• How do I blur (ios7 style) a section of an image in a UITableViewCell?

  I've got a UIImageView that takes up the whole cell and shows an image. I'd like to blur the bottom third of the view in the iOS7 style (we're targeting iOS7). There will be a label over the blurred part. The issue seems to be that I can't "screenshot" the UIImageView right as I am setting up the cell in tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath: as it hasn't loaded yet. Although i've even tried setting up a timer for a 0.1 second delay and that also doesn't work. I've tried the stuff on http://damir.me/posts/ios7-blurring-techniques I've tried https://github.com/justinmfischer/7blur I'd like to use the new screenshotting API drawViewHierarchyInRect:afterScreenUpdates: I'd also like to use apple's sample code UIImage+ImageEffects The only thing that has worked so far has been to just put a UIToolbar in but the performance is really slow. I don't need dynamic updates. I've managed to get the following effect a few times but it has just tinted the view and hasn't actually blurred anything so I'm a bit confused.

  I'm using an NSTreeController to manage nodes for an NSOutlineView. This seems logical: NSInteger row = [entityCollectionOutlineView rowForItem:newNode]; [entityCollectionOutlineView editColumn:0 row:row withEvent:nil select:YES]; However, row is always -1 indicating the object isn't found. Poking around reveals that the tree controller is not actually putting my objects directly in the tree, but is wrapping them in a node object of its own. Anyone have insight into how I would go about getting a row index relative to the outline view, so I can do this (without, hopefully, enumerating everything in the outline view and figuring out the mapping back to my node?)

  In the iPhone Objective-C app, I want to pop-up a window (which is smaller than the main view, and the app does not stop running) when a button is tapped, with textField for the user to input text, and dismiss it when it is done. This is widely used but I really cannot google the relevant content out. What view should I use to connect it with the button? AlertView (which seems you cannot add dialogue in), ModalView? Are there relevant info somewhere? Thanks.

• iPhone: Infinitely looping content inside UIScrollView

  In my app, I'm designing a custom picker that allows the user to choose an item by scrolling horizontally and touching it. I need the buttons inside that view to loop around infinitely as the user scrolls in a certain direction. What would be the best way to tackle this feature while maintaining the inertial scrolling of UIScrollView when the content loops around out of the view? From my research of others trying to attempt this, they have trouble maintaining the deceleration animation if the scroll position is programatically shifted mid-scroll after the user lifts their finger. How can I work around this limitation? An example of an app that currently has this feature is Apple's MobileMe Gallery app. In the interface, after choosing a gallery, at the top, there is a horizontally scrollable photo picker that loops infinitely as it is dragged one direction. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

• AppDelegate viewController memory leak?

  I am just curious with regards to the correct way to create a view controller programatically. When I compile this code with the static analyser I get a leak (as you would expect) from the alloc.   Sorry for the question it might sounds stupid, But: how do you activate a ProgressBar according to the cell you just cliked on ? I have a list view, with a menu that shows after a long press. When I click on one of my option I would like to display the ProgressBar in the listView according to the cell I clicked on. • Problem with entityForName & ManagedObjectContext when extending tutorial material

  Afternoon all, I tried to add a second data entity to the persistent store in the (locations) coredata tutorial code, and then access this in a new view. I think that I've followed the tutorial, and checked that I'm doing a clean build etc, but can't see what to change to prevent it crashing. I'm afraid I'm at my wits end with this one, and can't seem to find the step that I've missed. I've pasted the header and code files below, please let me know if I need to share any more of the code. • Proper way to setup a UISegmentedControll on UINavigationController UINavigationBar all inside UITab

  The title pretty much describes it all. The problem being the handling of the UISegmentedControll callbacks (button presses). If the content type of all of the nested views was the same (i.e. some UITableViewControllers) then I could just switch dataSource'es and reload the tables. However this is not the case, I have 3 very different views in there that allow further drilldown / interaction based on the NavigationControllers. So the way I have this set up ATM is that there is a "container" class that I put all of the UINavigationControllers in. They all share the same and one UISegmentedController and I redirect the callbacks to the container view controller. This does not feel too good at all. Additionally there is a problem when the user taps on the tab bar icon, the navigation controller pops to root which is ... the empty container view. Here's a picture of what I want to achieve:

• Searching Techniques/Algorithms for Resources over a given area

  I have a flat area with nodes randomly placed on this flat surface. I need techniques which are able to take a starting point, move in a certain way (the algorithm), find nodes and continue searching. I do not have an overall view of the surface (i.e. I cannot see everything), only a limited view (i.e. 4 cells in any direction). Ideally, these methods would be efficient in the way that they work. Any points in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

• out of memory issue in asp .net mvc application

  Hi, I have got one wierd issue. I am working on an asp .net mvc application. I have a refresh button that build some data and view models in the controller code, and returns the partial view back. Well this refresh does work good the very first time. But when i try to click my refresh button again, a javascript alert comes saying "out of memory at line 56" I checked my task manager to see on whats happening. I ahve a 3GB memory and when this error alert shows up the used memory is 1.41 GB. Its normal usage as it looks like. But I dont know why it shows the javascript error alert. This problem happens in my local workstation where I am doing developement of this application. Any thoughts or comments to trouble shoot or solve this issue is appreciated. I ma using IE7.

• Problem with autocommit in ANT SQL task

  I have an SQL script and want to apply it witn ANT task. This script clears out schema, creates new tables and views. The ANT defined task as follows: <sql driver="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver" url="jdbc:mysql://host:3306/smth" userid="smth" password="smth" expandProperties="false" autocommit="true" src="all.sql" > </sql> When this task launches, it shows in log that tables are cleared and created. But when it tries to create first view, it fails with: Failed to execute: CREATE VIEW component... AS SELECT component_raw.id AS MySQLSyntaxErrorException: Table 'component_raw' doesn't exist I have no idea why it fails here. Running this all.sql from MySQL query browser gives no errors. When I launched ANT with -v option, I didn't see any "COMMIT" messages.. Please, help to resolve the problem.

  Hi, I'm trying to send an email merging one document (docx) with a contacts database (via OleDB). Using MSWord2007, it seems easy (it works for easy things: name, address, ...) but I can't find how fill an query-get url string with a merge field inside an hyperlink. An hyperlink like: Click here where here is an hyperlink to http://domain.com/[email protected] where [email protected] is the address of the contact, a merge field. I've tried the special/merge fields: {HYPERLINK "http://domain.com/test.php?contact={MERGEFIELD contactEmail}" \o "Here"} but it doesn't work, sometimes it merge only the first record and then send all the mails with the same address, I got this alternating the view with ALT+F9. This support doc doesn't work for me because I don't have the complete URL in my database for each contact, and I can't change the design of the table or add a view (it's from the CRM), I don't like to do it exporting the table and adding the field. The problem is, some of my data contains commas, and therefore is split by the autocomplete helper. Heres my code. However, the second form is located at http://localhost/dts/index.php/timesheet/summary, and when I submit the change-week form, it goes thru the change_week() function but goes to http://localhost/dts/index.php/timesheet/timesheet/change_week. Notice the word timesheet is repeated. When I submit the form again, another timesheet is added. What's wrong and how do I improve my code?   Hi, What's the best way to set up a controller to sort by many (possibly null) criteria? Say for example, I was building a site that sold cars. My CarController has a function Index() which returns an IList of cars to the view, and details on each car are rendered with a partial view. What's the best way to structure this? Especially if there are a lot of criteria: Car Type (aka SUV), Car Brand, Car Model, Car Year, Car Price, Car Color, bool IsNew, or if I want to sort by closest to me etc... I'm using NHibernate as my ORM. Should I have just a ton of possible NHibernate queries and figure out which one to choose based on if/then's in the controller? Or is there a simpler way. • UIView Clipped By Statusbar until Autorotate

  Hi There, Ive created a multiview application that uses multiple controllers to display and control views. The problem Im having is, when the simulator initially loads the view the header is partially covered by the bar at top of screen and the tool bar at the base is not touching the base of the screen. I used the Interface builder size attributes to control the view when the iphone rotates and it works perfectly. All smaps into place perfectly both in landscape and portrait mode AFTER a rotation but the problem is with the initial load before a rotation occurs. Your thoughts a much appreciated. Tony
