the post type has a title and a description and the name of the author. The homepage will show one post with a "Next" button. Clicking that will load the next post. The user content input just needs a title, description, and a name of the author. I'd also like to add voting up/down. I'm just asking first before I start hacking away at a theme.

    Hey all, I’ve just installed SOA Suite 11.1.1.4 and noticed a few funnies which people might hit, thankfully each of them have an easy solution.   1. Some applications are installed but dont appear to work? If when you install SOASuite you may notice that the following applications dont appear to work, however they do appear as deployments in Weblogic Server Console e.g.  SOA Composer (composer), FMW Welcome Page Application (11.1.0.0.0) and some of the adaptors. If they appear in the deployments list state as “installed” and not Active, then its likely that they haven't been targeted to a specific server.   The solution is to target the application the desired managed server , e.g. AdminServer in a development environment. This is done by selecting the application, tab “Targets”, select all components, Button[change Targets] and select the appropriate server. This change can be done without restarting the Weblogic Server 2. You might find that when you try to log into the BPM Composer at http://machine:7001/bpm/composer , the login screen will appear but you cant log in. The error log might mention the following   The solution to this is two fold, a) When creating the domain, avoid using 127.0.0.1 as the Listener address, or “Any Addresses”, if this is a development machine create an alias in your /etc/hosts file and then use this alias in the domain creation wizard. e.g.   my host file contains an entry     mypc     127.0.0.1   And in the Fusion middleware Configuration wizard   Twill then work!   if it still doesnt you can try setting the ServerURL attribute to http://mypc in the SoaInfraMBean instead of blank. This is accomplished by using Enterprise Manager. Use the System MBean Browser to navigate to Application Defined MBeans->oracle.as.soainfra.config->[ server]->SoaInfraConfig->soa-infra. Then changing the value of 'ServerURL' to http://mypc   Failing that give support a call….

  • 403 error on index file

    When I try to access index.py in my server root through http://domain/, I get a 403 Forbidden error, but when I can access it through http://domain/index.py. In my server logs it says "Options ExecCGI is off in this directory: /var/www/index.py". However, my httpd.conf entry for that directory is the same as the ones for other directories, and getting to index.py works fine. My permissions are set to 755 for index.py. I also tried making a php file and naming it index.php, and it works from both domain/ and domain/index.php.   • Set IP address to point to certain domain

    I have a Linux VPS, DirectAdmin as web panel and already set a domain to it. everything is OK and I can see my website in my browser using domain name. Now I need to have access to my site using its IP address. something like http://86.57.88.29, but when I try to load my site in a browser using its IP I get below message and I have to post-fix my IP with /~admin (http://86.57.88.29/~admin) to get it work. This IP is being shared among many domains. To view the domain you are looking for, simply enter the domain name in the location bar of your web browser. So how can I configure my IP to point to my public_html folder without and ~admin like phrase? Thanks.

  • ubuntu stuck in a login loop after editing profile file

    I'm stuck in a login loop now. What I did was edited /etc/profile as root and added the following line export PATH = /opt/my jdk 7 path/bin:$PATH After logging out and tried to login, I cannot I have tried booting in recovery mode, entered root prompt and tried to edit the file in vi but it always opens in read only mode and hence cannot be saved. I just need a way to delete that line and boot into ubuntu again. Please help me out guys..

In this all new version the support from Oracle has enabled a transformation of the editor underpinning Java framework and results in 3x performance improvement and 50% better memory utilization. So why is this a foundation version? Basically the new drag and drop designer tool allows you to tailor your own dictionary collection of components and then simply select and position those into your resulting exchange structure. This is true global reuse enabled from a canonical domain dictionary collection. So instead of grappling with XSD Schema syntax, or UML model nuances – this is straightforward direct WYSIWYG visual engineering – using familiar sets of business components. Then the toolkit writes the complex XSD Schema for you, along with test samples, documentation, XMI/UML models, Mindmaps and more. So how do you get a set of business components? The toolkit allows you to harvest these from existing schema collections or enterprise data models, or as in the case of NIEM, existing domain dictionary collections. I’ve been using this for the latest IEEE/OASIS/NIST initiative on a Common Data Format (CDF) for elections management systems.     I lost my sound the other day and I tried to delete pulseaudio then reinstall, then I tried to delete it and install alsa, It did not work and I had to reinstall everything; overall bad idea... now I can't have any sound. Should I do a fresh install? I don't know how to boot an usb drive with GRUB...   • Creating a Document Library with Content Type in code

We have already checked to see that it does not exist.     I am using WordPress and in my post sidebar I have related posts which may be of interest to the user, however, I also have an excerpt of each article which is normally the first paragraph of the post it is linking to. For example: http://musicdune.com/reviews/album-review-ellie-goulding-lights If you do a Google Search for the first excerpt in the realted posts section from that page you get 4-5 results from my domain, http://www.google.co.uk/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=Strip+back+the+synths,+fast+beats+and+the+other+pop+elements,+and+you%E2%80%99re+left+with+something+elegant+and+soulful Is it recommended that I remove the excerpt from the related posts?

  • Microsoft Async CTP for DDD9 UK Developer Conference - slides and source code now available

    Thanks to all the nice comments from people who attended my presentation at DDD9, and extra thanks to Jon Skeet, Mark Rendle and Mike Hadlow for coming on stage for the last ten minutes to help debate whether the Async CTP is the correct way to go to enhance C# 5.0.
