  • How to save state of the app when app terminates?

    Hi guys. I am trying to save the app state by encoding when the app terminates. I've found the solution related this issue. But I don't know how to use.   • C# Event routing in code behind

    I'm building a WPF MVVM-ish application. I want to be able to display an event log containing items in a collection that exists in my viewmodel. I want any of the objects in the model to be able to add data to the event log. Therefore every object needs to be able to pass data back to one central collection for databinding in the view. I could implement an event in every one of my data classes and manually pass the events up the object heirarchy but this seems super clumsy. On the visual tree a Routed Event would take care of this, is there some equivelent in the model scope? Any other ideas?

  • Windows service - supplying arguments in "path to executable"

    I cannot figure out how to pass (constant) arguments into my Windows service when it is started. I'm using the standard .NET classes like ServiceBase to implement (and ServiceProcessInstaller and ServiceInstaller to install) my service. On the general tab of a Windows Service properties dialog box (once installed), there's a "Path to executable" in which I can see that some of the standard Windows services have command line arguments specified. System.ServiceProcess.ServiceBase.OnStart takes string[] args, which I presume would enable these arguments to be accessed from within .NET code. Are there some properties on ServiceProcessInstaller or ServiceInstaller that I can set to allow me to pass startup arguments to my own service, or does anyone know how it's supposed to be done?

    I was just experimenting around with one of my programs, trying to make it looks prettier and I found something interesting. I have an interface that 4 classes inherit from. I found that if I pass the Class as an object to a method like so: ClassTest classtest = new ClassTest(); DoOperation(classtest); private void DoOperation(object o) { ((InterfaceClass)o).DoThis(); } So I can pass any type of class that inherits from InterfaceClass, and it will preform the proper interface operation? This is the coolest thing I've ever found from OOP (something I've never really studied) I really thought interfaces were created for the sole purpose of organization for developers. Are there more uses for interfaces than this?

  • C++ Recursion Issue

    Hi guys, I feel a little dumb asking this, but here we go... When trying to follow the Recursion example at the following website http://www.cplusplus.com/doc/tutorial/functions2/, I ran into a road bump that has me perplexed. I altered the code slightly just to get my head around the code in the recursion example and I pretty much have my head around it, but I can't figure out why the variable 'n' increments in 'Pass B' when I have not told the program to increment 'n'.   • Displaying form validation errors in a template (Symfony)

    Hi, let's say I have a blog with a module "post". now I display a post like this: post/index?id=1 in the index-action i generate a new CommentForm and pass it as $this-form to the template and it is being displayed at the bottom of a post (it's just a textfield, nothing special). form action is set to "post/addcomment". How can I display the validation errors in this form? using setTemplate('index') doesn't work because I would have to pass the id=1 to it... thanks

  • Best way to parse XMPP-like XML streams?

    I am working on a server application which receives data over a TCP socket in an XMPP-like XML format, i.e. every child of the <root> element essentially represents one separate request (stanza). The connection is closed as soon as </root> is received. I do know that I must use a stream parser like SAX, somehow. Though, for convenience, I'd prefer to have a tree-like interface to access each stanza's child elements. (The data sent with every request is not large so I think it makes sense to read each stanza as a whole.) What's the best way to realize that in Python (preferably v3)? This is the code I'd like to build it in.     Is there a way to pass a wrap and unwrap a TObject descendent in an OleVariant? I am trying to pass a TObject across automation objects. I know it's not a good idea but I don't have a good alternative. Something like this: function GetMyObjAsVariant; var MyObj: TMyObj; begin MyObj := TMyObj.Create; result := OleVariant(MyObj); end; Which would be used by a client as var MyObj: TMyObj; begin MyObj := GetMyObjAsVariant as TMyObj; end; This fails to compile, returning E2015 Operator not applicable to this operand type.

  • Password verification; Is this way of doing it safe?

    I have a classifieds website, where everybody may put ads of their products. For each classified, the user has to enter a password (so that they can delete the classified whenever they wish). So basically, when somebody wants to delete a classified, they click on the classified, click on the delete button, and enter the pass. I use MySql as a database. I use this code basically: if ($pass==$row['poster_password']) where row[poster_password] is fetched from MySql... What do you think? Thanks

  • Has anyone ever had OpenCV work with Python 2.7 on MacOS 10.6?

    I've been trying on and off for the past 6 months to get OpenCV to work with Python on MacOS. Every time there's a new release, I try again and fail. I've tried both 64-bit and 32-bit, and both the xcode gcc and gcc installed via macports. I just spend the past two days on it, hopeful that the latest OpenCV release, that appears to include Python support directly would work. It doesn't. I've also tried and failed to use this: http://code.google.com/p/pyopencv/ I've been using OpenCV with C++ or Microsoft C++/CLI for the past few years, but I'd love to use it with Python on a Mac because that is my primary development environment. I'd love to hear from anyone who's actually been able to get the opencv python examples to run under Mac OS 10.6, either 32 or 64-bit. My last attempt was to follow the instructions on this page http://recursive-design.com/blog/2010/12/14/face-detection-with-osx-and-python/ with a clean, fresh install of 10.6 on a 64-bit capable Mac. My PYTHONPATH is set, and I can see the cv library in it. But an "import cv" from python fails. Previously, the closest I've ever gotten (again, staring on a clean, fresh 10.6 install) was this: Python 2.7.1 (r271:86882M, Nov 30 2010, 10:35:34) [GCC 4.2.1 (Apple Inc. build 5664)] on darwin Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information. >>> import cv Fatal Python error: Interpreter not initialized (version mismatch?)     How do you pass a value from your DAL to your sproc so that the ISNULL function will do it's job. Particularly the DATE value coming from my .NET assembly. In T-SQL an INSERT STMNT and in the VALUES clause, the line of interest goes like this; ISNULL(@myparm_forcolumn9, @myparm_forcolumn9). What value do I pass from .NET to make this line in my sproc work universally, so I don't have to write a millions INSERT SPROCS for every combination of columns??? I just want to write one stored procedure(sproc) that will handle all INSERTS in my universe.

  • Can't select database table even though the code is right

    I am trying to display a list of my vbulliten threads on a non-vbulliten portion of my site. However I can't select the vbulliten database: <?php $host = "localhost"; $user = "my username"; $pass = "my password"; $dbname = "tableprefix_forum"; mysql_connect($host, $user, $pass) or die ("Could not connect to database server."); mysql_select_db($dbname) or die ("Could not select database."); ?> I am substituting some things here in this example but all my credentials are correct including my db server username, password and forum db name. So what is the problem? Is it due to some internal security feature in vbulliten, does this system not allow you to connect to it's db if the page trying to connect to it is a non-vbulliten page?

  • Retrieve web user's Identity outside of request scope

    I have an ASP.NET app that logs Audit reports using nHibernate's IPreUpdateListener. In order to set the current user in the Listener events, I was using System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent(). This works fine when debugging on my machine, but when I move it to the staging server, I'm getting the ASP.NET process credentials, not the requesting user. In the ASP.NET page, I can use Request.LogonUserIdentity (which works fine since I'm using integrated authentication), but how do I reference this user directly without having to pass it directly to my event? I don't want to have to pass this info through the pipeline because it really doesn't belong in the intermediate events/calls.

I want to know how many different paths can the ball take from X to Y? for example if he is playing with 3 players there are 5 different paths, 4 players 16 paths, if he is playing with 20 players there are 330665665962404000 paths, and 40 players 55447192200369381342665835466328897344361743780 that the ball can take. the number max. of players that he can play with is 500.   • How to make pytest display a custom string representation for fixture parameters?

    When using builtin types as fixture parameters, pytest prints out the value of the parameters in the test report. For example: @fixture(params=['hello', 'world'] def data(request): return request.param def test_something(data): pass Running this with py.test --verbose will print something like: test_example.py:7: test_something[hello] PASSED test_example.py:7: test_something[world] PASSED Note that the value of the parameter is printed in square brackets after the test name. Now, when using an object of a user-defined class as parameter, like so: class Param(object): def __init__(self, text): self.text = text @fixture(params=[Param('hello'), Param('world')] def data(request): return request.param def test_something(data): pass pytest will simply enumerate the number of values (p0, p1, etc.): test_example.py:7: test_something[p0] PASSED test_example.py:7: test_something[p1] PASSED This behavior does not change even when the user-defined class provides custom __str__ and __repr__ implementations. Is there any way to make pytest display something more useful than just p0 here? I am using pytest 2.5.2 on Python 2.7.6 on Windows 7.

    I am using Propel as my DAL for my Symfony project. I can't seem to get my application to work across two or more databases.   • Selenium selected option in dropdown not displayed correctly

    I have the following issue with Selenium Webdriver. There are two dropdown menus on a page i am testing "brand" and "items". The options of "items" depend on which brand you choose. I am trying to iterate through all possible choices and print brand-item pairs. I use two possible ways to pick an option from each dropdown menu Using Select(): def retryingSelectOption(name,n): result=False attempts=0 while attempts<5: try: element=Select(driver.find_element_by_name(name)) element.select_by_index(n) print element.all_selected_options[0].text result=True break except StaleElementReferenceException: pass attempts+=1 return result And using .click(): def retryingClickOption(name,n): result=False attempts=0 while attempts<5: try: driver.find_element_by_name(name).find_elements_by_tag_name("option")[n].click() result=True break except StaleElementReferenceException: pass attempts+=1 return result My problem is that at ,what seem to me as random moments (sometimes it works sometimes it does not), even though the above functions return True and printing out the selected option shows me the correct answer, the browser still displays the previous option. So basically Selenium tells me i have picked the right option but the browser displays the previous one.No idea what is wrong.

    I have a simple Web Service that send email and is called via: public bool SendMail(string format, string from, string to, string cc, string bcc, string subject, string body, string replyTo) I have never used ajax before, and find I need to call this service and pass form contents to it from a simple html page (I cannot use asp or asp.net unfortunately). Can I get a quick rundown of what is required? I have searched for simple examples, but find I am having difficulty understanding how to call it and pass the parameters required of the Web Service.   • Can a webflow's action state have multiple redirects on success?

    Say, I have this type of webflow: def myFlow = { state1 { } on("next").to("stateAct") stateAct { action { ... DB stuff ... } } on("success").to("state2") state2 { } on("prev").to("state1") } Now, the contents of "stateAct" is common between state1 and state2. Meaning, if I press "next" from state1, I need to pass by stateAct before I can go to state2 (which is the current implementation) and if I press "prev" in state2, I need it to pass by stateAct before it goes to state1. Obviously, in the sample webflow above, it doesn't do the latter. So, my question is, is there a way to detect in stateAct who called it (state1 or state2) so that I can redirect accordingly on "success"? Or something similar to that behavior? Thanks! -Lee
