• Changing printer preferences in Windows programmatically

  I've written a script that installs several printers for a new user. I want to change the settings on some of these so that they can print on both sides of the page. I BELIEVE this involves modifying an attribute with printui, however it might need VB script or possibly another .NET language (I'd either use VB, C# or IronPython). I can add a comment to a given printer, but how do I select preferences and modify them? Pseudocode would look like this: printui.exe /n printername /??? [how to change quality desired] OR calls to the relevant Windows API.

• No Parameterless Constructor defined for - ViewModel with UOW

  I have a view model class which uses UnitOfWork to some database operations like fetching of items to create select lists and IPrincipal for some auditing (like modified by etc.). It cannot work without this UOW. I have configured my web site to use Ninject to inject UOW into Controllers. From controller I pass this UOW when creating view model. But when performing POST operation I am getting No parameterless constructor defined for this object. I have few SelectList type of properties which I have excluded with Bind attribute. How can I overcome this problem? Can I configure Ninject to create the objects of this type and make ModelBinder use it?

  I need to include an XSLT that exists in 2 variants, depending on a param value. However, it's seems to be not possible to write an expression in the href attribute of the xsl:include element. My last trial looks like that: < xsl:param name="ml-fmt" select="mono"/ ... < xsl:include href="{$ml-fmt}/format.xsl"/ The XSLT engine used is Saxon 9.2.0.6 Have anybody an idea about how I could do something close to that ?

• How to presist the user authentication in SL3 + RIA

  I am developing SL3 + RIA services with custom authentication. I followed the example in http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/RiaServices/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=2661 to implement custom authentication. Based on the implementation, you first do login request from client to service. This request is async process. Since login is async, the control will go back to GUI which then starts to do data bind in SL controls using RIA services, the services happens to requires the authentication to be successful (by adding [RequireAuthentication] attribute). The trouble is, since you requested login might not have completed before the data binding starts t this stage the authentication is false because of that data binding will fail. I would like to know if you require your web services to have 'RequireAuthentication' how would you wait for authentication to complete at the server side or client side. Appriciate the help.   Dear Engineers, I'm a newbie in RegEx I have thousands html tags, have wrote like this: <input type="text" name="CustomerName" /> <input type="text" name="SalesOrder"/> I need to match every name attribute values and convert them all to be like this: CustomerName -> cust[customer_name] SalesOrder -> cust[sales_order] So the results will be : <input type="text" name="cust[customer_name]" /> <input type="text" name="cust[sales_order]" /> My best try have stuck in this pattern: name=\"[a-zA-Z0-9]*\" - just found name="CustomerName" Please guide me wrote some Regular Expression magics to done this, I'm using Netbeans PDT.   Say I have this html: <a href="http://example.com">Test</a> I parse it using dom document with this code: $dom = new DomDocument(); @$dom->loadHTML($html); $urls = $dom->getElementsByTagName('a'); And then I run this code: foreach ($urls as $url) { //echo "<br> {$url->getAttribute('href')} , {$url->getAttribute('title')}"; foreach ($url->attributes as $a) { echo "<br>$a->name is $a->value"; } echo "<hr><br>"; } When I do this, I only see 'href' as an attribute of the url, there's no way to get the 'anchor text' (in the above case 'Test'). How can I get the anchor text of the link?

  I'm learning Rails, and the target of my experiments is to realize something similar to Zoho Creator, Flexlist or Mytaskhelper, i.e. an app where the user can create his own database schema and views. What's the best strategy to pursue this? I saw something about the Entity-Attribute-Value but I'm not sure whether it's the best strategy or if there is some support in Rails for it. If there was any tutorial in Rails about a similar project it would be great. Probably it's not the easiest star for learning a new language and framework, but it would be something I really plan to do since a long time.

• sqlite & python - only pulls the first result

  This is pretty strange (admitedly, this is my first attempt with python / sqlite), but I can seem to get all of the rows if I do a fetchAll(), but other than that - no matter what I try, always ends up in the db only returning the first row - the second iteration stops because a null is returned. Wondering if there is something wrong with how I am coding this up in python?   Hi there, I am working on an iPhone version of a website, and I am using jQuery .animate() with the scrollTop attribute to scroll to different sections of the page. Something like so: $('html,body').animate({ scrollTop: distance }, 300); On regular web browsers, the scrolling starts from the current window position to the desired position. On the iPhone, the window jumps back to the top of the document before scrolling to the desired position. This is apparently the intended action, but the pages just don't look good with all that movement. Alternatively, on Google.com for the iPhone, when the autosuggest is activated, there is a nice simple scroll to show the autosuggest options below the search box. That's what I'd like to do...

• Getter/Setter from separate class file in Java

  I'm new to Java and for a HW assignment, we had to create a Person class that has a constructor, getter/setter for the attributes of firstName, lastName, phone. That is in a separate file from an old HW assignment (Person.java). Now we have to use that Person class in our new HW assignment (LoanApplication.java). So if one of the attributes is private Person client do I need to create getter/setters or a constructor again? Otherwise, how does each LoanApplicaiton instance know which Person attribute it is to go with? How does the JVM know that it can use the Person.class even though my LoanApplicaiton.class does not extend Person.class? Thanks.

Also, I want to set attribute one by one. I can't think of if my array change to 10*10. How long it could be. So, I hope you guys can give me some suggestions on shorten the code, and more readable. thz

• How to handle expired items?

  My site allows users to post things on the site with an expiry date. Once the item has expired, it will no longer be displayed in the listings. Posts can also be closed, canceled, or completed. I think it would be be nicest just to be able to check for one attribute or status ("is active") rather than having to check for [is not expired, is not completed, is not closed, is not canceled]. Handling the rest of those is easy because I can just have one "status" field which is essentially an enum, but AFAIK, it's impossible to set the status to "expired" as soon as that time occurs. How do people typically handle this?

  I'm using Jumi to echo php code and then showing that in a Joomla Article, and everythings working fine. Now I want to do this: The output is basically a list from a database like this: Name Price Type A 1 T1 B 2 T2 In this list I want to include links to only show items of the same type, so "T1" would like to a page only showing things of type T1. So I thought I would do this by making a new page that takes a type and then get all the items of that type from the database. Without Joomla this wouldv'e been a piece of cake, with Joomla I'm not quite sure where to begin. How should the a href=... tags in the html code printed by my php script look? Is my basic structure still correct, and if so, how do I make Joomla open the new page in the normal frame and not replace the whole Joomla page. some kind of target-frame attribute?

• contenteditable element prevents hyperlink default behavior

  I've got the following problem. In IE if a contenteditable element is nested inside a hyperlink, clicking on the element prevents the hyperlink default behavior, i.e. navigation to another document. In FF it works fine. How can I solve the problem? Just removing the contentEditable attribute is not a solution since I want this behavior (navigation to another document) only when user clicks the content-editable element with pressed Ctrl key.   I have a function that is responsible for killing a child process when the program ends: class MySingleton: def __init__(self): import atexit atexit.register(self.stop) def stop(self): os.kill(self.sel_server_pid, signal.SIGTERM) However I get an error message when this function is called: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/python2.5/atexit.py", line 24, in _run_exitfuncs func(*targs, **kargs) File "/home/commando/Development/Diploma/streaminatr/stream/selenium_tests.py", line 66, in stop os.kill(self.sel_server_pid, signal.SIGTERM) AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'kill' Looks like the os and signal modules get unloaded before atexit is called. Re-importing them solves the problem, but this behaviour seems weird to me - these modules are imported before I register my handler, so why are they unloaded before my own exit handler runs?

  In a xhtml, i want to highlight the text between two self closing tags s1 and s2 whose attribute value is the same. Eg. <s1 ind="1"/> and <s2 ind="1" /> Eg. <html> <body> <a> <b>Some <s1 ind="1"/> text</b> <c>data <s2 ind="1"/>here</c> </a> </body> </html> I want "text data" to get highlighted. Is is possible to achieve using javascript/jquery? I could have many such self closing tag pairs s1 and s2 with a unique value for "ind" for the pair indicating that the text within them needs to be highlighted.

• Convert long number as string in the serialization

  I have a custom made class that use a long as ID. However, when I call my action using ajax, my ID is truncated and it loses the last 2 numbers because javascript loses precision when dealing with large numbers. My solution would be to give a string to my javascript, but the ID have to stay as a long on the server side. Is there a way to serialize the property as a string? I'm looking for some kind of attribute.   I'm currently writing some stylesheets for mobile browsers and have come across a strange issue in the Android browser. When changing the font-size CSS attribute of a text box the box gets bigger to accomodate the larger text. Doing this on a select box however does not change the size of the select box, but the text still gets larger (actually overlapping the top and bottom of the rendered form element). Can anyone tell me if it's possible to increase the height of select boxes in the Android browser. Or if not point me in the direction of a list of CSS attributes that can be applied to them. • Magento: Configurable product options not showing on a view page?

  I have multi-store Magento system and strange things happen when i try to see a configurable product on my main store - the options select lists don't show up at all! And that is the case for the 95% of the products on the main store. But on the other stores it works fine?! I can't see what am I doing wrong. All my products are configurable, all have set simple products with options attached to them, all are set to be visible on all stores (WebsiteIds attribute), all are enabled on all stores, all simple products are in stock and have some stock quantity set. I think if I've done something wrong it would be like that on all stores, not just the main one. I'm totally clueless, please help. • Unable to return large result set ORA-22814

  Hello All I am encountering an issue when I am trying to load a large result set using a range query in Oracle 10g. When I try a smaller range (1 to 100), it works but when I try a larger range(1 and 1000), I get the following error "ORA-22814: attribute or element value is larger than specified in type" error. I have a basic UDT (PostComments_Type) and I have tried using both a VArray and a Table type of PostComments_Type but that hasn't made a difference.
