• Getting imagename and make link from <img> with jQuery

  With jQuery, I want to make all images under a specific path on a site clickable and showing a big image using Fancybox, which is a lighbox variant plugin for jQuery. My small images are located under "images/products/small", the big ones under "images/products/big" and the imagename is always the same The page is showing the image with the following code: <img src="images/products/small/hat.jpg" alt="Nice hat"> What i want is some jQuery script that makes this into: <a href="images/products/big/hat.jpg" class="fancybox"><img src="images/products/small/hat.jpg" alt="Nice hat"></a> Maybe the part with setting class on the link tag can be skipped and just activate fancybox on the element directly with $(elm).fancybox(); I was looking around a bit and it looks like the jQuery functions "attr" and "wrap" might be useful, but with my currently limited jQuery skills I can't really connect the dots.

• What are the definitive guidelines for custom Error Handling in ASP.NET MVC 3?

  The process of doing custom error handling in ASP.NET MVC (3 in this case) seems to be incredibly neglected. I've read through the various questions and answers here, on the web, help pages for various tools (like Elmah), but I feel like I've gone in a complete circle and still don't have the best solution. With your help, perhaps we can set a new standard approach for error handling. I'd like to keep things simple and not over-engineer this. • Has Little Endian won?

  When teaching recently about the Big vs. Little Endian battle, a student asked whether it had been settled, and I realized I didn't know. Looking at the Wikipedia article, it seems that the most popular current OS/architecture pairs use Little Endian but that Internet Protocol specifies Big Endian for transferring numeric values in packet headers. Would that be a good summary of the current status? Do current network cards or CPUs provide hardware support for switching byte order?

  What are the worst anti-patterns you have came across in your career as a programmer? I'm mostly involved in java, although it is probably language-independent. I think the worst of it is what I call the main anti-pattern. It means program consisting of single, extremely big class (sometimes accompanied with a pair of little classes) which contains all logic. Typically with a big loop in which all business logic is contained, sometimes having tens of thousands of lines of code.

While searching about this i found this awesome website Ginwiz; my website can be modified into an mobile friendly site without any additional coding. But i find two disadvantages with this website (free version) 1)We cant add our domain to it with out upgrading (i dont have enough money to pay for it) 2)We can only "Advanced edit" one page Do you know any website which is similar to Ginwiz but can use our domain address instead of theirs (in free version).   I need a counsel about my websites' domain. Let's say I have just bought two domains: xyz.com and xyzphotography.com. As we can see, the first one is shorter but way less meaningful than the second one. The second one contains a photography keyword but it's longer. I have only one website which is my photography portfolio. Can you advise me how to set those domains to make it all as SEO-friendly as possible?   It's the week of the NRF Big Show and all eyes in the retail industry are on New York. The Big Apple is famous for Big Retail -with a proliferation of incredibly iconic stores. The environment is exciting and familiar even to people visiting this small island for the first time. Most of us have travelled down Fifth Avenue watching movies and TV even if we have never set foot on American soil. I find it one of the most exciting retail cities in the world and I am thrilled this year to be here with so many of Oracle's International retail customers who are joining us for the Retail Exchange. The Oracle program brings retailers from all over the planet together to share ideas and be inspired by New York retail and the NRF event. The show celebrates its 100th year in 2011 and New York itself has been recognized globally as the capital of innovative retail for just as long.  Fifth Avenue is where many global brands have placed their flagship stores, and businesses are in constant competition to set themselves apart from their competitors - both in the store and from the street.  These flag ship retail destinations present what today's customers are finding most exciting and delightful about retail.   I have a codebase where the programmer tended to wrap things up in areas that don't make sense. For example, given an Error log we have you can log via ErrorLog.Log(ex, "friendly message"); He added various other means to accomplish the exact same task. E.G. SomeClass.Log(ex, "friendly message"); Which simply turns around and calls the first method. This adds levels of complexity with no added benefit. Is there an anti-pattern to describe this?
