  • Web Deployment Projects for VS2010 on build server failing with Error MSB4086

    When I upgraded my Web Deployment Project from VS2008 to the VS2010 beta version, I was able to execute the build locally on my development box. However, when I tried to execute the build on our TeamCity build server, I began getting the following exception: C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\WebDeployment\v10.0\Microsoft.WebDeployment.targets(162, 37): error MSB4086: A numeric comparison was attempted on "$(_SourceWebProjectPath.Length)" that evaluates to "" instead of a number, in condition "'$(_SourceWebProjectPath)' != '' And $(_SourceWebProjectPath.Length) >= 4)". I did install the Web Deployment Project addin on my build server and I did copy over the C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v10.0\WebApplications directory on my development box to the C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v10.0\ directory on the build server. Note: My dev box is 64bit and the build server 32bit. I can't figure out why this is behaving differently on the build server than on my dev machine. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Steve

  • Copy File Contiguously to Disk from OSX/Unix/Linux to FAT32 FS?

    So the Sysinternals guys have that cool contig.exe utility that allows me ensure a file is contiguous. I need to copy overs ISO files to a FAT32 USB flash key. Grub4DOS requires the files be continuous, but I do not have Windows access at the moment. Is there a way to copy a file so it is contiguous on the target drive, or a tool like the aforementioned that will make an existing file contiguous. Again, I need it on FAT32, and there lies the rub.

  • What happens when you uninstall a per-user installation?

    What happens if an MSI installation is set to install as per-user, and 3 different users log on and each install the app? Will Windows Installer recognise that the same MSI has already been installed into Program Files and therefore it doesn't need to install it again? What happens if one of the 3 users then uninstalls the app while they are logged in? Will Windows Installer recognise that 2 other users still need the app to be installed and therefore leave alone the app folder in Program Files?

  • Repair OS From Within VMWare

    I've got a Debian installation in an installation of ESXi that won't boot due to the deletion of a few system files that need to be restored. It would be preferable to at least access the files on the instance, if a repair is impossible. To complicate matters, there isn't enough room on the drive to upload a full distribution to boot from with VMWare disk utility. Any ideas on how to accomplish this?

  • autocomplete not working on one sever, works on others

    I have Ubuntu 10.10 x64 and x86 running on various servers and auto complete works on all of them bar one. The issue: apt-<tab> would show a list of options but sudo apt-<tab> would not. After fiddling with it for a few hours i've found that /etc/bash_autocomplete did not exist. on the broken server. Copying the one from a working one it now works. but still not properly. sudo apt-get ins<tab> does not show do anything. listing the files in /etc/bash_autocomplete.d/ on the working server has about 50 files, and the broken one only two or three. i dont think that i can just copy these files though as it might show commands for things that are not even installed. TL;DR autocomplete broken, how can i fix it. Seems like its disabled somewhere, why is this EDIT: Ok, it was not ever installed... $ sudo apt-get install bash-completion Reading package lists...   • Batch file script to remove special characters from filenames (Windows)

    I have a large set of files, some of which contain special characters in the filename (e.g. ä,ö,%, and others). I'd like a script file to iterate over these files and rename them removing the special characters. I don't really mind what it does, but it could replace them with underscores for example e.g. Störung%20.doc would be renamed to St_rung_20.doc In order of preference: A DOS batch file A Windows script file to run with cscript (vbs) A third party piece of software that can be run from the command-line (i.e. no user interaction required) Another language script file, for which I'd have to install an additional script engine Background: I'm trying to encrypt these file with GnuPG on Windows but it doesn't seem to handle special characters in filenames with the --encrypt-files option.

  • APC (PHP Cache) Uptime 0 minutes, not caching

    My goal is to implement APC for opcode cache for a drupal 6 production site. I have so far tested APC with several php files with and without including other php files with include_once. Also tried to tweak the apc.ini values for shm_size, apc.include_once_override and apc.stat. Restarted apache every time. Resulting in apc.php not showing any changes in any values. I tried to set (with chown and chgrp) apache as the owner of the apc.php file and some test php files resulting in 500 server error. Is there a way to check if the file permissions prevent the apc stay running? I'm tremendously grateful for any suggestions or help.

    During an overnight system state backup we are seeing thousands of success audit events (4656, 4658) on the folder c:\windows\servicing, system32 and others in the windows folder. We use file success auditing on some files so I can't disable it but this deluge is filling up the logs and making reporting tricky. What is the harm of changing the auditing settings on the windows folder? What are the recommended settings to put on the files for those people doing system state backups? Thanks,

  • Why does Perl's readdir() cache directory entries?

    For some reason Perl keeps caching the directory entries I'm trying to read using readdir: opendir(SNIPPETS, $dir_snippets); # or die... while ( my $snippet = readdir(SNIPPETS) ) { print ">>>".$snippet."\n"; } closedir(SNIPPETS); Since my directory contains two files, test.pl and test.man, I'm expecting the following output: . .. test.pl test.man Unfortunately Perl returns a lot of files that have since vanished, for example because I tried to rename them. After I move test.pl to test.yeah Perl will return the following list: . .. test.pl test.yeah test.man What's the reason for this strange behaviour? The documentation for opendir, readdir and closedir doesn't mention some sort of caching mechanism. "ls -l" clearly lists only two files.

  • Flex 3.5 Accordion and TabNavigator selectedIndex Bug

    I'm using Flex 3.5 with Adobe Flex Builder 3. I have found that if you very rapidly click between multiple headers of an accordion component or the tabs of TabNavigator, these components will begin to exhibit odd, unexpected behavior. Once this behavior has been evoked, even trying to set the selectedIndex programmatically does not end in the desired result. Specifically, if set the selectedIndex to zero (or click on the first tab/header) it might temporarily hop to that index but then will finish on a different index. Has anyone else experienced this behavior and do you know of a patch that can prevent the user from getting in a situation where the tab/header they click on is not the one made visible?

  • Calling a .NET web service (WSE 3.0, WS-Security) from JAXWS-RI

    I'm writing a JAXWS-RI client that must call a .NET Web Service that is using WS-Security. The service's WSDL does not contain any WS-Security info, but I have an example soap message from the service's authors and know that I must include wsse:Security headers, including X:509 tokens. I've been researching, and I've seen example of folks calling this type of web service from Axis and CXF (in conjunction with Rampart and/or WSS4J), but nothing about using plain JAXWS-RI itself. However, I'm (unfortunately) constrained to using JAXWS-RI by my gov't client. Does anyone have any examples/documentation of doing this from JAXWS-RI? I need to ultimately generate a SOAP header that looks something like the one below - this is a sample soap:header from a .NET client written by the service's authors.   • web.config, configSource, and "The 'xxx' element is not declared" warning.

    I have broken down the horribly unwieldy web.config file into individual files for some of the sections (e.g. connectionStrings, authentication, pages etc.) using the configSource attribute. This is working file, but the individual xml files that hold the section 'snippets' cause warnings in VS. For example, a file named roleManager.config is used for the role manager section, and looks like this: <roleManager enabled="false"> </rolemanager> However I get a blue squiggle under the roleManager element in VS, and the following warning: The 'roleManager' element is not declared I guess this is something to do with valid xml and schemas etc. Is there an easy way to fix this? Something I can add to the individual files? Thanks P.S. I have heard that it is bad practice to break the web.config file out like this. But don't really understand why - can anyone illuminate me?

    I have written a script that does this but it is one of my first scripts ever so i am sure there is a better way:) Let me know how you would go about doing this. I'm looking for a simple yet efficient way to do this. Here is some important background info: ( It might be a little confusing but hopefully by the end it will make sense. ) 1) This image shows the structure/location of the relevant dirs and files. 2) The packages.file located at ./config/default/config/packages is a space delimited file. field5 is the "package name" which i will call $a for explanations sake. field4 is the name of the dir containing the $a.dir i will call $b field1 shows if the package is selected or not, "X"(capital x) for selected and "O"(capital o as in orange) for not selected. Here is an example of what the packages.file might contain: ... C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE Please somebody help me to fix this problem..     Hi, Is it possible to cover my controller, that is highly depeinding on Etags with unit tests? Here's what i'm trying to do: in case if page is not stale (meaning that it's fresh), i'm adding some header to response. When i'm trying to test it all (rspec), no matter how many similar requests i have, i still receive 200 OK instead of 304, and my header doesn't get modified. Furthermore, if i track request.fresh?(response), it's ALWAYS false. However, it perfectly works in browser. I've already tried to state ActionController::Base.perform_caching = true, it doesn't change the overall situation. Thank you

    When I tried to do a Windows Vista Complete PC Backup, I received an error message that blathered about bad sectors. Then, when I ran chkdsk /r on the destination drive, this is what I got: C:\Windows\system32>chkdsk /R E: The type of the file system is NTFS. Volume label is Desktop Backup. CHKDSK is verifying files (stage 1 of 5)... 822016 file records processed. I know that I could reformat the disk and try running chkdsk /r again but I'd prefer to avoid waiting 4 hours in the hope that the problem was magically fixed. On the other hand, if I RmA the drive to Seagate, I have no SeaTools error number to use and they may claim that the drive is just fine. What should I try to do next? Side frustration: There is plenty of free hard drive space. The E: partition has 182 GB free.

I have given the absolute path to 'Header path info' Field. and its run fine without any Error.. But, Now When i Move the project folder to another destination, its but obvious, that path of src folder will change… So Now after moving file, when i run an application, It gives path error. So is there any way to solve this path issue? this comes when i run an app in simulator, and i guess It also won't run in iPhone because of problem of path of src folder. I'm using this to declare a function in Cython coming from cinterf.h header: cdef extern from 'cinterf.h': int xsb_init_string(char* p_xsb_path) The declaration in the C header file is: DllExport extern int call_conv xsb_init_string(char *); both DllExport and call_conv are macros defined elsewhere, and resolve to GCC compiler directives. do I have to use those as well inside cdef to fully match the declaration? When I call xsb_init_string() as: xsb_init_string('some string') The python interpreter gives me: 'ImportError: ./py_ext.so: undefined symbol: xsb_init_string' Am I declaring the xsb_init_string() signature properly, inside cdef?
